³ With this the raynes of my backe were full of payne: Panges came vpon me, as vpon a woman in her trauayle. When I hearde it, I was abasshed, and when I loked vp, I was afrayde.

⁶⁷ In the mornyng thou shalt saye, wold God it were nyght. And at nyght thou shalt saye, wolde God it were mornynge: for feare of thyne herte which thou shalt feare, and for the syght of thyne eyes which thou shalt se.

⁶ Feare came there vpon them, and sorow as vpon a woman in her trauayle.

⁸ they shall stande in feare, carefulnesse and sorowe shal come vpon them, and they shal haue payne, as a woman that trauaileth with childe. One shal euer be abasshed of another, and their faces shall burne lyke the flamme.

⁵ Wo is my herte for Moabs sake. They fled vnto the cyty of Zoar, whiche is lyke a faire frutefull bullocke, they went vp to Luhith, weping. The waye toward Horonaim was ful of lamentacion for the hurte.

⁹ Therfore I mourned for Iazer, & for the vineyardes of Sibma with great sorowe. I poured my teares vpon Hesebon and Eleale, for al their songes were layde doune, in their haruest and gatherynge of their grapes.

¹⁷ Lyke as a wyfe wyth chylde (when her trauyle commeth vpon her) is ashamed, cryeth and suffreth the payne: Euen so are we O Lorde, in thy sight.

⁴¹ They shall clymme ouer the walles, and winne the strong holdes. Then the mighty mens hertes in Moab shalbe lyke the herte of a woman trauaylinge wyth chylde.

²² Beholde, the enemye shall come & fle vp hyther, lyke as it were an Aegle, and sprede his winges vpon Bozrah. Then shall the hertes of the worthyes in Edom be as the herte of a woman trauailinge of childe.

⁴³ As sone as the kyng of Babylon heareth tell of them, hys handes shall waxe feable: Sorowe and heuynes shal come vpon him, as a woman trauelynge wyth chylde.

⁵ In the very same houre there apeared fyngers, as it had bene of a mannes hande wrytynge, ryght ouer agaynst the candelstycke vpon the playne wall in the kynges palace, & the kynge sawe the palme of the hande that wrote. ⁶ Then chaunged the kynge hys countenaunce, and hys thoughtes troubled hym, so that the ioyntes of hys bodye shoke, and hys knees smote one against the other.

⁹ Why then art thou now so heuy? is there no Kynge in the? are they councelers awaye that thou art so payned, as a woman in her trauayle? ¹⁰ And now (O thou daughter Sion) be sory, let it greue the as a wyfe laborynge wyth chyld: for now must thou gett the out of the cytie, & dwell vpon the playne felde: Yee vnto Babylon shalt thou go, there shalt thou be delyuered, and there the Lorde shall lowse the from the hande of thyne enemyes.

¹⁶ When I heare thys, my bodye is vexed, my lyppes tremble at the voyce therof, my bones corruppe, I am afrayed where I stande. O that I myght rest in the day of trouble, that I myght go vp vnto oure people, whiche are alredye prepared.

³ When they shal say peace and no daunger, then commeth on them soden destruccion, as the trauaylynge of a woman wyth chyld, and they shal not escape.
