¹ Beholde, the Lordes hand is not so shortened, that it can not helpe, neyther is his care so stopped, that it maye not heare. ² But youre misdedes haue separated you from youre God, and youre synnes hyde his face from you, that he heareth you not. ³ For your handes are defiled with bloud and youre fyngers with vnryghteousnesse. But yf one treade vpon them, there commeth vp a serpent. ⁶ Their webbe maketh no clothe and they maye not couer them with their laboures. Their dedes are the dedes of wickednes, and the worck of robbery is in their handes: ⁷ Their fete runne to euyll, & they make haste to shed innocent bloude. Their councels are wycked councel, harme and destruccion are in their wayes. ⁸ But the way of peace they know not. In their goinge is no equite, their wayes are so crocked, that whosoeuer goeth therin, knoweth nothinge of peace. ⁹ And this is the cause that equyte is so far from vs, and that ryghteousnes commeth not nye vs. We loke for light, lo, it is darcknesse: for the morninge shine, se we walke in the darcke. ¹⁰ We grope like the blinde vpon the wal, we grope euen as one that hath none eyes. Ephraim shall beare no euyll wyll to Iuda, and Iuda shall not hate Ephraim: ¹⁴ but they bothe together shall flee vpon the shoulders of the Philistines towarde the West, and spoyle them together that dwell towarde the Easte. The Idumytes and the Moabites shall let their handes, fal & the Ammonites shalbe obedient vnto them. ¹⁵ The Lorde also shall cleaue the tunges of the Egypcyans sea, and with a mighty wind shal he lift vp his hande ouer Nilus, & shall smyte hys seuen streames and make men go ouer drye shod. ¹⁶ And thus shall he make a waye for his people, that remayneth from the Assirians, lyke as it happened to the Israelytes, what tyme they departed oute of the lande of Egypt.

Shewe them their abhominacyons: ³⁷ namelye, that they haue broken their wedlocke, and stayned their handes with bloud: yea euen with their ydoles haue they committed aduoutry, & offered them their owne children (to be deuoured) whom they had borne vnto me. ³⁸ Yea, and this haue they done vnto me: also, they haue defiled my Sanctuary in that same daye, & haue vnhalowed my Sabboth. ³⁹ For when they haue slayne their children for their Idoles, they came the same daye into my Sanctuary to defile it. Lo, thys haue they done in my house. ⁴⁰ Beside all thys, thou hast sent thy messaungers for men oute of farre countreyes: and when they came, thou hast bated, trimmed and set forth thy selfe of the best fashion: ⁴¹ thou sattest vpon a goodlye bed, & a table spred before the: whervpon thou hast set mine incense and myne oyle. ⁴² Then was there greate cheare with her, & the men that were sent from farre countreyes ouer the desert, vnto these they gaue bracelettes vpon their handes, and set glorious crounes vpon their heades: ⁴³ then thought I: no doute, these will vse their harlotry also wyth yonder old whore. ⁴⁴ And they wente into her, as vnto a comen harlot: Euen so wente they also to Oholah & Oholibah those fylthy wemen. ⁴⁵ O ye all that loue vertu & ryghteousnes, iudge them, punish them, as aduoutrers and murtherers ought to be iudged & punished. For they are breakers of wedlocke, and the bloude is in their handes. ⁴⁶ Wherfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: bringe a great multitude of people vpon them, & make them be scatred and spoyled: ⁴⁷ these shall stone them, & gore them with their swerdes. They shall slaye their sonnes and doughters and burne vp their houses with fyre. ⁴⁸ Thus will I destroye all such filthynes out of the land: that al wemen may learne, not to do after your vnclennesse. ⁴⁹ And so they shal lay your filthinesse vpon your owne selues, & ye shalbe punished for the sinnes, that ye haue committed with your Idols, & ye shall know that I am the Lorde.

Take out the peces that are in it, one after another: there neade not lottes be cast therfore, ⁷ for the bloude is yet in it. Vpon a playne drye stone hath she poured it, and not vpon the grounde, that it might be couered with dust: ⁸ & therfore haue I letten her poure her bloude vpon a playne drye stony rocke, because it should not be hid and that I might bringe my wrothful indignacion and vengeaunce vpon her. ⁹ Wherfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: O wo be vnto that bloud thursty cyty, for whom I wyll prepare a heape of wood: ¹⁰ beare thou the bones together, kindle you the fire, seeth the fleshe, let all be well soden, that the bones maye be suckte oute. ¹¹ Moreouer, set the pot empty vpon the coales, that it may be warme & the metall hote: that the fylth & rustinesse maye be consumed. ¹² But it wyl not go of, there is so muche of it: the rustinesse must be brent out. ¹³ Thy filthinesse is abhominable, for I woulde haue clensed the, but thou wouldest not be clensed. Thou canste not be pourged from thyne vnclennesse, tyll I haue poured my wrothfull indignacyon vpon the. ¹⁴ Euen I the Lorde haue so deuysed: Yea, it is come therto already, that I wil do it. I wyll not go backe, I will not spare, I will not be intreated: but accordynge to thy wayes & ymaginacions, thou shalt be punyshed, sayeth the lord God.

Yea, euen in the same lande shall they, their chyldren, & their childers chyldren dwell for euermore: and my seruaunt Dauid shalbe their euerlastinge prince. ²⁶ Moreouer, I will make a bonde of peace wyth theym, whiche shalbe vnto them an euerlastinge couenaunt. I will satle them also, and multiply them, my Sanctuary wyll I set amonge them for euermore. ²⁷ My dwellynge shalbe wyth them, yea, I will be their God, and they shal be my people.

For the whych cause I hyd my face from them, and delyuered them in to the handes of their enemyes, that they myght all be slayne with the swearde. ²⁴ Accordinge to their vnclennesse and vnfaithfull dealinges, so haue I entreated them, and hyd my face from them. ²⁵ Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: Now wyll I brynge agayne the captiues of Iacob and haue mercy vpon the whole house of Israell, and be gelous for my holy names sake. ²⁶ All their confusion and offence that they haue done agaynst me, shall be taken awaye: and so safely shall they dwell in their lande, that no man shall make them afrayed. ²⁷ And when I haue brought them agayne from amonge the people, when I haue gathered them together out of their enemyes landes, & am praysed in them before many Heathen: ²⁸ then shall they knowe, that I am the Lorde their God, which suffred them to be led in to cautyuyte amonge the Heathen, but now haue brought them agayne in to their owne lande, and not left one of them yonder. ²⁹ After that, wyll I hyde my face nomore from them, but will poure out my sprete vpon the house of Israell, sayeth the Lorde God.

⁵ We haue synned, we haue offended, we haue ben disobedient and gone back: yea we haue departed from all thy preceptes and iudgementes. ⁶ We woulde neuer folowe thy seruauntes the Prophetes, that spake in thy name to our kinges and princes, to oure forefathers, and to all the people of the lande. ⁷ O Lorde, ryghteousnesse belongeth vnto the, vnto vs pertayneth nothynge but open shame, as it is come to passe this day vnto euery man of Iuda and to them that dwell at Ierusalem: Yea, vnto all Israell, whether they be farre or nye thorow out all landes: wherin thou haste strowed them, because of the offences that they had done agaynst the. ⁸ Yea O Lorde, vnto vs, to our kinges and princes, to oure forefathers: euen to vs all, that haue offended the, belongeth open shame.

But the glorye of the celestiall is one, and the glorye of the terrestriall another. ⁴¹ There is one maner glory of the sunne and another glorye of the mone, and another glory of the starres. For one starre dyffereth from another in glorye. ⁴² So is the resurreccion of the dead. It is sowen in corruption, and ryseth in incorruption. ⁴³ It is sowen in dishonoure, and ryseth in honoure. It is sowen in weakenes, and ryseth in power. It is sowen a naturall bodye, and ryseth a spyrytuall bodye. ⁴⁴ There is a naturall bodye, and there is a spiritual bodye, ⁴⁵ as it is written: the fyrste man Adam was made a lyuinge soule, and the last Adam was made a quickeninge spirite. ⁴⁶ Howbeit that is not fyrste whiche is spyrytual: but that which is naturall, and then that which is spyrytual. ⁴⁷ The fyrste man is of the earth, earthlye: the seconde man is the Lorde from heauen. ⁴⁸ As is the earthlye, such are they that are earthlye. And as is the heauenlye, suche are they that are heauenlye. ⁴⁹ And as we haue borne the ymage of the earthly so shal we beare the Image of the heauenlye. ⁵⁰ This saye I brethren, that fleshe and bloude can not inheryte the kyngedome of God. Neyther corruption inheryte: vncorruption. ⁵¹ Beholde I shewe you a mysterye. We shal not al slepe: but we shal al be chaunged, ⁵² and that in a momente & in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trompe. For the trompe shall blowe, and the dead shal rise incorruptible and we shal be chaunged. ⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruptibilitie; and this mortal muste put on immortalytye. ⁵⁴ When this corruptible, hath put on incorruptibilitie, and this mortal hath put on immortalite, then shalbe brought to passe the saiyng that is written. ⁵⁵ Death is consumed into victory. Death wher is thy stynge? Hel wher is thy victory? ⁵⁶ The stinge of death is sinne: & the strength of sinne is the lawe. ⁵⁷ But thankes be vnto God, which hath geuen vs victory, thorowe our Lorde Iesus Christ. ⁵⁸ Therfore my deare brethren, be ye stedfast and vnmouable alwayes ryche in the workes of the Lorde, for as much as ye knowe, howe that your labour is not in vaine in the Lorde.

⁸ why shall not the ministracion of the spiryte be muche more gloryous?

¹⁷ The Lorde no doubte is a spiryte. And where the spiryte of the Lorde is, there is libertye. ¹⁸ But we all beholde the glorye of the Lorde with hys face open, and chaunged vnto the same similitude, from glorye to glory, euen of the spirite of the Lorde.

For the wrathe of God is come on them, euen to the vtmost.

³ When they shal say peace and no daunger, then commeth on them soden destruccion, as the trauaylynge of a woman wyth chyld, and they shal not escape.

⁶ Nowe hath he obtayned a more excellente offyce, in as muche as he is the medyator of a better testamente, whiche was made for better promyses. ⁷ For yf that fyrste testamente had bene faultlesse then shoulde no place haue bene soughte for the seconde. ⁸ For in rebukyng them he sayth: beholde the dayes wyll come (sayeth the Lorde) and I wyll fynyshe vpon the house of Israel, and vpon the house of Iuda, ⁹ a newe testamente: not lyke the testament that I made wyth theyr fathers at that tyme when I toke them by the handes, to leade them oute of the lande of Egypte, for they continued not in my testamente, and I regarded them not sayth the Lorde. ¹⁰ For thys is the testament that I will make wyth the house of Israel: After those dayes sayth the Lorde: I wyl put my lawes in their myndes, and in theyr hertes I wyl wryte them and I wyll be theyr God, and they shall be my people. ¹¹ And they shall not teache euerye man hys neyghboure, and euerye man hys brother, saiynge: knowe the Lorde: For they shall knowe me, from the leste to the most of them: ¹² For I wyll be mercyfull ouer theyr vnryghtuousnes, and on theyr synnes & on theyr iniquities. ¹³ In that he sayth a newe testament he hath abrogate the olde. Now that which is dysanulled and waxed olde, is readye to vanyshe awaye.

¹⁶ Thys is the testamente that I wyl make to them: after those dayes sayth the Lorde. I wyll put my lawes in theyr hertes and in theyr mynde I wyll wryte them

³⁰ For we knowe hym that hath sayde: vengeaunce belongeth vnto me. I wyll recompence sayth the lorde. And agayne: the lord shall iudge hys people.

³⁶ Other tasted of mockynges and scourgynges, moreouer of bondes and prysonmente, ³⁷ were stoned, were hewen a sounder, were tempted, were slayne wyth swerdes, walked vp and doune in shepes skynnes, in gotes skynnes, in nede, trybulacyon, and vexacyon, ³⁸ whiche the world was not worthy of, they wandred in wyldernes, in mountaines, in dennes and caues of the earth

¹⁴ Embrace peace wt all men and holynes, wythout the whiche no man shall se the Lorde.

¹⁵ Then when luste hath conceyued, she bringeth forth sinne, & sinne when it is fynyshed bryngeth forthe death.

⁶ and the tonge is fyre, and a worlde of wickednes. So is the tong set among our members, that it defyleth the whole body and setteth a fyre all that we haue of nature, & is it selfe set a fyre euen of hell.

¹¹ He that hateth his brother, is in darckenes and walketh in darckenes, and can not tell whether he goeth, because that darckenes hath blinded his eyes.

¹¹ For this is the tidinges, that ye hearde from the beginninge, that ye should loue one anothere ¹² not as Cayn, which was of the wicked & slewe his brother. And wherfore slewe he him? Because his own workes were euyll, and his brothers good.

¹⁷ because thou art ryche and increased wyth goodes, and hast nede of nothinge, and knowest not howe thou art wretched and miserable, poore, blind and naked. ¹⁸ I counsel the to bye of me golde tryed in the fyre, that thou mayest be ryche, and whyte raymente, that thou mayest be clothed, that thy fylthye nakednes do not appere, & annointe thine eyes wyth eye salue, that thou maiest se.

¹⁵ And the seuenth angell blewe, and there were made greate voyces in heauen, sayinge: the kyngdomes of thys worlde are oure Lordes and hys Christes, & he shall raygne for euer more.

¹⁰ And I hearde a loude voyce sayinge: in heauen is nowe made saluacyon, and strength and the kyngdome of our God, and the power of hys Christe. For he is caste doune, whyche accused them before God daye and nyghte.

¹⁵ And the dragon cast out of his mouth water after the woman as it had bene a riuer, because she should haue be caught of the floud. ¹⁶ And the earth holpe the woman, & the earth opened her mouth, and swalowed vp the ryuer which the dragon cast out of his mouth. ¹⁷ And the dragon was wroth wyth the woman, and went and made warre wyth the remnaunt of her seede, whiche kepe the commaundementes of God, and haue the testimonye of Iesus Christe. And I stode on the sea sande.

¹⁹ And the greate city was deuided into thre parties, & the cyties of al nacions fel. And great Babilon came in remembraunce before God, to geue vnto her the cup of the wine of the fyercenes of his wrath.

⁶ And I saw the wyfe drounken with the bloude of Saynctes, and with the bloud of the wytnesses of Iesu. And when I saw her, I wondred wyth great maruayle.

¹⁴ These shal fyght wt the lamb, & the lamb shal ouercome them. For he is Lorde of Lordes, & kinge of kinges, & they that are on his syde, are called the chosen and faithful. ¹⁵ And he sayde vnto me, the waters whyche thou saweste, where the whore sitteth are people, and folke, and nacions & tounges.

¹¹ And I sawe heauen open, & beholde a whyt horsse: and he that sate vpon hym was faythful and true, & in rightuousnes dyd he iudge & make battayl.

¹⁵ & out of hys mouthe went out a sharpe swearde, that with it he should smyte the heathen. And he shal rule them wyth a rod of Iron, & he trode the wine fat of the fiercenes & wrath of almightye God.

¹ And I saw an angel come doune from heauen, hauing the keye of the bottomlesse pytte, & a greate cheyne in his hand. ² And he toke the dragon that olde serpent which is the deuyl and Satanas, & he bound him a thousand yeares: ³ and cast him into the botomles pyt, and he bounde hym, and set a seale on him, that he shuld deceyue the people nomore, tyl the thousand yeares were fulfilled. And after that he must be loused for a lytle season.

¹² And I sawe the deade, both great and small stande before God: & the bokes were opened, & an other boke was opened, which is the boke of lyfe, and the dead were iudged of those thynges: which were wrytten in the bokes accordyng to theyr deedes: ¹³ & the sea gaue vp her deade, which were in her, & death & hel delyuered vp the deade which were in them: & they were iudged euery man according to hys deedes.
