Isaiah 59 Cross References - Matthew

1 Beholde, the Lordes hand is not so shortened, that it can not helpe, neyther is his care so stopped, that it maye not heare. 2 But youre misdedes haue separated you from youre God, and youre synnes hyde his face from you, that he heareth you not. 3 For your handes are defiled with bloud and youre fyngers with vnryghteousnesse. Youre lippes speake lesinges, and your tong setteth oute wickednes. 4 Noman regardeth righteousnes, and noman iudged truely. Euery man hopeth in vayne thinges, and ymagyneth disceyte, conceyueth werynesse, and bringeth forth euyl. 5 They brede cockatrice egges, and weue the spyders webbe Who so eateth of their egges, dyeth. But yf one treade vpon them, there commeth vp a serpent. 6 Their webbe maketh no clothe and they maye not couer them with their laboures. Their dedes are the dedes of wickednes, and the worck of robbery is in their handes: 7 Their fete runne to euyll, & they make haste to shed innocent bloude. Their councels are wycked councel, harme and destruccion are in their wayes. 8 But the way of peace they know not. In their goinge is no equite, their wayes are so crocked, that whosoeuer goeth therin, knoweth nothinge of peace. 9 And this is the cause that equyte is so far from vs, and that ryghteousnes commeth not nye vs. We loke for light, lo, it is darcknesse: for the morninge shine, se we walke in the darcke. 10 We grope like the blinde vpon the wal, we grope euen as one that hath none eyes. We stomble at the none daye, as thoughe it were toward night, in the fallynge places, lyke men that are halfe deade. 11 We roare all lyke Beeres, and mourne still like doues. We loke for equyte, but there is none: for health, but it is farre from vs. 12 For oure offences are many before the, and oure sinnes testifie against vs. Yea we must confesse that we offende, and knowledge that we do amysse: 13 Namely transgresse and dissemble agaynst the Lorde, and fall awaye from oure God: vsinge presumptuous and trayterous ymaginacions, and castynge false matters in oure hertes. 14 And therfore is equyte gone a syde, & ryghteousnes standeth farre of: truthe is fallen doune in the strete, and the thinge that is playne and open, maye not be shewed. 15 Yea, the truth is layde in preson, and he that refraineth him selfe from euyl, must be spoyled. When the Lorde sawe this, it dyspleased him sore, that there was no where any equite. 16 He sawe also, that there was noman, whiche had pitie thereof, or was greued at it. And he helde him by hys owne power, and cleued to his owne ryghteousnes. 17 He put ryghteousnes vpon him for a brest plate, and set the helmet of health vpon his heade. He put on wrath steade of clothinge, and toke gelousye aboute hym for a cloke 18 (lyke as when a man goeth forth wrothfully to recompence his enemies, and to be auenged of his aduersaryes.) Namely that he might recompence and rewarde the Ilandes, 19 where thorowe the name of the Lorde might be feared, from the rysynge of the Sunne: and his magesty, vnto the goinge doune of the same. For he shall come as a vyolente waterstreame, whyche the winde of the Lorde hath moued. 20 But vnto Sion there shall come a redemer, and vnto them is Iacob that turne from wyckednesse, sayeth the Lorde. 21 I wyll make this couenaunt with them (sayeth the Lorde): My spirite that is come vpon the, and the wordes whyche I haue put in thy mouthe, shall neuer go out of thy mouthe, nor oute of the mouth of thy childers chyldren, from this tyme forth for euermore.

Shulde not the iudge of all the worlde do acordynge to ryghte? 26 And the Lorde sayde: If I fynde in Sodome .l. ryghtwes wythin the cytie, I wyll spare all the place for their sakes. 27 And Abraham answered & sayd: behold I haue taken vpon me to speake vnto the Lord, & yet am but dust and asshes. 28 What though there lacke .v. of .l. ryghtwes, wylt thou destroy al the cyte for lacke of .v.? And he sayde: I wyll not do it, yf I fynde .xxx. there. 31 And he sayd: Oh, se, I haue begonne to speake vnto my Lorde, what yf there be .xx. found there? Turne the about & thou shalte se yet greater abhomynacyons. 16 And so he broughte me into the inward court of the Lordes house: and beholde at the porte of the Lordes house, betwyxte the fore entrye and the aulter, there were fyue and twentye men, that turned theyr backes vpon the temple of the Lorde, and theyr faces towarde the east & these worshipped the sonne.

Ezekiel 9:9

9 Then sayde he vnto me: The wickednesse of the house of Israel and Iuda is very greate: so that the lande is full of bloude, and the citie full of vnfaythfulnesse: For they saye: Tushe, the Lord regardeth not the earth, he seyth vs not.

Ezekiel 13:8

8 Therfore, thus sayth the Lorde God: Because youre wordes be vayne, & ye seke oute lyes: Beholde, I wyll vpon you, saith the Lord

Ezekiel 16:51-52

51 Neyther had Samaria done halfe of thy synnes, yea thou haste exceaded them in wyckednesse. In so muche that in comparyson of all the abhomynacions whyche thou haste done, thou haste made thy systers good wemen. 52

Ezekiel 18:25

25 And yet ye say: Tush, the waye of the lord is not indifferent. Heare therfore the house of Israel: Is not my way ryght? Or, are not youre wayes rather wicked?

Ezekiel 18:30-31

30 As for me I will iudge euery man, accordynge to hys wayes, O ye house of Israel, sayeth the Lord God. Wherfore be conuerted, and turne you cleane from all youre wickednesse, so shall there no sinne do you harme. 31 Caste awaye from you all your vngodlinesse, that ye haue done: make you new hertes and a new spirit. Wherfore will ye dye, O ye house of Israel?

Ezekiel 22:2

2 thou sonne of man, wilt thou not reproue his bluodthursty citye? Shewe hem their abhomynacions,

Ezekiel 22:2-12

2 thou sonne of man, wilt thou not reproue his bluodthursty citye? Shewe hem their abhomynacions, 3 and tell them: Thus sayeth the Lorde God: O thou cyty, that sheddest bloude in the middest of the, that thy tyme may come also: & makest the Idoles to defyle the withall. 4 Thou haste made thy selfe gyltye, in the bloud that thou hast shed: & defyled the in the Idoles, whiche thou hast made. Thou hast caused thy dayes to drawe nye, & made the tyme of thy yeares to come. Therfore wyll I make the to be confounded among the Heathen, & to be despysed in all the landes, 5 whether they be nye or farre from the: they shal laugh the to scorne, thou that hast gotten the so foule a name, & art full of myschefe. 6 Beholde, the rulers of Israel haue brought euery man his power, to shed bloud in the.

Ezekiel 22:6-12

6 Beholde, the rulers of Israel haue brought euery man his power, to shed bloud in the. 7 In the haue they dispysed father & mother, in the haue they oppressed the straunger, in the haue they vexed the widdowe and the fatherlesse. 8 Thou haste despysed my Sanctuarye, and vnhalowed my Sabboth. 9 Murtherers are there in the, that shede bloude, & eate vpon the hylles, and in the they vse vnhappynesse. 10 In the haue they discouered their fathers shame, in the haue they vexed wemen in their sicknesse. 11 Euery man hath dealte shamefully wyth hys neyghboures wyfe, and abhomynably defiled his doughter in law. In the hath euery man forced his owne syster, euen his fathers doughter: 12 yea gyftes haue bene receyued in the, to shede bloude. Thou haste taken vsury and encreace, thou haste oppressed thy neyghbours by extorcion, and forgotten me, sayeth the Lorde God.

Ezekiel 22:24-30

24 Thou sonne of man, tell her: thou art an vncleane lande, whiche is not rayned vpon in the daye of the cruell wrath: 25 thy Prophetes that are in the, are sworne together to deuoure soules, lyke as a roarynge Lyon, that lyueth by his praye. They receyue ryches and good, and make many widdowes in the. 26 Thy priestes breake my lawe, and defyle my Sanctuarye. They put no dyfference betwene the holy and vnholy, nether discerne betwene the cleane and vncleane: they turne their eyes from my Sabbothes, & I am vnhalowed among them. 27 Thy rulers in the ate like rauishing wolues, to shed bloude, and to destroye soules, for their owne couetous lucre. 28 As for thy Prophetes, they dawbe wyth vntempered claye, they se vanytyes, and prophecye lyes vnto them, sayinge: the Lorde God sayeth so, where as the Lorde hathe not spoken. 29 The people in the lande vseth wicked extorcyon and robbery. They vexe the poore and nedye and oppresse the straunger agaynste ryghte.

Ezekiel 22:29-30

29 The people in the lande vseth wicked extorcyon and robbery. They vexe the poore and nedye and oppresse the straunger agaynste ryghte. 30 And I soughte in the lande for a man, that woulde make vp the hedge, and set him selfe in the gappe before me in the landes behalfe, that I shoulde not vtterlye destroy it: but I coulde fynde none.

Ezekiel 22:30-30

30 And I soughte in the lande for a man, that woulde make vp the hedge, and set him selfe in the gappe before me in the landes behalfe, that I shoulde not vtterlye destroy it: but I coulde fynde none.

Ezekiel 22:30

30 And I soughte in the lande for a man, that woulde make vp the hedge, and set him selfe in the gappe before me in the landes behalfe, that I shoulde not vtterlye destroy it: but I coulde fynde none. 31 Therfore will I pour out my cruel displeasure vpon them, and burne them in the fyre in my wrath: their owne wayes will I recompence vpon their heades sayeth the Lorde God.

Ezekiel 23:2-49

2 Thou sonne of man, there were two wemen, that had one mother: 3 these (when they were younge) beganne to playe the harlottes in Egipte. There were their brestes brosed, and the pappes of their mayden head destroyed. 4 The eldest of them was called Oholah and her youngest syster Oholibah. These two were myne, & bare sonnes and doughters. Their names were, Samaria, and that was Oholah: and Ierusalem, that was Oholibah. 5 As for Oholah she beganne to go a whorynge, when I had taken her to me. She was set on fyre vpon her louers the Assirians, 6 whiche had to do with her: euen the princes & lordes, that were deckte in costly araye: fayre younge men, lusty riders of horses. 7 Thus thorowe her whordome she cleued vnto all the younge men of Assiria. Yea she was made vpon them, and defyled her self with al their Idols. 8 Neyther ceassed she from the fornicacyon, that she vsed wyth the Egyptians, for in her youth they laye wt her, they brosed the brestes of her maydenheade, and poored their whordome vpon her. 9 Wherfore I deliuered her into the handes of her louers euen the Assirians, whom she so loued. 10 These discouered her shame, toke her sonnes and doughters, and slue her with the swerde. An euyll name gat she of all people, and they punyshed her. 11 Her sister Oholibah sawe this, & destroyed her selfe with inordinate loue, more then she, & exceaded her syster in whordome: 12 she loued the Assirians (which also lay wt her) namelye the princes & greate lordes, that were clothed with all maner of gorgyous apparell, all lustye horsemen and faire younge personnes. 13 Then I sawe, that they bothe were defiled a like. 14 But she increased still in whordome: for when she sawe men paynted vpon the wall, the ymages of the Caldees set forthe wyth freshe colours, 15 with fayre gyrdles aboute them and goodly bonnettes vpon their heades, lokinge all like Princes (after the maner of the Babilonians and Caldees in their owne lande where they be borne) 16 immediatly, as sone as she sawe them, she brent in loue vpon them, & sent messaungers for them into the lande of the Caldees. 17 Now when the Babilonians came to her they laye with her, and defiled her with their whordome, and so was she polluted wyth them. And when her lust was abated from them: 18 her whordome and shame was dyscouered & sene: then my herte forsoke her, lyke as my herte was gone from her syster also. 19 Neuerthelesse she vsed her whordome euer the longer the more, and remembred the dayes of her youth, wherin she hath played the harlot in the lande of Egipte: 20 she brent in lust vpon them, whose flesh was like the fleshe of Asses & their sede like the sede of horses. 21 Thus thou hast renued the filthinesse of thy youth, when thy louers brosed thy pappes, & marred thy brestes in Egipte. 22 Therfore (O Oholibah) thus sayeth the lord God. I will raise vp thy louers (with whom thou hast satisfied thy lust) against the, and gather them together rounde aboute the: 23 namely, the Babilonians, & all the Caldees: Perod, Schoa and Coa, with al the Assirians: al younge and fayre louers: prynces and lordes knightes and gentlemen, whiche be all good horsmen: 24 These shal come vpon the with horses, charrettes, and a great multitude of people: whiche shalbe harnessed about the on euery side, with brestplates, sheldes and helmettes. I will punishe the before them, yea they them selues shal punish the, accordinge to their owne iudgement. 25 I will put my gelousy vpon the, so that they shall deale cruelly with the. They shall cut of thine nose and thyne eares, and the remnaunte shall fall thorow the swerde. They shall carie awaye thy sonnes and doughters, and the residue shalbe brent in the fyre. 26 They shall stripe the oute of thy clothes, and cary the costly Iewels away with them. 27 Thus wil I make an ende of thy filthinesse and whordome, whiche thou haste broughte oute of the lande of Egipte: so that thou shalt turne thyne eyes no more after them, and cast thy minde no more vpon Egipte. 28 For thus sayeth the Lorde: behold, I wil deliuer the into the handes of them, whom thou hatest: yea euen into the handes of them, wt whom thou hast fulfilled thy lust, 29 whiche shall deale cruellye with the: Al thy laboure shall they take with them, and leaue the naked & bare, & thus the shame of thy filthy whordome shal come to light. 30 All these thynges shall happen vnto the, because of thy whordome, whyche thou hast vsed amonge the Gentiles wyth whose Idoles thou hast defiled thy selfe. 31 Thou hast walcked in the waye of thy syster, therefore will I geue the her cuppe in thy hande. 32 Thus sayeth the Lorde God: Thou shalte dryncke vp thy sisters cuppe, how depe and farre soeuer it be to the botome. Thou shalte be laughed to scorne, and had as greatlye in derysyon, as is possible. 33 Thou shalte be full of dronckennes and sorowe, for the cuppe of thy sister Samaria is a cuppe of destruccyon and wastynge: 34 the same shalt thou dryncke, & suppe it oute euen to the dregges, yea thou shalt eate vp the broken peces of it, and so feare thine owne brestes: For euen I haue spoken it, sayeth the Lorde God. 35 Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: For so muche as thou hast forgotten me, & cast me aside, so beare now thyne owne fylthynesse & whordome. 36 The Lord sayde moreouer vnto me: Thou sonne of man wilt thou not reproue Oholah and Oholibah? Shewe them their abhominacyons: 37 namelye, that they haue broken their wedlocke, and stayned their handes with bloud: yea euen with their ydoles haue they committed aduoutry, & offered them their owne children (to be deuoured) whom they had borne vnto me. 38 Yea, and this haue they done vnto me: also, they haue defiled my Sanctuary in that same daye, & haue vnhalowed my Sabboth. 39 For when they haue slayne their children for their Idoles, they came the same daye into my Sanctuary to defile it. Lo, thys haue they done in my house. 40 Beside all thys, thou hast sent thy messaungers for men oute of farre countreyes: and when they came, thou hast bated, trimmed and set forth thy selfe of the best fashion: 41 thou sattest vpon a goodlye bed, & a table spred before the: whervpon thou hast set mine incense and myne oyle. 42 Then was there greate cheare with her, & the men that were sent from farre countreyes ouer the desert, vnto these they gaue bracelettes vpon their handes, and set glorious crounes vpon their heades: 43 then thought I: no doute, these will vse their harlotry also wyth yonder old whore. 44 And they wente into her, as vnto a comen harlot: Euen so wente they also to Oholah & Oholibah those fylthy wemen. 45 O ye all that loue vertu & ryghteousnes, iudge them, punish them, as aduoutrers and murtherers ought to be iudged & punished. For they are breakers of wedlocke, and the bloude is in their handes. 46 Wherfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: bringe a great multitude of people vpon them, & make them be scatred and spoyled: 47 these shall stone them, & gore them with their swerdes. They shall slaye their sonnes and doughters and burne vp their houses with fyre. 48 Thus will I destroye all such filthynes out of the land: that al wemen may learne, not to do after your vnclennesse. 49 And so they shal lay your filthinesse vpon your owne selues, & ye shalbe punished for the sinnes, that ye haue committed with your Idols, & ye shall know that I am the Lorde.

Ezekiel 24:6-14

6 With that sayde the Lorde God on thys maner: Wo be vnto the bloudye citie of the pot, whervpon the rustinesse hangeth, and is not yet scoured awaye. Take out the peces that are in it, one after another: there neade not lottes be cast therfore, 7 for the bloude is yet in it. Vpon a playne drye stone hath she poured it, and not vpon the grounde, that it might be couered with dust: 8 & therfore haue I letten her poure her bloude vpon a playne drye stony rocke, because it should not be hid and that I might bringe my wrothful indignacion and vengeaunce vpon her. 9 Wherfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: O wo be vnto that bloud thursty cyty, for whom I wyll prepare a heape of wood: 10 beare thou the bones together, kindle you the fire, seeth the fleshe, let all be well soden, that the bones maye be suckte oute. 11 Moreouer, set the pot empty vpon the coales, that it may be warme & the metall hote: that the fylth & rustinesse maye be consumed. 12 But it wyl not go of, there is so muche of it: the rustinesse must be brent out. 13 Thy filthinesse is abhominable, for I woulde haue clensed the, but thou wouldest not be clensed. Thou canste not be pourged from thyne vnclennesse, tyll I haue poured my wrothfull indignacyon vpon the. 14 Euen I the Lorde haue so deuysed: Yea, it is come therto already, that I wil do it. I wyll not go backe, I will not spare, I will not be intreated: but accordynge to thy wayes & ymaginacions, thou shalt be punyshed, sayeth the lord God.

Ezekiel 35:6

6 Therfore as truelye as I lyue, sayeth the Lord GOD, I wyl prepare the vnto bloud, yea bloude shall folowe vpon the: seyng thou layest wayte for bloude, therfore shal bloude persecute the.

Ezekiel 36:25-27

25 Then wyll I poure cleare water vpon you, & ye shalbe clene: yee from all your vnclennesse and from all your Idols shal I clense you. 26 A new herte also will I geue you, and a new sprete wyll I put into you: As for that stony herte, I wyll take it out of youre body, & geue you a fleshly herte. 27 I will geue my sprete amonge you, and cause you to walcke in my commaundementes, to kepe my lawes, and to fulfyll them.

Ezekiel 37:25-27

25 They shal dwel in the lande, that I gaue vnto Iacob my seruaunt, where as youre fathers also haue dwelt. Yea, euen in the same lande shall they, their chyldren, & their childers chyldren dwell for euermore: and my seruaunt Dauid shalbe their euerlastinge prince. 26 Moreouer, I will make a bonde of peace wyth theym, whiche shalbe vnto them an euerlastinge couenaunt. I will satle them also, and multiply them, my Sanctuary wyll I set amonge them for euermore. 27 My dwellynge shalbe wyth them, yea, I will be their God, and they shal be my people.

23 And the Heathen shall knowe, that where as the house of Israell were led in to captyuite: it was for their wickednes sake, because they offended me. For the whych cause I hyd my face from them, and delyuered them in to the handes of their enemyes, that they myght all be slayne with the swearde. 24 Accordinge to their vnclennesse and vnfaithfull dealinges, so haue I entreated them, and hyd my face from them. 25 Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde God: Now wyll I brynge agayne the captiues of Iacob and haue mercy vpon the whole house of Israell, and be gelous for my holy names sake. 26 All their confusion and offence that they haue done agaynst me, shall be taken awaye: and so safely shall they dwell in their lande, that no man shall make them afrayed. 27 And when I haue brought them agayne from amonge the people, when I haue gathered them together out of their enemyes landes, & am praysed in them before many Heathen: 28 then shall they knowe, that I am the Lorde their God, which suffred them to be led in to cautyuyte amonge the Heathen, but now haue brought them agayne in to their owne lande, and not left one of them yonder. 29 After that, wyll I hyde my face nomore from them, but will poure out my sprete vpon the house of Israell, sayeth the Lorde God.

Daniel 9:5-8

5 We haue synned, we haue offended, we haue ben disobedient and gone back: yea we haue departed from all thy preceptes and iudgementes. 6 We woulde neuer folowe thy seruauntes the Prophetes, that spake in thy name to our kinges and princes, to oure forefathers, and to all the people of the lande. 7 O Lorde, ryghteousnesse belongeth vnto the, vnto vs pertayneth nothynge but open shame, as it is come to passe this day vnto euery man of Iuda and to them that dwell at Ierusalem: Yea, vnto all Israell, whether they be farre or nye thorow out all landes: wherin thou haste strowed them, because of the offences that they had done agaynst the. 8 Yea O Lorde, vnto vs, to our kinges and princes, to oure forefathers: euen to vs all, that haue offended the, belongeth open shame.

Amos 5:18-20

18 Wo be vnto them that desyre the daye of the Lorde, Wherfore wold ye haue it? Thus they oppresse a man for his house, & euery man for hys heretage. 3 Therfore thus sayeth the Lorde: Beholde agaynst thys housholde haue I deuysed a plage, wherout ye shal not plucke your neckes: Ye shal nomore go so proudely, for it wyll be a perlous tyme.

The Sunne shall go downe ouer those prophetes, and the daye shalbe darcke vnto them. 7 Then shall the vysyon seers be ashamed, and the suthsayers confounded: yee they shallbe fayne, all the packe of them, to stoppe their mouthes, for they haue not Gods worde. 8 As for me, I am full of strength, and of the sprete of the Lorde, full of iudment and boldnesse: to shewe the house of Iacob their wyckednesse, and the house of Israell their synne. 9 O heare this ye rulers of the house of Iacob, and ye iudges of the house of Israell: ye that abhorre the thynge that is laufull, and wrayst asyde the thynge that is streyght. 10 Ye that buylde vp Syon wyth bloude, and Ierusalem wyth doynge wronge.

Micah 3:10-11

10 Ye that buylde vp Syon wyth bloude, and Ierusalem wyth doynge wronge. 11 O ye iudges, ye geue sentence for gyftes: O ye preastes, ye teach for lucre: O ye Prophetes, ye prophecy for monye. Yet wyll they be taken as those that holde vpon God, and saye: Is not the Lorde amonge vs? Tushe, there can no mysfortune happen vs.

Micah 3:11-11

11 O ye iudges, ye geue sentence for gyftes: O ye preastes, ye teach for lucre: O ye Prophetes, ye prophecy for monye. Yet wyll they be taken as those that holde vpon God, and saye: Is not the Lorde amonge vs? Tushe, there can no mysfortune happen vs. 12 Therfore shall Syon (for youre sakes) be plowed lyke a felde: Ierusalem shalbe come an heape of stones, and the hyll of the temple shalbe turned to an hye wodde.

Micah 6:12

12 amonge those that be full of ryches vnryghtuously gotten: where the cyte syns deale with falshede, speake lies, & haue dysceytfull tunges in their mouthes?

Micah 7:2

2 There is not a godlye man vpon earth, there is not one ryghtuous amonge men. They laboure al to shed bloud, and euery man hunteth his brother to death:

Micah 7:2-5

2 There is not a godlye man vpon earth, there is not one ryghtuous amonge men. They laboure al to shed bloud, and euery man hunteth his brother to death: 3 yet they saye: they do well, when they do euil. As the prince wyll, so sayeth the iudge: that he maye do him a pleasure agayne. The greate man speaketh what his herte desyreth: & the hearers alowe hym. 4 The best of them is but as a thistle, & the most rightuous of them is but as a breer in the hedge. But when the day of thy preachers commeth, that thou shalt be vysyted: then shall they be wasted awaye. 5 Let no man beleue hys frende, nor put his confidence in a prynce. Kepe the porte of thy mouthe, from her that lyeth in thy bosome:

Nahum 1:2

2 The Lorde is a gelous God, & a taker of vengeaunce: yee a taker of vengeaunce is the Lorde, and wrathfull. The Lord taketh vengeaunce of hys enemyes, and reserueth dyspleasure for his aduersaries.

Habakkuk 1:2-4

2 O lord how long shal I crye, and thou wilt not heare? How long shal I complayn vnto the, sufferynge wrong, & thou wilte not helpe? 3 Why lettest thou me se weerynesse and laboure? Tyranny & vyolence are before me, power ouergoeth righte: 4 for the lawe is toarne in peces, and there can no ryghte iudgemente go forthe. And why? the vngodly is more set by then the rightuous: this is the cause, that wronge iudgemente procedeth.

Habakkuk 1:4

4 for the lawe is toarne in peces, and there can no ryghte iudgemente go forthe. And why? the vngodly is more set by then the rightuous: this is the cause, that wronge iudgemente procedeth.

Habakkuk 1:13

13 Thyne eyes are clene, thou mayest not se euyll, thou canst not beholde the thynge that is wycked. Wherfor then doest thou loke vpon the vngodly, and holdest thy tung, when the wycked deuoureth the man that is better then hym selfe?

Habakkuk 1:13-14

13 Thyne eyes are clene, thou mayest not se euyll, thou canst not beholde the thynge that is wycked. Wherfor then doest thou loke vpon the vngodly, and holdest thy tung, when the wycked deuoureth the man that is better then hym selfe? 14 Thou makest men as the fysh in the sea, and lyke as the crepynge beastes that haue no gyde.

Zephaniah 1:9

9 In the same daye also wyll I vyset all those, that treade ouer the thresholde so proudely, which fyll theyr Lordes house with trobbery and falshede.

Zephaniah 3:1-3

1 Wo to the abhomynable, fylthy & cruell cytie: 2 whiche will not heart, nor be refourmed. Get trust is not in the Lord, neither wyll she holde her to her goo. 3 Her rulers within her are as roaryng lyons: her iudges are as wolues in the euenynge, which leaue nothynge behynde them tyll the morowe.

Zephaniah 3:3-3

3 Her rulers within her are as roaryng lyons: her iudges are as wolues in the euenynge, which leaue nothynge behynde them tyll the morowe. 4 Her prophetes are lyght persones & vnfaythfull men: her priestes vnhalowe the Sanctuarye, and do wrong vnder the pretence of the lawe.

Zephaniah 3:8-9

8 Therfore ye shall wayte vpon me (sayeth the Lord) vntil the tyme that I stand vp: for I am determed, to gather the people & to bring the kingedoms together, that I may poure oute myne anger, yea, al my wrothfull displeasure vpon them. For all the worlde shalbe consumed wyth the fyre of my gelousy. 9 And then wyll I clense the lyppes of the people, that they may euerychone call vpon the name of the Lord, and serue hym with one shulder.

Zechariah 1:14

Matthew 12:34-36

34 O generation of vipers, how can ye say well, when ye your selues are euil? For of the aboundaunce of the herte, the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of hys herte, bringeth forth good thinges. And an euill man out of his euill treasure, bringeth forth euil thinges. 36 But I say vnto you, that of euery idell worde that men shall haue spoken: they shall geue a countes at the daye of iudgement.

Matthew 23:33-33

33 Ye serpentes and generacion of vppers howe shoulde ye scape the damnacion of hell? 34 Wherfore, behold I send vnto you Prophetes, wise men, & Scribes. Of them ye shal kyl and crucifye: and of them ye shall scourge in your synagoges, and persecute from citye to citye 35 that vpon you may come all the ryghtuous bloude that was shede vpon the earth, from the bloude of ryghtuous Abel, vnto the bloude of Zacharias the sonne of Barachias, whom ye slewe betwene the tempel and the aulter. 36 Verely I say vnto you, al these things shall lyght vpon this generation. 37 Ierusalem, Ierusalem which killest prophetes, and stone them which are sent to the: howe often would I haue gathered thy children together: as the henne gathered her chikens vnder her winges, but ye would not.

Acts 2:36-39

36 So therefore let all the house of Israell knowe for a surety, that God hath made the same Iesus whom ye haue crucifyed, bothe Lord and Christe. 37 When they hearde this, they were prycked in their hertes, and sayd vnto Peter and vnto the other Apostles. Ye men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Peter sayde vnto them: repent and be baptysed euerye one of you in the name of Iesus Christe for the remission of sinnes, and ye shall receiue the gifte of the holye ghost. 39 For the promyse was made vnto you and to your chyldren, & to all that are a farre, euen as manye as the Lorde oure God shall call.

Romans 2:6

6 whyche wyll rewarde euerye man according to hys dedes:

Romans 3:10-18

10 as it is wrytten: There is none righteous, no not one: 11 there is none that vnderstandeth, there is none that seketh after God, 12 they are all gone out of the waye, they are all made vnprofytable, there is none that doeth good, no not one. 13 Theyr throte is an open sepulchre, with theyr tonges they haue disceyued, the poyson of aspes is vnder their lippes. 14 Whose mouthes are full of curssyng and bytternes. 15 Theyr fete are swyfte to sheed bloude.

Romans 3:15-18

15 Theyr fete are swyfte to sheed bloude. 16 Destruccyon and wretchednes are in theyr wayes.

Romans 3:16-18

16 Destruccyon and wretchednes are in theyr wayes. 17 And the way of peace they haue not knowen.

Romans 3:17

17 And the way of peace they haue not knowen.

Romans 3:17-18

17 And the way of peace they haue not knowen. 18 There is no feare of God before theyr eyes. 19 Yea and we knowe that whatsoeuer the law sayeth, he saith it to them which are vnder the lawe. That all mouthes maye be stopped, and all the world be subdued to God, 20 because that by the dedes of the lawe, shall no fleshe be iustifyed in the syght of God. For by the lawe commeth the knoweledge of synne.

Romans 3:20-20

20 because that by the dedes of the lawe, shall no fleshe be iustifyed in the syght of God. For by the lawe commeth the knoweledge of synne. 21 Nowe verelye is the ryghteousnes that commeth of God, declared withoute the fulfyllynge of lawe, hauynge wytnes yet of the lawe and of the Prophetes. 22 The ryghteousnes no doubte whiche is good before God commeth by the fayth of Christe, vnto all and vpon all that beleue. There is no difference:

Romans 4:6-8

6 Euen as Dauid descrybeth the blessedfulnes of the man vnto whome God ascrybeth ryghteousnes withoute dedes. 7 Blessed are they, whose vnryghteousnes are forgeuen, and whose synnes are couered. 8 Blessed is that man to whome the Lord imputeth not synne.

Romans 8:9

9 But ye are not geuen to the fleshe, but to the spirite yf so be that the spirite of God dwell in you. Yf there be any man that hath not the spirite of Christ, the same is none of hys.

Romans 8:36

36 As it is wrytten: For thy sake are we killed al day longe, and are counted as shepe appointed to be slayne.

Romans 11:26-27

26 and so al Israel shalbe saued. As it is wrytten: There shal come oute of Syon he that doeth delyuer, and shall turne away the vngodlynes of Iacob. 27 And this is my couenaunte vnto them, when I shall take awaye theyr synnes.

Romans 13:12-14

12 The night is passed, and the day is come ny. Let vs therfore caste awaye the dedes of darcknes, & let vs put on the Armoure of lyghte. 13 Let vs walke honestlye as it were in the daye lyght: not in eatynge and drynkynge: neyther in chamburynge and wantonnes, neyther in stryfe & enuiynge: 14 but put ye on the Lorde Iesus Christ. And make not prouysyon for the fleshe, to fulfyll the lustes of it.

1 Corinthians 15:3-58

3 For fyrste of al I deliuered vnto you that which I receiued how that Christe dyd for oure synnes, agreinge to the scriptures: 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose agayne the thyrde daye accordinge to the scriptures 5 and that he was sene of Cephas, then of the twelue. 6 After that he was sene of more then fyue hundred brethren at ones of whiche manie remaine vnto this daie, and many are fallen a slepe. 7 After that appeared he to Iames, then to al the Apostles. 8 And last of al, he was sene of me, as of one that was borne out of due time. 9 For I am the leste of al the Apostles, whiche am not worthy to be called an Apostle, because I persecuted the congregation of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am that I am. And his grace which is in me, was not in vaine, but I laboured more aboundantly then they al, not I but the grace of God which is with me. 11 Whether it were I or they, so we preache, and so haue ye beleued. 12 If Christe be preached howe that he rose from death: howe saye some? that are amonge you, that there is no resurreccion from death? 13 If ther be no rysinge agayne from death, then is Christe not rysen. 14 If Christ be not rysen, then is our preachinge vayne, and your faith is also in vaine. 15 Ye and we are founde false witnesses of God. For we haue testifyed of God, howe that he raysed vp Christe, whom he raysed not vp yf it be so that the deade ryse not vp againe. 16 For yf the dead rise not againe then is Christ not rysen againe. 17 Yf it be so that Christe rose not, then is youre faith in vayne, and yet are ye in youre synnes. 18 And ther to they which are fallen a slepe in Christ, are peryshed. 19 If in thys lyfe onelye we beleue on Christ, then are we of all men the miserablest. 20 But now in Christ rysen from the dead, and is become the fyrste fruytes of them that slepte. 21 For by a man came death, and by a man came the resurceccion of the dead. 22 For as by Adam all dye: euen so by Christe, shall all be made aliue, 23 and euery man in his owne order. The fyrste is Christe, then they that are Christes at his comminge. 24 Then commeth the ende when he hath delyuered vp the kyngedome to God the father, when he hath put doune all rule, authoritie, and power. 25 For he muste reigne tyll he haue put all hys enemies vnder his fete. 26 The laste enemy that shalbe destroied is death. 27 For he hath put all thinges vnder hys fete. But when he sayeth, all thinges are put vnder hym it is manifest that he is excepted, whyche dyd put all thinges vnder him. 28 When all thinges are subdued vnto hym: then shall the sonne also him selfe be subiecte to him that put al thinges, vnder him that God maye be all in all thinges. 29 Eyther els what do they, which are baptysed ouer the dead, yf the dead ryse not at all? Why are they then baptysed ouer the dead? 30 yea and why stande we in ieoperdy euerye houre? 31 By our reioysinge, whyche I haue in Christe Iesu our Lorde, I dye dayly. 32 That I haue fought wyth beastes at Ephesus, after the maner of men what auauntageth it me, yf the dead rise not againe? Let vs eate and drincke, to morowe we shall dye. 33 Be not deceiued: malicious speakinges corrupte good maners. 34 Awake truelye out of slepe and synne not. For some haue not the knowledge of God. I speake this vnto you: rebuke. 35 But some man wyl saye: howe aryse the dead? wyth what bodyes come they in? 36 Thou fole, that whiche thou sowest is not quickened except it dye. 37 And what sowest thou? Thou sowest not that bodye that shall be, but are corne (I meane either of what, or of some other) 38 and God geueth it a body at his pleasure, to euery seede a seuerall body. 39 Al fleshe is not one maner of fleshe: but there is one maner fleshe of men, another maner fleshe of beastes, another maner fleshe of fyshes, and another of byrdes. 40 There are celestiall bodyes, and there are bodyes terrestriall. But the glorye of the celestiall is one, and the glorye of the terrestriall another. 41 There is one maner glory of the sunne and another glorye of the mone, and another glory of the starres. For one starre dyffereth from another in glorye. 42 So is the resurreccion of the dead. It is sowen in corruption, and ryseth in incorruption. 43 It is sowen in dishonoure, and ryseth in honoure. It is sowen in weakenes, and ryseth in power. It is sowen a naturall bodye, and ryseth a spyrytuall bodye. 44 There is a naturall bodye, and there is a spiritual bodye, 45 as it is written: the fyrste man Adam was made a lyuinge soule, and the last Adam was made a quickeninge spirite. 46 Howbeit that is not fyrste whiche is spyrytual: but that which is naturall, and then that which is spyrytual. 47 The fyrste man is of the earth, earthlye: the seconde man is the Lorde from heauen. 48 As is the earthlye, such are they that are earthlye. And as is the heauenlye, suche are they that are heauenlye. 49 And as we haue borne the ymage of the earthly so shal we beare the Image of the heauenlye. 50 This saye I brethren, that fleshe and bloude can not inheryte the kyngedome of God. Neyther corruption inheryte: vncorruption. 51 Beholde I shewe you a mysterye. We shal not al slepe: but we shal al be chaunged, 52 and that in a momente & in the twinkling of an eye, at the sound of the last trompe. For the trompe shall blowe, and the dead shal rise incorruptible and we shal be chaunged. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruptibilitie; and this mortal muste put on immortalytye. 54 When this corruptible, hath put on incorruptibilitie, and this mortal hath put on immortalite, then shalbe brought to passe the saiyng that is written. 55 Death is consumed into victory. Death wher is thy stynge? Hel wher is thy victory? 56 The stinge of death is sinne: & the strength of sinne is the lawe. 57 But thankes be vnto God, which hath geuen vs victory, thorowe our Lorde Iesus Christ. 58 Therfore my deare brethren, be ye stedfast and vnmouable alwayes ryche in the workes of the Lorde, for as much as ye knowe, howe that your labour is not in vaine in the Lorde.

2 Corinthians 3:8

2 Corinthians 3:17-18

17 The Lorde no doubte is a spiryte. And where the spiryte of the Lorde is, there is libertye. 18 But we all beholde the glorye of the Lorde with hys face open, and chaunged vnto the same similitude, from glorye to glory, euen of the spirite of the Lorde.
