²⁰ At the same tyme shall the Lorde shaue the hearre of the heade and the fete and the beerd cleane of, with the rasoure that he shall paye them wyth all beyonde the water: namelye wyth the kynge of the Assyryans.

⁷ Then Ahaz sente messengers to Teglath Phalasar Kyng of Assyrya, saying: I am thy seruaunte and thy sonne, come & delyuer me oute of the hande of the kynge of Syrya, and out of the hande of the kynge of Israel which are rysen agaynst me. ⁸ And Ahaz toke the syluer and the goulde that was founde in the house of the LORDE and in the treasure of the kynges house, and sent it for a rewarde to the Kynge of Assyria.

¹³ The .xiiij. yeare of Kynge Hezekiah came Sennaherib kynge of Assyrya agaynste all the stronge cytyes of Iuda, and toke them. ¹⁴ Whervpon Hezekiah kyng of Iuda sent to the kyng of Assyria to Lachis saying: I haue offended. But depart from me, and what thou putteste on me that wyll I beare. And the kynge of Assyria appoynted vnto Hezekiah kynge of Iuda thre hundred talentes of syluer, and thyrtye talentes of golde. ¹⁵ And Hezekiah gaue hym all the syluer that was founde in the house of the Lorde, and also in the treasure of the kynges house. ¹⁶ And the sayde ceason Hezekiah rente of the dores of the temple of the Lorde and the pyllers whiche the sayde Hezekiah kynge of Iuda couered ouer, & gaue them to the kynge of Assyrya.

²⁰ And Thiglath palneser kynge of Assur came vpon hym and beseged hym, but preuayled not agaynst him. ²¹ For Ahaz toke awaye out of the house of the Lorde and out of the kynges house and out of the Lordes houses, and gaue vnto the kyng of Assur, though yt holpe him not.

⁵ Wherfore shulde ye be plaged any more? For ye are euer fallyng away. The whole head is sick, & the herte is very heauy.

⁷ Beholde, the Lorde shall brynge mightye and greate floudes of water vpon them: namely the kinge of the Assirians with all his power. Whyche shall poure oute his furiousnesse vpon euery man, and runne ouer all their banckes.

¹⁴ Therfore the Lorde shal rote oute of Israel bothe head & tayle, braunch and twigge in one daye. ¹⁵ By the heade, is vnderstande the Senatoure and honorable man, and by the tayle, the Prophet that preacheth lyes. ¹⁶ For al they whiche enfourme the people that they be in a righte case, suche be disceyuers. Suche as men thyncke also to be perfecte amonge these, are but cast awaye. ¹⁷ Therfore shall the Lorde haue no pleasure in their yonge men, neyther fauoure their fatherlesse and wyddowes. For they are all together ypocrytes and wicked, and all their mouthes speake foly. After all this shall not the Lordes wrathe ceasse, but yet his hande shalbe stretched oute still.

⁵ Wo be also vnto Assur, whiche is a staffe of my wrathe, in whose hande is the roade of my punishement. ⁶ For I shall send him among those ypocrytish people, amonge the people that haue deserued my disfauour shall I send him: that he maye vtterly robbe them, spoyle them, and tread them doune lyke the myre in the strete.

¹⁵ But doth the axe boost it selfe, agaynste hym, that he heweth therwyth, or doth the sawe make any krackynge, agaynst hym that ruleth it? That were euen lyke, as yf the roade dyd exalte it selfe, against him that beareth it: or as though the staffe shoulde magnyfye it selfe, as who saie: it were no wode.

¹⁵ The Lorde also shall cleaue the tunges of the Egypcyans sea, and with a mighty wind shal he lift vp his hande ouer Nilus, & shall smyte hys seuen streames and make men go ouer drye shod.

¹ Beholde, the Lorde shal waste & plage the worlde, he shal make the face of the earthe desolate, & scatre abroade the inhabitoures therof. ² Then shal the pryeste be as the people, the mayster as the seruaunt, the dame lyke the mayde, the seller lyke the byer he that lendeth vpon vsurye, lyke vnto him that boroweth vpon vsury, the creditoure, as the detter.

⁶ And nowe wyl I delyuer all these landes into the power of Nabuchodonosor the Kynge of Babylon, my seruaunt. The beastes also of the felde shall I geue hym to do hym seruyce. ⁷ And all people shall serue hym, and hys sonne, and hys chyldes chyldren, vntyll the tyme of the same lande become also: yea many people & greate Kynges shall serue hym.

¹ O thou sonne of man, take the then a sharpe knyfe, namely, a rasoure. Take that, & shaue the hearre of thy head and beerd: Then take the scoales and the waight, and deuyde the hearre a sunder. ² And burne the thirde parte therof in the fyre in the myddest of the cytie, & cut the other thirde parte in peces with a knyfe. As for the thirde parte that remayneth, cast it in the wynde, & then shewe the bare knyfe. ³ Yet afterwarde take a lytle of the same, and bynde it in thy cote lappe. ⁴ Then take a curtesy of it, and cast it in the myddest of the fyre: & burne it in the fyre. Out of the same fyre shall there goo a flame, vpon the whole house of Israell.

¹⁸ Thou sonne of man, Nabuchodonosor the kynge of Babylon hath made hys hoste, wyth greate trauayle and laboure to come before Tyre: that euerye head may be balde, and euerye shoulder bare. Yet hath Tyre geuen neyther hym nor hys hoost anye rewarde, for the greate trauayle that he hath taken there.

²⁰ I wil geue hym the lande of Egypte for hys labour, that he toke for me before Tyre.
