⁵ The dayes of man are shorte, the nombre of his monethes are knowne only vnto the. Thou hast apoynted hym his boundes, he can not go beyond them.

¹ Is not the lyfe of man vpon earth a verye batayl? Are not hys daies lyke the daies of an hired seruaunte?

¹⁰ In whose hande is the soule of euery lyuynge thinge, & the breth of all men.

¹⁴ Maye a deed man lyue agayne? All the dayes of thys my pilgremage am I lokynge, when my chaunginge shall come.

²¹ For what careth he, what be come of his housholde after his death? whose monethes passe awaye swyfter then an arowe.

¹³ It is he him selfe alone, who wyll turne hym back? He doth as him listeth, and bryngeth to passe what he will. ¹⁴ He rewardeth me into my bosome, and many other thinges mo doth he, as he maye by hys power.

⁴ Lorde, let me knowe myne ende, and the numbre of my dayes: that I may be certified what I want.

⁹ Thou hast set them their boundes, which they maye not passe, that they turne not agayne to couer the earth.

²⁹ But when thou hydest thy face, they are sorowfull: if thou takest awaye their breth, they dye, & are turned agayne to their dust.

³⁵ in comparison of whom al they that dwel vpon the earth, are to be reputed as nothinge. He handleth accordinge to hys wyl, among the powers of heauen & amonge the inhabytours of the earthe: and there is none that maye resyste hys hande, or say: what doest thou?

²⁶ Nowe the interpretacyon of the thynge is thys: Mane, God hath nombred the kyngdome, and brought it to an ende:

³⁰ The very same nyghte was Balthazar the kynge of the Caldees slayne,

²⁴ .Lxx. weakes are determed ouer thy people, and ouer the holy citie: that the wickednesse maye be consumed, that the sinne maye haue an ende, that the offence may be reconcyled, and to bringe in euerlastinge righteousnesse, to fulfill the visions and the Prophetes, and to annoynte the most holy one.

³⁶ The kinge shal do what him lyst, he shal exalte and magnifye him selfe agaynste all, that is God. Yea he shall speake maruelous thinges against the God of al goddes, wherin he shall prospere, so longe till the wrathe be fulfilled, for the conclusyon is deuysed alredy.

²⁰ But God sayed vnto hym: Thou fole, thys nyghte wyll they fetche awaye thy soule agayne from the. Then whose shall these thinges be which thou haste prouyded?

²⁶ and hath made of one bloude all nacyons of men, for to dwell on al the face of the earth, and hath assygned before howe longe tyme, and also the endes of theyr inhabitacyon,

²⁷ And as it is appoynted vnto men that they shall ones dye, and then commeth the iudgemente,

¹⁸ and am alyue, and was dead. And beholde I am alyue for euer more and haue the kayes of hell, & of death.

⁷ And wryte vnto the tydinges bringer of the congregacyon of Philadelphia, this sayeth he that is holy and true, which hath the keye of Dauid, which openeth and no man shutteth, and shutteth & no man openeth.
