² I haue disceyued no man, yet must myne eye continue in heuynesse.

⁶ And therto her enemye Phenennah vexed her a good in castinge her in the thete, howe the Lorde had made her barren. ⁷ And so did she yere by yere as oft as she went vp to the house of the Lord. And so chafed her, wherfore Hannah wepte and ate not.

⁴ Thus he that calleth vpon God, & whom God heareth, is mocked of hys neyghboure: the godlye and innocent man is laughed to scorne.

⁹ Shall that helpe you, when he calleth you to rekoning. Thynke ye to begyle him, as a man is begyled?

²⁰ My frendes laugh me to scorne, but myne eye poureth out teares vnto God.

³ Suffre me a litle that I may speake also, and then laugh my wordes to scorne, yf ye wyll.

¹³ Hys soule shall dwell at ease, and his sede shal possesse the lande.

¹⁴ I behaued my selfe as though it had bene my frende or my brother, I went heuely, as one that mourneth for hys mother. ¹⁵ But in myne aduersitie they reioyse, & gather them together. Yea, the very lame come together agaynste me vnwares, makynge mowes at me, and ceasse not. ¹⁶ With the gredy and scorneful hypocrites they gnasshed vpon me with their teeth.

¹ Who so dwelleth vnder the defence of the most hyest, & abydeth vnder the shadowe of the almightye.

³⁹ They that passed by, reuyled hym wagginge their heades ⁴⁰ & sayinge: Thou that destroyest the temple of God and buyldest it in thre dayes: saue thy selfe. If thou be the sonne of God: come doune from the crosse. ⁴¹ Lykewise also the hye priestes mockynge hym with the scrybes and elders sayde. ⁴² He saued other, him selfe he can not saue. If he be the kinge of Israel let him now come doune from the crosse, and we wyll beleue him. ⁴³ He trusted in God, let hym deliuer hym now, if he wyl haue him: for he sayde I am the sonne of God. ⁴⁴ That same also the theues which were crucified with him cast in his teth.
