²² Hys soule draweth on to destruccyon, & hys lyfe to death.

²³ For the Lord wyll goo aboute & smyte Egipte. And when he seyth the bloud vpon the vpper door poste & on the two syde postes, he wyl passe ouer the doore, & wyll not suffre the destroyer to come in to youre house to plage you.

⁶ The Lorde kylleth and maketh a lyue, bryngeth doune to hell & fetcheth vp agayne

¹⁶ And when the Aungel stretched out his hand vnto Ierusalem to haue destroyed it, the Lord had compassion to do that euyl, and sayde to the Aungel that destroyed the people: it is suffycyent: let thyne hande cease. And the aungell was at the thressinge place of Areunah the Iebusite.

⁷ O remembre, that my lyfe is but a wynde, and that myne eye shall nomore se the pleasures

²¹ A fearfull sounde is euer in hys eares, and when it is peace: yet feareth he destruccion:

¹ My breth fayleth, my dayes are shortened. I am harde at deathes dore.

¹³ Though I tary neuer so moch, yet the graue is my house, & I must make my bed in the darcke. ¹⁴ I call corrupcion my father, and the wormes call I my mother and my syster. ¹⁵ What helpeth then my longe taryenge? Or, who wyll fulfyll the thynge, that I loke for? ¹⁶ All that I haue, shall go downe in to the pyt, and lye with me in the duste.

²⁸ Yea he hath delyuered my soule from destruccyon, and my lyfe, that it seeth the lyght.

⁴ Because of the woordes of thy lippes, I haue kepte me from the workes of men, in the waye of the murtherer.

³ Thou Lord hast brought my soule out of hell: thou hast kepte my lyfe, where as they go downe to the pyt.

³ For my soule is full of trouble, and my lyfe draweth nye vnto hell. ⁴ I am counted as one of them that go downe vnto the pitte, I am euen as a man that hath no strength. ⁵ Fre among the dead, like vnto them that lye in the graue, whyche be out of remembraunce, and are cutte away from thy hand.

¹⁰ I thought I shulde haue gone to the gates of hell in my best age, and haue wanted the resydue of my yeares.

²³ And immediatly the aungell of the Lorde smote hym, because he gaue not God the glorye, and he was eaten of wormes, and gaue vp the ghost.

¹⁰ Neyther murmure ye as some of them murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

¹¹ And they had a kynge ouer them, whych is the angel of the bottomlesse pyt, whose name in the Hebrue tonge, is Abodon, but in the Greke tonge, Appollion.
