³³ Then Pilate entred into the iudgemente hall agayne, and called Iesus, and sayd vnto hym: arte thou the kynge of the Iewes?

⁶ Yet haue I sette my kyng vpon my holy hyll of syon. ⁷ As for me, I wyll preache the law, wherof the Lord hath sayde vnto me: Thou arte my sonne, this day haue I begotten the. ⁸ Desyre of me, and I shall geue the Heathen for thyne enherytaunce. Yea the vttermost partes of the worlde for thy possessyon. ⁹ Thou shalt rule them wyth a rodde of yron, and breake them in peces lyke an earthen vessell. ¹⁰ Be wyse nowe therfore, O ye Kinges, be warned, ye that are iudges of the earthe. ¹¹ Serue the Lorde wyth feare, and reioyse before hym wyth reuerence. ¹² Kysse the sonne, lest the Lorde be angrye and so ye peryshe from the ryght way. For his wrath shalbe kindled shortly: blessed are all they that put their trust in hym.

⁶ For vnto vs a chylde shalbe borne, and vnto vs a sonne shalbe geuen. Vpon his shoulder shall the kyngedome lye, and he shalbe called with hys owne name. The wonderous geuer of councel, the myghty God, the euerlastinge father, the prynce of peace, ⁷ he shall make no ende to encrease the kyngedome and peace, and shall sytte vpon the seate of Dauid, and in his kyngedome, to set vp the same, to stablyshe it wyth equyte and ryghteousnesse, from thence forth for euermore. This shall the gelousy of the Lorde of hostes brynge to paste.

⁵ Beholde, the tyme commeth, sayeth the Lorde, that I will rayse vp the ryghtuous braunche of Dauid, which shall beare rule, and discusse matters wyth wysdome, & shall sett vp equyte & rightuousnes agayne in the earth.

¹⁵ for the Lorde hath taken awaye thy punyshemente, and turned backe thyne enemyes. The kynge of Israell, euen the Lorde hymselfe is with the: so that thou nedest no more to feare any mysfortune.

⁹ Reioyce thou greatly, O doughter Syon, be glad, O doughter Ierusalem. For lo, thy king commeth vnto the, euen the ryghteous & Sauioure: Lowly and simple is he, he rydeth vpon an asse, & vpon the foale of an asse.

¹¹ Iesus stode before the debitie: and the debytie axed hym saying: Art thou the Kynge of the Iewes? Iesus sayed vnto hym: Thou sayest,

² And Pylate axed hym: arte thou the kynge of the Iewes? And he aunswered and sayde vnto hym: thou sayest it.

³⁸ saying: Blessed be the kyng that cometh in the name of the Lorde: peace in heauen, and glorye in the hyest. ³⁹ And some of the Phariseis of the companye sayde vnto him: Mayster rebuke thy disciples. ⁴⁰ He aunswered and sayed vnto them: I tell you, yf these shoulde holde theyr peace, the stones woulde crye.

³ And Pylate apposed him saiynge: art thou the kynge of the Iewes? He aunswered him and sayde: thou sayest it. ⁴ Then said Pilate to the hye pryestes, & to the people: I fynde no faute in this man.

⁴⁹ Nathanael aunswered & sayde vnto him: Rabbi, thou art the sonne of God, thou art the kynge of Israel.

¹³ toke braunches of palme trees, and went and met hym, and cryed: Hosanna, blessed is he that in the name of the Lorde cometh kynge of Israell.

¹⁵ feare not doughter of Syon, beholde thy kynge cometh, sittynge on an asses colte.

²⁸ Then led they Iesus from Cayphas into the hall of iudgement. It was in the morning and they themselues went not into the iudgement hall leaste they shoulde be defyled, but that they might eate the paschall lambe. ²⁹ Pylate then wente oute vnto them, and sayde: what accusacion bringe ye agaynste this man?

³⁷ Pilate sayed to him: Arte thou a kynge then? Iesus aunswered: Thou sayest that I am a kynge. For thys cause was I borne, and for thys cause came I into the worlde, that I shoulde beare wytnes vnto the trueth. And al that are of the trueth heare my voyce.

³ & sayde: hayle kyng of the Iewes: and they smote him on the face.

⁹ and went agayne into the iudgement hall, and sayde vnto Iesus: whence are thou? But Iesus gaue hym none aunswere.

¹² And from thence forth sought Pylate meanes to louse him: but the Iewes cryed, saiynge: yf thou let hym go, thou arte not Cesars frende. For whosoeuer maketh hym selfe a kynge, is agaynst Cesar.

¹⁹ And Pylate wrote hys tytle and put it on the crosse. The wrytyng was Iesus of Nazareth, kynge of the Iewes. ²⁰ Thys tytle red manye of the Iewes. For the place where Iesus was crucifyed, was nye to the cytye. And it was wrytten in Hebrue, Greke and Latyn. ²¹ Then sayde the hye priestes of the Iewes to Pylate. Wryte not kynge of the Iewes: but that he sayde. I am kyng of the Iewes. ²² Pilate aunswered: what I haue wrytten that haue I wrytten.

³⁴ For Dauid is not ascended into heauen: but he sayd: The Lord said to my Lord, syt on my ryght hande ³⁵ vntyll I make thy fooes thy fote stole. ³⁶ So therefore let all the house of Israell knowe for a surety, that God hath made the same Iesus whom ye haue crucifyed, bothe Lord and Christe.

¹³ I geue the charge in the syght of GOD, whiche quickeneth all thynges, & before Iesu Christe whiche vnder Poncyus Pylate wytnessed a good wytnessynge,
