²⁵ And so Iosua made a couenaunt wyth the people the same daye, and set ordynaunces and lawes before them in Sichem.

²⁵ And Moses cried vnto the Lorde, and he shewed hym a tree: and he cast it in to the waters, and they waxed swete. There he made them an ordinaunce & a law & there he tempted them,

³ And Moses came & tolde the people all the wordes of the Lorde & all the lawes. And all the people aunswered with one voyce & sayd: all the wordes which the Lord hath sayd, will we do.

⁷ And he toke the boke of the appoyntment & red it in the audience of the people. And thei sayd. All that the Lord hath sayd, we wil do and heare. ⁸ And Moyses toke the bloude and sprynkeld it on the people and sayd: beholde, this is the bloude of the appointment which the Lorde hath made with you vpon al these woordes.

² The Lord our God made an appoyntment with vs in Horeb. ³ The Lord made not thys bond wyth our fathers, but wyth vs, we are they whyche are all here a lyue thys daye.

¹ These are the wordes of the appoyntment which the Lord commaunded Moses to make with the chyldren of Israell in the lande of Moab, besyde the appoyntment which he made with them in Horeb.

¹⁰ Ye stand here this day euery one of you before the Lord your God, both the heades of your trybes your elders, youre officers & all the men of Israel: ¹¹ youre chyldren, your wiues and the straungers that are in thyne host, from the hewer of thy wood vnto the drawer of thy water: ¹² that thou shuldest come vnder the appoyntment of the Lorde thy God, & vnder his oth which the Lord the God maketh with the this day. ¹³ For to make the a people vnto him selfe, & that he maye be vnto the a God, as he hath sayde vnto the & he hath sworne vnto thy fathers Abraham, Isaac and Iacob. ¹⁴ Also I make not this bonde and this othe with you onlye: ¹⁵ but both with him that standeth here with vs this daye before the Lorde oure god, and also with him that is not here with vs this daye.

¹ And Iosua gathered all the trybes of Israel to Sichem, & called for the elders of Israel, and for theyr heades Iudges and offycers whiche presented them selues before God.

²⁶ And Iosua wrote these wordes in the boke of the lawe of God, and toke a great stone and pytched it on ende in the sayde place euen vnder an ocke that stode in the sanctuarye of the Lorde.

¹⁷ And Iehoiada made a bonde both betwene the Lorde and the kynge, & betwene the people and the Lorde, that they shulde be the Lordes people: & also betwene the kynge and the people.

¹² And they made a couenaunt to seke the Lorde God of their fathers, wyth all their hertes, & all their soules:

¹⁵ And all Iuda reioysed in the othe, for they hath sworne wyth all their hertes, and sought him with al their luste, & he was founde of them. And the Lorde gaue them reste rounde aboute.

¹⁶ And Iehoiada made a bonde betwene him and all the people and the kynge, to be the Lordes people.

¹⁰ Now haue I in my hert to stryke a couenaunt with the Lorde God of Israel: that his wrath maye cease.

²⁹ Then the Kynge sent & geathered to geather all the elders of Iuda & Ierusalem. ³⁰ And the kyng went vp in to the house of the Lorde, & all the men of Iuda and the enhabiters of Ierusalem & the Preastes & Leuites and all the people great and smalle: and reade all the wordes of the boke of the couenaunt that was founde in the house of the Lorde. ³¹ And the kynge stode at hys standynge & made a couenaunt before the Lorde, to folowe the Lord and to kepe his commaundementes, his wytnesse and his statutes with al his herte and with all hys soule & to fulfyl the wordes of the appoyntment wrytten in the sayde boke. ³² And he made to come forth all that were founde in Ierusalem and Beniamin, and the enhabyters of Ierusalem promesed to kepe the couenaunt of that God whiche was the God of theyr fathers.

³⁸ And in all thys make we a sure couenaunt, and wryte it, and let oure prynces, Leuites, & priestes seale it.

²⁸ And the other people, the priestes, Leuytes, Porters, syngers, Nethinims, and al they that had separated them selues from the people in the landes vnto the lawe of God, with theyr wyues sonnes and doughters, as many as coulde vnderstande it, ²⁹ and theyr Lordes that had rule of them, receyued it for theyr brethren. And they came to sweare, and to bynde them selues wyth an othe to walke in Gods lawe, whiche was geuen by Moses the seruaunte of God, that they wolde obserue and do accordynge vnto all the commaundementes, iudgementes, and statutes of the Lorde oure GOD:
