² commaunde the chyldrene of Israell that they brynge vnto the, pure oyle oliue beaten for lyghtes to poure into the lampes alwaye,

²⁰ And commaund the children of Israel that they geue the pure oyle olyue beaten for the lyghtes to poure all waye into the lampes. ²¹ In the tabernacle of witnesse wythout the vayle which is before the wytnesse: & Aaron & hys sonnes shall dresse it both euen & mornyng before the Lorde: and it shalbe a dewty for euer vnto youre generacyons after you to be geuen of the chyldren of Israel.

³⁷ & the pure candelstycke, and the lampes prepared therunto with all the vessels therof, and the oyle for lyghtes,

²⁴ And he put the candelsticke in the tabernacle of wytnes ouer agaynste the table in the south syde of the habitation,

² speake vnto Aaron and say vnto him: when thou puttest on the lampes se that they lyght al seuen vpon the forefront of the candelstyck. ³ And Aaron did euen so, and put the lampes vpon the forefront of the candelstycke, as the Lord commaunded Moses, ⁴ & the worke of the candelstyck was of styffe golde: both the shaft and the floures therof. And accordyng vnto the visyon whyche the Lord had shewed Moses euen so he made the candelstyck.

³ And yer the lamp of God went out. Samuel layd him doune to slepe, in the temple of the Lord, where the arcke of God was. ⁴ And the Lorde called Samuel: & he sayd: here am I,

¹¹ burnyng vnto the Lorde euery morninge & euery euen burntofferinges & swete cense: & the shewbread put in ordre vpon a pure table: & the candelsticke of goulde with the lampes of the same, to be light euery euen. For we kepe the watche of the Lord oure God: but ye haue forsaken him.

¹⁰⁵ Nun. Thy woorde is a lanterne vnto my fete and a light vnto my pathes.

¹³⁰ When thy woorde goeth forthe, it geueth light & vnderstandyng, euen vnto babes.

²³ For the commaundement is a lanterne, and the lawe a lyghtie, a chastening, and nurtour is the waye of lyfe:

²⁰ Yf any man want lyght, let hym loke vpon the lawe and the testimony, whether they speake not after thys meaninge.

² The spyryt of the Lorde shall lyghte vpon it, the spyryte of wisedome and vnderstandynge: the spirit of councell, & strength: the spirite of knowledge, and of the feare of God:

¹⁶ the people which sate in darkenes, sawe great light, & to them which sate in the regyon and shadowe of death, light is begonne to shine.

¹⁶ Let your light so shyne before men that they maye se your good workes, and gloryfye your father which is in heauen.

¹ Then the kingdome of heauen shalbe lykened vnto ten virgins, which toke their lampes and went to mete the bridegrom, ² Fyue of them were folyshe, & fyue were wise. ³ The folyshe toke theyr lampes, but toke none oyle with them. ⁴ But the wise toke oyle with them in their vessels with their lampes also. ⁵ Whyle the brydegrome taried, al slombred and slepte. ⁶ And euen at midnight there was a crye made: beholde, the brydegrome cometh, goo out againste hym. ⁷ Then all those virgins arose, and prepared their lampes. ⁸ And the folishe sayed to the wise: gyue vs of your oyle for oure lampes go out.

⁷⁹ To geue lyght to them that sate in darcknes & in shadowe of death, and to guyde oure fete into the waye of peace.

³⁵ Let youre loynes be gerdde aboute, & your lyghtes brennynge,

⁴ In it was lyfe, and the lyfe was the lyght of men,

⁹ That was a true lyght, which lyghted all men that come into the worlde.

³⁵ He was a burninge and a shyninge lyght and ye woulde for a season haue reioysed in his lyght:

¹² Then spake Iesus agayne vnto them, saiynge. I am the lyghte of the worlde. He that foloweth me, shall not walke in darkenes: but shall haue the lyghte of lyfe.

¹⁸ to open theyr eyes, that they myght turne from darckenes to lyght, and from the power of Satan vnto God: that they maye receiue forgeuenes of synnes, and inheritaunce amonge them whyche are sanctyfyed by fayth in me.

⁶ For it is God that commaunded the lighte to shyne out of darknes, whiche hath shyned in oure hertes, for to geue the lyghte of the knoweledge of the glorye of God, in the face of Iesus Christe.

¹⁷ that the God of oure Lord Iesus Christ, and the father of glorye myghte geue vnto you the spyryte of wysdome, and open to you the knoweledge of hym selfe, ¹⁸ and lyghten the eyes of youre myndes that ye myght knowe what that hope is, where vnto he hath called you, and what the ryches of hys gloryous inheritaunce is vpon the saynctes,

⁸ Ye were ones darckenes, but are nowe lyghte in the Lorde. Walke as chyldren of lyghte. ⁹ For the fruite of the spirite is in all goodnes, ryghtuousnes and trueth. ¹⁰ Accepte that whiche is pleasinge to the Lorde: ¹¹ and haue no fellowshyp wyth the vnfruitfull workes of darckenes: but rather rebuke them. ¹² For it is shame euen to name those thinges, whiche are done of them in secrete: ¹³ but all thinges, when they are rebuked of the lyghte are manifeste. For what soeuer is manifeste, that same is lyght. ¹⁴ Wherfore he sayth: awake thou that slepest, and stand vp from death, and Christ shall geue the lyght.

¹⁵ that ye maye be fauteles & pure, the sonnes of God wythout rebuke, in the middes of a croked and a peruerse nacyon, amonge whiche se that ye shine as lightes in the worlde, ¹⁶ holding fast the worde of life, vnto my reioysing in the daye of Christe, that I haue not runne in vayne, neyther haue laboured in vaine.
