²⁴ speake vnto the chyldren of Israel and saye. The fyrst daye of the seuenth moneth shalbe a reast of rembraunce vnto you, to blowe hornes in an holy feast it shalbe, ²⁵ and ye shall do no laboryous worke therin, and ye shall offer sacryfice vnto the Lord.

¹ And the Lorde spake vnto Moses saying: ² Make the two trompettes of beaten syluer, that thou mayst vse them to call the congregacion together, & when the hoste shal iourney. ³ When they blowe wt them, al the multitude shal resorte to the, vnto the dore of the tabernacle of wytnesse. ⁴ If but one trumpet blowe onlye, then the princes which are heades ouer the thousandes of Israel shal come vnto the. ⁵ And when ye trompe the fyrst tyme, the hostes that lye on the east partes shal go forward. ⁶ And when ye trompe the seconde tyme, then the hostes that lye on the south syde shal take their iourney: for they shal trompe when they take their iourneyes. ⁷ And in getheryng the congregacion together, ye shall blowe and not trompe. ⁸ And the sonnes of Aaron the preastes shal blowe the trompettes & shal haue them and it shalbe a lawe vnto you for euer and amonge youre chyldren after you. ⁹ And when ye shall go to warre in youre lande agaynst your enemyes that wexe you, ye shall trompe with the trompettes and ye shalbe remembred before the Lord your God and saued from youre enemyes. ¹⁰ Also when ye be mery in your feast dayes and in the fyrst dayes of your monethes, ye shall blowe the trompettes ouer your burnt sacryfyces and peaceofferynges, that it maye be a remembraunce of you before your GOD. I am the Lord youre God.

²⁸ And al Israel brought the Arcke of the Lordes couenaunt wyth shoutynge and blowynge of hornes, & with trompettes and symbales that sounded, and wyth psalteries and harpes.

⁶ Vpon the fyrst day of the seuenth moneth beganne they to offre burntsacryfyces vnto the Lorde. But the foundacyon of the temple of the Lorde was not yet layed.

⁷³ And the prestes and Leuites, the Porters, the syngers, and the other of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel dwelt in theyr cytyes. Nowe when the seuen moneth drue nye, and the chyldren of Israel were in theyr cytyes,

³ Blowe vp the trompettes in the new mone, vpon our solempne feast daye.

¹⁵ Blessed is the people, O Lorde, that can reioyse in the, & walketh in the lyghte of thy countenauce.

¹³ Then shall the greate trompette be blowen, so that those whiche haue bene destroyed in the Assyryans lande, and those that be scatred abroad in Egypte: shall come and worshyppe the Lord at Ierusalem, vpon the holy mount.

¹⁴ the Lorde God shalbe sene aboue them, and his dartes shal go forth as the lyghteninge. The Lorde God shall blowe the trompet, and shall come forth as a storme oute of the south.

¹⁵ And he sayed to them: Go ye into all the worlde, and preache the glad tydynges to all creatures, ¹⁶ he that beleueth & is baptised, shall be saued. But he that beleueth not, shalbe damned.

¹⁴ But how shall they call on hym, on whom they beleued not? howe shall they beleue no hym of whom they haue not hearde? howe shall they heare withoute a preacher? ¹⁵ And howe shall they preache except they be sent? As it is wrytten: howe beautyfull are the fete of them whiche brynge glad tydynges of peace, and bryng glad tydynges of good thynges. ¹⁶ But they haue not all obeyed to the Gospell. For Esayas sayeth: Lorde, who shal beleue oure saiynges? ¹⁷ So then fayth cometh by the worde of God. ¹⁸ But I axe. Haue they not hearde? No doubte, theyr sounde went out into all landes, and theyr wordes into the endes of the worlde.

¹⁶ that I should be the minister of Iesu Christe amonge the Gentyles, and should minister the glad tydynges of God, that the gentils myghte be an acceptable offerynge, sanctifyed by the holye ghoste. ¹⁷ I haue therfore where of I maye reioyce in Christe Iesu, in those thynges which partayne to God. ¹⁸ For I dare not speake of anye of those thynges whiche Christe hath not wrought by me, to make the gentyls obedient, with worde and dede, ¹⁹ in myghty sygnes and wonders, by the power of the spirite of God: so that from Hierusalem and the coastes rounde about vnto Illiricum, I haue fylled al countreys with the glad tydynges of Christe.

²⁷ so that ye shal do no laborious worke therin. And ye shall offer a burntoffring of a swete sauoure vnto the Lord two young bullockes, and a ram, & .vij. lambes of a yere olde a pece,

⁸ And ye shall offer a burntofferyng vnto the Lorde of a swete sauour: one bullocke, and a ram, & .vij. lambes of a yere olde a pece, without faute

³⁶ And ye shall offer a burntofferyng of a swete sauoure vnto the Lorde: one bullocke, one ram and seuen yerelynge lambes wythout spott.

¹⁰ By the whiche wyll we are sanctyfyed, by the offerynge of the bodye of Ieu Christ once for all. ¹¹ And euery priest is redy daylie mynistring and ofte tymes offereth one maner of offerynge whyche can neuer take awaye synnes. ¹² But thys man after he had offered one sacryfyce for synnes, satte hym downe for euer on the right hande of God, ¹³ and from henceforth taryeth tyl hys foes be made hys fote stole. ¹⁴ For wyth one offeryng hath he made perfecte for euer, them that are sanctyfyed.

³⁸ This is that which thou shalt offer vpon the alter .ij. lambes of one yere olde, daye by daye for euer, ³⁹ the one thou shalte offer in the mornynge and the other at euen. ⁴⁰ And vnto the one lambe take a tenthe deale of floure mingled wt the fourth parte of an hinne of beten oyle, & the fourth parte of an hinne of wyne for a drynckeofferyng, ⁴¹ And the other lambe thou shalt offer at euen and shalte doo therto accordyng to the meateofferynge and drinke offerynge in the mornynge, to be an odoure of a swete sauoure of the sacrifice of the Lorde ⁴² And it shabe a continuall burntofferynge amonge youre chyldren after you, in the dore of the tabernacle of wytnesse before the Lorde where I wyll mete you to speake vnto you there.

⁹ Commaunde Aaron and his sonnes saying: this is the law of the burntoffring. The burntoffering shal be vpon the harth of the alter all nyght vnto the mornyng, and the fyre of the alter shall burne therin.

¹⁴ And when a straunger dwelleth amonge you and wyll offer Passeouer vnto the Lord accordynge to the ordinaunce of Passeouer and maner therof shal he offre it. And ye shall haue one lawe both for the straunger & for him that was borne at home in the land.

¹¹ Thys is the maner that shall be done vnto one oxe, one ram a lambe or a kyd. ¹² And accordynge to the numbre of suche offerynges, thou shalte encrease the meate offerynges, & the drinckofferings.

²⁴ when ought is commytted ignorantlye before the eyes of the congregation, then all the multitude shall offer a calfe for a burnt offerynge to be a swete sauoure vnto the Lorde, & the meat offeryng and the drynke offering therto, accordynge to the maner: and an he gote for a synne offryng.

³ And saye vnto them. Thys is the offerynge whyche ye shall offer vnto the Lorde two Lambes of a yere olde wythout spotte daye by day to be a burnt offerynge perpetually. ⁴ One Lambe thou shalt offer in the mornyng and the other at euen. ⁵ And therto the tenthe parte of an Epha of floure for a meate offerynge myngled with beaten oyle, the fourth parte of an Hin: ⁶ whych is a dayly offerynge ordeyned in the mounte Sinai vnto a swete sauour in the sacrifice of of the Lord. ⁷ And the drynkeofferinge of the same the .iiij. part of an Hin vnto one Lambe, & poure the drynke offering in the holy place, to be good drynke vnto the Lord. ⁸ And the other Lambe thou shalte offer at euen, wyth the meatofferyng & the dryncke offeryng after the maner of the mornynge: a sacrifyce of a swete sauour vnto the Lorde.

This is the burntofferynge of euery moneth thorow out all the monethes of the yeare, ¹⁵ and one he gote for a synneoffering vnto the Lorde, which shal be offered with the dayly burntofferyng & hys drynkeofferynge.

⁴ And helde the feaste of Tabernacles, as it is wrytten, and offered burntsacryfyces dayly in order, according to the custome, day by daye.

²⁹ And this shalbe an ordynaunce for euer vnto you. And euen in the tenth day of the seuenth moneth, ye shall humble youre soules and shall do no worke at all: whether it be one of youre selues or a straunger that soiourneth among you, ³⁰ for the daye shal an attonement be made for you to clense you from all your synnes before the lord, and ye shal be cleane. ³¹ It shalbe a Sabboth of rest vnto you, and ye shal humble your soules, and it shalbe an ordynaunce foreuer.

²⁶ And the Lord spake vnto Moses sayinge: ²⁷ also the tenth day of the self seuenth moneth, is a day of an attonement, and shalbe on holy feast vnto you, and ye shal humble youre soules and offer sacrifyce vnto the Lorde. ²⁸ Moreouer ye shal do no worke the same day, for it is a daye of attonement to make an attonement for you before the Lord your god. ²⁹ For whatsoeuer soule it be that humbleth not hym selfe that daye, he shalbe destroyed from amonge hys people. ³⁰ And whatsoeuer soule do any maner worke that daye, the same I wyll destroye from among hys people. ³¹ Se that ye do no maner worke therfore. And it shalbe a lawe for euer vnto youre generacyons after you in al youre dwellynges. ³² A Sabboth of reste it shalbe vnto you and ye shall humble youre soules. The .ix. daye of the moneth at euen and so forth from euen to euen agayne, ye shall kepe your sabboth.

²¹ And euen there at the water besyde Ahaua, caused I a fastynge to be proclamed, that we myghte humble oure selues before oure God, to seke of him a ryght waye for vs, and oure chyldren and all oure substaunce.

¹³ Neuerthelesse, when they were sycke, I put on a sacke cloth: I humbled my soule with fastyng, and my prayer turned into myne owne bosome.

⁵ They that sowe in teares, shall reape in ioye. ⁶ He that now goeth in hys waye wepyng and beareth forthe good sede, shall come agayne with ioye, & bryng hys sheaues wyth hym.

¹² And at the same tyme shall the Lorde of Hostes call men to wepinge, mourninge, to baldnesse & puttynge on of sacke clothe.

³ Wherfore fast we (saye they) and thou seist it not? we put oure lyues to straytnesse, & thou regardest it not? ⁴ Beholde, when ye fast, your lust remayneth still: for ye do no lesse vyolence to youre detters: lo, ye falle to stryfe and debate, and to smite hym wyth youre fyst that speaketh vnto you. Ye fast not (as som tyme) that your voyce might be hearde aboue. ⁵ Thyncke ye this fast pleaseth me, that a man shoulde chasten him self for a daye, and to writhe his head aboute lyke an hoke in an hearry cloth, and to lye vpon the earth? Shoulde that be called fasting, or a daye that pleaseth the Lord.

³ & that they should say vnto the priestes, which were in the house of the Lord of hostes, & to the prophetes: should I wepe in the fyfte moneth, and absteyne, as I haue done now cerrtain yeares?

¹⁰ Moreouer, vpon the house of Dauid & vpon the cytesins of Ierusalem wil I poure oute the spirite of grace & prayer, so that they shal loke vpon me, whom they haue pearsed: & they shal bewepe him, as men mourne for their onely begotten sonne: yea & be sory for him, as men are sorye for their fyrst childe.

⁴ Blessed are they that morne, for they shalbe comforted.

³ I tell you naye: but excepte ye repente, ye shall all lykewyse peryshe.

⁹ When muche tyme was spente and sailinge was nowe ieoperdous, because also that we had ouerlonge fasted, Paule put them in remembraunce,

⁶ Thys we muste remember, that oure olde man is crucified wyth hym also, that the bodye of synne myght vtterlye be destroyed, that hence forthe we should not be seruauntes of synne.

²⁷ but I tame my bodye and bringe it into subieccion, leste after that I haue preached to other, I my selfe should be a cast away.

⁹ But I nowe reioyce, not that ye were sory, but that ye so sorowed, that ye repented. For ye sorowed Godlye, so that in nothyng ye were hurt by vs. ¹⁰ For Godly sorowe causeth repentaunce vnto saluacyon, not to be repented of: when worldlye sorowe causeth death. ¹¹ Beholde, what diligence thys Godlye sorowe that ye toke, hath wroughte in you: yea it caused you to cleare your selues. It caused indignacyon, it caused feare, it caused desyre, it caused a feruent mynde, it caused punyshement. For in all thynges ye haue shewed your selues that ye are cleare in that matter.

⁸ Drawe nye to God, and he wyll drawe nye to you. Clense youre handes ye synners, and purge youre hertes ye wauerynge mynded. ⁹ Suffer afflictyons: sorowe ye and wepe. Let youre laughter be turned to mornynge and youre ioye to heauynes. ¹⁰ Cast doune your selues before the Lorde, and he shal lyfte you vp.

³ & wyl offre an offering vpon the fyre vnto the Lord, whether it be a burntofferyng or a specyall vowe or frewyllofferyng or yf it be in your pryncipall feastes to make a swete sauoure vnto the Lorde, of the oxen or of the flocke. ⁴ Then, let him that offereth hys offerynge vnto the Lord, brynge also a meatofferynge of a tenth deale of floure myngled wyth the fourth parte of an hin of oyle, ⁵ and the fourth parte of an hin of wine for a drynkofferynge and offer with the burntofferyng or any other offeryng when it is a lambe. ⁶ And vnto a ram thou shalt offer a meatofferyng of two tenth deales of floure, myngled wyth the thyrde parte of an hin of oyle, ⁷ and to a drynckofferynge thou shalt offer the thyrde parte of an hin of wyne, to be a swete sauoure vnto the Lorde. ⁸ When thou offeryst an oxe to a burntofferynge or in any speciall vowe or peaceofferyng vnto the Lord, ⁹ then thou shalt brynge vnto an oxe, a meatofferyng of .iij. tenth deales of floure mingled wt an hyn of oyle. And thou shalt brynge for a drynkeofferinge halfe an hyn of wyne, ¹⁰ that is an offeryng of a swete sauoure vnto the Lord.

³ But of thys maner shall Aaron goo in to the holy place: with a bullock for a synneofferyng, and a ram for a burntofferyng.

⁶ besyde the burntofferyng of the moneth and his meatofferynge & besyde the dayly burntofferyng & his meatofferyng, and the drynkofferynges of the same: accordynge vnto the maner of them for a sauoure of swetnesse in the sacryfice of the Lord.

¹⁰ Yet hath it pleased the Lorde to smyte him with infirmite, that when he had made hys soule an offerynge for synne, he myght se longe lasting sede. And this deuyce of the Lord shall prospere in hys hande.

²⁴ .Lxx. weakes are determed ouer thy people, and ouer the holy citie: that the wickednesse maye be consumed, that the sinne maye haue an ende, that the offence may be reconcyled, and to bringe in euerlastinge righteousnesse, to fulfill the visions and the Prophetes, and to annoynte the most holy one. ²⁵ Vnderstande this then, and marcke it well, that from the tyme it shalbe concluded, to go and repayre Ierusalem againe, vnto Christ (or the annointed) prince: there shalbe seuen weakes. Then shal the stretes and walles be buylded again .lxij. weakes, but wyth harde troublous time. ²⁶ After these .lxii. weakes shall Christ be slaine and they shall haue no pleasure in hym. Then shall there come a people with the Prince, and destroye the cytie and the Sanctuarye: & his ende shall come as the water floude. But the desolacion shall continue till the ende of the battell.

²⁷ Whiche nedeth not dayelye (as yonder hye priestes) to offer vp sacrifyce, fyrste for hys own synnes, and then for the peoples synnes. For that dyd he at once for all, when he offered vp hym selfe.

²⁵ not to offer hym selfe, often as the hye prieste entreth into the holye place euerye yeare wt straunge bloud ²⁶ for then must he haue often suffered sence the worlde beganne. But nowe in the ende of the worlde hath he appered ones to put synne to flyghte by the offerynge vp of hym self. ²⁷ And as it is appoynted vnto men that they shall ones dye, and then commeth the iudgemente, ²⁸ euen so Christ was ones offered to take away the synnes of many, and vnto them that loke for hym, shall he appere agayne wythoute synne vnto saluacyon.

²² Thou shalt obserue the feaste of wekes wt the fyrst fruites of wheate herueste, and the feast ingaderyng at the yeares ende.

The fyrst day shall be a daye of rest, & the eyght daye shall be a daye of rest. ⁴⁰ And ye shall take you the fyrst day, the frutes of goodly trees and the braunches of palme trees and the bowes of thicke trees, and willowes of the brooke, & shall reioyce before the Lord .vij. dayes. ⁴¹ And ye shall kepe it holy day vnto the Lorde .vij. dayes in the yere. And it shall be a lawe for euer vnto youre chyldren after you, that ye kepe that feaste in the seuenth moneth. ⁴² And ye shall dwell in boothes seuen dayes: euen all that are Israelites borne, shall dwell in boothes, ⁴³ that youre chyldrene after you maye knowe how that I made the chyldren of Israell dwell in boothes, when I brought them out of the lande of Egypt: for I am the Lord your God.

¹³ Thou shalt obserue the feast of the tabernacles .vij. dayes long, after that thou hast gathered in thy corne & thy wine. ¹⁴ And thou shalte reioyce in that thy feast, both thou & thy sonne thy daughter, thy seruaunt, thy mayd, the Leuite, the straunger, the fatherles, & the widow that are in thy cities.

¹⁴ And they founde written in the lawe how that the Lorde had commaunded by Moses that the chyldren of Israel shulde dwell in bothes in the feaste of the seuenth moneth.

¹⁸ And euerye daye from the fyrste daye vnto the last, red he in the boke of the lawe of God. And seuen dayes helde they the feaste, & on the eyght daye of the gatherynge together, accordynge vnto the maner.

²⁵ Vpon the .xv. daye of the seuenth moneth, he shall kepe the seuen dayes holy one after another, euen as the other seuen dayes: with the synoffrynge, burntoffryng, meatoffrynge, and with the oyle.

¹⁶ Euery one that remayneth then of al the people, which came against Ierusalem, shal go vp yearly, to worshippe the king (euen the Lord of hostes) & to kepe the feast of tabernacles: ¹⁷ & loke what generacion vpon earth goeth not vp to Ierusalem for to worshippe the kinge (euen the Lorde of hostes) vpon the same shal come no rayne. ¹⁸ Yf the kinred of Egypt go not vp, and come not, it shall not rayne vpon them neyther. This shalbe the plage wherwith the Lorde wil smite al heathen, that come not vp to kepe the feast of tabernacles: ¹⁹ yea, this shalbe the sinne plage of Egipt, & the sinne plage of al people that go not vp to kepe the feast of tabernacles.

¹⁴ And the worde was made flesh & dwelt amonge vs, and we sawe the glorye of it, as the glory of the onlye begotten sonne of the father, which worde was ful of grace & verite.

⁹ By fayth he remoued into the lande that was promysed hym, as into a straunge countreye, and dwelte in tabernacles: and so dyd Isaac and Iacob, heyres wyth hym of the same promes. ¹⁰ For he loked for a cytie hauing a foundacyon, whose buylder and maker is God. ¹¹ Thorow fayth Sara also receyued strength to be with chyld, and was delyuered of a child when she was past age, because she iudged hym faythfull which had promysed. ¹² And therfore spronge thereof one (& of one whiche was as good as deade) so manye in multitude, as the starres of the skye, and as the sande of the sea shore whiche is innumerable. ¹³ And they all dyed in fayth, and receyued not the promyses: but sawe them a farre of, & beleued them; and saluted them: and confessed that they were straungers and pylgrems on the earthe.

¹¹ And in the fyrste daye of your moneth, ye shall offer a burnt offerynge vnto the Lorde two yonge bullockes, and a ram, and seuen Lambes of a yere olde wythout spotte,

¹ I beseche you therfore brethren, by the mercyfulnes of God, that ye make your bodyes a quicke sacrifyce holye and acceptable vnto God, which is youre reasonable seruynge of God:

³⁶ Seuen dayes ye shall offer sacryfyce vnto the Lorde, and the .viij. daye shalbe an holy feast vnto you & ye shal offer sacryfyce vnto the Lorde. It is the ende of the feast, and ye shal do no laborious worke therin.

²⁰ And the .iij. daye .xi. bullockes twoo rammes and .xiiij. yerelynge lambes without spot: ²¹ & their meat and drynkofferynges vnto the bullockes, rammes and lambes, after the nombre of them and according to the maner. ²² And an he goote for a synoffrynge, besyde the daylye burntoffrynge and hys meate and drynke offrynges. ²³ And the fourth daye .x. bullockes two rammes and .xiiij. lambes yerelynges pure, ²⁴ and their meate and drynkofferynges vnto the bullockes, rammes & lambes, according to the nombre of them and after the maner. ²⁵ And an he goote for a synneoffrynge, besyde the dayly burntofferynge and his meate and drynkofferynges. ²⁶ And the fyfte daye .ix. bullockes two rammes and .xiiij. lambes of one yere old a pece wtout spot. ²⁷ And their meate and drynckofferynges vnto the bullockes, rammes and lambes, accordynge to the nombre of them and after the maner. ²⁸ And an he goote for a synne offerynge, besyde the dayly burntofferynge and his meate and drynkoffrynges. ²⁹ And the syxte daye .viij. bullockes twoo rammes and .xiiij. yerelynge lambes without spot. ³⁰ And theyr meate & drynkofferynges vnto the bullockes, rammes and lambes, accordyng to the maner. ³¹ And an he goote for a synneofferynge, besyde the dayly burntofferynge and hys meate and drynckofferynges. ³² And the seuenth daye .vij. bullockes .ij. rammes and .xiij. lambes that are yerelynges & pure. ³³ And their meate and drinkofferinges vnto the bullockes, rammes and lambes, accordynge to their nombre and to the maner. ³⁴ And an he goote for a synoffering, besyde the dayly burntofferyng & his meate & drynkofferynges. ³⁵ And the eyght day shalbe the conclusyon of the feaste vnto you, and ye shall do no maner laborious worck therin. ³⁶ And ye shall offer a burntofferyng of a swete sauoure vnto the Lorde: one bullocke, one ram and seuen yerelynge lambes wythout spott. ³⁷ And the meate & drynkofferynges vnto the bullocke, ram and lambes, accordynge to their nombres and accordyng to the maner. ³⁸ And an he goote for a synneofferynge besyde the dayly burntoffering and his meate and drynkofferynges. ³⁹ These thynges ye shal do vnto the Lorde in your feastes: besyde your vowes and frewyll offerynges, in youre burntofferynges meatofferynges, drynkofferynges and peace offrynges. ⁴⁰ And Moses tolde the chyldren of Israel, accordyng to all that the Lorde commaunded hym.

⁶ Sacryfyce and offerynge thou wouldeste not haue but a bodye haste thou ordeyned me: burnt offerynges and sacrifyce for synne thou hast not alowed.

⁸ I reproue the not because of thy sacryfice thy burnteofferynges are allwaye before me. ⁹ I wil take no bullockes out of thy house, nor gotes out of thy foldes.

¹⁶ For if thou haddest pleasure in sacrifice, I wolde geue it the: but thou delytest not in burntofferinges. ¹⁷ The sacryfice of God is a troubled spirit a broken and a contrite hert, O God, shalte thou not despyse.

³¹ Thys shall please the Lord better then a bullocke, that hath hornes and hoofes.

¹¹ Why offre ye so manye sacrifyces vnto me? I am discontent for the brentofferinges of wethers and with the fatnesse of fedbeastes. I haue no pleasure in the bloude of bullockes, lambes & gootes.

²² But when I broughte youre fathers out of Egipt I spake no worde vnto them of burntofferynges & sacrifyces: ²³ but this I commaunded them, sayinge: herken & obeye my voyce, & I shalbe youre God, and ye shall be my people: so that ye walcke in all the wayes, whiche I haue commaunded you, that ye maye prospere.

⁶ For I haue pleasure in louinge kindnesse, and not in offerynge: yea, in the knoweledge of God, more then in burnt sacryfyce.

¹³ In that he sayth a newe testament he hath abrogate the olde. Now that which is dysanulled and waxed olde, is readye to vanyshe awaye.

³ But wythin the second vayle was there a tabernacle, whiche is called holyeste of all ⁴ whiche had the golden senser, and the arcke of the testament ouerlayde roundabout wyth gold, wherein was the golden pot with manna, and Aarons rodde that sprong, and the tables of the testament. ⁵ Ouer the arcke were the cherubes of glorye shadowynge the seate of grace. Of whiche thynges we wyll not nowe speake perticularlye. ⁶ When these thynges were thus ordeyned the priestes wente alwayes into the tabernacle and executed the seruyce of God. ⁷ But into the seconde wente the hye priest alone, once euerye yeare, and not wythout bloude, whiche he offered for hym selfe, and for the ignoraunce of the people. ⁸ Wherewith the holy ghost this signifyinge, that the waye of holy thynges, was not yet oppened, whyle as yet the fyrst tabernacle was standynge. ⁹ Whyche was a simylytude for the tyme then present, and in whyche were offered gyftes and sacrifices that coulde not make the mynyster perfecte, as pertaynynge to the conscience, ¹⁰ wyth onelye meates and drynkes and dyuers washynges and iustifiynges of the fleshe, whyche were ordeyned vntyll the tyme of reformacyon. ¹¹ But Christe beynge an hye prieste of good thynges to come, came by a greater & a more perfecte tabernacle, not made wyth handes: that is to saye, not of thys maner buyldynge, ¹² neyther by the bloude of gotes and calues, but by hys owne bloude he entred once for al into the holye place, and founde eternal redempcyon. ¹³ For yf the bloude of oxen and of gotes and the ashes of an heyfer, when it was sprinkled, puryfyed the vncleane, as touchyng the puryfiynge of the fleshe: ¹⁴ Howe muche more shall the bloude of Christe (which thorow the eternall spyryte offred hym selfe without spot to God) pourge youre conscyences from dead workes, for to serue the lyuyng God?

⁷ And the drynkeofferinge of the same the .iiij. part of an Hin vnto one Lambe, & poure the drynke offering in the holy place, to be good drynke vnto the Lord.

¹⁴ And their drinkofferynges shal be halfe an Hin of wine vnto one bullocke, and the thyrde parte of an Hin of wyne vnto a ram & the fourthe parte of an hin vnto a lambe. This is the burntofferynge of euery moneth thorow out all the monethes of the yeare,

³ And their meatoffringes of floure myngled wyth oyle .iij. tenth deales vnto the bullocke, & two vnto the ram, ⁴ & one tenth deale vnto one lambe thorow the .vij. lambes.

⁹ and their meateoffringes of floure mingled with oyle .iij. tenthdeales to a bullocke, & .ij. to a ra ¹⁰ & al waye a tenth deale vnto a lambe, thorowe out the .vij. lambes. ¹¹ And one he goote for a synofferynge, besyde the synneofferynge of attonement and the dayly burntofferynge, & the meate and drynkoffrynges that longe to the same.

²² And an he goote for a synoffrynge, besyde the daylye burntoffrynge and hys meate and drynke offrynges.

²⁵ And an he goote for a synneoffrynge, besyde the dayly burntofferynge and his meate and drynkofferynges.

¹⁴ yee euen they that sweare in the offence of Samaria, and saye: as trulye as thy God lyueth at Dan, and as trulye as thy God lyueth at Bersaba. These shall fall, and neuer ryse vp agayne.

⁴ But they that runne after another, shall haue greate trouble. Their drinckoffringes of bloude will not I offre, neither make mencion of their name in my mouth.

⁹ For the meat and drinckofferyng shal be taken awaye from the house of the Lorde: and the priestes the Lordes mynysters shall mourne.

¹³ Gyrde you, & make youre mone, O ye prestes: mourne ye mynysters of the aulter: go youre way in, and slepe in sackcloth, O ye offycers of my God: for the meate and drinckofferynge shall be taken awaye from the house of youre God.

¹⁴ Then (no doute) he also shall turne, & forgeue: and after hys chasteninge, he shall let youre increase remayne, for meat & drynckeofferinges vnto the Lorde youre God?

³¹ Yf ye continue in my wordes: then are ye my very discyples,

⁴³ When the congregacyon was broken vp, many of the Iewes & vertuouse conuertes, folowed Paule and Barnabas, which spake to them, and exhorted them to continue in the grace of God.

⁷ that is to say, prayse, honoure and immortalytye, to them whyche continue in good doynge and seke eternall lyfe.

⁵ To whom we gaue no roume, no not for the space of an houre, as concernynge to be brought into subieccion, & that because that the truth of the Gospel might contynue with you.

⁹ Let vs not be werye, of wel doynge. For when the tyme is come, we shall reape withoute werynes.

¹³ Brethren be not werye in well doyng. ¹⁴ We are partakers of Christe, yf we kepe sure vnto the ende the fyrste substaunce,

³⁹ We are not whych wythdrawe our selues vnto dampnacyon, but partayne to faith, to the winnynge of the soule.

¹⁵ For by hym offre we the sacryfyce of laud alwayes to God: that is to saye, the frute of those lyppes, whiche confesse hys name.

³⁷ In the last day, that great daye of the feaste Iesus stode and cried saiynge: If a man thirste, let him come vnto me and drinke. ³⁸ He that beleueth on me, as sayeth the scripture, out of hys bellye shall flowe riuers of water of lyfe. ³⁹ This spake he of the spirite which they that beleueth on him, shoulde receyue. For the holye ghost was not yet because that Iesus was not yet gloryfyed.

⁹ After this I behelde, and lo a greate multitude (which no man coulde numbre) of al nacions and people, and tonges, stode before the seate, and before the lambe, clothed wyth longe whyte garmentes, and palmes in their handes, ¹⁰ and cried with a loude voyce, saying: saluacion be ascribed to him that sitteth vpon the seate of our God, and vnto the lamb. ¹¹ And all the Angelles stode in the compasse of the seate, and of the elders, and of the .iiij. beastes, and fell before the seate on theyr faces, & worshipped God ¹² saying, Amen: Blessing and glory, wisdome, and thankes, and honoure, and power & mighte, be vnto our God for euermore: Amen. ¹³ And one of the elders aunswered, saying vnto me: what are these, which are arayed in longe whyte garmentes, and whence came they? ¹⁴ And I sayd vnto hym: Lorde thou wotest. And he said vnto me: these are they which came out of great tribulacion, and made their garmentes large and made them white, in the bloude of the lambe, ¹⁵ therfore are they in the presence of the seate of God and serue hym daye and nyghte in his temple, and he that sitteth in the seate wyl dwell amonge them. ¹⁶ They shal honger no more neyther thyrste, neyther shal the sunne lyghte on them, neyther anye heate: ¹⁷ For the lambe, which is in the middes of the seate shall feede them, and shall leade them vnto fountaynes of lyuinge water, and God shall wype awaye al teares from theyr eyes.

¹¹ Thys is the lawe of the peaceofferinges which shalbe offered to the Lorde.

¹⁶ If it be a vowe or a fre wyloffringe that he bryngeth, the same daye that he offereth it it shal be eaten, & that which remaineth may be eaten on the morowe: ¹⁷ but as much of the offered flesh as remaineth vnto the third day shalbe burnt with fyre. ¹⁸ For if ani of the flesh of the peaceofferynges be eaten in the thirde day, then shal he that offred it optayne no fauour, neyther shall it be rekened vnto hym: but shall be an abhomination, and the soule that eateth of it shal beare the sinne therof. ¹⁹ The fleshe that toucheth any vncleane thing shall not be eaten, but burnte wyth fyre: & all that be cleane in theyr flesh, may eat flesh. ²⁰ If any soule eat of the flesh of the peace offrings that pertaine vnto the Lorde, & his vncleannesse yet vpon hym, the same Soule shal peryshe from amonge hys people. ²¹ Moreouer if a soule touch any vncleane thing, whether it be the vnclennes of man or of any vncleane beast, or of any abhomination that is vnclene and then eat of the fleshe of the peaceofferynges which pertaine vnto the Lord, that soule shal peryshe from his people. ²² And the Lord spake vnto Moses saying: ²³ speake vnto the chyldren of Israel and saye: Ye shal eate no maner fatte of oxen, shepe or gotes, ²⁴ neuerthelater that fatte of the beast that dyeth alone & the fatt of that whych is torne with wylde beastes, maye be occupied in all maner vses: but ye shall in no wyse eat of it. ²⁵ For whosoeuer eateth the fat of the beast of which men bryng an offeryng vnto that Lord, that soule that eateth it shall perish from his people. ²⁶ Moreouer ye shall eate no maner of bloud, wherso euer ye dwel, whether it be of foule or of beast. ²⁷ Whatsoeuer soule it be that eateth anye maner of bloude the same soule shall perysh from hys people. ²⁸ And the Lord talked with Moses saying: ²⁹ speake vnto the children of Israel & say: he that offereth his peaceoffring vnto the Lord, shal bryng his gyfte vnto the Lord of hys peaceofferynges, ³⁰ hys owne handes shal bring the offeryng of the Lord: euen the fatt vpon the breast he shal bryng with the breast to waue it a waueofferynge before the Lord. ³¹ And the priest shal burne the fatt vpon the alter, & the breast shalbe Aarons & his sonnes. ³² And the right shoulder they shal geue vnto the priest, to be an heueoffringe, of their peaceofferinges. ³³ And the same that offereth the bloude of the peace offerynges and the fatte, amonge the sonnes of Aaron shall haue the ryght shoulder vnto hys parte, ³⁴ for the waue breast, & the heue shoulder I haue taken of the chyldren of Israell, euen of theyr peaceofferynges, & haue geuen it vnto Aaron the priest and vnto hys sonnes: to be a dutye for euer of the children of Israel. ³⁵ This is the anoyntynge of Aaron & of the sacrifices of the Lord, in the day when they were offered to the priestes vnto the Lorde, ³⁶ which the Lord commaunded to be geuen them in the day when he anoynted them, of the children of Israel, & to be a duty for euer amonge theyr generations, ³⁷ This is the lawe of burntofferynges, of meateofferynges, of sinne offerynges, of trespace offerynges, of ful offerynges, of peace offeringes, ³⁸ which the Lord commaunded Moses in the mount of Sinai, in the day when he commaunded the chyldren of Israel to offer theyr offerynges vnto the Lord in the wyldernes of Sinai.

²¹ If a man wil offer a peace offryng vnto the Lord and separate a vowe or a frewyll offeryng of the oxen or the flocke, it must be wtout deformyte, that it may be accepted. There maye be no blemysh therin: ²² whether it be blynd, broken, wounded or haue a wen, or be maunge or scabbed, se that ye offre no suche vnto the Lord, nor put an offeryng of any such vpon the alter vnto the Lord. ²³ An oxe or a shepe that hath any membre out of proporcion, mayst thou offer for a frewyllofferyng: but in a vowe it shall not be accepted.

² speake vnto the children of Israel, & say vnto them. These are the feastes of the Lorde which ye shall call holy feastes.

²⁸ Moreouer ye shal do no worke the same day, for it is a daye of attonement to make an attonement for you before the Lord your god.

²¹ This is the law of the absteyner whiche hath vowed hys offeryng vnto the Lord for hys abstynence, besydes that hys hande can gett. And accordyng to the vowe whych he vowed, euen so he must do in the lawe of hys abstynence.

⁶ And thyther thou shalte come, and thyther ye shall brynge youre burnte sacryfyces, and your offeringes, your tythes and heaueofferynges of your handes, youre vowes and frewylofferynges & the fyrst borne of your oxen and of your shepe.

³¹ And to wayte on euery offerynge and burnt sacrifices vnto the Lorde, the Sabbothes and fyrst daies of the monethes, and other feastful dayes by nombre and custome, was their office euer before the Lorde.

³ And the kyng gaue a porcyon of his substaunce for burntofferynges at mornynge, and euen, & for burntoffrynges on the Saboth dayes & new mones & other solempne feastes, accordynge as it is wrytten in the lawe of the Lorde.

⁵ Afterwarde the daylie burntofferinges also, and of the newe mones and of all the feaste dayes of the Lorde that were halowed, and al maner of frewyl offerynges, whych they did of their owne frewyll vnto the Lorde.

³³ namelye to the shewebreade, to the daylye meateofferynge, to the daylye burntoffering of the Sabothes, of the newe mones & feaste dayes, and to the thynges that were sanctyfyed, and to the synofferynges, to reconcyle Israel wythall, and to all the busynes in the house of oure God.

¹⁴ I hate youre newe holye dayes and fastynges, euen from my very hert. They make me weerye, I can not abyde them.

³¹ Whether therfore ye eate or drynke, or whatsoeuer ye do, do al to the praise of God.

¹⁶ And Moses dyd accordynge to all that the Lord commaunded him.

⁵ Beholde, I haue taught you ordinaunces & lawes such as the Lorde my God commaunded me that ye should do euen so in the land whither ye go to possesse it.

²⁰ Teachyng then to obserue all thynges whatsoeuer I commaunded you, And lo I am with you alwaye, euen vntyll the ende of the worlde.

²⁷ For I haue kept nothynge backe, but haue shewed you all the counsell of God.

³ For fyrste of al I deliuered vnto you that which I receiued how that Christe dyd for oure synnes, agreinge to the scriptures:

² which was faithfull to him that made him euen as was Moises in al his house.

⁵ And Moyses verelye was faythfull in al hys house as a minyster, to beare wytnes of those thynges, whyche shoulde be spoken afterwarde.
