And youre enheritaunce shalbe in the trybes of youre fathers, in the place where euery mans lott falleth. ⁵⁵ But and yf ye wyl not dryue out the inhabiters of the land before you, then those whyche ye let remayne of them, shalbe thornes in youre eyes & dartes in your sydes, & shall vexe you in the land wherin ye dwel. ⁵⁶ Moreouer it wyl come to passe, that I shal do vnto you as I thought to do vnto them.

³⁷ Thus toke the children of Israel their yourneye from Rameses to Suchoth .vi. hundred thousand men of foote, besyde chyldren.

⁵¹ And euen the self same daye dyd the Lorde brynge the chyldren of Israel out of the lande of Egypt wyth their armyes.

¹⁸ therfore God led them aboute thorow the wildernesse that bordeth on the red sea. The children of Israel went harnessed out of the lande of Egypte.

⁵ Then I sent Moses and Aaron. And I plaged Egypte, after the maner as I dyd amonge them,

⁸ After that Iacob was come into Egypte, your fathers cryed vnto the Lorde, & the Lord sent Moses & Aaron, which brought your fathers out of Egypt, & made them dwel in thys place.

²⁰ Thou leddeste thy people lyke a flocke of shepe, by the hande of Moyses and Aaron.

⁴ Because I brought the from the lande of Egypte, and delyuered the out of the house of bondage? Because I made Moses, Aaron and Miriam to lede the?

¹⁷ And when the cloude was taken vp from of the tabernacle, then the chyldren of Israell iourneyed: and where the cloud abode there the chyldren of Israell pitched theyr tentes. ¹⁸ At the mouthe of the Lorde the chyldren of Israel iourneyed, and at the mouth of the Lorde they pitched. And as long as the cloude abode vpon the habitacion, they lay styl. ¹⁹ and when the cloude taryed styll vpon the habitacyon longe tyme, the chyldren of Israell wayted vpon the Lord and iourneyed not. ²⁰ If it chaunced that the cloude abode any space of tyme vpon the habitacion, then they kepte their tentes at the mouth of the Lord: and they iourneyed also at the commaundement of the Lord. ²¹ And yf it happened that the cloude was vpon the habitacion from euen vnto mornynge and was taken vp in the mornynge then they iourneyed. Whether it was by daye or by nyght that the cloude was taken vp, they iourneyed. ²² But when the cloude taryed two dayes or a moneth or a long season vpon the habitacion, as longe as it taryed theron, the chyldren of Israell kepte theyr tentes and iourneied not. And as soone as the cloude was taken vp, they iourneied. ²³ At the mouth of the Lord they reastyd, & at the commaundement of the Lord they iourneyed. And thus they kepte the watche of the Lord, at the commaundement of the Lorde by the hande of Moses.

⁶ And when ye trompe the seconde tyme, then the hostes that lye on the south syde shal take their iourney: for they shal trompe when they take their iourneyes.

¹³ And they fyrst toke their iourney at the mouth of the Lord, by the hand of Moses:

³⁸ Egypte was glad of their departinge, for they were afrayed of them.

¹² But ye shall not go oute with sedicion, nor make hast as they that fle awaye: for the Lord shall go before you, and the God of Israel shal kepe the watche.

¹³ Who so breaketh the gappe, he shall go before. They shal breake vp the porte, and go in and out at it. Their kynge shall go before them, and the Lorde shallbe vpon the head of them.

¹² for I wyl go aboute in the lande of Egypte thys same nyght, and wyl smyte al the fyrste borne in the lande of Egypte, both of man & beast, and vpon all the Goddes of Egypte wyl I the Lorde do execution.

²⁹ And at mydnyght the Lorde smote all the fyrst borne in the land of Egypt: from the fyrst borne of Pharao that sat on his seat, vnto the fyrst borne of the captyue that was in presone, & all the fyrst borne of catell. ³⁰ Than Pharao arose the same nyght & al hys seruauntes and al the Egypcians: & there was a great crieng thorow out Egypte, for there was no house where there was not one deed.

¹¹ Now I knowe that the Lord is greater then al Gods, for bicause that they dealt proudly with them.

³⁶ He smote al the fyrst borne in the lande, euen the chefe of al their substaunce.

¹ This is the heauy burthen vpon Egipt: Beholde, the Lord wyll ryde vpon a swyft cloude, & come into Egipt. And the Goddes of Egypte shall tremble at hys comminge, and the herte of Egypt shal quake within her.

⁷ And there was great battayle in heauen, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angells, ⁸ and preuayled not, neyther was theyr place found any more in heauen. ⁹ And the great dragon, that olde serpente called the deuyll and Sathanas was caste out. Whiche deceyueth al the worlde. And he was cast into the earth, and his angelles were cast out also.

⁸ And they departed from before Hiroth and went thorowe the myddes of the sea into the wyldernesse, and went .iij. dayes iourney in the wildernesse of Ethan and pytched in Marah.

²¹ When now Moses stretched forth hys hande ouer the sea, the Lorde caryed awaye the sea wt a stronge east wynde that blewe all nyghte, & made the sea drye land and the water deuyded it selfe. ²² And the chyldren of Israel went in thorow the myddest of the sea vpon the drye ground. And the water was a walle vnto them, both on their ryghthand & on their lefte hande. ²³ And the Egiptians folowed and went in after them to the myddest of the sea, with all Pharaos horsses, & hys charettes & his horssemen. ²⁴ And in the mornynge watch, the Lorde loked vnto the hoste of the Egyptians out of the fiery and clowdy pyller, and troubled their hoste ²⁵ & smote of their charett wheles and cast them doune to the grounde. Than sayde the Egypcians: Let vs fle from Israel, for the Lord fyghteth for them agaynst vs. ²⁶ Than sayd the Lord vnto Moses: stretch out thyne hande ouer the sea, that the water may come agayn vpon the Egypcians vpon their charettes and horssemen. ²⁷ Than stretched forth Moses hys hande ouer the sea, & it came agayne to hys course early in the mornyng, & the Egypcians fledd agaynste it. Thus the Lorde ouerthrewe the Egypcians in the myddest of the sea, ²⁸ & the water returned and couered the charettes and the horssemen: so that of all the hoste of Pharao that came in to the sea after them, there remayned not one. ²⁹ But the chyldren of Israel went vpon drye lande in the myddest of the sea, & the water was a walle vnto them: both on the ryghte hande of them and also on the lefte. ³⁰ Thus the Lord delyuered Israel the self same day out of the hande of the Egypcians, and Israel sawe the Egypcians deade vpon the sea syde. ³¹ And when Israel sawe that myghty hande which the Lorde had shewed vpon the Egypcians they feared the Lorde: & beleued both the Lorde, and also hys seruaunte Moses.

²² Moses brought Israell from the redd sea, and they went out into the wyldernesse of Sur. And they went thre dayes longe in the wyldernesse, and coulde fynde no water. ²³ At the laste they came to Mara: but they coulde not dryncke of the waters for bytternesse, for they were bitter, therfore the name of the place was called Mara. ²⁴ Then the people murmured agaynst Moses, sayinge: What shall we dryncke? ²⁵ And Moses cried vnto the Lorde, and he shewed hym a tree: and he cast it in to the waters, and they waxed swete. There he made them an ordinaunce & a law & there he tempted them, ²⁶ & sayde: If ye wyll herken vnto the voyce of the Lord your god, & wyl do that which is ryght in his syght & wyl geue an eare vnto hys commaundementes, and kepe all hys ordynaunces: than wyll I put none of these diseases vpon the whych I brought vpon the Egypcyans, for I am the Lord thy surgione. ²⁷ And they came to Elim where were .xij. welles of water & .lxx. date trees & they pytched there by the water.

And Moses dyd euen so before the elders of Israel. ⁷ And he called the name of the place: Massa and Meriba: because of the chydynge of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lorde saynge: is the Lorde amog vs or not? ⁸ Then came Amelech and fought with Israel Raphidim.

³⁶ And he coupled hym selfe with him, to make shippes to go to Tharsis. And they made the shippes in Azion Gaber.

⁵⁰ And dye in the mount which thou goest vpon and be gathered vnto thy people: As Aaron thy brother dyed in mount Hor & was gathered to his people.

And they destroyed both them and their cityes, & called the place Horma. ⁴ Then they departed from mount Hor toward the red sea: to compasse the land of Edom. And the soules of the people faynted by the way. ⁵ And the people spake against God and against Moses: wherfore hast thou brought vs oute of Egypte, for to dye in the wyldernes, for here is neither bread nor water, and our soules lotheth thys light bread. ⁶ Then the Lord sent fiery serpentes amonge the people, which stonge them: so that much people dyed in Israell. ⁷ And the people came to Moses and sayed: we haue sinned, for we haue spoken agayust the Lord and againste the, make intercession to the lorde, that he take away the serpentes from vs. And Moses made intercession for the people. ⁸ And the Lord saide vnto Moses. Make the a serpente, and hang it vp for a sygne, and let as many as are byten loke vpon it, and they shall lyue. ⁹ And Moses made a serpent of brasse & set it vp for a sygne. And when the serpentes had bytten any man, he went and beheld the serpent of brasse, and recouered. ¹⁰ And the children of Israell remoued and pytched in Oboth. ¹¹ And they departed from Oboth and lay at Egebarim in the wyldernesse which is before Moab on the east syde

³⁴ And the chyldren of Gad bylte Didon, Ataroth, Aroer, Atroth,

¹ And Moses wente from the feyldes of Moab vppe into mount Nebo which is the top of Phasgath that is ouer against Iericho. And the Lord shewed hym al the lande of Galaad euen vnto Dan,

Then the Lorde was angry with Israel, ⁴ and sayed vnto Moses: take al the heades of the people, and hange them vp vnto the Lorde agaynste the sunne, that the wrathe of the Lorde maye turne away from Israel. ⁵ And Moses sayed vnto the iudges of Israel: go and slea those men that ioyned theym selues vnto Baal Peor. ⁶ And behold, one of the children of Israell came & broughte vnto hys brethren, a Madianitish wyfe euen in the syght of Moses & in the sighte of al the multitude of the children of Israel, as they were weppyng in the dore of the tabernacle of wytnes. ⁷ And when Phinehes the sonne of Eleazar the sonne of Aaron the prieste sawe it, he rose vp out of the company & toke a weapen in hys hand, ⁸ & went after the man of Israel into the hore house and thrust them thorow: both the man of Israel and also the woman euen thorowe the bealy of hyr. And the plage ceased from the children of Israel. ⁹ And ther dyed in the plage .xxiiij. thousand.

¹ Then Iosua the sonne of Nun sent out of Settim two spyes secretly saying: go & vewe the land & also Iericho. And they went, & came into a harlottes house named Rahab, and lodged there.

²⁰ and Beth Pheor, and the springes of Phasgah, and Bethiesymoth,

⁹ Therfore beholde, I will make the cytyes of Moab weapenlesse, and take awaye their strength: thir cyties and chefe coastes of their lande, whiche are the pleasures of the countrey. As namelye: Bethiesimoth, Baalmeon and Cariathaim:

⁴⁸ And they departed from the mountaynes of Abarim, and pitched in the feldes of Moab fast by Iordan nye to Ierycho. ⁴⁹ And ther pitched vpon Iordan, from Beth Haiesmoth vnto the playne of Abelsatim in the feldes of Moab.

¹ When the Lorde thy God hathe brought the into the land whither thou goest to possesse it, & hast coste out manye nations before the: the Hethytes, the Gergesites, the Amorites, the Cananites, the Pheresites, the Heuites, and the Iebusites .vij. nacions moo in numbre & mightier then thou:

¹ Heare Israell, thou goest ouer Iordan thys daye, to go & conquere nations greater & mightyer then thy selfe, and cytyes great and walled vp to heauen,

¹⁷ And the priestes that bare the arcke of the appoyntemente of the Lorde stode styll vpon drye lande, vntyl all the people were cleane ouer Iordan.

²⁴ se thou worship not their goddes neyther serue them, neither do after the workes of them but ouerthrowe them & breake doune the places of them.

³¹ And I wil make thy costes from the red sea vnto the sea of the Philistines and from the deserte vnto the ryuer. I wil deliuer the inhabiters of the lande into thyne hande, & thou shalt dryue them out before the. ³² And thou shalte make none appoyntment with them nor with their goddes. ³³ Neither shall they dwel in thy lande, lest they make the sinne agaynste me: for if thou serue their goddes it will surely be thy decaye.

¹² Take hede to thy selfe, that thou make no compact wyth the inhabiters of the Lande whether thou goest, least it because of ruine among you. ¹³ But ouerthrowe their aulters and breake theyr pillars, & cut downe their groues, ¹⁴ for thou shalt worshyp no straunge God. For the Lorde is called gelousee bycause he is a gelouse God: ¹⁵ lest if thou make any agremente wyth the inhabiters of the lande, when they go a whorynge after theyr Gods and do sacrifice vnto theyr Goddes, they cal the and thou eate of theyr sacrifyce: ¹⁶ and thou take of theyr daughters vnto thy sonnes, and when theyr daughters goo a whorynge after theyr Goddes, ¹⁷ they make thy sonnes goo a whoringe after their Goddes also. Thou shalt make the no Gods of metall.

¹ I am the Lorde your God. Ye shal make you no Idolles nor grauen image, neyther reare you vp anye piller, neyther ye shall sette vppe anye image of stone in your Lande to bowe youre selues therto: for I am the Lorde youre God:

² and when the Lord thy God hath sett them before the that thou shouldest smyt them se that thou vtterly destroye them and make no couenaunt with theym nor haue compassyon vppon theym. Also thou shalte make no maryages wyth theim, ³ neyther gyue thy daughter vnto hys sone, nor take hys daughter vnto thy sonne. ⁴ For they wyl make your Sonnes departe fro me, and serue straunge Goddes, and then wyll the wrathe of the Lorde waxe whote vpon you and destroye you shortely. ⁵ But thus ye shall deale wyth them: ouerthrow theyr alters, breake downe theyr pyllers cut downe their groues and burne their ymages wyth fyre.

²⁵ The Images of their Gods thou shalt burne wyth fire, and se that thou couet not the syluer or golde that is on them nor take it vnto the, least thou be snared therwyth. For it is an abhomination vnto the lord thy God. ²⁶ Bring not therfore the abhomination to thyne house, least thou be a damned thing as it is: but vtterlye defye it and abhorre it, for it is a thynge that must be destroyed.

² Se that ye destroy all places where the nations whyche ye conquere serue theyr Goddes, vpon hye mountaynes, and on hye hylles, & vnder euery grene tre. ³ Ouerthrow theyr alters and breake theyr pyllers, & burne theyr groues wyth fyre & hew downe the ymages of theyr Goddes, and brynge the names of them to naught out of that place.

³⁰ Beware that thou be not taken in a snare after them, after that they be destroyed before the, & that thou aske not after theyr Gods sayinge: how dyd these nations serue theyr Goddes. that I maye do so lykewyse: ³¹ Naye, thou shalt not do so vnto the Lorde thy God: for all abhominacions whyche the Lorde hated dyd they vnto theyr Goddes. For they burnt both their sonnes and their daughters with fire vnto their Goddes.

¹⁶ But in the cities of these nacions which the Lorde thy God geueth the to enheret, thou shalt saue alyue nothyng that breatheth. ¹⁷ But shalt destroy them with out redempcion, both the Hethites, the Amorites, the Cananites, the Pherezites, the Heuites & the Iebusites, as the Lord thy God hath commaunded the, ¹⁸ that thei teach you not to do after al their abhominacions which they do vnto their goddes, & so should synne agaynst the Lord your God.

¹¹ And they smote all the soules that were therin with the edge of the swerd, vtterlye destroying them, that no breath was let remayne. And burnt Hazor wyth fyre ¹² and al the cyties of those Kynges, wyth al the kinges of them: Iosua toke and smote them with the edge of the swerde, and vtterlye destroied them as Moses the seruaunte of the Lorde commaunded.

⁷ and that ye go not vnto these nacyons that remayne wyth you: and that ye neyther make mencion or sweare by the names of theyr goddes: and that ye neyther serue them, nor bow your selues vnto them.

² but ye shulde haue made no couenaunt with the enhabytours of thys lande, ye shuld haue broken doune theyr aultares: But ye haue not obeyed my voyce, why haue ye thys done?

³⁴ Nether destroied they the Heathen, as the Lorde commaunded them. ³⁵ But were mingled among the Heathen, and lerned their workes. ³⁶ In so much that they worshipped their images, which turned to their owne decay.

³¹ For ye shal go ouer to go & possesse the lande which the Lord your God geueth you, and shall conquere it and dwell therein.

⁸ When the most hyghest gaue the nations an enheritaunce, & deuided the sonnes of Adam, he put the borders of the nations, fast by the multitude of the children of Israell.

⁴³ And the Lorde gaue vnto Israell all the lande, whiche he sware to geue vnto their fathers. And they conquered it, and dwelt therin.

¹ A Psalme of Dauid. The earth is the Lordes, & all that therin is: the compase of the world, & al that dwell therein. ² For he hath founded it vpon the seas, and buylded it vpon the floudes.

¹⁶ Al the whole heauens are the Lordes, but the earth hath he geuen vnto the chyldren of men.

⁵ I am he that made the earthe, the men, & the catell that are vpon the grounde, with my great power and outstretched arme, & haue geuen it vnto whome it pleased me. ⁶ And nowe wyl I delyuer all these landes into the power of Nabuchodonosor the Kynge of Babylon, my seruaunt. The beastes also of the felde shall I geue hym to do hym seruyce.

¹⁷ This erande of the watcher is a commaundement grounded and sought oute in the councell of him, that is most holye, to learne men for to vnderstande, that the hyest hath power, ouer the kyngedomes of men, and geueth them, to whome it lyketh hym, & bryngeth the very oute castes of men ouer them.

²⁵ Thou shalte be caste oute from men, & thy dwellyng shalbe with the beastes of the feld: with grasse shalte thou be fed lyke an oxe. Thou must be wet with the dewe of the heauen, yea seuen yeares shall come, and go vpon the, tyll thou know, that the hyest hath power vpon the kingedomes of men, & geueth them to whome he lyst.

³² thou shalte be cast oute of mens companye: thy dwelling shalbe with the beastes of the felde, so that thou shalte eate grasse lyke as an oxe, tyll seuen yeares be come & gone ouer the: euen vntill thou knoweste, that the hyest hath power vpon the kyngdoms of men, and that he may geue them, vnto whom it pleaseth hym.

¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do as me lusteth with myne owne? Is thyne eye euel because I am good?

⁵³ vnto these the land shalbe deuided to enheret, accordyng to the numbre of names: ⁵⁴ to many thou shalte gyue the more enheritaunce and to few the lesse: to euery tribe shal the enheritaunce be geuen according to the numbre therof. ⁵⁵ Notwythstanding, the land shalbe deuided by lot, & accordinge to the names of the tribes of theyr, fathers they shall enheritt: ⁵⁶ & according to theyr lot thou shalt deuide theyr lande both to the many & to the fewe.

¹ And the Lot of the trybe of the chyldren of Iuda in their kynredes was the wyldernesse of Zyn, that stretcheth to the coastes of Edon southward, and is the vtmost parte of the south coastes. ² And their suthcoastes were from the brinck of the salt sea, and from a certain poynte of the sea, that leaneth southwarde. ³ And it went out on the south syde of the goyng vp to Acrabim, & went a longe to Zimma, and ascended vp on the south syde of Cades Barne, and wente a longe to Hezron, and wente vp to Adar, and fette a compasse to Karca, ⁴ and went a longe to Azmon, and it went out to the riuer of Egipt: so that the ende of that coaste is the sea. And these are their south coastes. ⁵ And their easte coastes are the salt sea, euen vnto the edge of Iordan. ⁶ And their borders in the north quarter were from another pointe of the sea, where Iordan endeth. And wente vp to Bethhagla, and wente a longe by the northsyde of Betharabah, and went vp to the stone of Bohen the sonne of Ruben. ⁷ And then went vp to Dabir from the valeye of Acor, & so northwarde, turnyng toward Galgal that lyeth before the goyng vp to Adonim, whych is of the southe syde of the Ryuer. And then went a longe to the water of Ensemes, and ended at the well of Rogell. ⁸ And then went vp to the valeye of the sonne of Hennon, euen vnto the southsyde of the Iebusites the enhabitoures of Ierusalem. And then went vp to the toppe of the hylle, that lyeth before the valeye of Hennon westwarde, and by the edge of the valeye of Raphaim northwarde: ⁹ And then it draweth from the sande hille vnto the fountaine of water called Nephthoah, and goeth oute at the cyties of mount Ephron, & draweth to Balah, otherwyse called Kariathiarim: ¹⁰ and then it compasseth from Balah westwarde, vnto Eyr, and then goeth alonge vnto the syde of mounte Iarim, otherwyse called Chesalon, on the northsyde therof. And cometh doune to Bethsames and goeth to Thamnah, ¹¹ and goeth oute on the side of Akaron northwarde: And then draweth to Secron and goeth a longe to mounte Balah, and goeth oute at Iabnel, and the ende of the coastes is the sea. ¹² And the west borders are the great sea, & the coastes of that lye theron. And these are the coastes of the chyldren of Iuda round about in their kynredes.

¹ And the lot of the children of Ioseph felle from Iordan by Iericho, vnto the water of Iericho Eastward, and the wildernesse that goeth vp from Iericho, thorow out mount Bethel, ² and then goeth out from Bethel to Lus, & runneth a longe vnto the borders of Arciatharoth, ³ and goeth doune westwarde, euen to the coastes of Iaphlethi, & vnto the coastes of Bethhoron the nether, & so to Gasor, & the endes of their coastes came to the sea. ⁴ And so the children of Ioseph, Manasses & Ephraim toke their enheritaunce.

¹ And the tribe of Manasses, whiche was the eldeste sonne of Ioseph receiued a lot. And Machyr the eldest sonne of Manasses, whiche was the father of Galaad (and a man of warre) had Galaad & Basan. ² And the reste of the children of Manasses receiued by their kynredes: whyche were the children of Abieser, the children of Helek, the chyldren of Asriel: the children of Sychem, the children of Hepher: the children of Semida. These are the male children of Manasses, the sonne of Ioseph in theyr kynredes. ³ But Zelaphead the sonne of Hepher, the sonne of Galaad, the sonne of Machir, the sonne of Manasses, had no sonnes saue doughters. And these are the names of hys doughters: Mahela, Noa, Hagla Melcha and Thirza: ⁴ which came before Eleasar the prieste, and before Iosua the sonne of Nun, and before the Lordes sayinge: the Lord commaunded Moses to geue vs an enheritaunce among oure brethren. And he gaue them at the mouth of the Lorde, an enheritaunce amonge the brethren of their fathers. ⁵ And there felle ten porcyons to Manasses besyde the land of Galaad and Basan, whyche are on the other syde Iordan: ⁶ because the doughters of Manasses dyd enherete amonge hys sonnes. And Manasses other sonnes had the lande of Galaad. ⁷ And the coastes of Manasses reached from Aser to Machmathah, that lyeth before Sychem, & went a longe on the righte hande, euen vnto the enhabiters of Enthaphuah, ⁸ and the lande of Thaphuah belonged to Manasses, which Thaphuah lay in the borders betwene Manasses, and the chyldren of Ephraym. ⁹ And the coastes descended vnto the riuer Canah, on whose southsyde Ephraim hath cytyes amonge the cyties of Manasses. For the coastes of Manasses were on the northsyde of the ryuer, and the endes of them was the sea: ¹⁰ so that the south pertayned to Ephraim, and the north to Manasses, and the sea is his border. And they mette together in Aser northwarde, and in Isacar Eastwarde. ¹¹ And Manasses had in Isacar and in Aser, Bethsean, and her tounes: and the enhabitoures of Dor, with the tounes pertaining to the same, and the enhabitoures of Endor, with the tounes of the same: and the enhabitoures of Thaanath with her tounes, and the enhabitoures of Magedo with the tounes of the same, euen thre countreys: ¹² yet the chyldren of Manasses coulde not ouercome those cytyes: But the Cananites began to dwel in the same lande. ¹³ Neuerthelesse assone as the chyldren of Israel were waxed strong, they put the Cananytes to tribute, but expelled them not.

¹¹ And the lotte of the trybe of the children of Beniamin came vp accordinge to their kynredes. And the coastes of their lot came out betwene the chyldren of Iuda, and the children of Ioseph. ¹² And their north coastes were from Iordan, & wente vp to the syde of Iericho on the northsyde, and went vp thorowe the mountaines westwarde, and they ended at the wyldernesse of Bethauen, ¹³ and went from thence to the southsyde of Lus, other wyse called Bethel, and descended to Atharoth, Adar vpon the hylle that lieth on the southsyde of the neither Bethhoron. ¹⁴ And the west coaste draweth and compasseth southward, euen from the hylle, that lyeth before Bethhoron, and goeth oute at Kariathbaal, which is kariath Iarim, a citye of the children of Iuda, and this is the west quarter, ¹⁵ and the south coaste, goeth from the edge of Kariathiarim westwarde, & goeth oute to the waterwelle, of Nephthoah, ¹⁶ and cometh doune to the edge of the hyll that lyeth before the valeye of the sonne of Hennon, whyche is in the valeye of Raphaim northwarde, and desceuded thorowe the valeye of Hennon vnto the syde of Iebusi southwarde, and goeth doune to the well of Rogell. ¹⁷ And compasseth from the north, and goeth forthe to Ensames, and to the coastes, that lye before the going vp vnto Andomim, and goeth doune to the stone of Bohan the sonne of Ruben, ¹⁸ & then goeth a longe towarde the syde of the playne, northwarde, and goeth doune into the plaine: ¹⁹ and goeth a longe to the syde of Bethhaglah northwarde, and endeth at the pointe of the salt sea north therfrom, and at the ende of Iordan south therfrom. Thys is the south coaste. ²⁰ And Iordan is their easte coast, this is the enheritaunce of the children of Beniamin with their coastes rounde aboute, & by their kinredes. ²¹ And these are the cytyes of the trybes of the chyldren of Beniamin in theyr kynredes: Iericho, Bethhaglah, and the valeye of Kaziz, ²² Betharabah, Zamarim, and Bethel, ²³ Auim, Pharah, and Ophrag, ²⁴ Chepar Ammonai, Ophni, and Gabai, twelue cytyes wt their villages, ²⁵ Gabaon, Ramah, & Beroth, ²⁶ Mazphah, Caphairah, and Mozah: ²⁷ Rekem, Iarephel and Tharelah, ²⁸ Zela, Eleph, and the cytye of the Iebusites, whyche is Ierusalem, Gabaath, and Kariath, fourtene cytyes wyth theyr vyllages. Thys is the enherytaunce of the chyldren of Beniamin in their kynredes.

¹¹ and went vp to the Sea, and to Marialah, and touched at Dabaseth, and mette at the riuer that lyeth before Iokneuen, ¹² and turned from Sarid eastwarde, towarde the sunne rysyng vnto the border of Chisloth in mounte Thabor, and then goeth oute to Dabereth, and goeth vp to Iaphia, ¹³ and from thence goeth a longe eastwarde, towarde the sunne rysyng, to Sethah, Hepher, Ithah, and Iazim, and goeth to Remon, Methoar, and Neah. ¹⁴ And compasseth it on the northsyde, & goeth to Nathan, and endeth in the valeye of Iephthahel. ¹⁵ And Iatath, Nahalol, Semron, Iedalah, and Bethlehem, twelue cityes wyth their vyllages. ¹⁶ Thys is the enheritaunce of the chyldren of Zabulon, in their kynredes. The sayd cities with their villages. ¹⁷ And the fourthe lotte came out to the chyldren of Isacar by their kynredes. ¹⁸ And theyr coastes were Iesraelah, Casuloth, Sunem, ¹⁹ Hapharaim, Sion, Anaharath, ²⁰ Harabith, Kysion and Abez, ²¹ Rameth, Enganim, Enhadah, and Bethphazez. ²² And his coastes mette at Thabor Sahazimah and at Bethsames & endeth at Iordan, sixtene cytyes with their villages. ²³ This is the enheritaunce of the trybe of the chyldren of Isacar by theyr kynredes the cyties and their villages. ²⁴ And the fyfte lot came out vnto the trybe of the chyldren of Aser by their kynredes. ²⁵ And their coastes were Helkath, Hali, Beten, and Achsaph, ²⁶ Alamelech, Amaad & Miseal, and mette at Carmel on the sea, & at Syhor and at Labanath ²⁷ & turned towarde the sunne rysynge to Bethdagon, and mette at Zabulon and in the valeye of Iehthah, and toward the northsyde of Bethemek & Negel, & goeth oute on the lefte syde of Cabul, ²⁸ and Hebron, Rohob, Hamon, and Kanah euen vnto greate Sidon. ²⁹ And then the coast turneth to Ramah and to the stronge citie of Azor and turned to Hozah and endeth at the sea, by the possession of Achzibah: ³⁰ Amah, Aphek, and Rohob: Twentye and two cyties with their villages. ³¹ This is the enheritaunce of the trybe of the chyldren of Aser by theyr kinredes: These cities with their villages. ³² And the syxte lot came oute vnto the chyldren of Nephthali by their kinredes. ³³ And their coastes were from Heleph and from Elon in Zaananim, and Adami, Nekeb and Iabneel euen to Lakum, and go oute at Iordan. ³⁴ And then the coaste turned westward to Asanoth in mounte Thabor, and then goeth oute from thence to Hukokah and meteth wyth Zabulon on the southe syde, and wyth Aser on the west, and at Iuda vpon Iordan towarde the sunne rysynge. ³⁵ And their stronge cyties are Zidim, Ber, Hamath, Racath and Cenereth, ³⁶ Adamah, Hermah and Hazor: ³⁷ Kedes, Edrai, and Enhazor: ³⁸ Ieron, Magdelel: Horem, Bethanah and Bethsames .xix. cyties with theyr villages. ³⁹ This is the enheritaunce of the trybe of the children of Nephthali by their kyuredes: these cytyes and their villages. ⁴⁰ And the seuenth lot felle to the trybe of the chyldren of Dan, by theyr kynredes. ⁴¹ And the coastes of theyr enheritaunce was Zaraah, Esthaol, Irsames, ⁴² Saelabin, Aialon & Iethlah: ⁴³ Eglon, Themnathah and Akaron: ⁴⁴ Elthekeh Gibethon and Baalath: ⁴⁵ Iehud, Banebarak and Gathermon, ⁴⁶ Meiericon & Harcon wyth the countreye that lyeth before Iapho. ⁴⁷ And the coastes of the children of Dan, went out from beyonde them. For the chyldren of Dan, went vp and foughte agaynste Lesen and toke it, and smote it wyth the edge of the swerde, and conquered it, and dwelte therin and called it Dan, after the name of Dan their father. ⁴⁸ This is the enheritaunce of the tribe of the chyldren of Dan in their kynredes, these cytyes wyth their villages.

³³ Neither shall they dwel in thy lande, lest they make the sinne agaynste me: for if thou serue their goddes it will surely be thy decaye.

⁴ For they wyl make your Sonnes departe fro me, and serue straunge Goddes, and then wyll the wrathe of the Lorde waxe whote vpon you and destroye you shortely.

¹⁶ Thou shalt brynge to naught all nacions which the Lord thy God deliuereth the, thine eye shal haue no pyty vpon them neither shalt thou serue theyr Goddes, for that shall be thy decaye.

¹² But and yf ye shall go backe and cleaue vnto the reste of these nacyons that remayne wyth you, and shall make maryages wyth them, and shall go to them, and they come to you: ¹³ be sure that the Lorde youre God wyll not caste out al the nacyons from before you. But they shalbe snares and trappes vnto you, and scourges for youre sydes, & prickes in youre eyes, vntyll ye peryshe from of thys good lande whiche the Lorde your God hath geuen you.

²¹ And the chyldren of Ben Iamin dyd not caste oute the Iebusites that enhabyted Ierusalem, but the Iebusites dwell wyth the chyldren of Ben Iamin in Ierusalem, vnto thys daye. ²² And in lyke maner the house of Ioseph went vp to Bethell and the Lorde wyth them ²³ and the house of Ioseph serched out Bethell which before tyme was called Lus. ²⁴ And the spyes sawe a man come out of the cytye and they sayde vnto hym: shew vs the waye into the cytye. And we wyl shewe the mercy. ²⁵ And he shewed them the waye into the cytye, and they smote it with the edge of the swerde, but let the man and all hys houshold go free, ²⁶ And the man wente into the lande of the Hethites, and buylt a cytye and called the name thereof Lus whiche is the name thereof vnto thys daye. ²⁷ Neyther dyd Manasses expelle Bethsean wyth her tounes, nether Tanaach wyth her tounes, neyther the enhabytoures of Dor wt her tounes, neyther the enhabytours of Ieblaam with her tounes, neyther the enhabitours of Magedo wyth her tounes, and so the Cananites went to and dwelt in the sayde lande. ²⁸ But as sone as Israell was waxed myghtye they put the Cananites to trybute: But expelled them not. ²⁹ In lyke maner Ephraim expelled not the Cananites that dwelt in Gazer, but the Cananites dwelt stylle in Gazer among them. ³⁰ Neyther dyd Zabulon expell the enhabytoures of Ketron, neyther the enhabytours of Naholol: But the Cananites dwelt amonge them, and be came trybutaryes. ³¹ Neyther dyd Aser cast out the enhabitours of Acho, neyther the enhabitours of Zidon, of Ahalab, Aczib, Halbah, Aphek, nor of Rohob, ³² but the Aserytes dwelte amonge the Cananites the enhabytours of the lande, & draue them not out. ³³ Neyther dyd Nephtalim dryue oute the enhabytoures of Bethsames, nor the enhabytoures of Bethanath, but dwelle amongest the Cananytes the enhabytours of the lande. Neuerthelesse the enhabytours of Bethsames & of Bethanath be came trybutaryes vnto them. ³⁴ And the Amorites kept the chyldren of Dan in the mountaynes, and suffered them not to come doune to the valeys. ³⁵ And so the Amorites went to and dwelled in mount Heres in Haylon and in Galabim. Neuerthelater the hand of Ioseph waxed heuye vpon them, so that they became trybutaryes. ³⁶ And the coastes of the Amorytes was from the goyng vp to Acrabim, and from the rocke vpwarde.

³ wherfore I haue lykewyse determyned that I wyll not cast them out before you: but they shalbe in the sydes of you, and theyr Goddes shalbe snares vnto you.

²⁴ She shal no more be a prickinge thorne, and an hurtynge breer vnto the house of Israel, nor vnto them that lye rounde aboute her, and hate her, and they shall knowe, that I am the Lorde.

²⁸ lest that the land spewe you out when ye haue defyled it, as it spewed out the nacions that were there before you.

²³ And se that ye walke not in the maners of the nacions which I cast out before you: For they commytted all these thynges, and I abhorred them.

⁶³ And as the Lord reioysed ouer you to do you good & to multyplye you: euen so he wil reioyse ouer you, to destroy you and to bring you to nought. And ye shalbe wasted from of the lande whether thou goest to enioye it.

²⁸ And the Lorde cast them out of their lande in angre, wrath and greate furyousnesse, and cast them in to a straunge land, as it is come to passe this day.

¹⁵ And as all good thynges are come vpon you, which the Lorde youre God promysed you: so shall the Lorde brynge vpon you all euyll vntyl he haue destroyed you from of thys good lande which the Lorde your God hath geuen you ¹⁶ when ye haue transgressed the appoyntment of the Lorde youre God, which he commaunded you, and haue gone and serued straunge Goddes, and bowed your selues to them. Then shal the wrath of the Lord waxe whote vpon you, and ye shall peryshe quickly, from of the good lande which he hath geuen you.

¹⁷ And so he brought vpon them the kyng of Caldeye & slue theyr young men with the swerde in theyr holy temple, & nether spared younge man nor mayden, nether olde man, nether so moche as hym that stowped for age: But gaue all into his hande. ¹⁸ And all the vessels of the house of God bothe great and smalle, & the treasures of the house of God, & the treasures of the kynge & hys Lordes he caryed to Babilon euery with. ¹⁹ And they burnt the house of God and brake downe the walles of Ierusalem, and burnt all the palaces therof with fyre with all the goodly stoffe therof, and marred it. ²⁰ And he caryed awaye them that had escaped the swerde, to Babilon, where they were seruauntes to him and his chyldren, vntill the kyngdome of Persia beganne to rule,

²⁴ Thou sonne of man, these that dwell in the wasted land of Israel, sayde: Abraham was but one man, & he had the lande in possessyon: now are we manye, & the lande is geuen vs to possesse also. ²⁵ And therfore tell them: Thus sayeth the Lorde: In the bloude haue ye eaten, youre eyes haue ye lyft vp to Idoles, & haue shed bloude: shal ye then haue the lande in possessyon? ²⁶ Ye leane vpon youre sweardes, ye worcke abomynacyon, euery one defyleth hys neghbours wyfe: & shall ye then possesse the lande? ²⁷ Saye thou these wordes vnto them: Thus sayeth the Lorde God: As truelye as I lyue all ye that dwell in thys wyldernesse, shalbe slayne with the sweard: what so euer is vpon the feld, will I geue vnto the beastes to be deuoured: those that be in stronge holdes & dennes shall dye of the pestylence. ²⁸ For I wyll make the lande so desolate and waste, and the pompe of her strength shall come to an ende. The mountaynes in Israell shalbe so waste, that no man shall trauayle therby. ²⁹ Then shall they learne to knowe, that I am the Lorde, when I make the lande waste and desolate, because of all theyr abomynacyons, that they haue wrought.

²³ But wo be to them that be with chylde, and to them that geue sucke in those dayes: for ther shalbe great trouble in the lande, and wrath ouer all this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall on the edge of the swearde, and shalbe lead captyue into all nacyons. And Ierusalem shalbe troden vnder fote of the gentyls vntyll the tyme of the gentyls be fulfylled.
