² Wher pryde is, ther is shame also and confusion: but where as is lowlynes, there is wysdome.

³⁴ As for the scornefull, he shall laugh them to scorne, but he shal geue grace vnto the lowly. ³⁵ The wise shall haue honour in possession, but shame is the promocion that foles shall haue.

³³ The feare of the Lord is the righte scyence of wysdome, and lowlines goeth before honure.

¹⁸ Presumptuousnes goth before destruction, & after aproud stomake ther foloweth a fall. ¹⁹ Better is it to be of humble mynde with the lowly, then to deuyde the spoyles wyth the proud.

¹² After pryde commeth destruccion, and honour after lowlines.

²³ After pryde commeth a fal, but a lowly spirit bringeth great worshippe.

⁸ When thou arte bydden to a weddynge of anye man, sit not downe in the hyest roume, least a more honorable man then thou be bydden of hym, ⁹ & he that bade both hym and the, come and saye to the: geue thys man roume, and thou then begynne with shame to take the lowest roume. ¹⁰ But rather when thou arte bydden, go and sit in the lowest roume, that when he that bade the, commeth, he maye saye vnto the frende sit vp hyer. Then shalte thou haue worshyppe in the preseuce of them that sitte at meat with the. ¹¹ For whosoeuer exalteth him selfe, shalbe broughte lowe. And he that humbleth him selfe, shalbe exalted.

¹⁴ I tell you: this man departed home to hys house iustifyed more then the other. For euerye man that exalteth hym selfe, shalbe brought lowe. And he that humbleth hym selfe, shalbe exalted.

¹ To speake of thinges dedicate vnto Idols, we are sure that we all haue knowledge, knowledge maketh a man swel, but loue edyfyeth. ² If anye man thinke that he knoweth anie thinge, he knoweth nothinge yet as he ought to knowe.
