²⁸ He that trusteth in hys ryches shall haue a fall, but the righteous shall florish as the grene leaf.

¹² yea, & when thou hast eaten and fylled thy selfe and hast built goodly houses and dwelt therein, ¹³ & when thy beasse and thy shepe are waxed manye & thy syluer and golde is multiplied & al that thou hast encreased, ¹⁴ then beware lest thyne herte ryse & thou forget the Lorde thy God which brought the out of the land of Egypt the house of bondage,

²⁴ Haue I put my truste in goulde? Or haue I sayde to the fynest gould of all: thou art my confidence? ²⁵ Haue I reioysed because my substaunce was great, and because my hande gat so muche?

³ Suche a man is lyke a tree planted by the watersyde, that bringeth forthe hys frute in due season. His leaues shall not fall af, & loke whatsoeuer he doth, it shall prospere.

⁶ They that put their trust in their good, & boast theym selfes in the multitude of theyr ryches.

⁷ Lo, this is the man, that toke not God for his strength but trusted vnto the multitud of his riches, & was myghty in his wickednes. ⁸ As for me, I am lyke a grene olyue tree in the house of God: my truste is in the tender mercy of God for euer and euer.

¹⁰ O trust not in wronge and robbery, geue not youre selues vnto vanitye: if ryches encrease, set not your herte vpon them.

¹² The righteous shall florish lyke a palme tree, and growe like a Cedre of Libanus. ¹³ Suche as be planted in the house of the Lorde, be frutefull, ¹⁴ plenteous and grene.

¹⁵ The rich mans goodes are his strong hold, but pouerte oppresseth the poore.

²¹ Thy people shalbe all godly, and possesse the land for euer: the floure of my plantinge, the worcke of my handes, whereof I wyll reioyce.

⁸ For he shalbe as a tre, that is planted by the water syde: which spredeth out the rote vnto moystness, whom the heate can not harme, when it commeth, but his leaues are grene. And though there growe but lytle frute because of drouth, yet is he not carefull, but he neuer leaueth of to brynge forth fruite.

²⁴ And hys disciples were astonyed at his wordes. But Iesus answered agayne, and sayed vnto them: chyldren howe harde is it for them, that truste in rychesse, to enter into the kyngdome of God. ²⁵ It is easyer for a camell to go thorowe the eye of a nedle, then for a ryche man to enter into the kyngdom of God.

²⁰ But God sayed vnto hym: Thou fole, thys nyghte wyll they fetche awaye thy soule agayne from the. Then whose shall these thinges be which thou haste prouyded?

¹⁷ Charge them that are ryche in this worlde shal they be not exceadyng wyse, and that they truste not in the vncertayne ryches, but in the lyuyng God, which geueth vs aboundauntly al thynges to enioy them,
