Proverbs 2:7 Cross References - Matthew

⁷ He preserueth the welfare of the righteous, & defendeth them that walke innocently:

⁸ wherin the proude & hye minded walke not, and where no lyon commeth.

¹¹ For the Lord God is a light and defence, the Lorde wyll geue grace and worshyppe, and no good thynge shall he wytholde from them that lyue a godly lyfe.

² My hope and my castell, my defence and my deliuerer, my shylde in whome I trust, which gouerneth the people that is vnder me.

¹⁴ I can geue counsayl, & be a gyde: I haue vnderstanding I haue strength.

⁸ The wysdome of hym that hath vnderstanding is, to take hede vnto hys way but the folyshnes of the vnwyse disceaueth.

¹⁸ Who so leadetth a godly and an inocent life, shalbe, safe: but he that goeth frowarde wayes, shall once haue a fall.

⁵ All the wordes of God are pure & cleane, for he is a shyeld vnto al them, that put theyr trust in him.

¹⁹ For it is written: I will destroye the wysdome of the wyse, and wyll caste awaye the vnderstandinge of the prudent.

²⁴ but vnto them, whiche are called both of Iewes and Grekes we preache Christe the power of God, and the wisdome of God.

³⁰ And vnto him partaine ye in Christe Iesus, whiche of God is made to vs wysdome, and also rightuousnes, and sanctifiynge and redemption.

⁶ That we speake of, is wisdome amonge that are perfecte: not the wisdome of this world (whiche go to nought) ⁷ but we speake that wysdome of God, whiche is in secrete and lyeth hyd, whiche God ordeined before the world vnto oure glory,

¹⁸ Let no man deceyue hym selfe. Yf anye man seme, wyse amonge you, let hym be a fole in thys worlde that he maye be wyse. ¹⁹ For the wysdome of this worlde is folyshnes wyth God. For it is wrytten: he compaseth the wyse in theyr craftynes.

³ in whom are hyd al the treasures of wysdom and knowledge.

¹⁵ and for as muche also as thou haste knowen holy scrypture of a chyld, whiche is able to make the wyse vnto saluacion thorowe the fayth which is in Christ Iesu. ¹⁶ For al scripture geuen by inspyracion of God, is profytable to teache, to improue, to amende and to instruct in ryghtuousnes, ¹⁷ that the man of God maye be perfecte and prepared vnto all good workes.

¹⁵ Thys wysedome descendeth not from aboue: but is earthye, & naturall, and deuelyshe: ¹⁶ For where enuiynge and stryfe is there is vnstablenes and all maner of euyll workes. ¹⁷ But the wysedome that is from aboue, is fyrste pure, then peasable, gentle, and easye to be entreated, full of mercye & good frutes, wythoute iudgynge, and wythout simulacyon:
