² O my God, I crye in the daye tyme, but thou hearest not: and in the night season also I take no rest.

³ My teares are my meate daye and nighte whyle it is daylye sayed vnto me: where is now thy God?

¹⁶ As for me, I will call vnto God, and the Lord shall helpe me. ¹⁷ In the euenynge, mornyng and at noone daye will I mourne and complayne: and he shall heare my voyce.

⁸ Though I crye and call piteously, yet heareth he not my prayer.

⁴⁴ Thou hast hyd thy selfe in a cloude, that oure prayer shulde not go thorow.

⁴⁴ And he lefte them, and went agayne and prayed the thyrde tyme, sayinge the same wordes.

¹² And it furtuned in those dayes that he went out into a mountaine for to praye, and contynued all night in prayer to God.

⁷ And shall not God aduenge his electe, which crye daye and nyghte vnto hym, ye though he defarre them?

⁴¹ And he gate him selfe from them, about a stones cast, & kneled doune, & prayed ⁴² saiynge: Father if thou wylt, wythdrawe this cup from me. Neuertheles, not my wyll, but thyne be fulfylled. ⁴³ And ther appered an aungell vnto him from heauen, confortinge him. ⁴⁴ And he was in agonye, and praied some what longer. And his sweate was lyke droppes of bloude trycklinge doune to the grounde. ⁴⁵ And he rose vp from prayer, and came to his disciples, and founde them slepinge for sorowe, ⁴⁶ and sayde vnto them: Why slepe ye? Ryse and praye, leste ye fall into temptacion.

¹⁰ whyl we nighte and daye praye excedinglye that we mighte se you presently, and might fulfill that which is lackynge in youre fayth.

³ I thanke God, whom I serue from myne elders with pure conscience, that wythout ceasyng I make mencyon of the in my prayers nyghte and daye,
