¹ And there appered a greate wonder in heauen: A woman clothed with the sunne, and the mone vnder her fete, and vpon her heade a croune of .xij. starres. ² And she was wyth chylde and cryed trauailling in byrth, and payned redy to be deliuered. ³ And there appered another wonder in heauen, for behold a great Dragon, hauinge .vij. heades, and ten hornes & crounes vpon his heades, ⁴ and hys tayle drewe the thyrde parte of the starres, and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stode before the woman, whyche was redye to be delyuered, for to deuoure her chyld assone as it were borne. ⁵ And she brought furth a man chyld, which should rule al nacyons wyth a rod of Iron. And her sonne was taken vp vnto God, and to hys seate. ⁶ And the woman fled into wyldernes, where she had a place prepared of God, that they should feede her there a thousand .ij. hundred and .lx. dayes. ⁷ And there was great battayle in heauen, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angells, ⁸ and preuayled not, neyther was theyr place found any more in heauen. ⁹ And the great dragon, that olde serpente called the deuyll and Sathanas was caste out. Whiche deceyueth al the worlde. And he was cast into the earth, and his angelles were cast out also. ¹⁰ And I hearde a loude voyce sayinge: in heauen is nowe made saluacyon, and strength and the kyngdome of our God, and the power of hys Christe. For he is caste doune, whyche accused them before God daye and nyghte. ¹¹ And they ouercame hym by the bloude of the lambe, and by the worde of theyr testimony, and they loued not theyr liues vnto the death. ¹² Therfore reioyse heauens, and ye that dwell in them, Wo to the inhabiters of the earth, & of the sea, for the deuyll is come doune vnto you, which hath great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a shorte tyme. ¹³ And when the dragon sawe, that he was caste vnto the earth, he persecuted the woman, which broughte forth the man chyld. ¹⁴ And to the woman were geuen two winges of a greate egle, that she might flye into the wildernes, into her place, where she is noryshed for a tyme, tymes, & halfe a time from the presence of the serpente. ¹⁵ And the dragon cast out of his mouth water after the woman as it had bene a riuer, because she should haue be caught of the floud. ¹⁶ And the earth holpe the woman, & the earth opened her mouth, and swalowed vp the ryuer which the dragon cast out of his mouth. ¹⁷ And the dragon was wroth wyth the woman, and went and made warre wyth the remnaunt of her seede, whiche kepe the commaundementes of God, and haue the testimonye of Iesus Christe. And I stode on the sea sande.

³¹ But when the Ambassadoures of the Lordes of Babylon were sent to hym to enquyre of the wondre that chaunsed in the land, God lefte hym: to tempte hym, that all that was in hys herte myght be knowen.

¹¹ For the Lord God is a light and defence, the Lorde wyll geue grace and worshyppe, and no good thynge shall he wytholde from them that lyue a godly lyfe.

² Thou deckest thy self with light, as it were with a garment, thou spredest out the heauen lyke a curtayne.

¹⁰ What is she this, that pepeth out as the mornynge? fayre as the moone, excellent as the sunne, glorious as an army of men with their baners.

¹⁴ Then shal Syon saye: God hath forsaken me, and the Lorde hath forgotten me. ¹⁵ Doth a wyfe forget the chylde of her wombe, & the sonne whom she hath borne? And though she do forget, yet wyll not I forget the. ¹⁶ Beholde, I haue written the vp vpon my handes, thy walles are euer in my syght. ¹⁷ They that haue broken the doune, shall make haste to build the vp agayne: and they that made the waste, shall dwell in the. ¹⁸ Lyft vp thyne eyes, & loke aboute the: all these shall gather them together, and come to the. As truly as I lyue (saith the Lorde) thou shalte put them all vpon the, as an apparell, and gyrde them to the, as a bryde doth her Iewels. ¹⁹ As for thy lande that lyeth desolate, wasted & destroyed: it shalbe to narowe for them, that shall dwell in it. And they that wolde deuoure the, shalbe farre awaye. ²⁰ Then the childe whom the baren shal bringe forth vnto the, shall saye in thyne eare: thys place is to narowe, syt nye together, that I maye haue roume. ²¹ Then shalt thou thincke by thy self: Who hath begotten me these: seing I am baren & alone, a captyue & an oute cast? And who hath noryshed them vp for me? I am desolate and alone, but from whence come these? ²² And therfore thus sayth the Lorde God. Beholde, I wyll stretch out myne hand to the Gentyles, and set vp my token to the people, They shal bryng the thy sonnes in theyr lappes, and carye thy doughters vnto the vpon theyr shoulders. ²³ For kynges shalbe thy noursynge fathers, and Quenes shalbe thy noursynge mothers. They shall fall before the wt theyr faces flat vpon the earth, and lycke vp the duste of thy fete: that thou mayest knowe, how that I am the Lord. And wo so putteth his trust in me, shal not be confounded.

⁵ For he that made the, shalbe thy Lorde & husband (whose name is the Lorde of hostes) & thyne auenger shalbe euen the holy one of Israel, the Lorde of the whole worlde. ⁶ For the Lord shal call the, beynge as a desolate sorowful woman and as a younge wyfe that hath broken her wedlocke: sayeth thy God. ⁷ A lytle whyle haue I forsaken the, but with greate mercyfulnes shall I take the vp vnto me.

¹ And therfore get the vp by tymes, for thy lyght cometh, and the glory of the Lorde shall ryse vp vpon the. ² For lo, whyle the darcknesse and cloude couered the earth and the people, the Lorde shal shew the lyght, and hys glorye shalbe sene in the. ³ The Gentyles shal come to thy light, & kynges to the brightnes that springeth forth vpon the. ⁴ Lyft vp thyne eyes, & loke round aboute the: All these gather them selues, and come to the. Sonnes shal come vnto the from farre, and doughters shal gather them selues to the on euery syde.

¹⁹ The Sunne shall neuer be thy day lyght, and the light of the Mone shal neuer shyne vnto the, but the Lorde hym selfe shalbe thyne euerlasting lyght, and thy God shalbe thy glory. ²⁰ Thy Sunne shall neuer go doune, & thy Mone shal not be taken awaye, for the Lorde him selfe shalbe thy euerlastynge light, & thy sorowfull dayes shalbe rewarded the.

¹⁰ And therfore I am ioyful in the Lorde, and my soule reioyseth in my God. For he shall put vpon me the garment of health, & couer me with the mantle of righteousnes. He shal decke me lyke a brydegrom, and as a bryde that hath her apparell vpon her.

³ Thou shalt be a croune in the hande of the Lorde, and a glorious garlande in the hande of thy God.

¹⁹ Thus will I marye the vnto myne owne selfe for euermore: yea, euen to my selfe wil I marye the, in righteousnesse, in equyte, in louinge kindnesse and mercye. ²⁰ In fayth also will I mary the vnto my selfe, and thou shalt know the Lorde.

¹⁶ The Lorde their God shall delyuer them in the day, as the flock of his people: for the stones of his Sanctuary shalbe set vp in his land,

² But vnto you that feare my name, shall the Sonne of ryghteousnesse aryse, and healthe shalbe vnder his winges: ye shal go forth, & multipply as the fat calues.

³⁸ Then aunswered certaine of the scrybes and of the Phariseis sayinge. Master, we woulde fayne se a sygne of the.

³⁰ And then shal apeare the sygne of the sonne of man in heauen. And then shall all the kynredes of the earth morne, and they shall se the sonne of man come in the cloudes of heauen with power and great glorye.

²⁵ and the starres of heauen shall fal: and the powers which are in heauen shall moue.

¹¹ and great earthquakes shall be in all quarters and honger, and pestilence and fearfull thinges. And great sygnes shall ther be from heauen.

²⁵ And ther shalbe signes in the sunne, and in the mone, and in the starres: & in the earth, the people shalbe in such perplexitye, that they shall not tel which waye to turne them selues. The sea and the waters shall roore,

²⁹ He that hath the bryde is the brydegrome. But the frend of the brydegrom, whiche standeth by and heareth him reioyseth greatlye of the brydegromes voyce. Thys my ioye is fulfilled.

¹⁹ And I wyll shewe wounders in heauen aboue, and tokens in the earth beneth, bloude & fyre, and the vapoure of smoke.

²² The ryghteousnes no doubte whiche is good before God commeth by the fayth of Christe, vnto all and vpon all that beleue. There is no difference:

¹⁴ but put ye on the Lorde Iesus Christ. And make not prouysyon for the fleshe, to fulfyll the lustes of it.

² For I am gelous ouer you with godly gelousye. For I coupled you to one man, to make you a chaste virgyn to Christe.

²⁷ For al ye that are baptysed, haue put on Christ.

¹⁴ God forbyd that I shoulde reioyce but in the crosse of oure Lorde Iesu Christe, wherby the worlde is crucifyed as touchyng me, and I as concernynge the worlde.

²⁵ Husbandes loue youre wyues, euen as Christe loued the congregation, and gaue him selfe for it, ²⁶ to sanctifye it, and cleansed it in the fountayne of water thorowe the worde ²⁷ to make it vnto hym selfe a glorious congregation wythout spotte or wrinckle, or anye suche thinge: but that it shoulde be holy and wythout blame.

³² Thys is a greate secrete, but I speake betwene Christe and the congregation.

¹¹ For the grace of God, that bringeth saluacion vnto al men, hath apered ¹² & teacheth vs that we shoulde denye vngodlynes & worldly lustes, and that we shoulde lyue sobre mynded ryghtuouslye and Godly in this present worlde,

²⁰ and the misery of the .vij. starres which thou sawest in my right hande, and the .vij. golden candelstickes. The .vij. starres are the messengers of the .vij. congregacions: And the .vij. candelstyckes which thou sawest are the .vij. congregacyons.

¹⁹ And the temple of God was opened in heauen, and there was sene in hys temple the arcke of hys testamente, and there folowed lyghtenynges, and voyces, and thonderynge and eartquake and muche hayle

³ And there appered another wonder in heauen, for behold a great Dragon, hauinge .vij. heades, and ten hornes & crounes vpon his heades,

¹ And I saw another signe in heauen greate and maruellous .vij. angels, hauynge the seuen laste plages, for in them is fullfylled the wrath of GOD.

¹⁴ & the wal of the citie had .xij. foundacyons, & in them the names of the lambes twelue Apostles.

²³ & the cytye hath no nede of the sunne neyther of the mone to lyghten it. For the bryghtnes of God dyd lyght it, & the lambe was the lyght of it.

¹¹ Wyth trauayle and laboure of hys soule, shall he obtayne great ryches. My ryghtuous seruaunte shall wyth hys wysdome iustifye & delyuer the multitude, for he shal beare away theyr synnes,

¹ Therfore be glad nowe, thou baren that bearest not. Reioyce, singe, and be mery, thou that arte not with chyld. For the desolate hath mo children, then the maried wife sayeth the Lorde.

⁷ lyke as when a wyfe bryngeth forth a man chylde, or euer she suffre the payne of the byrth, and anguysh of the trauayle. ⁸ Who euer hearde or sawe suche thinges? doth the grounde beare in one daye? or are the people borne all at ones, as Sion beareth her sonnes? ⁹ For thus sayeth the Lorde: Am I he that maketh other to beare, and beare not my selfe? Am not I he that beareth, and maketh baren? sayeth thy God

³ In the meane whyle he plageth them for a season, vntyll the tyme that she (whyche shall beare) haue borne: then shall the remnaunt of hys brethren be conuerted vnto the chyldren of Israell.

²¹ A woman when she trauayleth, hathe sorowe, because her houre is come: but assone as she is deliuered of the child she remembreth no more the anguish, for ioye that a man is borne into the worlde.

¹⁹ My lytle chyldren (of whome I trauayle in byrth agayne vntyll Christe be fashyoned in you)

²⁷ For it is written: Reioyce thou baren, that bearest no chyldren: breake forth and crye, thou that trauaylest not. For the desolate hath many more children then she whiche hath an husband.

⁴ and hys tayle drewe the thyrde parte of the starres, and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stode before the woman, whyche was redye to be delyuered, for to deuoure her chyld assone as it were borne.

¹⁵ By the heade, is vnderstande the Senatoure and honorable man, and by the tayle, the Prophet that preacheth lyes.

¹ Then the Lorde with his heauye, great, & longe swerd shall vyset Leuyathan that inuyncible serpent: euen Leuiathan that croked serpent & shall slaye the whalfysh in the sea.

⁹ Wake vp, wake vp, and be strong: O thou arme of the Lorde: wake vp, lyke as in tymes paste, euer and sence the worlde beganne.

⁴² The toes of the fete that were parte of yron and parte of claye, sygnifyeth, that it shalbe a kyngdome partely stronge and partly weake.

⁷ After this I sawe in a vision by night, and beholde, the fourthe beast was grymme and horrible, and maruelous strong. It had great yron teeth, it deuoured and destroyed, and stamped the resydue vnder hys fete. It was farre vnlyke the other beastes, that were before it: for it had ten hornes, whereof I toke good hede. ⁸ And beholde, there came vp amonge them another lyke horne, before whom there were thre of the fyrste hornes pluckte awaye. Beholde, thys horne had eyes lyke a man, and a mouth speakynge presumptuous thynges.

²⁰ I desired also to knowe the trueth, as touching the ten hornes that he had vpon hys heade, and thys other, whiche came vp afterwarde, before whose face there fell doune thre: whyche horne had eyes, and a mouthe that spake presumptuous thynges, and loked with a grymmer vysage, then his felowes.

²⁴ The ten hornes are ten kinges, that shall aryse out of the kingedom, after whom there shall stande vp another, whiche shalbe greater then the fyrste.

¹⁷ And the dragon was wroth wyth the woman, and went and made warre wyth the remnaunt of her seede, whiche kepe the commaundementes of God, and haue the testimonye of Iesus Christe. And I stode on the sea sande.

¹³ And I sawe thre vncleane sprytes, lyke frogges come out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast, & out of the mouth of the false prophete.

³ And he caryed me awaye into the wildernes in the spirite. And I saw a woman sit vpon a rose colored beaste ful of names of blasphemye, which had .x. hornes. ⁴ And the woman was arayed in purple & rose coloure, and decked wyth golde, precious stones and pearles, and had a cuppe of golde in her hand full of al abominacions and fylthines of her fornicacion.

⁷ And the angel said vnto me, wherfore maruailest thou? I wil shewe the the mistery of the woman, & of the beast that beareth her, whyche had seuen heades & .x. hornes.

⁹ And here is a minde that hath wysdome. The seuen heades are seuen mountaines, on which the woman sytteth, ¹⁰ they are also .vij. kynges. Fyue are fallen, and one is, and another is not yet come. When he commeth he muste continue a space.

¹² And the .x. hornes, which thou seest, are .x. kinges, which haue receiued no kingdom, but shal receiue power as kynges at one hour with the beast.

¹⁶ And the ten hornes, which thou sawest vpon the beast, are they that shal hate the whore, & shal make her desolate and naked, and shal eate her flesh and burne her wyth fyre.

¹² His eyes were as a flame of fyre, and on hys head were manye crounes, and he had a name wrytten, that no man knewe but he hym self.

² And he toke the dragon that olde serpent which is the deuyl and Satanas, & he bound him a thousand yeares:

¹⁶ when ye do the offyce of a mydwyfe to the women of the Hebrues, and see in the byrthe tyme that it is a boye, kyl it. But if it be a mayed, lette it lyue.

⁹ Yea oute of one of the least of these hornes, there came vp yet another horne, whiche waxed maruelous greate: towarde the southe, towarde the east, and towarde the fayre pleasaunt lande. ¹⁰ It grew vp to the host of heauen, wherof it did cast some doune to the grounde, & of the starres also, & trode them vnder fete. ¹¹ Yea it grewe vp vnto the prince of the host from whom the dayly offeringe was taken, & the place of his Sanctuary casten doune: ¹² & a certayne ceason was geuen vnto it, against the daylye offeringe (because of wickednesse) that it might cast doune the verite to the ground and so to prospere in all thynges, that it went aboute.

³ When Herode the kinge had herde this, he was troubled, and al Ierusalem with him, ⁴ and he gathered al the chiefe priestes and scribes of the people, & axed of them where Christe shoulde be borne. ⁵ And they sayd vnto hym: at Bethleem in Iury. For thus it is wrytten by the prophete. ⁶ And thou Bethleem in the land of Iury, art not the least concerning the Princes of Iuda. For out of the shal come the captaine, that shall gouerne my people Israel. ⁷ Then Herode preuily called the wyse men, and diligently enquired of them, the tyme of the starre that apeared, ⁸ and sent them to Bethleem sayinge: Go and searche diligentlye for the childe. And when ye haue founde hym, bringe me worde, that I may come and worshyppe him also. ⁹ When they hearde the kynge, they departed: and lo the starre which they sawe in the east went before them, tyll it came and stode ouer the place wher the childe was. ¹⁰ When they sawe the starre, they were maruelously glad: ¹¹ and went into the house, and found the chylde with Mary his mother, and kneled doune & worshypped him, and opened their treasures and offred to him giftes golde, frankinsence and myrre. ¹² And after they were warned of God in a dreame, that they should not go agayne to Herode, they retourned into their owne countre another waye. ¹³ When they were departed: Beholde the aungell of the Lorde appeared to Ioseph in a dreame sayinge. Aryse, and take the chylde & his mother, and flee into Egipte, and abyde there tyll I bringe the worde. For Herode wil seke the chylde to destroye him. ¹⁴ Then he arose and toke the chylde and his mother by night and departed into Egypte, ¹⁵ and was there vnto the death of Herode to fulfyll that whiche was spoken of the Lord by the prophete, which saieth out of Egipt haue I called my sonne. ¹⁶ Then Herode perceauing that he was mocked of the wyse men, was excedinge wroth, & sent forth and slue al the children that were in Bethleem, and in all the costes therof, as many as were two yere olde and vnder according to the time which he had diligently searched out of the wise men.

⁴⁴ Ye are of youre father the deuyl, and the lustes of your father ye wyll do. He was a murtherer from the begynnyng, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truthe in hym. When he speaketh a lye, then speaketh he of hys owne. For he is a lyar, and the father therof.

⁸ Be sober and watch, for your aduersary the deuyll as a roringe Lyon walketh aboute, sekinge whom he may deuour,

⁷ The fyrste angel blewe, and these was made hayle and fyre, whiche were myngled wyth bloude, and they were cast into the earth, and the thyrde parte of the trees was burnte, and al grene grasse was brente.

¹⁰ And they had tayles lyke vnto Scorpyons, and there were stynges in theyr tayles. And their power was to hurte men fyue monethes.

¹⁹ For theyr power was in their mouthes and in theyr tayles, for theyr tayles were lyke vnto serpentes, and had heades, and wyth them they dyd hurt.

¹⁸ And the woman, which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth ouer the kinges of the earth.

⁹ Thou shalt rule them wyth a rodde of yron, and breake them in peces lyke an earthen vessell. ¹⁰ Be wyse nowe therfore, O ye Kinges, be warned, ye that are iudges of the earthe.

¹⁴ And therfore the Lorde shall geue you a token of hym selfe: Beholde, a vyrgyn shall conceyue and beare a sonne, and shall call hys name Emmanuel.

²² Howe longe wilte thou go astraye, O thou shrinkinge doughter? For the Lorde wil worke a new thynge vpon earthe: A woman shall compasse a man.

²⁵ and knewe her not tyl she had broughte forthe her fyrste sonne, and called hys name Iesus.

¹⁹ So then when the Lorde had spoken vnto them: he was receyued into heauen, and is set doune on the ryght hande of God.

² I knowe a man in Christe aboue .xiiij. yeares agone (whether he were in the bodye I cannot tell, or whether he were oute of the bodye I cannot tell, God knoweth) whiche was taken vp into the third heauen.

²⁶ and whosoeuer ouercommeth and kepeth my workes vnto the ende, to hym wyl I geue power ouer nacions, ²⁷ and he shal rule them with a rodde of yron: and as the vessels of a potter, shall he breake them to sheuers. Euen as I receyued of my father,

¹² And they harde a greate voyce from heauen, saying vnto them. Come vp hether. And they ascende vp into heauen in a cloud and their enemies sawe them.

² And she was wyth chylde and cryed trauailling in byrth, and payned redy to be deliuered.

¹⁵ & out of hys mouthe went out a sharpe swearde, that with it he should smyte the heathen. And he shal rule them wyth a rod of Iron, & he trode the wine fat of the fiercenes & wrath of almightye God.

³ get the hence and turne the eastwarde, & hyde thy selfe in the broke Karith, that lyeth before Iordan, ⁴ dryncke of the ryuer for I haue commaunded the rauens to fede the herte. ⁵ And he went and dyd accordynge vnto the worde of the Lorde: he went and dwelt by the broke Karith that lyeth before Iordan. ⁶ And the rauens brought hym breade and fleshe euery mornyng and euery euenynge, and he drancke of the broke.

⁹ vp, and get the to Sarephtha a citie of Sidon, and dwell there. Behold I haue commaunded a wydow there to sustayne the. ¹⁰ And he arose and went to Sarephtha. And when he came to the gate of the cytie, there was a wydowe there gatheringe stickes. And he called to her and sayd: fet me I pray the, a litle water in a dyshe that I may drincke. ¹¹ And as she went to fet it, he cryed to her and sayde: bringe me I praie the, a morsel of bread in thyne hande. ¹² And she answered: as surely as the lorde thy God lyueth, I haue no breade, but euen an handfull of mele in a pytcher, and a lytle oyle in a cruse. And se, I haue gathered a few styckes for to go & bake it for my and my sonne, that we maye eate it, and then dye. ¹³ And Eliah sayde vnto her: feare not, but go and do as thou hast sayde: but make me therof a lytle cake fyrst of all, and brynge it out to me: and afterwarde make for the and thy sonne. ¹⁴ For thus sayeth the God of Israel: the pitcher of mele shal not be wasted neither shall thy oyle cruse be withoute oyle, vntil the Lorde haue sent rayne vpon the earthe. ¹⁵ And she went and dyd as Eliah bad. And she and he and her house dyd eate a good space, ¹⁶ & the pitcher of mele wasted not, neyther was the oyle cruse withoute oyle accordynge to the worde of the Lorde whyche he spake thorowe Eliah.

⁴ And he went a dayes iourney into the wildernesse, and when he was come sat doune vnder a Ginaper tree, and desyred for his soule, that he myght dye, and saide, it is nowe ynough O Lorde, take my soule, for I am no better then my fathers. ⁵ And as he laye and slepte vnder the Ginaper tree: beholde, there came an Aungell and touched him, and sayd vnto him: vp and eate. ⁶ And he loked aboute him: and se, there was a loffe of broyled breade and a cruse of water at hys heade. And he ate and drancke & layde hym doune agayne to slepe. ⁷ And the Aungell of the Lorde came agayne the seconde tyme, and touched him, and sayde: vp and eate, for thou hast a longe iourney to go. ⁸ And he arose & dyd eate and drincke and went in the strength of that meate fourtye dayes and fourtye nyghtes, vnto Horeb the mount of God,

¹¹ Then the diuel left him, & beholde, the aungels came and ministred vnto him.

² and the quyre whiche is wythin the temple caste out and meate it not: for it is geuen vnto the Gentyles and the holy cytye shal they treade vnder fote .xlij. monethes. ³ And I will geue power vnto my .ij. witnesses, & they shal prophesy .M.ij.C. & .lx. daies, cloteth in sacke cloth.

¹⁴ And to the woman were geuen two winges of a greate egle, that she might flye into the wildernes, into her place, where she is noryshed for a tyme, tymes, & halfe a time from the presence of the serpente.

⁵ And there was mouth geuen vnto hym, that spake greate thinges and blasphemies, and power was geuen vnto hym, to do .xlij. monethes.

⁴⁹ How he sent vppon them the furiousnesse of his wrath, anger & displeasure: with trouble and falling in of euell aungels.

⁵ For my swearde (saieth he) shalbe bathed in heauen, and shall immediatly come downe vpon Idumea, and vpon the people which I haue cursed for my vengeance.

⁴ Beholde, I shall geue him for a wytnesse amonge the folke, for a Prynce and Captaine vnto the people.

¹³ bad nor the prynce ouer the kingedom of the Perses withstand me .xxi. dayes. But lo, Michael one of the chefe Princes, came to helpe me, hym haue I left by the kyng of Persia,

²¹ Neuertheles I will shew the the thinge, that is fast noted in the scripture of truethe. And as for all yonder matters, there is none that helpeth me in them, but Michael youre prynce.

¹ The tyme wil come also, that the greate Prince Michael, which standeth on thy people syde, shal aryse vp, for there shall come a tyme of trouble, such as neuer was, sens there beganne to be any people, vnto that same time. Then shal thy people be deliuered, yea, al those that be found written in the boke.

⁴¹ The sonne of man shall sende forth hys Aungels, and they shall gather out of hys kyngedom all thynges that offende, and them whych do iniquity,

²⁷ For the sonne of man shall come in the glorye of hys father, wyth hys aungels: & then shall he rewarde euery man accordyng to his dedes.

³¹ And he shall sende his aungels with the greate voyce of a trompe, and they shall gader together his chosen from the foure windes, and from the one ende of the worlde to the other.

⁴¹ Then shall the kinge saye vnto them that shalbe on the lyfte hande. Departe from me ye cursed, into euerlastinge fyre, which is prepared for the deuyll and hys angels.

⁵³ Eyther thynkest thou that I can not nowe praye to my father, and he shal geue me more then .xij. legyons of Angelles?

⁷ And lest I shoulde be exalted out of measure thorowe the aboundaunce of reuelacions there was geuen vnto me vnquyetnes of the fleshe, the messenger of Satan to buffete me: because I shoulde no be exalted oute of measure.

¹² For we wrestle not againste fleshe and bloude: but against rule, agaynst power, and againste worldlye rulers of the darckenes of thys worlde, againste spyrytuall wickednes, for heauenly thynges.

⁷ and to you whiche are troubled, reste wyth vs, when the Lorde Iesus shall shewe hym selfe from heauen wyth hys myghtye Aungels,

¹⁰ For it became him, for whom are al thynges and by whom are al thinges, after that he had brought many sonnes vnto glory, that he should make the Lorde of their saluacyon perfect thorowe sufferinge.

⁴ For yf God spared not the aungels that sinned but cast them downe into hell, and deliuered them into chayns of darckenes, to be kept vnto iudgement,

⁹ Yet Michael the Archangel when he stroue agaynst the deuyl, and dysputed aboute the bodye of Moyses, durste not geue raylyug sentence, but sayed: the Lorde rebuke the.

³ And there appered another wonder in heauen, for behold a great Dragon, hauinge .vij. heades, and ten hornes & crounes vpon his heades, ⁴ and hys tayle drewe the thyrde parte of the starres, and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stode before the woman, whyche was redye to be delyuered, for to deuoure her chyld assone as it were borne.

⁷ And it was geuen vnto hym to make warre wyth the Saynctes, and to ouercome them. And power was geuen hym ouer al kynredes, tonges and nacions,

¹¹ And I sawe heauen open, & beholde a whyt horsse: and he that sate vpon hym was faythful and true, & in rightuousnes dyd he iudge & make battayl. ¹² His eyes were as a flame of fyre, and on hys head were manye crounes, and he had a name wrytten, that no man knewe but he hym self. ¹³ And he was clothed with a vesture dipt in bloud, & his name is called the worde of God. ¹⁴ And the warryers whiche were in heauen, folowed hym vpon whyte horsses, clothed with whyte & pure raynes: ¹⁵ & out of hys mouthe went out a sharpe swearde, that with it he should smyte the heathen. And he shal rule them wyth a rod of Iron, & he trode the wine fat of the fiercenes & wrath of almightye God. ¹⁶ And hath on hys vesture & on hys thighe a name wrytten: king of kinges, & Lord of Lordes, ¹⁷ And I sawe an angel stand in the sunne & he cryed wyth a loud voyce, saiyng to al the foules that flye by the myndes of heauen come & gather youre selues together vnto the supper of the great God, ¹⁸ that ye may eate the flesh of kinges, & of hye captaynes, & the fleshe of myghty men, and the flesh of horsses, & of them that sit on them, & the flesh of all free men & bonde men, & of small & great. ¹⁹ And I sawe the beast and the kynges of the earth, & theyr warriers gathered together to make battayl against him that sat on the horse & agaynst hys souldyers. ²⁰ And the beast was taken, & with hym that false prophete that wrought miracles before him with which he deceyued them that receiued the beastes marke, & them that worshipped his Image These both were cast into a ponde of fyre burnyng with brimstone:

¹⁰ ner turneth agayne into hys house, nether shall hys place knowe him eny more.

¹⁸ But yf it be taken out of hys place, euery man denyeth it, saying: I knowe the not.

⁹ So that the eye whiche sawe him before, getteth nowe no syght of hym, and his place knoweth hym no more.

²¹ A vehemente wynde caried him hence and departeth: a storme plucketh hym oute of his place. ²² It russheth in vpon hym, and spareth him not, he maye not escape from the power thereof. ²³ Then clappe men their handes at him, yea and yeast of him, when they loke vpon his place.

⁴ Lest myne enemye saye: I haue preuayled agaynst hym: for if I be cast doune, they that troble me will reioyse at it.

¹⁰ Suffre yet a litle whyle, and the vngodly shalbe cleane gone: thou shalt loke after hys place, and he shalbe awaye.

¹⁰ All Heathen compassed me round about but in the name of the lorde wyll I destroye them. ¹¹ They kepe me in on euery side, but in the name of the lord, I wyll destroy them. ¹² They came aboute me lyke bees, and wer as hote as the fyre in the thornes, but in the name of the Lorde I wyll destroye them. ¹³ They thrust at me, that I myght fall, but the lorde was my helpe.

² Yea, many a tyme haue they fought gaainst me fro my youth vp, but thei haue not ouercome me.

¹⁹ They shall fyght against the, but they shall not be able to ouercome the: for I am with the, to delyuer the, sayeth the Lord.

²² Feare ye not me, sayeth the Lorde? Are ye not ashamed, to loke me in the face? which bynde the sea wyth the sande, so that it can not passe hys boundes: For thoughe it rage, yet can it do nothynge, and thoughe the waues thereof do swell, yet maye they not go ouer.

¹⁸ And I saye also vnto the that thou arte Peeter: and vpon thys rocke I wil buylde my congregacion. And the gates of hell shall not preuayle against it.

²⁵ that the one may take the roume of this mynystracion and Apostleshippe, from that which Iudas by transgression fel, that he myght go to his owne place.

³¹ What shall we then say vnto these thynges? yf God be on oure syde: who can be agaynste vs? ³² whyche spared not his owne sonne but gaue hym for vs all: how shall he not wyth hym geue vs all thynges also? ³³ Who shall laye anye thynge to the charg of Goddes chosen? It is God that iustifieth ³⁴ who then shall condempne? It is Christe whyche is dead, ye rather which is rysen agayne, which is also on the right hande of God, and maketh intercession for vs. ³⁵ Who shall seperate vs from the loue of God shall tribulation? or anguyshe? or persecution? othere honger? other nakednesse? other peryll? other swearde? ³⁶ As it is wrytten: For thy sake are we killed al day longe, and are counted as shepe appointed to be slayne. ³⁷ Neuerthelesse in all these thynges we ouercome stronglye thorowe hys helpe that loued vs. ³⁸ Yea and I am sure that neyther death, neither life, neyther angels, nor rule, neythere power, neythere thinges presente, neyther thynges to come, ³⁹ neyther heyght, neyther loweth, neyther any other creature? shall be able to depart vs from the lowe of God, shewed in Christ Iesu our Lord.

⁶ The aungels also whiche kepte not theyr fyrste estate: but lefte theyr habytacyon, he hath reserued in euerlastyng chaynes vnder darkenes vnto the iudgement of the greate daye:

¹¹ And they ouercame hym by the bloude of the lambe, and by the worde of theyr testimony, and they loued not theyr liues vnto the death.

¹ Bvt the serpent was sutyller than al the beastes of the felde, whych the Lord God had made: & sayd vnto the woman: yea hath God sayd in dede, ye shall not eate of al maner trees in the garden?

⁴ Then sayd the serpent vnto the woman: tush ye shal not dye: ⁵ but god doth know that when so euer ye should eate of it, your eyes should be opened, & ye should be as god, & know both good & euel.

¹³ And the Lorde God sayd vnto the woman: Wherfore dydest thou so? And the woman answered: The serpent deceyued me and I ate.

¹ And Satan stode vp agaynste Israel, and persuaded Dauid to nombre Israel.

⁶ Now vpon a tyme, when the seruauntes of God came & stode before the Lord, Sathan came also amonge them. ⁷ And the Lorde sayde vnto Sathan: From whence commest thou? Sathan answered the Lorde, and sayd: I haue gone aboute the lande and walcked thorow it. ⁸ Then sayde the Lorde vnto Sathan: hast thou not consydered my seruaunt Iob, how that he is an innocent & vertuous man: soch one as feareth God, & extrueth euel, & that there is none lyke hym in the lande? ⁹ Sathan answered, & sayde vnto the Lord: Doeth Iob feare God for nought? ¹⁰ hast thou not preserued him, his house, and all hys substaunce on euery syde? hast thou not blessed the worckes of his handes? Is not his possessyon encreased in the lande? ¹¹ But laye thyne hande vpon him a lytle, touche ones all that he hath, and (I holde) he shall curse the to thy face. ¹² And the Lorde sayd vnto Sathan: lo all that he hath, be in thy power: only vpon hym self se that thou laye not thyne hande. Then went Sathan forth from the Lorde.

⁶ Set an vngodly man to be ruler ouer him and let Satan stande at his ryghte hande.

¹² How art thou fallen from heauen (O Lucifer) thou faire mornyng childe? hast thou gotten a fal euen to the ground, thou that (not withstanding) diddest subdue the people.

²⁵ The wolfe and the lambe shall fede together, and the lyon shall eate haye like the bullocke. But earthe shalbe the serpentes meate. There shal noman hurte nor slaye another, in al my holy hyll, sayeth the Lorde.

¹⁶ Because of thy greate marchaundyse, thy hert is full of wickednesse, and thou haste offended. Therfore wyll I caste the from the mounte of God (O thou couerynge Cherub) and destroye the among the glisteryng stones.

¹ And he shewed me Iesua the hye priest, standynge before the angell of the Lorde, and Satan stode at hys ryghte hande to resiste hym. ² And the Lorde sayde vnto Satan: The Lorde reproue the (thou Satan) yea the Lorde that hath chosen Ierusalem, reproue the. Is not thys a brande taken out of the fyre?

¹ Then was Iesus led away of the spirite into wildernes, to be tempted of the deuyll.

⁵ Then the deuyll toke him vp into the holye cytye, and set him on a pinacle of the temple,

⁸ The deuil toke him vp again & ledde him into an exceding hye mountayne, and shewed him all the kingdoms of the world, & al the glory of them,

¹⁰ Then sayd Iesus vnto him. Auoide sathan. For it is wrytten, thou shalt worshippe the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serue.

³⁹ And the enemy that soweth them is the deuell. The Haruest is the ende of the worlde. And the reapers be the Aungels.

²⁴ For there shall aryse false Christes, and false prophetes, and shall do great myracles and wonders. In so much that if it were possyble the very electe should be deceiued.

¹² Those that are besyde the waye, are they that heare, and afterwarde commeth the deuyll and taketh awaye the worde out of their hertes leste they should beleue & be saued.

¹⁸ And he sayde vnto them: I sawe Sathan, as it had bene lyghtenynge, fall doune from heauen.

¹⁶ And ought not thys doughter of Abraham, whome Satan hath bounde lo .xviij. yeares, be lowsed from thys bonde on the Saboth daye?

³ Then entred Sathan into Iudas whose syr name was Iscaryot (whych was of the number of the twelue)

³¹ And the Lorde sayde: Simon Simon beholde, Sathan hath desyred you, to syfte you, as it were wheate,

³¹ Now is the iudgement of thys world: now shall the prince of thys worlde be caste oute.

³⁰ Here after will I not talke manye wordes vnto you. For the ruler of thys world cometh and hath noughte in me.

¹¹ and of iudgement, because the chiefe ruler of this worlde is iudged already.

³ Then said Peter. Ananias, how is it, that Sathan hath fylled thyne hert, that thou shouldest lye vnto the holy ghost, and kepe awaye part of the pryce of the lyuelod:

¹⁸ to open theyr eyes, that they myght turne from darckenes to lyght, and from the power of Satan vnto God: that they maye receiue forgeuenes of synnes, and inheritaunce amonge them whyche are sanctyfyed by fayth in me.

¹⁸ For they that are such, serue not the Lorde Iesus Christ: but theyr owne bellyes, and with swete preachynges & flatterynge wordes deceyue the hertes of the innocentes.

²⁰ The God of peace treade Sathan vnder your fete shortelye. The grace of oure Lorde Iesu Christe be with you.

¹¹ leaste Sathan shoulde preuente vs. For thys thoughtes are not vnknowen vnto vs.

⁴ in whome the God of thys worlde hath blynded the myndes of them which beleue not, leste the lyght of the gloryous gospell of Christe which is the ymage of God shoulde shyne vnto them.

³ But I feare leste as the serpente begyled Eue thorowe hys suttelty, euen so youre wyttes shoulde be corrupte from the synglenes that is in Christe.

¹⁴ And no maruail for Satan hym selfe is chaunged into the fashyon of an angell of lyghte.

¹⁴ That we henceforth be no more chyldren, waueringe and caryed wyth euerye wynde of doctryne, by the wylynes of men and craftynes, wherby they laye awayte for vs to deceyue vs.

³ Let no man deceyue you by any meanes, for the Lord commeth not, except there come a departyng first, and that, that sinful man be opened, the sonne of perdicyon

⁹ euen hym whose commynge is by the workynge of Sathan, with all liynge power, signes and wonders: ¹⁰ and in all deceyuablenes of vnryghtuousnes, amonge them that peryshe: because they receyued not the loue of the truethe, that they myght haue bene sayed. ¹¹ And therfore God shall sende them stronge delusyon, that they shoulde beleue lyes:

¹⁴ Also Adam was not deceyued, but the woman was deceyued, and was in a transgressyon.

⁶ He maye not be a yong scholer, lest he swell and fall into the iudgement of the euyll speaker. ⁷ He muste also be well reported of amonge them whiche are wythout forth, lest he fall into rebuke and snare of the euyll speaker.

¹³ But the euyll man and disceyuers shal waxe worsse & worsse whyle they deceyue, and are deceyued them selues.

¹⁴ For as muche then as the children were partetakers of fleshe and bloude, he also him selfe lyke wyse toke part wyth them, for to put doune thorowe death, that is to saye the deuyll,

⁸ He that committeth sinne, is of the deuil, for the deuil sinneth sence the beginninge. For this purpose appered the sonne of God to lowse the workes of the deuil. ⁹ Whosoeuer is borne of God, sinneth not, for hys seed remaineth in him, and he can not sinne, because he is borne of God. ¹⁰ In this are the chyldren of God knowen, and the chyldren of the deuil. Whosoeuer doth not rightuousnes, is not of God, neyther he that loueth not his brother.

¹⁹ We knowe that we are of God, and that the world is altogether set on wyckednes.

⁹ I knowe thy workes and tribulacion and pouertye, but thou art rych: And I know the blasphemy of them, whiche call them selues Iewes and are not, but are the congregacion of Sathan.

¹³ I know thy workes, and where thou dwellest euen where Sathans seate is, and thou kepest my name, and hast not denyed my fayth. And in my dayes, Antypas was a faithful wytnes of myne whych was slaine among you, where Sathan dwelleth.

²⁴ Vnto you I say, and vnto eyther of them of Thiatyra, as manye as haue not knowen this learning, and whiche haue not knowen the depnes of Sathan (as they say) I wyl put vpon you none other burthen,

⁹ Behold I make them of the congregacion of Sathan, which cal them selues Iewes and are not, but do lye: Beholde: I wyl make them that they shal come and worshyppe before thy fete, and shal knowe that I loue the.

¹ And the fyfte Angel blewe, and I sawe a starre fall from heauen vnto the earth, And to hym was geuen the keye of the bottomlesse pyt.

²⁰ And the remnaunt of the men which were not kylled by these plages, repented not of the dedes of their handes, that they should not worship deuyls, and Images of gold, and syluer, and brasse, and stone, and of wood, whych neyther can se, neyther heare, neyther go.

⁷ And there was great battayle in heauen, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angells,

¹⁴ And to the woman were geuen two winges of a greate egle, that she might flye into the wildernes, into her place, where she is noryshed for a tyme, tymes, & halfe a time from the presence of the serpente. ¹⁵ And the dragon cast out of his mouth water after the woman as it had bene a riuer, because she should haue be caught of the floud.

¹⁴ And deceiued them that dwelt on the earth by the meanes of those sygnes, which he had power to do in the syght of the beaste, saying to them that dwelt on the earth, that they should make an ymage vnto the beaste, whyche had the wounde of a swearde, and dyd lyue.

¹⁴ For they are the spirites of deuils working miracles to go out vnto the kinges of the earth, & to the whole worlde to gather them to the batayle of the greate daye of God almighty.

² And he cryed mightely with a strong voyce, saing: Great Babylon is fallen, is fallen: and is become the habitacion of deuilles, and the holde of al foule spyrytes, and a cage of al vncleane and hateful byrdes,

²³ and the voice of the brydegrome and of the bryde, shalbe hard no more in the, for thy marchauntes were the greate men of the earth. And wt thyne inchauntment were deceiued al nacions,

²⁰ And the beast was taken, & with hym that false prophete that wrought miracles before him with which he deceyued them that receiued the beastes marke, & them that worshipped his Image These both were cast into a ponde of fyre burnyng with brimstone:

² And he toke the dragon that olde serpent which is the deuyl and Satanas, & he bound him a thousand yeares: ³ and cast him into the botomles pyt, and he bounde hym, and set a seale on him, that he shuld deceyue the people nomore, tyl the thousand yeares were fulfilled. And after that he must be loused for a lytle season.

⁸ & shal go out to deceiue the people which are in the four quarters of the earthe Gog & Magog, to gether them together to battayle, whose nomber is as the sande of the sea,

¹⁰ & the deuyll that deceyued them, was caste into a lake of fyre and brymstone, where the beast and the false Prophet were & shalbe tormented daye and nyghte for euermore.

¹¹ Thyne (O Lorde) is greatenesse, power glorye, vyctorye and prayse: for all that is in heauen and in earthe is thyne, and thyne is the kyngedome (O Lorde) and thou arte lyfte vp an head aboue all.

⁹ Sathan answered, & sayde vnto the Lord: Doeth Iob feare God for nought?

¹¹ But laye thyne hande vpon him a lytle, touche ones all that he hath, and (I holde) he shall curse the to thy face.

⁵ But laye thyne hande vpon him, touche hym ones vpon the bone and fleshe, and (I holde) he shall curse the to thy face.

⁸ Desyre of me, and I shall geue the Heathen for thyne enherytaunce. Yea the vttermost partes of the worlde for thy possessyon. ⁹ Thou shalt rule them wyth a rodde of yron, and breake them in peces lyke an earthen vessell. ¹⁰ Be wyse nowe therfore, O ye Kinges, be warned, ye that are iudges of the earthe. ¹¹ Serue the Lorde wyth feare, and reioyse before hym wyth reuerence. ¹² Kysse the sonne, lest the Lorde be angrye and so ye peryshe from the ryght way. For his wrath shalbe kindled shortly: blessed are all they that put their trust in hym.

²⁸ For the kyngdom is the Lordes, & he shal be the gouernour of the Heythen.

⁶ Thy seate (O God) endureth for euer: the scepter of thy kyngdome is a right scepter.

⁵ The Lorde vpon thy ryghte hande, shall smyte euen kinges in the daye of hys wrath. ⁶ He shall be iudge amonge the Heathen, he shall fyl them wyth deade bodyes, and smite in sunder the heades ouer diuerse countres.

¹¹ They shew the glory of the kyngdome, & talke of thy power. ¹² That thy power, thy glory & mightinesse of thy kyngedome myghte be knowen vnto men. ¹³ Thy kyngdome is an euerlastyng kyngedome, and thy dominion endureth thorowe out all ages.

⁴⁴ In the dayes of these kinges shall the God of heauen set vp an euerlastynge kyngdome whiche shall not peryshe, and hys kyngdome shall not be geuen ouer to another people: yea the same shal breake and destroy al these kingdomes, but it shall endure foreuer.

¹⁰ Let thy kingdome come. Thy wyll be fulfylled, as well in earth, as it is in heauen.

⁶⁴ Iesus sayd to him thou hast sayed. Neuertheles I say vnto you, hereafter shall ye se the sonne of men sittynge on the ryght hand of power, and come in the cloudes of the skye.

¹⁸ And Iesus came and spake vnto them saiynge: all power is geuen vnto me in heauen and in earth.

² And he sayde vnto them: When ye pray saye: O oure father whiche arte in heauen, halowed be thy name. Thy kyngedome come. They will be fulfylled euen in earthe as it is in heauen.

⁴ in the name of oure Lord Iesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, in my spyryte, wyth the power of the Lorde Iesus Christe,

⁹ And he sayde vnto me: my grace is suffycyent for the. For my strengthe is made perfecte thorowe weakenes. Very gladly therfor wil I reioyce of my weakenes, that the strength of Christe maye dwell in me

³ And the elder women lykewyse, that they be in such rayment as becommeth holynes, not false accusars, not geuen to muche drynkynge, but teachers of honest thinges

²⁶ and whosoeuer ouercommeth and kepeth my workes vnto the ende, to hym wyl I geue power ouer nacions,

¹⁰ and cried with a loude voyce, saying: saluacion be ascribed to him that sitteth vpon the seate of our God, and vnto the lamb.

¹⁵ And the seuenth angell blewe, and there were made greate voyces in heauen, sayinge: the kyngdomes of thys worlde are oure Lordes and hys Christes, & he shall raygne for euer more.

¹ And after that, I heard the voice of much people in heauen saying Alleluia. Saluacion and glory and honoure, & power be ascribed to the Lorde oure God, ² for true and ryghteous are his iudgementes, for he hath iudged that great whore, whiche dyd corrupte the earth with her fornicacion, & hath auenged the bloude of his seruauntes of her hand. ³ And again they said: Alleluia. And smoke rose vp for euermore. ⁴ And the .xxiij. elders, & the .iiij. beastes fel doune, & worshipped God that sate on the seat sayinge: Amen Alleluia. ⁵ And a voice came out of the seate, saying: prayse our Lord God all ye that are his seruauntes, and ye that feare him both smalle and great. ⁶ And I heard the voice of much people, euen as the voice of many waters & as the voice of strong thondringes, saying: Alleluia, for God omnipotent reigneth. ⁷ Let vs be glad & reioyse & geue honour to him, for the mariage of the lambe is come, and hys wyfe made her selfe readye.

²⁶ If a man come to me, and hate not hys father and mother, and wyfe, and chyldren and brethren & systers, moreouer and hys owne lyfe, he can not be my disciple.

³³ These wordes haue I spoken vnto you, that in me you myght haue peace. For in the worlde shall you haue tribulacyon: but be of good cheare. I haue ouercome the worlde.

²⁴ But none of these thinges moue me: neyther is my lyfe dere vnto my selfe: that I myght fulfyl my course with ioye, and the ministracyon whiche I haue receyued of the Lord Iesus, to testifye the gospell of the grace of God.

¹³ Then Paul aunswered and sayd: what do ye wepynge and breakyng myne hert? I am ready not to be bound onelye: but also to dye at Hierusalem for the name of the Lorde Iesus.

⁵⁷ But thankes be vnto God, which hath geuen vs victory, thorowe our Lorde Iesus Christ.

³ Neuerthelesse thoughe we walke compassed wt the fleshe, yet we ware not fleshly. ⁴ For the weapens of oure warre are not carnal thynges, but thynges myghtye in God to caste doune stronge holdes, ⁵ wherewith we ouerthrowe Imaginations and euerye hye thynge that exalteth it selfe agaynste the knoweledge of God, and brynge into captiuite all vnderstandynge to the obedience of Christe,

¹³ For thys cause take vnto you the armoure of God, that ye maye be able to resiste in the euyl daye, and stande perfect in al thinges. ¹⁴ Stande therfore, and your loynes gyrde about wyth veritie, hauinge on the breste plate of rightuousnes, ¹⁵ and shoed with shoes prepared by the Gospel of peace. ¹⁶ Aboue all take to you the shelde of fayth, wherwith ye maye quench all the fyrie dartes of the wycked. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of saluacion and the swerd of the spyrite, which is the word of God. ¹⁸ And praye all wayes wyth all maner prayer and supplicacion: and that in the spirite, and watch therunto with all instaunce and supplication for all sainctes,

⁷ I haue fought a good fyght, and haue fulfylled my course, and haue kepte the fayth. ⁸ From henceforth is layde vp for me a croune of ryghtuousnes which the Lorde that is a ryghtuous iudge shall geue me at that daye: not to me only, but vnto all them that loue hys comynge.

¹⁴ For as muche then as the children were partetakers of fleshe and bloude, he also him selfe lyke wyse toke part wyth them, for to put doune thorowe death, that is to saye the deuyll, ¹⁵ and that he mighte delyuer them, which thorowe feare of death weare all theyr lyfe tyme in daunger of boundage.

³⁵ And the women receyued theyr dead raysed to lyfe agayne. Other were racked, and woulde not be delyuered, that they myghte receyue a better resurreccyon. ³⁶ Other tasted of mockynges and scourgynges, moreouer of bondes and prysonmente, ³⁷ were stoned, were hewen a sounder, were tempted, were slayne wyth swerdes, walked vp and doune in shepes skynnes, in gotes skynnes, in nede, trybulacyon, and vexacyon, ³⁸ whiche the world was not worthy of, they wandred in wyldernes, in mountaines, in dennes and caues of the earth

¹³ I wryte vnto you fathers, how that ye know him, that was from the beginninge. I wryte vnto you yong men, how that ye haue ouercome the wicked. I write to you lytel children, howe that ye knowe the father, ¹⁴ I wryte vnto you fathers, how that ye knowe him, that was from the beginninge. I wryte vnto you young men, how that ye are stronge and the word of God abyeth in you, & ye haue ouercome that wycked.

⁴ Lytel chyldren, ye are of God, and haue ouercome them, for greater is he that is in you, then he that is in the world.

⁵ Who is it that ouercommeth the worlde, but he which beleueth, that Iesus is the sonne of God?

² whiche bare recorde of the word of God, and of the testimonye of Iesus Christe, and of all thynges that he sawe.

⁹ I Iohn your brother and companyon in trybulacyon, and in the kyngdome and pacyence whiche is in Iesu Christe, was in the yle of Pathmos for the worde of God, and for the wytnessynge of Iesu Christ

⁷ Let him that hath eares heare, what the spirite sayeth vnto the congregacions. To him that ouercommeth, wyl I geue to eate of the tree of lyfe, whyche is in the middes of the Paradyse of God.

¹⁰ Feare none of those thynges, which thou shalt suffre. Behold, the deuil shal caste of you into pryson, to tempte you, and ye shal haue tribulacion .x. dayes. Be faythful vnto the death, & I wyl geue the a croune of life. ¹¹ Let him that hath eares, heare what the spyryte sayth to the congregacyons. He that ouercommeth, shall not be hurte of the second death.

¹⁷ Let him that hath eares, heare what the spyryte sayeth vnto the congregacyons. To hym that ouercommeth will I geue to eate Manna, that is hyd and wyll geue hym a whyte stone, and in the stone a new name wrytten, whiche no man knoweth sauynge he that receiueth it.

⁵ He that ouercommeth, shalbe clothed in whyte araye, and I wyll not put out hys name out of the boke of lyfe, and I wyll confesse his name before my father, and before his angels.

¹² Hym that ouercommeth, wyl I make a pyller in the temple of my God, and he shal go no more out. And I wyl wryte vpon him, the name of my God, and the name of the cytye of my God, newe Ierusalem, which commeth doune out of heauen from my God, & I wyl wryte vpon him my newe name.

²¹ To hym that ouercommeth, wyl I graunt to sit with me in my seate euen as I ouercame and haue sitten wyth my father, in his seate.

⁹ And when he opened the fyft seale, I saw vnder the aulter, the soules of them that were kylled for the word of God, & for the testymonye, whych they had,

¹⁰ and cried with a loude voyce, saying: saluacion be ascribed to him that sitteth vpon the seate of our God, and vnto the lamb. ¹¹ And all the Angelles stode in the compasse of the seate, and of the elders, and of the .iiij. beastes, and fell before the seate on theyr faces, & worshipped God ¹² saying, Amen: Blessing and glory, wisdome, and thankes, and honoure, and power & mighte, be vnto our God for euermore: Amen. ¹³ And one of the elders aunswered, saying vnto me: what are these, which are arayed in longe whyte garmentes, and whence came they? ¹⁴ And I sayd vnto hym: Lorde thou wotest. And he said vnto me: these are they which came out of great tribulacion, and made their garmentes large and made them white, in the bloude of the lambe,

⁷ And when they haue fynished theyr testymonye, the beast that came out of the bottomlesse pyt, shal make warre agaynst them, and shal ouercome them, and kyl them.

¹⁷ And the dragon was wroth wyth the woman, and went and made warre wyth the remnaunt of her seede, whiche kepe the commaundementes of God, and haue the testimonye of Iesus Christe. And I stode on the sea sande.

¹ And I loked, and lo a lamb stode on the mounte Syon, and wyth him an hundred & .xliiij. thousand hauyng hys fathers name wrytten in theyr forheades. ² And I hearde a voice from heauen, as the sounde of manye waters, and as the voice of a greate thunder. And I hearde the voyce of harpers harping with their harpes. ³ And they songe as it were a newe songe, before the seate, & before the foure beastes, & the elders, & no man coulde learne the songe, but the hundred and .xliiij.M. which were redemed from the earth. ⁴ These are they, whiche were not defyled wt women for they are virgins. These folowe the lamb whether so euer goeth. These were redemed from men being the fyrst frutes vnto God & to the lamb,

² And I sawe as it were a glassy sea, mingled wt fyre, & them that had gotten victory of the beast and of his ymage, and of his marke, & of the numbre of his name, stande on the glassye sea, hauinge the harpes of God, ³ and they songe the songe of Moises the seruaunt of God, & they songe of the lamb, sayinge: Great & maruelous are thy workes Lorde God almighty, iuste & true are thy wayes kynge of sainctes.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feete, to worshippe him. And he sayed vnto me, se thou do it not. For I am thy felowe seruaunt, & one of thy brethren, & of them that haue the testimony of Iesus. Worshippe God. For the testimony of Iesus is the spirit of prophesye.

⁴ And I saw seates and they sate vpon them and iudgement was geuen vnto them: & I saw the soules of them that were beheaded for the wytnes of Iesu, & for the worde of God, which had not worshypped the beast, nether his Image, nether had taken hys marke vpon theyr forheades, or on theyr handes: and they lyued, and reygned with Christ a thousande yere:

¹¹ Let the heauens reioyse, and let the earth be glad: let the sea make a noyse, yea, and all that therin is. ¹² Let the felde be ioyfull and all that is in it, lette all the trees of the woode leape for ioye. ¹³ Before the lorde, for he commeth: for he commeth to iudge the earth: yea, with ryghteousnesse shall he iudge the worlde, and the people with his trueth.

¹ Prayse the euerlastyng. O prayse the Lorde of heauen, prayse hym in the heygth. ² Prayse hym all ye aungels of hys, prayse hym all hys hoost. ³ Prayse hym Sunne and Moone, prayse hym all ye starres and light. ⁴ Prayse hym all ye heauens, and ye waters that be vnder the heauens.

²³ Be glad ye heauens, whom the Lorde hath made, let al that is here beneth vpon the earth, be ioyfull. Reioyse ye mountaynes & woddes, with all the trees that are in you: for the Lord shall redeme Iacob, & shewe his glory vpon Israel.

¹³ Reioyse ye heauens, and synge prayses thou earthe: Talke of ioye ye hylles, for God wyll comforte hys people, and haue mercye vpon hys, that be in trouble.

¹² And so shall ye go forth with ioye, & be led with peace. The mountaynes & hilles shal sing with you for ioye, and all the trees of the feld shall clappe theyr handes. ¹³ For thornes, there shall growe. Fyrre trees, & the Myrre tre in the steade of breres. And thys shall be done to the prayse of the Lorde, and for an euerlasting token, that shall not be taken awaye.

¹⁴ Glory to God on hye, and peace on the earth: and vnto men reioysynge.

¹⁰ Lykewyse I saye vnto you ioye is made in the presence of the Angels of God ouer one synner that repenteth.

³⁷ For yet a very lyttel whyle, and he that shall come wyll come, and wyll not tarye.

⁸ Dearly beloued, be not ignoraunt of thys one thinge, howe that one daye is wyth the Lorde, as a thousande yeare, and a thousande yeare as one daye.

¹³ And I behelde and hearde an angell fliynge thorowe the middes of heauen, sayinge wyth a loude voyce: Wo, wo, to the inhabiters of the earth, because of the voyces to come of the trompe of the .iij. angels, whyche were yet to blowe.

¹² One wo is paste, and behold two woes come after thys.

⁶ and swore by hym that lyueth for euer more, whiche created heauen, and the thynges that therin are, and the sea, and the thynges whyche therin are: that there shoulde be no longer tyme,

¹⁰ And they that dwell vpon the earth, shall reioyse ouer them and be glad, and shal sende gyftes one to another for these two prophetes vexed them that dwelt on the earth.

¹⁴ The seconde wo is past, and beholde the thyrde wo wyll come anone.

²⁰ Reioice ouer her thou heauen, and ye holy Apostles, & prophetes: for God hath geuen your iudgemente on her.

¹⁵ Moreouer, I wyll put hatred betwene the & the woman, & betwene thy seed and her seed. And that seed shall tread the on thy heed, and thou shalt treade it on the hele.

¹² The vngodly layeth wayte for the iust, & gnassheth vpon him with his tethe. ¹³ But the Lord laugheth him to scorne, for he seyth that his daye is commyng. ¹⁴ The vngodly drawe oute the swerde & bende their bowe, to caste doune the simple and poore, and to slaye suche as go the right waye.

³ And there appered another wonder in heauen, for behold a great Dragon, hauinge .vij. heades, and ten hornes & crounes vpon his heades, ⁴ and hys tayle drewe the thyrde parte of the starres, and cast them to the earth. And the dragon stode before the woman, whyche was redye to be delyuered, for to deuoure her chyld assone as it were borne. ⁵ And she brought furth a man chyld, which should rule al nacyons wyth a rod of Iron. And her sonne was taken vp vnto God, and to hys seate.

⁴ ye haue sene what I dyd vnto the Egipcians & how I toke you vp vpon Egles wynges, & haue brought you vnto my self.

¹¹ As an Egle that steareth vp hir nest & flotereth ouer the yonge, he streatched out hys wynges & toke him vp, & bare him on his shoulders. ¹² The Lorde alone was hys guide and there was no straunge God with hym.

⁶ And I sayde: O that I had wynges lyke a doue, that I might fle somwhere, and be at rest.

³¹ But vnto them that haue the Lorde before their eyes, shal strength be encreased, Aegles wynges shall growe vpon them: When they runne they shall not fal: and when they go, they shal not be weery.

²⁵ He shall subdue thre Kynges, and shal speake wordes against the hyest of all: he shall destroy the saintes of the most hyest, and thincke, that he may chaunge tymes and lawes. They shalbe geuen vnder his power, vntill a time, two tymes, and half a tyme.

⁷ Then hearde I the man with the lynen clothes, whiche stode aboue vpon the waters of the floude: when he helde vp his right and lefte hande vnto heauen, and sware, by hym whyche liueth for euer: that it shall tary for a tyme, two tymes and halfe a tyme: & when the power of the holy people is cleane scatred abroade, then shal al these thinges be fulfilled.

⁶ And the woman fled into wyldernes, where she had a place prepared of God, that they should feede her there a thousand .ij. hundred and .lx. dayes.

³ And he caryed me awaye into the wildernes in the spirite. And I saw a woman sit vpon a rose colored beaste ful of names of blasphemye, which had .x. hornes.

⁴ The sorowes of deathe compassed me, and the brokes of vngodlynes made me afrayed.

⁷ Which stilleth the ragynge of the sea, the roarynge of his waues, and the woodnes of the people.

³ The floudes aryse (O Lorde) the floudes lyft vp their noyse, the floudes lyfte vp theyr waues. ⁴ The waues of the sea are mightye, & rage horribly: but yet the Lorde that dwelled on hye, is mightier.

⁷ Beholde, the Lorde shall brynge mightye and greate floudes of water vpon them: namely the kinge of the Assirians with all his power. Whyche shall poure oute his furiousnesse vpon euery man, and runne ouer all their banckes.

² Beholde, the strength and power of the Lord shall breake into the lande on euerye syde, like a tempest of hayle, that beareth doune strong holdes, and lyke an horryble, myghty & ouerflowynge water.

¹⁹ where thorowe the name of the Lorde might be feared, from the rysynge of the Sunne: and his magesty, vnto the goinge doune of the same. For he shall come as a vyolente waterstreame, whyche the winde of the Lorde hath moued.

¹⁵ And he sayde vnto me, the waters whyche thou saweste, where the whore sitteth are people, and folke, and nacions & tounges.

³⁵ And the chyldren of Israel dyd accordyng to the saying of Moses: and they borowed of the Egypcyans yewels of siluer, and yewels of gold, and rayment. ³⁶ And the Lorde gat the people fauour in the syghte of the Egypcians: and so they borowed & robbed the Egypcyans.

⁶ And the rauens brought hym breade and fleshe euery mornyng and euery euenynge, and he drancke of the broke.

⁹ And Hazael went to mete hym, & toke presentes wyth hym, euen of al the good thinges of Damasco, as muche as fourtye Cameles coulde beare, and came and presented himselfe before hym and sayde: thy sonne Benhadad Kynge of Syrya hath sent me to the, sayinge: shall I recouer of thys my dysease.

²³ He gaue me this answere: That fourthe beast shalbe the fourth kingedome vpon earth: it shalbe more then all other kingedomes, it shall deuoure, treade doune, and destroye all other landes. ²⁴ The ten hornes are ten kinges, that shall aryse out of the kingedom, after whom there shall stande vp another, whiche shalbe greater then the fyrste. ²⁵ He shall subdue thre Kynges, and shal speake wordes against the hyest of all: he shall destroy the saintes of the most hyest, and thincke, that he may chaunge tymes and lawes. They shalbe geuen vnder his power, vntill a time, two tymes, and half a tyme. ²⁶ But the iudgemente shalbe kepte, so that his power shalbe taken from him, for he shall be destroyed, and perishe at the laste.

³⁶ The kinge shal do what him lyst, he shal exalte and magnifye him selfe agaynste all, that is God. Yea he shall speake maruelous thinges against the God of al goddes, wherin he shall prospere, so longe till the wrathe be fulfilled, for the conclusyon is deuysed alredy.

²⁰ Teachyng then to obserue all thynges whatsoeuer I commaunded you, And lo I am with you alwaye, euen vntyll the ende of the worlde.

¹ And I brethren when I came to you, came not in gloriousnes of wordes, or of wysdome, shewynge vnto you the testimonye of God.

³ And herby we are sure that we knowe him, yf we kepe his commaundementes.

² In thys we know, that we loue the children of God, when we loue God and kepe his commaundementes.

¹⁰ He that beleueth on the sonne of God, hath the wytnes in him selfe. He that beleued not God, hath made hym a lyar, because he beleued not the recorde, that God gaue of hys sonne.

¹¹ And they ouercame hym by the bloude of the lambe, and by the worde of theyr testimony, and they loued not theyr liues vnto the death. ¹² Therfore reioyse heauens, and ye that dwell in them, Wo to the inhabiters of the earth, & of the sea, for the deuyll is come doune vnto you, which hath great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a shorte tyme.

¹² Here is the pacience of saynctes. Here are they that kepe the commaundementes & the fayth of Iesu.

⁶ And I saw the wyfe drounken with the bloude of Saynctes, and with the bloud of the wytnesses of Iesu. And when I saw her, I wondred wyth great maruayle.

¹⁴ These shal fyght wt the lamb, & the lamb shal ouercome them. For he is Lorde of Lordes, & kinge of kinges, & they that are on his syde, are called the chosen and faithful.

¹⁹ And I sawe the beast and the kynges of the earth, & theyr warriers gathered together to make battayl against him that sat on the horse & agaynst hys souldyers.

⁸ & shal go out to deceiue the people which are in the four quarters of the earthe Gog & Magog, to gether them together to battayle, whose nomber is as the sande of the sea, ⁹ & they went vpon the playne of the earth, & compassed the tentes of the saynctes about & the beloued cytye. And fyre came doune from God, out of heauen, & deuoured them:

¹⁴ Blessed are they that do his commaundementes that theyr power maye be in the tree of lyfe, & maye enter in thorowe the gates into the cite.
