¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, according to the promise of the life which is in Christ Jesus, ² to Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. ³ I thank God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience. How unceasing is my memory of you in my petitions, night and day ⁴ longing to see you, remembering your tears, that I may be filled with joy; ⁵ having been reminded of the unfeigned faith that is in you; which lived first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and, I am persuaded, in you also. ⁶ For this cause, I remind you that you should stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. ⁷ For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and of a sound mind. ⁸ Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship for the Good News according to the power of God, ⁹ who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, ¹⁰ but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the Good News. ¹¹ For this, I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher. ¹² For this cause I also suffer these things. Yet I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him against that day. ¹³ Hold the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁴ That good thing which was committed to you, guard through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. ¹⁵ This you know, that all who are in Asia turned away from me; of whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. ¹⁶ May the Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain, ¹⁷ but when he was in Rome, he sought me diligently, and found me ¹⁸ (the Lord grant to him to find the Lord's mercy in that day); and in how many things he served at Ephesus, you know very well.

²⁴ "Truly, truly, I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has everlasting life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

³⁹ You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have everlasting life; and these are they which testify about me. ⁴⁰ But you are unwilling to come to me so that you may have life.

⁴⁰ This is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

⁵⁴ He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

²⁸ I give everlasting life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

³ This is everlasting life, that they may know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.

²⁰ For however many are the promises of God, in him they are "Yes." Therefore also through him they are "Amen," to the glory of God through us.

⁶ that the non-Jews are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News,

¹⁹ laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of that which is truly life.

² in hope of everlasting life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began;

¹⁵ For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the everlasting inheritance.

³ seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue; ⁴ by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.

²⁵ This is the promise which he promised us, the everlasting life.

¹¹ The testimony is this, that God gave to us everlasting life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He who has the Son has the life. He who does not have God's Son does not have the life. ¹³ These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life.

¹ He came also to Derbe and Lystra. And look, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who believed; but his father was a Greek.

⁷ to all who are in Rome, loved by God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for the wrath. For it is written, "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord."

¹ Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, so stand firm in the Lord, my beloved.

¹⁶ This being so, I also do my best to always have a clear conscience toward God and people.

⁴ "Indeed, all Jews know my way of life from my youth up, which was from the beginning among my own nation and at Jerusalem;

²³ For there stood by me this night an angel, belonging to the God whose I am and whom I serve,

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world. ⁹ For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how I constantly mention you

¹ I tell the truth in Christ. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit,

¹² For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that with pure motives and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

¹⁴ I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my countrymen, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

¹⁶ do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,

² We always give thanks to God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers, ³ remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labor of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father.

¹⁰ night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face, and may perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

⁵ but the goal of this command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and unfeigned faith;

¹⁹ holding faith and a good conscience; which some having thrust away made a shipwreck concerning the faith;

⁵ having been reminded of the unfeigned faith that is in you; which lived first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and, I am persuaded, in you also.

¹⁵ From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.

⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

⁵ Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.

³ to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.

¹³ "Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

²² Therefore you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.

²⁴ Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.

¹⁹ serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears, and with trials which happened to me by the plots of the Jews;

³¹ Therefore watch, remembering that for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish everyone night and day with tears.

³⁷ They all wept a lot, and fell on Paul's neck and kissed him, ³⁸ sorrowing most of all because of the word which he had spoken, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.

¹¹ For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you;

³⁰ Now I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, ³¹ that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in Judea, and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints; ³² that I may come to you in joy through the will of God, and together with you, find rest.

⁸ For God is my witness, how I long after all of you in the tender mercies of Christ Jesus.

²⁶ since he longed for you all, and was very troubled, because you had heard that he was sick.

¹⁷ But we, brothers, being bereaved of you for a short season, in presence, not in heart, tried even harder to see your face with great desire,

⁹ Be diligent to come to me soon,

²¹ Be diligent to come before winter. Eubulus salutes you, as do Pudens, Linus, Claudia, and all the brothers.

⁴ And we write these things, that our joy may be fulfilled.

¹⁷ for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shepherds them, and leads them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

⁴ And he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, nor will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the first things have passed away."

¹⁴ I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself; except that to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

¹⁴ I myself am also persuaded about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others.

⁶ in pureness, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love,

⁶ If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed.

¹² For this cause I also suffer these things. Yet I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him against that day.

⁹ But, beloved, we are persuaded of better things for you, and things that accompany salvation, even though we speak like this.

¹³ These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and embraced them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were strangers and temporary residents on the earth.

²² Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from a pure heart fervently:

²⁶ All the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom spun the goats' hair.

² Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab, and every wise-hearted man, in whose heart God had put wisdom, even everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to the work to do it:

²⁶ Put me in remembrance. Let us plead together. Set forth your case, that you may be justified.

¹⁵ To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. ¹³ He called ten servants of his, and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, 'Conduct business until I come.'

¹⁷ Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money,

⁶ When Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke with other tongues and prophesied.

⁶ Having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, if prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; ⁷ or service, let us give ourselves to service; or he who teaches, to his teaching; ⁸ or he who exhorts, to his exhorting: he who gives, let him do it with liberality; he who rules, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

¹⁹ Do not quench the Spirit.

¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders.

¹⁴ Remind them of these things, charging them in the presence of God, not to wrangle about words, to no profit, to the subverting of those who hear.

² proclaim the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching.

² of the teaching of washings, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of everlasting judgment.

¹⁰ As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms. ¹¹ If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

¹² Therefore I will be ready always to remind you of these things, though you know them, and are established in the present truth.

¹ This is now, beloved, the second letter that I have written to you; and in both of them I stir up your sincere mind by reminding you;

⁵ Now I want to remind you, though you already know all these things, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

⁸⁰ Let my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be disappointed.

⁷ He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity;

¹⁴ Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.

⁸ But as for me, I am full of power by the Spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his disobedience, and to Israel his sin.

⁶ Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, "This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel, saying, 'Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts.

³⁵ Then people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus' feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

¹⁹ Look, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will in any way hurt you.

¹⁷ But when he came to himself he said, 'How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough to spare, and I'm dying here with hunger.

⁴⁹ And look, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."

²⁷ Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

⁸ But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest part of the earth."

⁸ Stephen, full of grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.

²² But Saul increased more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.

³⁸ even Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

²⁴ But I make my life an account of nothing precious to myself, so that I may finish my race, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to fully testify to the Good News of the grace of God.

¹³ Then Paul answered, "What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus."

¹¹ Punishing them often in all the synagogues, I tried to make them blaspheme. Being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

²⁵ But he said, "I am not crazy, most excellent Festus, but boldly declare words of truth and reasonableness.

⁵ and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

¹⁵ For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, "Abba. Father."

⁴ My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

¹³ For if we are out of control, it is for God. If we are in a reasonable way, it is for you. ¹⁴ For the love of Christ constrains us; because we judge thus, that one died for all, therefore all died.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

⁸ who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.

¹⁵ and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

¹⁸ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.

⁷ The LORD's Law is perfect, restoring the soul. The LORD's testimony is sure, making wise the simple.

⁴⁶ I will also speak of your statutes before kings, and will not be disappointed.

²⁰ Turn to the law and to the testimony. If they do not speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.

⁷ "Listen to me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; do not fear the reproach of men, neither be dismayed at their insults.

³⁸ For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

²⁶ For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.

²⁷ And you will also testify, because you have been with me from the beginning.

³⁵ He who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, that you may believe.

⁴¹ They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.

¹⁶ For I am not ashamed of the Good News, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.

¹⁷ and if children, then heirs; heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him. ¹⁸ For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed to us.

³⁶ Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were regarded as sheep to be slaughtered."

³³ even as it is written, "Look, I am laying in Zion a stumbling stone and a rock to trip over; and the one who believes in him will not be put to shame."

²⁵ Now to him who is able to establish you according to my Good News and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret through long ages,

⁶ even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

⁹ For, I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last of all, like men sentenced to death. For we are made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and people. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have dishonor. ¹¹ Even to this present hour we hunger, thirst, are naked, are beaten, and have no certain dwelling place. ¹² We toil, working with our own hands. When people curse us, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure. ¹³ Being defamed, we entreat. We are made as the filth of the world, the dirt wiped off by all, even until now.

⁷ in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

²³ Are they servants of Christ? (I speak as one beside himself) I am more so; in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, in deaths often. ²⁴ Five times from the Jews I received forty stripes minus one. ²⁵ Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I suffered shipwreck. I have been a night and a day in the deep. ²⁶ I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from those who are not Jews, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers; ²⁷ in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.

⁹ He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness." Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. ¹⁰ Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong.

¹ For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you the non-Jews,

¹³ Therefore I ask that you not be discouraged because of my sufferings for you, which is your glory.

¹ I therefore, a prisoner in the Lord, urge you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called,

¹⁷ This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the nations also walk, in the futility of their mind,

⁷ It is even right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, because, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the Good News, you all are partakers with me of grace.

¹⁰ that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, becoming conformed to his death;

¹³ I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

¹¹ strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy;

²⁴ Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and I am completing in my flesh what is lacking in the sufferings of Christ for the sake of his body, which is the church;

⁴ For truly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know.

⁶ who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times;

¹⁶ May the Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain,

³ You therefore must share in hardship, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

⁹ in which I suffer hardship to the point of chains as a criminal. But God's word is not chained.

¹¹ This saying is faithful: "For if we died with him, we will also live with him. ¹² If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us.

⁵ But you be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the non-Jewish people might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

⁵ who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

¹³ But because you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy. ¹⁴ If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified. ¹⁵ For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or a meddler.

¹⁴ We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world.

¹¹ The testimony is this, that God gave to us everlasting life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He who has the Son has the life. He who does not have God's Son does not have the life.

²⁴ Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy,

² who testified to God's word, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, about everything that he saw.

⁹ I John, your brother and fellow-partner with you in persecution, Kingdom, and patient endurance in Jesus, was on the island that is called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

¹¹ They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony. They did not love their life, even to death.

¹⁰ I fell down before his feet to worship him. He said to me, "Look. Do not do it. I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God, for the testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy."

⁷ The LORD did not set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples: ⁸ but because the LORD loves you, and because he would keep the oath which he swore to your fathers, has the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

²⁶ This is the plan that is determined for the whole earth. This is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations. ²⁷ For the LORD of hosts has planned, and who can stop it? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?"

²¹ And she will bring forth a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."

²⁵ At that time, Jesus answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children. ²⁶ Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.

²¹ In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight."

³⁷ All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. Him who comes to me I will in no way throw out.

²⁸ I give everlasting life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.

⁹ I pray for them. I do not pray for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.

²⁴ Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory, which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

⁴⁷ praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

¹⁸ known from long ago.'

²⁰ Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. ²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. ³⁰ Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified. ³¹ What then are we to say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² He who did not spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? ³³ Who could bring a charge against God's chosen ones? It is God who justifies. ³⁴ Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and more than that, who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. ³⁵ Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? ³⁶ Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were regarded as sheep to be slaughtered." ³⁷ No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, ³⁹ nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

¹¹ For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him who calls,

²⁴ us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the non-Jews?

⁵ Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace.

¹⁸ For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

²¹ Therefore let no one boast about people. For all things are yours, ²² whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come. All are yours,

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ; ⁴ even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without blemish before him in love;

⁹ making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him

¹¹ in whom also we were assigned an inheritance, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his will;

⁵ even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

⁸ for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, ⁹ not of works, that no one would boast.

¹¹ according to the purpose of the ages which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord;

⁷ For God called us not for uncleanness, but in sanctification.

¹³ But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth; ¹⁴ to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and Christ Jesus our hope;

⁴ But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward humankind appeared, ⁵ not by works of righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy, he saved us, through the washing of rebirth and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

¹ Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus;

¹⁵ but just as he who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all of your behavior; ¹⁶ because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."

²⁰ who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake,

⁹ But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

²⁰ For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God. ²¹ For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,

⁸ All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the Book of Life of the Lamb who has been killed.

⁸ The beast that you saw was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss and is going to destruction. Those who dwell on the earth and whose names have not been written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world will marvel when they see that the beast was, and is not, but is to come.

⁷ He will destroy in this mountain the surface of the covering that covers all peoples, and the veil that is spread over all nations. ⁸ He has swallowed up death in victory. The Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces. He will take the reproach of his people away from off all the earth, for the LORD has spoken it.

³ For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I have given Egypt as your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.

¹⁵ Most certainly you are a God who hid yourself, God of Israel, the Savior.'"

²¹ Declare and bring it forth. Yes, let them take counsel together. Who announced this from long ago, has told it from then? Was it not I, the LORD? And there is no other God besides me, a just God and a Savior; there is no one besides me.

² For, look, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but the LORD will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you. ³ Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

¹⁴ I will ransom them from the power of Sheol. I will redeem them from death. Death, where is your victory? Sheol, where is your sting? "Compassion will be hidden from my eyes.

¹¹ For there is born to you, this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ, the Lord.

³¹ which you have prepared before the face of all peoples; ³² a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of your people Israel."

³⁶ If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light."

⁷ He said to the vine dresser, 'Look, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?'

⁹ The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

⁴² They said to the woman, "Now we believe, not because of your speaking; for we have heard for ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Savior of the world."

²⁴ "Truly, truly, I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has everlasting life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. ²⁵ Truly, truly, I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God's voice; and those who hear will live. ²⁶ For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself. ²⁷ He also gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. ²⁸ Do not be amazed at this, for the hour comes, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice, ²⁹ and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.

⁴⁰ But you are unwilling to come to me so that you may have life.

²⁵ Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will still live, even if he dies. ²⁶ And whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

³¹ but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

³¹ God exalted him with his right hand to be a Leader and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

²³ From this man's offspring, according to his promise, God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus,

⁷ to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality -- everlasting life.

³¹ Do we then nullify the law through faith? Absolutely not. No, we establish the law.

¹⁷ For if by the trespass of the one, death reigned through the one; so much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one, Jesus Christ. ¹⁸ So then as through one trespass, all people were condemned; even so through one act of righteousness, all people were justified to life.

⁶ knowing this, that our old self was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.

²⁶ but now is revealed, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, is made known for obedience of faith to all the nations;

⁵ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one will get his praise from God.

²⁶ The last enemy that will be abolished is death.

⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ But when this corruptible will have put on incorruption, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then what is written will happen: "Death is swallowed up in victory." ⁵⁵ "Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?"

⁴ For indeed we who are in this tent do groan, being burdened; not that we desire to be unclothed, but that we desire to be clothed, that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.

⁴ You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.

¹⁸ having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

²⁶ the mystery which has been hidden for ages and generations. But now it has been revealed to his saints, ²⁷ to them God was pleased to make known the glorious riches of this mystery among the non-Jews, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory;

⁸ Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, according to the promise of the life which is in Christ Jesus,

³ but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior; ⁴ to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

¹¹ For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people,

¹³ looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ;

⁴ But when the kindness of God our Savior and his love toward humankind appeared,

¹⁴ Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, ¹⁵ and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

³² But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings;

²⁰ who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake, ²¹ who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.

¹ Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us in the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

³ seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue;

¹¹ For thus you will be richly supplied with the entrance into the everlasting Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

²⁰ For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.

² that you should remember the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles:

¹⁸ But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and forever.

² (and the life was revealed, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the life, the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us);

⁷ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God.

¹ After these things, I saw another angel coming down out of the sky, having great authority. The earth was illuminated with his glory.

¹⁴ Death and hell were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

¹ He showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, ² in the middle of its street. On this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruits, yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

¹⁴ Blessed are they who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter in by the gates into the city.

¹⁷ The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." He who hears, let him say, "Come." He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely.

¹⁵ But the Lord said to him, "Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel.

⁷ of which I was made a servant, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power. ⁸ To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to proclaim to the non-Jews the unsearchable riches of Christ,

⁷ desiring to be teachers of the law, though they understand neither what they say, nor about what they strongly affirm.

⁷ to which I was appointed a proclaimer and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the non-Jews in faith and truth.

¹⁰ And those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.

² My God, I have trusted in you. Do not let me be shamed. Do not let my enemies triumph over me.

⁵ Into your hands I commit my spirit. You redeem me, LORD, God of truth.

⁹ Then my enemies shall turn back in the day that I call. I know this, that God is for me.

² Look, in the God of my salvation I will trust, and will not be afraid. For the LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."

⁷ For the LORD will help me; therefore I have not been confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be disappointed.

⁴ "Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame, nor will you be humiliated, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, and the disgrace of your widowhood you will remember no more.

⁷ The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him.

²² Many will tell me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did not we prophesy in your name, in your name cast out demons, and in your name do many mighty works?'

²¹ And in his name the coastlands will hope."

³⁶ But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but my Father only.

¹² I tell you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.

⁴⁶ And Jesus, crying with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." Having said this, he breathed his last.

³⁹ This is the will of him who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day. ⁴⁰ This is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes in him, should have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."

⁴⁴ No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

²⁸ I give everlasting life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. ³⁰ I and the Father are one."

¹¹ I am no more in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are. ¹² While I was with them, I kept them in your name which you have given me, and I guarded them, and not one of them perished, except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

¹⁵ I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.

⁵⁹ They stoned Stephen as he called out, saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

¹⁶ For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name's sake."

⁴⁶ Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said, "It was necessary that God's word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from you, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, look, we turn to the non-Jewish people.

⁵⁰ But the Jews stirred up the devout women of prominence and the chief men of the city, and stirred up a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and threw them out of their borders.

⁵ When some of both the non-Jewish people and the Jews, with their rulers, made a violent attempt to mistreat and stone them, ⁶ they became aware of it, and fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, Derbe, and the surrounding region.

²⁷ When the seven days were almost completed, the Jews from Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the crowd and laid hands on him, ²⁸ crying out, "Men of Israel, help. This is the man who teaches all men everywhere against the people, and the Law, and this place. Moreover, he also brought Greeks into the temple, and has defiled this holy place." ²⁹ For they had previously seen Trophimus, the Ephesian, with him in the city, and they supposed that Paul had brought him into the temple. ³⁰ All the city was moved, and the people ran together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple. Immediately the doors were shut. ³¹ As they were trying to kill him, news came up to the commanding officer of the regiment that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

²¹ "He said to me, 'Depart, for I will send you out far from here to non-Jewish people.'" ²² They listened to him until he said that; then they lifted up their voice, and said, "Rid the earth of this fellow, for he is not fit to live." ²³ As they yelled, and threw off their cloaks, and threw dust into the air, ²⁴ the commanding officer commanded him to be brought into the barracks, ordering him to be examined by scourging, that he might know for what crime they yelled at him like that.

⁴ and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope: ⁵ and hope does not disappoint us, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

¹² Again, Isaiah says, "There will be the root of Jesse, he who arises to rule over the peoples; in him will the nations hope." ¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹³ each man's work will be revealed. For the Day will declare it, because it is revealed in fire; and the fire itself will test what sort of work each man's work is.

¹² to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ: ¹³ in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation,—in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

¹ For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you the non-Jews, ² if it is so that you have heard of the administration of that grace of God which was given me toward you; ³ how that by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I wrote before in few words, ⁴ by which, when you read, you can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ; ⁵ which in other generations was not made known to people, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; ⁶ that the non-Jews are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News,

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.

⁸ More than that, I count all things to be a loss compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord, for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and count them nothing but refuse, that I may gain Christ

²¹ who will transform our lowly body into the likeness of his glorious body, according to the power by which he is able even to subject all things to himself.

¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to those who are not Jewish that they may be saved; to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

⁴ But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.

²⁰ Timothy, guard that which is committed to you, turning away from the empty chatter and oppositions of the knowledge which is falsely so called;

⁸ Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship for the Good News according to the power of God,

¹⁸ (the Lord grant to him to find the Lord's mercy in that day); and in how many things he served at Ephesus, you know very well.

¹⁰ But you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness, ¹¹ persecutions, and sufferings: those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. Out of them all the Lord delivered me. ¹² Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

⁸ From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.

¹⁶ At my first defense, no one came to help me, but all left me. May it not be held against them. ¹⁷ But the Lord stood by me, and strengthened me, that through me the message might be fully proclaimed, and that all the non-Jewish people might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

¹⁸ For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

²⁵ Therefore he is also able to save completely those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them.

² looking to Jesus, the founder and completer of the faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

¹⁶ But if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this name.

¹⁹ Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her, and those who hold on to her are blessed

²¹ My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion:

⁴ He taught me, and said to me: "Let your heart retain my words. Keep my commandments, and live. ⁵ Get wisdom. Get understanding. Do not forget, neither swerve from the words of my mouth. ⁶ Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you. Love her, and she will keep you. ⁷ Wisdom is supreme. Get wisdom. Yes, though it costs all your possessions, get understanding. ⁸ Esteem her, and she will exalt you. She will bring you to honor, when you embrace her.

¹³ Take firm hold of instruction. Do not let her go. Keep her, for she is your life.

²³ Buy the truth, and do not sell it. Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.

²⁰ a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of children, having in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth.

¹⁷ But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were entrusted.

²⁷ Only let your manner of life be worthy of the Good News of Christ, that, whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your state, that you stand firm in one spirit, with one soul striving for the faith of the Good News;

⁹ And the things you learned and received and heard and saw in me, do these things. And the God of peace will be with you.

⁴ having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which you have toward all the saints,

²¹ but test all things; hold firmly that which is good.

¹⁰ for the sexually immoral, for men who have sexual relations with men, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to sound teaching;

¹⁴ The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

³ If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,

¹⁴ That good thing which was committed to you, guard through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

² The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful people, who will be able to teach others also.

¹⁴ But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.

⁹ holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.

¹ But say the things which fit sound doctrine,

⁸ and a sound message that cannot be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us.

⁶ but Christ is faithful as a Son over his house; whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope.

¹⁴ Having then a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession.

²³ let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.

³ Beloved, while I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I was constrained to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

²⁵ Nevertheless, hold that which you have firmly until I come.

³ Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you do not wake up, I will come as a thief, and you won't know what hour I will come to you.

¹¹ I am coming quickly. Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown.

¹¹ If therefore you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

¹⁷ the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive; because it neither sees him nor knows him; but you know him, for he lives with you, and will be in you.

² Much in every way. Because first of all, they were entrusted with the oracles of God.

⁹ But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.

¹¹ But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

¹³ For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

¹⁶ Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that God's Spirit lives in you?

¹⁹ Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own,

¹⁷ For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward. But if not of my own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.

¹⁶ Therefore we know no one after the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we no longer know him in this way.

¹⁹ namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

⁷ but to the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the Good News for the uncircumcision, even as Peter with the Good News for the circumcision

²² in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

¹⁸ Do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

¹¹ and Jesus who is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These are my only fellow workers for the Kingdom of God, and they have been a comfort to me.

¹¹ according to the Good News of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

⁶ When they had gone through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.

¹⁰ This continued for two years, so that all those who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

²⁷ Not only is there danger that this our trade come into disrepute; but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be counted as nothing, and that she should even be deposed from her magnificence, whom all Asia and the world worships."

³¹ And also some of the Asiarchs, who were his friends, sent to him and urged him not to venture into the theater.

¹⁶ For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hastening, if it were possible for him, to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

¹⁹ The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you much in the Lord, together with the church that is in their house.

²¹ For they all seek their own, not the things of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ for Demas left me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. ¹¹ Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.

¹⁶ At my first defense, no one came to help me, but all left me. May it not be held against them.

¹⁹ Remember to me, my God, for good, all that I have done for this people.

¹⁴ Remember me, my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for its observances.

²² I commanded the Levites that they should purify themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the Sabbath day. Remember to me, my God, this also, and spare me according to the greatness of your loving kindness.

³¹ and for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the first fruits. Remember me, my God, for good.

²⁵ With the faithful you show yourself faithful. With the innocent you show yourself innocent.

²⁶ All day long he deals graciously and lends, and his offspring are a blessing.

⁷ Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy.

⁴¹ The one who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward. The one who receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person's reward. ⁴² And whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink because he is a disciple, truly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward."

³⁵ for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. ³⁶ I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.' ³⁷ "Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? ³⁸ When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? ³⁹ When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?' ⁴⁰ "The King will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'

²⁰ For this cause therefore I asked to see you and to speak with you. For because of the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain."

¹⁸ For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge those who are like that.

¹² For this service of giving that you perform not only makes up for lack among the saints, but abounds also through many thanksgivings to God; ¹³ seeing that through the proof given by this service, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the Good News of Christ, and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all; ¹⁴ while they themselves also, with petition on your behalf, yearn for you by reason of the exceeding grace of God in you.

²⁰ for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

¹⁹ Greet Prisca and Aquila, and the house of Onesiphorus.

⁷ For I have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.

²⁰ Yes, brother, let me have joy from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ.

¹⁰ For God is not unrighteous, so as to forget your work and the love which you showed toward his name, in that you served the saints, and still do serve them.

³⁴ For you both had compassion on them that were in chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an enduring one.

³⁰ And Paul stayed two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who were coming to him, ³¹ proclaiming the Kingdom of God, and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, without hindrance.

²⁰ He cried to the LORD, and said, "LORD my God, have you also brought disaster on the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?"

³ If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? ⁴ But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered.

³⁴ Then the King will tell those on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

⁷² to show mercy towards our fathers, to remember his holy covenant,

⁷⁸ because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the dawn from on high will visit us,

³ and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward; Susanna; and many others; who provided for them from their possessions.

¹ It happened that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul, having passed through the upper country, came to Ephesus, and found certain disciples.

²³ for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God; ²⁴ being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;

¹⁵ For he said to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." ¹⁶ So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy. ¹⁷ For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I caused you to be raised up, that I might show in you my power, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth." ¹⁸ So then, he has mercy on whom he desires, and he hardens whom he desires. ¹⁹ You will say then to me, "Why does he still find fault? For who withstands his will?" ²⁰ But who indeed are you, a human being, to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, "Why did you make me like this?" ²¹ Or hasn't the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor? ²² What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath made for destruction, ²³ and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory,

⁸ But I will stay at Ephesus until Pentecost,

¹ It is indeed unnecessary for me to write to you concerning the service to the saints,

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you, before our Lord Jesus at his coming?

³ As I urged you when I was going into Macedonia, stay at Ephesus that you might command certain people not to teach a different doctrine,

¹² But I sent Tychicus to Ephesus.

¹⁰ Concerning this salvation, the prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you,

¹ "To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: "He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, he who walks among the seven golden lampstands says these things:
