¹ Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's chosen ones, and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, ² in hope of everlasting life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began; ³ but in his own time revealed his word in the message with which I was entrusted according to the commandment of God our Savior; ⁴ to Titus, my true child according to a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. ⁵ I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you; ⁶ if anyone is blameless, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, who are not accused of loose or unruly behavior. ⁷ For the overseer must be blameless, as God's steward; not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain; ⁸ but given to hospitality, as a lover of good, sober minded, fair, holy, self-controlled; ⁹ holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him. ¹⁰ For there are many rebellious people, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, ¹¹ whose mouths must be silenced; who are upsetting whole families, teaching things which they should not, for the sake of dishonest gain. ¹² One of them, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, and idle gluttons." ¹³ This testimony is true. For this cause, reprove them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, ¹⁴ not paying attention to Jewish myths and commandments of people who reject the truth. ¹⁵ To the pure, all things are pure; but to those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their mind and their conscience are defiled. ¹⁶ They profess that they know God, but by their works they deny him, being abominable, disobedient, and unfit for any good work.

⁴⁹ But Aaron and his sons offered on the altar of burnt offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.

²⁶ But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep. ²⁷ As I said to you, my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

⁴⁸ As the non-Jewish people heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord. As many as were appointed to everlasting life believed.

⁸ for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

² that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,

¹³ But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth; ¹⁴ to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴ neither to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause speculation, rather than God's stewardship, which is in faith— ⁵ but the goal of this command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and unfeigned faith;

⁴ who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth.

¹⁶ Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great: He was revealed in the flesh, justified by the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, and received up in glory.

³ If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness,

²³ But refuse foolish and ignorant questionings, knowing that they generate strife.

²⁵ in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,

¹¹ For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people, ¹² instructing us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age;

³ seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue;

¹¹ Therefore since all these things will be destroyed like this, what kind of people ought you to be in holy living and godliness,

²³ Whoever denies the Son, the same does not have the Father. He who confesses the Son has the Father also.

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, nor the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not make it good?

²⁹ And also the Eternal One of Israel will not retract or change his mind; for he is not a man that he should change his mind."

²³ I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed. ²⁴ When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. ²⁵ Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was brought forth; ²⁶ while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world. ²⁷ When he established the heavens, I was there; when he set a circle on the surface of the deep, ²⁸ when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong, ²⁹ when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth; ³⁰ then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him, ³¹ Rejoicing in his whole world. My delight was with the sons of men.

³⁴ Then the King will tell those on his right hand, 'Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

⁴⁶ These will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life."

¹⁷ As he was going out into the way, one ran to him, knelt before him, and asked him, "Good Teacher, what must I do that I may inherit everlasting life?"

³⁰ but he will receive one hundred times more now in this time, houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and land, with persecutions; and in the age to come, everlasting life.

¹⁵ so that everyone who believes in him may have everlasting life. ¹⁶ For God loved the world in this way: He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not perish, but have everlasting life.

³⁹ You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have everlasting life; and these are they which testify about me.

⁵⁴ He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of everlasting life.

²⁸ I give everlasting life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.

² even as you gave him authority over all flesh, he will give everlasting life to all whom you have given him.

²⁴ Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory, which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.

² which he promised before through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,

⁷ to those who by perseverance in good works seek glory and honor and immortality -- everlasting life.

² through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

⁴ and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope:

²¹ that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to everlasting life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is everlasting life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

²⁵ Now to him who is able to establish you according to my Good News and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret through long ages,

²⁷ to them God was pleased to make known the glorious riches of this mystery among the non-Jews, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory;

¹⁵ who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and did not please God, and are hostile to all people;

⁸ But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.

¹² Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold of the everlasting life to which you were called, and you confessed the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

¹⁹ laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of that which is truly life.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, according to the promise of the life which is in Christ Jesus,

⁹ who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones' sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with everlasting glory.

¹³ If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself."

¹⁵ Do your best to present yourself approved by God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, properly handling the word of truth.

⁷ in all things showing yourself an example of good works. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness,

¹³ looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ;

⁷ that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of everlasting life.

¹⁷ In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath; ¹⁸ that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, ⁴ to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that does not fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,

²⁰ who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake, ²¹ who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God. ²² Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from a pure heart fervently: ²³ having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living and abiding word of God.

²⁵ This is the promise which he promised us, the everlasting life.

² Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. We know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is. ³ Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.

¹¹ The testimony is this, that God gave to us everlasting life, and this life is in his Son. ¹² He who has the Son has the life. He who does not have God's Son does not have the life. ¹³ These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life.

²⁰ We know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we know him who is true, and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

²¹ Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to everlasting life.

⁸ All who dwell on the earth will worship him, everyone whose name has not been written from the foundation of the world in the Book of Life of the Lamb who has been killed.

⁸ The beast that you saw was, and is not; and is about to come up out of the abyss and is going to destruction. Those who dwell on the earth and whose names have not been written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world will marvel when they see that the beast was, and is not, but is to come.

² Look, in the God of my salvation I will trust, and will not be afraid. For the LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."

¹⁵ Most certainly you are a God who hid yourself, God of Israel, the Savior.'"

²¹ Declare and bring it forth. Yes, let them take counsel together. Who announced this from long ago, has told it from then? Was it not I, the LORD? And there is no other God besides me, a just God and a Savior; there is no one besides me.

²³ In the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressions have reached their full measure, a rash and deceitful king shall arise.

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed on your people and on your holy city, to put an end to the transgression, and to make an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy place.

²⁷ As for both these kings, their minds shall be fixed on evil, and they shall speak lies at the table; but it shall not succeed; for still the end shall be at the appointed time.

³ For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won't prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it; because it will surely come, and it won't delay.

¹⁰ The Good News must first be preached to all the nations.

¹⁵ And he said to them, "Go into all the world, and proclaim the Good News to the whole creation.

⁴⁷ And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,

³⁶ The word which he sent to the children of Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all—

²⁶ He made from one blood every nation of the human race to dwell on all the surface of the earth, having determined appointed seasons, and the boundaries of their dwellings,

⁶ For while we were yet weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.

¹⁴ How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without someone preaching? ¹⁵ And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of peace, who bring good news of good things."

¹⁹ in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and around as far as to Illyricum, I have fully preached the Good News of Christ;

²⁶ but now is revealed, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, is made known for obedience of faith to all the nations;

¹⁷ For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward. But if not of my own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.

⁴ But when the fullness of the time came, God sent out his Son, born to a woman, born under the law,

¹⁰ to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, in him;

¹⁷ He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.

⁵ which in other generations was not made known to people, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; ⁶ that the non-Jews are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News, ⁷ of which I was made a servant, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power. ⁸ To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to proclaim to the non-Jews the unsearchable riches of Christ,

¹³ so that it became evident to the whole praetorian guard, and to all the rest, that my bonds are in Christ;

⁶ which has come to you; even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth;

²³ if it is so that you continue in the faith, established and firm, and not moved away from the hope of the Good News which you heard, which is being proclaimed in all creation under heaven; of which I, Paul, have become a servant.

⁴ But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News, so we speak; not as pleasing people, but God, who tests our hearts.

¹ Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and Christ Jesus our hope;

¹¹ according to the Good News of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.

³ For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;

⁵ For there is one God, and one mediator between God and humanity, a human, Christ Jesus, ⁶ who gave himself as a ransom for all; the testimony in its own times; ⁷ to which I was appointed a proclaimer and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the non-Jews in faith and truth.

¹⁰ For to this end we both labor and strive, because we have set our trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.

¹⁰ but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the Good News. ¹¹ For this, I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher.

¹⁶ But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.

²³ As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are apostles of the churches, the glory of Christ.

¹⁸ I exhorted Titus, and I sent the brother with him. Did Titus take any advantage of you? Did not we walk in the same spirit? Did not we walk in the same steps?

³ But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.

¹² Because the haven was not suitable to winter in, the majority advised going to sea from there, if by any means they could reach Phoenix, and winter there, which is a port of Crete, looking northeast and southeast.

²¹ When they had been long without food, Paul stood up in the middle of them, and said, "Sirs, you should have listened to me, and not have set sail from Crete, and have gotten this injury and loss.

³⁴ But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest your coming together be for judgment. The rest I will set in order whenever I come.

⁴⁰ Let all things be done decently and in order.

⁵ For though I am absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, rejoicing and seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

³ As I urged you when I was going into Macedonia, stay at Ephesus that you might command certain people not to teach a different doctrine,

² The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful people, who will be able to teach others also.

¹⁹ For I have made myself known to him, so that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, so that God may bring to Abraham that which he has spoken to him."

⁷ "'They shall not marry a woman who is a prostitute, or profane; neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband: for he is holy to his God.

¹⁴ A widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a prostitute, these he shall not marry: but a virgin of his own people shall he take as a wife.

But now the LORD says, 'Be it far from me; for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

¹² In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even to the end. ¹³ For I have told him that I will judge his house forever, for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons were cursing God, and he did not restrain them.

⁷ Whoever keeps the Law is a wise son; but he who is a companion of gluttons shames his father.

²² Neither shall they take for their wives a widow, nor her who is put away; but they shall take virgins of the seed of the house of Israel, or a widow who is the widow of a priest.

¹⁵ Did he not make one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? Why one? He sought a godly seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

⁵ There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zechariah, of the division of Abijah. He had a wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

¹⁸ Do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

¹⁴ We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.

² The overseer, therefore, must be beyond criticism, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching; ³ not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money; ⁴ one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence; ⁵ (but if someone does not know how to manage his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?) ⁶ not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. ⁷ Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into disgrace and the trap of the devil.

¹² Let deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

¹⁰ For there are many rebellious people, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,

⁶ May I never enter their council. May my honor never be joined with their assembly. For in their anger they killed men, and for pleasure they hamstrung oxen.

⁹ "Drink no wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the Tent of Meeting, that you do not die: it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations:

¹⁷ He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.

¹⁸ A wrathful man stirs up contention, but one who is slow to anger appeases strife.

³² One who is slow to anger is better than the mighty; one who rules his spirit, than he who takes a city.

⁴ It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, or for princes to take strong drink, ⁵ lest they drink, and forget the decree, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.

⁹ Do not be hasty in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools.

⁷ They also reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink. They are swallowed up by wine. They stagger with strong drink. They err in vision. They stumble in judgment.

¹⁰ His watchmen are blind, they are all without knowledge; they are all mute dogs, they can't bark; dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber. ¹¹ Yes, the dogs are greedy, they can never have enough; and these are shepherds who can't understand: they have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, from every quarter. ¹² "Come," say they, "I will get wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be as this day, great beyond measure."

²¹ Neither shall any of the priests drink wine, when they enter into the inner court.

⁴⁵ "Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?

⁴² The Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right time?

¹ So a person should consider us as Christ's servants, and stewards of God's mysteries. ² Here, moreover, it is required of stewards, that they be found faithful.

¹ This is a faithful saying: If someone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a good work. ² The overseer, therefore, must be beyond criticism, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, modest, hospitable, good at teaching; ³ not a drunkard, not violent, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money; ⁴ one who rules his own house well, having children in subjection with all reverence; ⁵ (but if someone does not know how to manage his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?) ⁶ not a new convert, lest being puffed up he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. ⁷ Moreover he must have good testimony from those who are outside, to avoid falling into disgrace and the trap of the devil. ⁸ Deacons, in the same way, must be reverent, not double-tongued, not devoted to a lot of wine, not greedy for money; ⁹ holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. ¹⁰ Let them also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, if they are blamesless. ¹¹ Their wives in the same way must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. ¹² Let deacons be husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. ¹³ For those who have served well as deacons gain for themselves a good standing, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

²⁴ The Lord's servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, ²⁵ in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,

⁵ I left you in Crete for this reason, that you would set in order the things that were lacking, and appoint elders in every city, as I directed you;

³ and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;

¹⁹ This you know, my beloved brothers. But let every person be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; ²⁰ for human anger does not produce the righteousness of God.

¹⁰ As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms.

² Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, as God wants; not for dishonest gain, but willingly;

¹⁰ but chiefly those who walk after the flesh in the lust of defilement, and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they are not afraid to blaspheme the glories;

¹ It happened, when he had made an end of speaking to Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

¹ Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon; for he had heard that they had anointed him king in the place of his father: for Hiram was ever a lover of David.

⁷ It happened, when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, "Blessed is the LORD this day, who has given to David a wise son over this great people."

³ As for the holy ones who are in the land, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.

¹⁵ Hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the courts. It may be that the LORD, the God of hosts, will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph."

⁴ but in everything commending ourselves, as servants of God, in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses, ⁵ in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings; ⁶ in pureness, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love, ⁷ in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, ⁸ by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;

¹⁰ You are witnesses with God, how holy, righteously, and blamelessly we behaved ourselves toward you who believe.

²² Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

³ unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, hateful of good,

¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love remains in death.

¹ Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.

³ The LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? For there is none like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil. And he still holds firmly to his integrity, although you incited me against him, to ruin him without cause."

⁶ I hold fast to my righteousness, and will not let it go. My conscience will not accuse me as long as I live.

²³ Buy the truth, and do not sell it. Get wisdom, discipline, and understanding.

²⁸ for he powerfully refuted the Jews, publicly showing by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.

²⁴ But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.

²¹ but test all things; hold firmly that which is good.

¹⁵ So then, brothers, stand firm, and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word, or by letter.

¹⁰ for the sexually immoral, for men who have sexual relations with men, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and for whatever else is contrary to sound teaching;

¹⁵ The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

¹⁹ holding faith and a good conscience; which some having thrust away made a shipwreck concerning the faith;

⁹ This saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance.

¹³ Hold the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

³ For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts;

¹¹ whose mouths must be silenced; who are upsetting whole families, teaching things which they should not, for the sake of dishonest gain.

¹ But say the things which fit sound doctrine,

⁷ in all things showing yourself an example of good works. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness, ⁸ and a sound message that cannot be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us.

²⁵ Nevertheless, hold that which you have firmly until I come.

³ Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If therefore you do not wake up, I will come as a thief, and you won't know what hour I will come to you.

¹¹ I am coming quickly. Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown.

² When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,

¹ Some men came down from Judea and taught the brothers, "Unless you are circumcised after the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved."

²⁴ Because we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, to whom we gave no commandment;

²⁹ For I know that after my departure, vicious wolves will enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

¹⁷ Now I appeal to you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them. ¹⁸ For those who are such do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

¹² But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them that desire an occasion, that in which they boast, they may be found even as we. ¹³ For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as Christ's apostles. ¹⁴ And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light. ¹⁵ It is no great thing therefore if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

⁶ I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you by the grace of Christ to a different "good news"; ⁷ and there is not another "good news." Only there are some who trouble you, and want to pervert the Good News of Christ. ⁸ But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should proclaim to you a "good news" other than that which we preached to you, let him be cursed.

⁴ This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage;

¹ Foolish Galatians, who has cunningly deceived you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was openly set forth as crucified?

¹⁷ They zealously seek you, but for no good purpose; they desire to alienate you, that you may be zealous for them. ¹⁸ But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you. ¹⁹ My children, of whom I am again in travail until Christ is formed in you— ²⁰ but I could wish to be present with you now, and to change my tone, for I am perplexed about you. ²¹ Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law?

¹ Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. ² Listen, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing. ³ Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. ⁴ You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.

¹⁴ that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of people, by cleverness in deceitful schemes;

² Beware of the dogs, beware of the evil workers, beware of the false circumcision. ³ For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh;

¹⁰ and with all deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. ¹¹ And because of this, God sends them a strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, ¹² in order that all might be judged who did not believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

⁴ neither to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause speculation, rather than God's stewardship, which is in faith—

⁶ from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned aside to vain talking;

³ If anyone teaches a different doctrine, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness, ⁴ he is conceited, knowing nothing, but obsessed with arguments, disputes, and word battles, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, ⁵ constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.

¹³ But evil people and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

⁴ and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to myths.

²⁶ If anyone thinks himself to be religious while he does not control his tongue, but deceives his heart, this one's religion is worthless.

¹ But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction. ² Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned.

¹⁸ Little children, these are the end times, and as you heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen. By this we know that it is the final hour.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

⁶ But this you have, that you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have there some who hold the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.

¹¹ But the king shall rejoice in God. Everyone who swears by him will praise him, for the mouth of those who speak lies shall be silenced.

⁴² The upright will see it, and be glad. All the wicked will shut their mouths.

¹⁰ His watchmen are blind, they are all without knowledge; they are all mute dogs, they can't bark; dreaming, lying down, loving to slumber. ¹¹ Yes, the dogs are greedy, they can never have enough; and these are shepherds who can't understand: they have all turned to their own way, each one to his gain, from every quarter.

¹⁰ therefore I will give their wives to others, and their fields to those who shall possess them: for everyone from the least even to the greatest is given to covetousness; from the prophet even to the priest every one deals falsely.

¹⁹ You have profaned me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to kill the souls who should not die, and to save the souls alive who should not live, by your lying to my people who listen to lies."

⁶³ that you may remember, and be confounded, and never open your mouth any more, because of your shame, when I have forgiven you all that you have done, says the Lord GOD.'"

⁵ Thus says the LORD concerning the prophets who lead my people astray; for those who feed their teeth, they proclaim, "Peace." and whoever doesn't provide for their mouths, they prepare war against him:

¹¹ Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on the LORD, and say, "Isn't the LORD in the midst of us? No disaster will come on us."

¹³ "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites. For you devour the houses of widows, and for show make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.

⁴⁰ They did not dare to ask him any more questions.

¹² He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

¹⁰ As the truth of Christ is in me, no one will stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia.

⁵ constant friction of people of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.

⁶ For among them are those who crawl into households and take captive weak-willed women weighed down with sins, led away by various passions and pleasures,

⁷ For the overseer must be blameless, as God's steward; not self-pleasing, not easily angered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for dishonest gain;

⁹ holding to the faithful word which is according to the teaching, that he may be able to exhort in the sound doctrine, and to convict those who contradict him.

¹⁰ Reject a divisive person after a first and second warning;

¹ But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction. ² Many will follow their immoral ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned. ³ In covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words: whose sentence now from of old does not linger, and their destruction is not asleep.

²⁸ 'For in him we live, and move, and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also his offspring.'

¹⁸ For those who are such do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

² through the hypocrisy of liars, branded in their own conscience as with a hot iron;

¹² But these, as unreasoning creatures, born natural animals to be taken and destroyed, speaking evil in matters about which they are ignorant, will in their destroying surely be destroyed,

¹⁵ Forsaking the right way they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.

⁸ Yet in like manner these also in their dreaming defile the flesh, despise authority, and blaspheme the glories. ⁹ But Michael, the archangel, when contending with the devil and arguing about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him an abusive condemnation, but said, "May the Lord rebuke you." ¹⁰ But these speak evil of whatever things they do not know. What they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, they are destroyed in these things. ¹¹ Woe to them. For they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in Korah's rebellion. ¹² These are hidden rocky reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you, shepherds who without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn leaves without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; ¹³ wild waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the blackness of darkness has been reserved forever.

¹⁷ "'You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.

⁸⁰ Let my heart be blameless toward your decrees, that I may not be disappointed.

⁵ Let the righteous strike me, it is kindness; let him reprove me, it is like oil on the head; do not let my head refuse it; Yet my prayer is always against evil deeds.

⁵ Better is open rebuke than hidden love.

⁸ For though I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it, though I did regret it. For I see that my letter made you sorry, though just for a while. ⁹ I now rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you were made sorry to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing. ¹⁰ For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death. ¹¹ For look at this very thing, that you were made sorry in a godly way. What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what vindication. In everything you proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter. ¹² So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God.

¹⁰ For this cause I write these things while absent, that I may not deal sharply when present, according to the authority which the Lord gave me for building up, and not for tearing down.

⁶ If you instruct the brothers of these things, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished in the words of the faith, and of the good doctrine which you have followed.

²⁰ Those who sin, reprove in the sight of all, that the rest also may be in fear.

² proclaim the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching.

² that older men should be sober-minded, worthy of respect, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:

¹⁵ Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one despise you.

¹³ And the Lord said, "Because these people draw near with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but they have removed their heart far from me. And in vain do they worship me, teaching instructions that are the commandments of humans.

⁹ But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again?

²² (all of which perish with use), according to human commandments and teachings?

⁴ neither to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which cause speculation, rather than God's stewardship, which is in faith— ⁵ but the goal of this command is love, out of a pure heart and a good conscience and unfeigned faith; ⁶ from which things some, having missed the mark, have turned aside to vain talking; ⁷ desiring to be teachers of the law, though they understand neither what they say, nor about what they strongly affirm.

²⁵ See that you do not refuse him who speaks. For if they did not escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,

²² It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "The dog turns to his own vomit again," and "the sow that has washed to wallowing in the mire."

⁴ A high look, and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, is sin.

¹³ Then Haggai said, "If one who is unclean by reason of a dead body touch any of these, will it be unclean?" The priests answered, "It will be unclean."

⁵ "Speak to all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, 'When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh month for these seventy years, did you at all fast to me, really to me? ⁶ When you eat, and when you drink, do you not eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?

¹⁸ But the things which proceed out of the mouth come out of the heart, and they defile the person.

³⁹ The Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness. ⁴⁰ You foolish ones, did not he who made the outside make the inside also? ⁴¹ But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and see, all things will be clean to you.

¹⁵ A voice came to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean."

¹⁴ I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself; except that to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

²⁰ Do not overthrow God's work for food's sake. All things indeed are clean, however it is evil for anyone who creates a stumbling block by eating.

²³ But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because it is not of faith; and whatever is not of faith is sin.

¹² "All things are lawful for me," but not all things are expedient. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be brought under the power of anything. ¹³ "Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods," but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

⁷ However, not all have this knowledge. But some, being so accustomed to idols until now, eat as of a thing sacrificed to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

²³ "All things are lawful," but not all things are profitable. "All things are lawful," but not all things build up.

²⁵ Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,

³¹ Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

²⁷ Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks the Lord's cup in a manner unworthy will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord. ²⁸ But let a person examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup. ²⁹ For he who eats and drinks eats and drinks judgment to himself, if he does not discern the body.

³ forbidding marriage and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it is received with thanksgiving.

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

²² let us draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water,

¹⁶ he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of Shaddai, falling down, and having his eyes open:

²² Samuel said, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Look, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

²⁴ Saul said to Samuel, "I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and your words, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

¹⁶ how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water.

¹ "Hear this, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, and have come forth out of the waters of Judah; who swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness

² Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and did not forsake the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God.

³⁰ Men will call them 'rejected silver,' because the LORD has rejected them."

³¹ They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.

² They cry to me, 'My God, we Israel acknowledge you.' ³ Israel has cast off that which is good. The enemy will pursue him.

²⁸ Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God abandoned them to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not right;

¹⁸ and know his will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law, ¹⁹ and are confident that you yourself are a guide of the blind, a light to those who are in darkness, ²⁰ a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of children, having in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth. ²¹ You therefore who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? ²² You who say that one should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples? ²³ You who boast in the law, do you, by disobeying the law, dishonor God? ²⁴ For because of you the name of God is blasphemed among the nations, just as it is written.

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words. For because of these things, the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience.

⁹ as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers,

⁸ But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

⁵ holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof. Turn away from these, also. ⁶ For among them are those who crawl into households and take captive weak-willed women weighed down with sins, led away by various passions and pleasures, ⁷ always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. ⁸ Even as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these also oppose the truth; people corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith.

⁴ One who says, "I know him," and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

⁴ For there are certain people who crept in secretly, even those who were long ago written about for this condemnation: ungodly people, turning the grace of our God into sensuality, and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

⁸ But to the cowards, and unbelieving, and detestable, and murderers, and sexually immoral, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

²⁷ There will in no way enter into it anything profane, or one who causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.
