¹ Then Bildad the Shuhite answered, ² "Dominion and fear are with him. He makes peace in his high places. ³ Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise? ⁴ How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean? ⁵ Look, even the moon has no brightness, and the stars are not pure in his sight; ⁶ How much less man, who is a worm, the son of man, who is a worm."

¹¹ Yours, LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, LORD, and you are exalted as head above all. ¹² Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all; and in your hand is power and might; and it is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all.

² "Truly I know that it is so, but how can man be just with God? ³ If he is pleased to contend with him, he can't answer him one time in a thousand. ⁴ For he is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who has hardened himself against him, and prospered? ⁵ He removes the mountains, and they do not know it, when he overturns them in his anger. ⁶ He shakes the earth out of its place. Its pillars tremble. ⁷ He commands the sun, and it doesn't rise, and seals up the stars. ⁸ He alone stretches out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea. ⁹ He makes Osh, Kesil, and Kimah, and the chambers of the south. ¹⁰ He does great things past finding out; yes, marvelous things without number.

⁵ "Those who are deceased tremble, those beneath the waters and all that live in them. ⁶ Sheol is naked before him, and Abaddon has no covering. ⁷ He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing. ⁸ He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not burst under them. ⁹ He encloses the face of his throne, and spreads his cloud on it. ¹⁰ He has described a boundary on the surface of the waters, and to the confines of light and darkness. ¹¹ The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his rebuke. ¹² He stirs up the sea with his power, and by his understanding he strikes through Rahab. ¹³ By his Spirit the heavens are garnished. His hand has pierced the swift serpent. ¹⁴ Look, these are but the outskirts of his ways. How small a whisper do we hear of him. But the thunder of his power who can understand?"

⁹ Or do you have an arm like God? Can you thunder with a voice like him? ¹⁰ "Now deck yourself with excellency and dignity. Array yourself with honor and majesty. ¹¹ Pour out the fury of your anger. Look at everyone who is proud, and bring him low. ¹² Look at everyone who is proud, and humble him. Crush the wicked in their place. ¹³ Hide them in the dust together. Bind their faces in the hidden place. ¹⁴ Then I will also admit to you that your own right hand can save you.

¹ The LORD reigns. Let the peoples tremble. He sits enthroned among the cherubim; the earth shakes. ² The LORD is great in Zion. He is high above all the peoples. ³ Let them praise your great and awesome name. He is Holy.

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.

¹⁹ I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him who is far off and to him who is near," says the LORD; "and I will heal him."

⁶ "There is none like you, LORD; you are great, and your name is great in might. ⁷ Who should not fear you, King of the nations? For it appertains to you; because among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their royal estate, there is none like you.

³⁴ "At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my understanding returned to me, and I blessed the Most High, and I praised and honored him who lives forever. For his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom from generation to generation. ³⁵ All the inhabitants of the earth are regarded as nothing; and he does according to his will in the host of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand, or tell him, "What have you done?" ³⁶ At the same time my understanding returned to me; and for the glory of my kingdom, my majesty and splendor returned to me; and my counselors and my lords sought me out; and I was reinstated over my kingdom, and even more greatness was added to me. ³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble."

⁹ Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'

¹⁸ Jesus came to them and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

¹⁸ But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation; ¹⁹ namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. ²¹ For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

²⁰ which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

¹⁶ and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which he put to death their enmity. ¹⁷ He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.

²⁰ and through him to reconcile all things to himself, making peace through the blood of his cross through him, whether things on the earth or things in heaven.

²⁵ to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

¹⁶ They told the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,

³ And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. ⁴ And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness. ⁵ And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. There was evening and there was morning, one day.

¹⁴ And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky for the illumination of the day, to give light on the earth, and to rule the day and the night, and to separate between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and for years; ¹⁵ and let them be for lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. ¹⁶ And God made the two great lights—the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night—and the stars.

¹² "Have you commanded the morning in your days, and caused the dawn to know its place; ¹³ that it might take hold of the farthest parts of the earth, and shake the wicked out of it?

⁴ Their voice has gone out to all the earth, their words to the farthest part of the world. In them he has set a tent for the sun, ⁵ which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a strong man rejoicing to run his course. ⁶ His going forth is from the end of the heavens, his circuit to its ends; There is nothing hidden from its heat.

²⁰ Praise the LORD, all you angels of his, who are mighty in strength, who fulfill his word, obeying the voice of his word. ²¹ Praise the LORD, all you armies of his, you servants of his, who do his pleasure.

² Praise him, all his angels. Praise him, all his army. ³ Praise him, sun and moon. Praise him, all you shining stars. ⁴ Praise him, you heavens of heavens, You waters that are above the heavens.

²⁶ Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their host by number. He calls them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, not one is lacking.

¹⁰ A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him. Thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him. The court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.

⁴⁵ that you may be children of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.

⁵³ Or do you think that I could not ask my Father, and he would even now send me more than twelve legions of angels?

⁴ In him was life, and the life was the light of humanity.

⁹ The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.

¹⁷ All generous giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.

¹¹ I saw, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousands of ten thousands, and thousands of thousands;

¹⁷ 'Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker? ¹⁸ Look, he puts no trust in his servants. He charges his angels with error. ¹⁹ How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth.

² "Truly I know that it is so, but how can man be just with God?

³ Do you open your eyes on such a one, and bring me into judgment with you? ⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? What is he who is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ Look, he puts no trust in his holy ones. Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight; ¹⁶ how much less one who is abominable and corrupt, a man who drinks iniquity like water.

⁵ Look, I was brought forth in iniquity. In sin my mother conceived me.

³ If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?

² Do not enter into judgment with your servant, for in your sight no man living is righteous.

¹ "In that day there will be a spring opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

¹⁹ Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God. ²⁰ Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

¹ Being therefore justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ;

¹¹ Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.

³ among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

⁹ If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and freed us from our sins by his blood;

¹⁵ Look, he puts no trust in his holy ones. Yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight;

²⁶ if I have seen the sun when it shined, or the moon moving in splendor,

²³ Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, for the LORD of hosts will reign on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and before his elders will be glory.

¹⁹ The sun will no longer be your light by day, nor will the moon shine for illumination at night; but the LORD will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. ²⁰ Your sun shall no more go down, neither shall your moon withdraw itself; for the LORD will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.

¹⁰ For truly that which has been made glorious has not been made glorious in this respect, by reason of the glory that surpasses.

²⁷ Abraham answered, "Look, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord, I who am but dust and ashes.

¹⁹ How much more, those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth.

¹⁷ What is man, that you should magnify him, that you should set your mind on him,

⁶ But I am a worm, and no man; scorned by people and despised by the people.

¹⁴ Do not be afraid, you worm Jacob, and you men of Israel. I will help you," says the LORD, "and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
