¹² Samson said to them, "Let me now put forth a riddle to you. If you can explain it to me within the seven days of the feast, and figure it out, then I will give you thirty linen garments and thirty changes of clothing.

²⁷ Finish the week of this one, and I will give you the other also in exchange for the work which you are to serve with me for another seven years." ²⁸ Then Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week. He gave him Rachel his daughter as wife.

²² He gave to all of them, to each one, a change of clothing. But to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing.

⁶ To understand a proverb, and parables, the words and riddles of the wise.

² "Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel;

⁴⁹ Then I said, "Ah Lord GOD. They say of me, 'Isn't he a speaker of parables?'"

¹⁹ "Do not store up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and decay destroy, and where thieves break through and steal;

¹³ Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing, they do not hear, neither do they understand.

³⁴ Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the crowds; and without a parable, he did not speak to them,

²⁸ They stripped him, and put a scarlet robe on him.

⁵¹ And a certain young man followed him, having a linen cloth thrown around himself, over his naked body. And they grabbed him, ⁵² but he left the linen cloth, and fled naked.

⁷ He spoke a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the best seats, and said to them,

²⁹ His disciples said to him, "Look, now you are speaking plainly and not in any figure of speech.

¹² For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.

² Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth-eaten.
