⁵ But they insisted, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to this place."

¹² Many bulls have surrounded me. Mighty ones of Bashan have encircled me. ¹³ They open their mouths wide against me, like a lion tearing prey and roaring.

¹⁶ For many dogs have surrounded me. A company of evildoers have enclosed me. They have pierced my hands and my feet.

⁴ My soul is among lions. I lie among those who are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

⁴ Those who hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head. Those who want to cut me off, being my enemies wrongfully, are mighty. I have to restore what I did not take away.

¹² Now when he heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee. ¹³ And leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali, ¹⁴ that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, ¹⁵ "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, toward the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations. ¹⁶ The people sitting in darkness have seen a great light, and those living in the land and shadow of death, on them a light has dawned."

²³ And Jesus went about in all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Good News of the Kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.

²⁴ So Pilate, seeing that nothing was being gained, but rather that a disturbance was starting, took water and he washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this righteous man. You see to it."

¹⁴ Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the Good News of God,

¹⁴ Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area. ¹⁵ He taught in their synagogues, being praised by all.

⁵³ And when he left there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to oppose him bitterly, and to provoke him to speak about many things;

²³ But they were urgent with loud voices, asking that he might be crucified. And their voices, and those of the chief priests, prevailed.

⁴³ On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him, "Follow me."
