¹⁶ The man who wanders out of the way of understanding shall rest in the assembly of the dead.

¹⁴ They are appointed as a flock for Sheol. Death shall be their shepherd. The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning. Their beauty shall decay in Sheol, far from their mansion.

⁵ But as for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, The LORD will lead them away with evildoers. Peace be on Israel.

¹⁸ for her house leads down to death, her paths to the dead. ¹⁹ None who go to her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life:

²⁶ for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slain are a mighty army. ²⁷ Her house is the way to Sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

¹⁸ But he doesn't know that the dead are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

²⁰ One who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

⁶ those who have turned back from following the LORD, and those who haven't sought the LORD nor inquired after him.

¹⁹ This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their works were evil. ²⁰ For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, so that his works will not be exposed.

¹ You were made alive when you were dead in your transgressions and sins,

⁴ For concerning those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, ⁵ and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come, ⁶ and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify the Son of God for themselves again, and put him to open shame.

²⁶ For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which will devour the adversaries.

³⁸ But the righteous will live by faith, and if he holds back, my soul has no pleasure in him."

²¹ For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. ²² It has happened to them according to the true proverb, "The dog turns to his own vomit again," and "the sow that has washed to wallowing in the mire."

¹⁹ They went out from us, but they did not belong to us; for if they had belonged to us, they would have continued with us. But they left, that they might be revealed that none of them belong to us.
