¹ You were once dead because of your trespasses and sins.

²² But Jesus said to him: »Follow me; and leave the dead to bury their own dead.«

²⁴ »‘My son was dead. Now he is alive. He was lost. Now he has been found. The feasting began.’

³² »‘We had to celebrate and be happy. Your brother was dead. Now he is alive! He was lost and now he has been found!’«

² The law of the Spirit gives us life through (with) (because of) Christ Jesus. It has set me free from the law of sin and death.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ compels us to judge, that one died for all and therefore all died.

⁴⁵ Thus it is written: »The first man Adam was made a living being.« The last Adam became a life giving spirit!

¹⁹ and what the exceeding greatness of his power is toward us who believe, according to the operation of his mighty strength. ²⁰ He operated in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places.

⁵ even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. For by grace (loving-kindness) you have been saved. ⁶ God raised us up with him and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places, with Christ Jesus.

¹⁸ They are darkened (blinded) (obscured) in their understanding, alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart.

¹⁴ For this reason it says: »Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.«

¹³ You were dead through your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh. He made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses.

¹ If you have been raised together with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. ² Think about the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. ³ For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. ⁴ When Christ, who is our life, will be made known, then you will also be made known with him in glory.

⁶ But she that gives herself to pleasure is dead while she lives.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love abides in death.
