² My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer. I cry by night, but I find no rest.

³ My tears have been my food day and night, while they say to me all day long: Where is your God?

¹⁶ But I call on God, and Jehovah saves me. ¹⁷ Morning, noon, and night I complain and murmur. He listens to my voice.

⁴ O Jehovah God, commander of armies, how long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?
