¹ For I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

²⁰ Our fathers worshipped on this mountain; but you say that Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness which he had by faith while uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all those who believe without being circumcised; that righteousness might be credited to them as well:

²¹ For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you.

¹ Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you be ignorant.

³⁸ But if any man does not recognize this, he is not recognized.

²⁹ And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

²⁹ By faith they passed through the Red sea as on dry land: but when the Egyptians attempted to do so, they were drowned.
