¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.

¹⁶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

¹⁶ You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you to go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: so that whatever you shall ask from the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

²⁵ Whom God has set forth to be an atoning sacrifice through faith in his blood. He did this to declare his righteousness, for in the forbearance of God, he passed over sins of the past; ²⁶ To declare at this present time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

⁸ But God shows his love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Having been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from the wrath of God through him. ¹⁰ For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, how much more, having being reconciled, shall we shall be saved by his life.

²⁹ For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ And whom he predestined, those he also called: and whom he called, those he also justified: and whom he justified, those he also glorified.

¹⁹ That is, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not counting men's sins against them; and he has committed to us the word of reconciliation. ²⁰ Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were making his appeal through us: we beg you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. ²¹ For our sakes he has made him to be sin, who knew no sin; that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, ⁵ Even when we were dead in transgressions, has made us alive together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)

³ For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, slaves to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy; hated, and hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Saviour appeared, ⁵ He saved us, not because of works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing by the Holy Spirit;

²⁴ He himself bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we might die to sins and live to righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

¹⁸ For Christ died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,

² And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

¹ Behold, how great is the love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God; and so we are. The world does not know us, because it did not know him.

⁸ He who does not love does not know God; for God is love. ⁹ In this was the love of God revealed among us, that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

¹⁹ We love, because he first loved us.
