¹⁹ We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies under the power of the wicked one.

³¹ Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

³⁰ Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes; he has no power over me,

¹⁸ If the world hates you, know that it hated me before it hated you. ¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, because I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

¹¹ Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

²⁸ And as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper. ²⁹ They were filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, covetousness, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malevolence; whisperers, ³⁰ Slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, ³¹ Without understanding, untrustworthy, without natural affection, unmerciful: ³² Who knowing the just decree of God, that those who commit such things are worthy of death, not only do these things, but applaud those who practice them.

⁹ What then? are we better than they? No, by no means: for we have already charged that both Jews and Greeks are all under sin; ¹⁰ As it is written, There is no one righteous, no, not one: ¹¹ There is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks after God. ¹² They have all left the way, together they have become unprofitable; there is no one who does good, no, not one. ¹³ Their throats are an open grave; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: ¹⁴ Their mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: ¹⁵ Their feet are swift to shed blood: ¹⁶ Destruction and misery are in their ways: ¹⁷ And the way of peace have they not known: ¹⁸ There is no fear of God before their eyes.

¹⁶ The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

¹² For our boast is in this: the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and still more toward you.

⁴ For the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe, lest they should see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.

¹ For we know that if the earthly tent in which we live is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

⁴ Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of our God and Father:

² In which you walked in times past, according to the ways of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.

¹² And for this reason I also suffer these things: nevertheless, I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him until that day.

³ For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, slaves to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy; hated, and hating one another.

⁴ You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? whoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.

²⁴ And he who keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us.

⁴ You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he who is in you, than he who is in the world. ⁵ They are of the world: therefore what they speak is of the world, and the world hears them. ⁶ We are of God: he who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

¹⁰ He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself: he who does not believe God has made him a liar; because he does not believe the testimony that God has given regarding his Son.

¹³ These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God; that you may know that you have eternal life.

¹⁸ We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who was begotten of God keeps him, and the wicked one does not touch him.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.

⁷ And it was given to him to make war on the saints, and to overcome them: and authority was given to him over every tribe, and people, and tongue, and nation. ⁸ And all who live upon the earth shall worship him, every one whose name is not written in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.

³ And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and sealed it over him, that he should no longer deceive the nations, until the thousand years should be ended: and after that he must be released for a short time.

⁷ And when the thousand years have expired, Satan shall be released from his prison, ⁸ And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for battle: the number of them is like the sand of the sea.
