¹² Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

¹⁰ Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones; for I say to you, That in heaven their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.

¹ Be imitators of me, just as I am of Christ.

¹⁰ Now if Timothy comes, see that he has no cause for fear while he is with you: for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am. ¹¹ Therefore, let no man despise him: but send him forth in peace, that he may come to me: for I am expecting him with the brethren.

⁴ But as the ministers of God we commend ourselves in all things; in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distress, ⁵ In beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in sleeplessness, in hunger; ⁶ By purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned love, ⁷ By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left, ⁸ In honour and dishonour, in evil report and good report: regarded as deceivers, and yet true; ⁹ As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, yet, behold, we live; as chastened, and yet not killed; ¹⁰ As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. ¹¹ O Corinthians, we have spoken freely to you, our hearts are open wide. ¹² There is no restraint in our affection for you, but you are restrained in your affection for us. ¹³ As a fair exchange, (I speak as to children,) widen your hearts also. ¹⁴ Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what partnership does righteousness have with unrighteousness? and what fellowship has light with darkness? ¹⁵ And what harmony has Christ with Belial? or what does he who believes have in common with an unbeliever? ¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? for we are the temple of the living God; as God has said, I will live in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. ¹⁷ Therefore, come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and do not touch the unclean thing; and I will welcome you,

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are admirable; if there is any virtue, and if there is anything worthy of praise, think on these things.

⁶ And you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word despite much affliction, with joy from the Holy Spirit:

¹⁰ You are witnesses, and so is God, how holy and just and blameless was our behaviour toward you who believe:

⁷ For you yourselves know how you ought to imitate us: for we were not idle among you; ⁸ Nor did we eat any man's bread without paying; but with labour and toil we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you: ⁹ Not because we do not have the right, but to make ourselves an example for you to follow.

¹⁴ And the grace of our Lord overflowed for me, along with the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

⁷ Consider what I say; and the Lord will give you understanding in all things.

¹⁵ Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.

²² Flee youthful lusts: and follow righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

⁷ In all things show yourself to be an example of good works, and in your teaching show purity, dignity,

¹⁵ Speak these things, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man disregard you.

¹³ Who is wise and understanding among you? by his good life let him show forth works done with the humility of wisdom.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

³ Not being lords over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.

⁵ For this very reason, give all diligence to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; ⁶ And to knowledge self-control; and to self-control perseverance; and to perseverance godliness; ⁷ And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are in you, and are increasing, they keep you from being either ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
