¹ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, ² To Timothy, my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. ³ I thank God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience, as without ceasing I remember you night and day in my prayers. ⁴ Remembering your tears, I greatly desire to see you, that I may be filled with joy; ⁵ I am reminded of the sincere faith that is in you, which lived first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice; and I am persuaded is in you also. ⁶ Therefore, I would remind you to stir into flame the gift of God, which is in you by the laying on of my hands. ⁷ For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of self-discipline. ⁸ Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but share in the afflictions of the gospel, by the power of God; ⁹ Who has saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not by virtue of our works, but because of his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, ¹⁰ But has now been made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who has abolished death, and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. ¹¹ Of this gospel I was appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher, ¹² And for this reason I also suffer these things: nevertheless, I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed to him until that day. ¹³ Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. ¹⁴ That good thing which was committed to you, guard by the Holy Spirit, who dwells within us. ¹⁵ This you know, that all those who are in Asia have turned away from me; among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. ¹⁶ May the Lord give mercy to the house of Onesiphorus; for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chains: ¹⁷ But when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. ¹⁸ May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day. You know very well in how many ways he ministered to me at Ephesus.

³⁴ Then shall the King say to those on his right hand, Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: ³⁵ For I was hungry, and you gave me food: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: ³⁶ Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. ³⁷ Then the righteous shall answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you? or thirsty, and give you drink? ³⁸ When did we see you a stranger, and take you in? or naked, and clothe you? ³⁹ Or when did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, as you have done it to one of the least of these, my brethren, you have done it to me.

³⁸ Therefore, whoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.

⁷² To show the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;

³¹ And certain of the chief officials of Asia, who were his friends, sent to him, asking him not to venture into the theatre.

¹⁶ For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, because he did not want to spend time in Asia: for he was making haste, so that if possible, he would be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.

³ I am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the strict manner of the law of our fathers, and was zealous for God, as you all are this day.

³³ As it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone, a rock that will make them fall: but whoever believes in him shall never be put to shame.

¹⁹ Dearly beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place for the wrath of God: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.

⁵ One man esteems one day above another: another esteems every day alike. Let each man be fully convinced in his own mind.

¹⁴ I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

¹² And again, Isaiah says, The root of Jesse shall come, and he shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles hope. ¹³ Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit. ¹⁴ And I myself am also convinced about you, my brethren, that you are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able also to admonish one another.

³⁰ Now I urge you, brethren, for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; ³¹ That I may be delivered from those who do not believe in Judaea; and that my service for Jerusalem may be accepted by the saints; ³² That I may come to you with joy by the will of God, and may together with you be refreshed.

²⁵ Now to him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was kept secret for long ages past, ²⁶ But now has been made manifest, and through the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all nations to bring about the obedience of faith:

⁹ For I think that God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as if we were condemned to death: for we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels and to men. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honoured, but we are despised. ¹¹ Even to this present hour we both hunger and thirst, and are ill-clothed, and are buffeted, and are homeless; ¹² And we labour, working with our own hands: when reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure it: ¹³ When slandered, we answer kindly; we have been made the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, even to this day.

¹⁹ Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own?

⁸ But I will stay at Ephesus until Pentecost,

⁶ By purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in unfeigned love, ⁷ By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left,

¹ Now regarding this ministry to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you:

¹² For the performance of this service not only supplies the wants of the saints, but also overflows in many thanksgivings to God. ¹³ Because of the proof given by this service, they will glorify God because of your obedience to the gospel of Christ, which you profess, and for your liberal contribution to them, and to all; ¹⁴ And in their prayers, their hearts will go out to you because of the surpassing grace of God in you.

²³ Are they servants of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more so; in labours more abundant, in beatings beyond number, in prison more frequently, in danger of death often. ²⁴ From the Jews I five times received forty lashes less one. ²⁵ Thrice I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have spent in the deep; ²⁶ On frequent journeys, in perils from rivers, in perils from robbers, in perils from my own countrymen, in perils from the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils on the sea, in perils among false brethren; ²⁷ In toil and hardship, in many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and nakedness.

Therefore, most gladly will I boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore, for Christ's sake, I take pleasure in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in distresses: for when I am weak, then I am strong.

²⁰ According to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be ashamed, but that with all boldness, now as always, Christ shall be exalted in my body, whether by life, or by death.

⁶ If you point out all these things to the brethren, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished by the words of faith and of good doctrine, which you have been following.

¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophetic message when the body of elders laid hands upon you.

³ If any man teaches otherwise, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the teaching which accords with godliness;

¹⁸ But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.

² (For the life was revealed, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was revealed to us;)

⁴ And these things we write to you, that our joy may be complete.

²⁵ And this is the promise which he himself has given us: eternal life.

¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

¹⁸ There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear has to do with punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love.

¹¹ And this is the testimony, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

³ Beloved, while my whole concern was to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write and exhort you to earnestly contend for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

⁵ Now I wish to remind you, though you already know all this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.

²⁴ Now to him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless in the presence of his glory with exceedingly great joy,

² Who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw.

⁹ I, John, your brother and companion in the tribulation, and kingdom, and endurance which are ours in Jesus, was on the island that is called Patmos, because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

¹ To the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These are the words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands;

⁷ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; To him who overcomes I will give the right to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

²⁵ Only that you hold fast to what you have, until I come.

³ Therefore, remember what you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If you will not awaken, I will come like a thief, and you shall not know at what hour I will come upon you.

¹¹ Behold, I come quickly: hold fast to that which you have, that no man may take your crown.

¹⁷ For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall lead them to the springs of the waters of life: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives to death.

⁸ And all who live upon the earth shall worship him, every one whose name is not written in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.

⁸ The beast that you saw was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go to perdition: and those who live on the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, shall marvel when they behold the beast, because he was, and is not, and is to come.

¹ And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was illuminated by his glory.

¹⁰ And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, Do not do that: I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren, who hold to the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

¹⁴ And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

⁴ And he shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, or sorrow, or crying, or pain: for the former things have passed away.

¹ And he showed me the river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, ² Down the middle of the street of the city. And on either side of the river was the tree of life, which bore twelve kinds of fruits, and yielded its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

¹⁴ Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

¹⁷ And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him who hears say, Come. And let him who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take the water of life without cost.
