¹ Let as many as are under the yoke of slavery count their masters as worthy of all honour, that the name of God and our teaching may be not defamed. ² And those who have believing masters must not despise them because they are brethren; but rather service them all the more, because those who partake of their services are believers and beloved. Teach and exhort these things. ³ If any man teaches otherwise, and does not consent to sound words, the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the teaching which accords with godliness; ⁴ He is proud, knowing nothing, but has an unhealthy craving for controversy and disputes about words, from which come envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions, ⁵ And wrangling among men of corrupt minds, who are destitute of the truth, and suppose that godliness is a means to gain. ⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain. ⁷ For we brought nothing into this world, and we can carry nothing out. ⁸ But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with these. ⁹ But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil: and some, by craving it, have wandered from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. ¹¹ But you, O man of God, flee these things; and follow righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. ¹² Fight the good fight of faith; lay hold on eternal life, to which you are called, to which you made the good confession before many witnesses. ¹³ I charge you in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession; ¹⁴ That you keep the commandment without spot, free of reproach, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: ¹⁵ Which he will bring about in his own time, he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; ¹⁶ Who alone has immortality, dwelling in light which no man can approach; whom no man has seen, nor can see. To him be honour and power and dominion forever. Amen. ¹⁷ Command those who are rich in this world not to be arrogant, nor to trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who richly gives us all things to enjoy. ¹⁸ They are to do good, that they may be rich in good works, generous and willing to share; ¹⁹ Laying up for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may take hold of that which is life indeed. ²⁰ O Timothy, guard that which has been entrusted to you. Avoid godless chatter and the contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge: ²¹ Which some have professed and thus erred concerning the faith. Grace be with you.

⁴⁸ He is like a man who built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the river beat violently upon that house, but could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. ⁴⁹ But he who hears, and does not obey, is like a man who built a house upon the ground without a foundation; and the river beat violently against it, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

⁸ And I say to you, Whoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: ⁹ But he who denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

¹³ Because of the proof given by this service, they will glorify God because of your obedience to the gospel of Christ, which you profess, and for your liberal contribution to them, and to all; ¹⁴ And in their prayers, their hearts will go out to you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. ¹⁵ Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift.

⁵ Let your lives be free from the love of money; and be content with such things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you. ⁶ So we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man can do to me.

⁸ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

¹⁶ Do not forget to do good and to share: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

²³ I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been set at liberty; with whom, if he arrives shortly, I will come to see you.

²⁵ Grace be with you all. Amen.

⁹ Let the brother of humble circumstances rejoice that he is exalted: ¹⁰ And the rich, that he is made humble: because like the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

¹⁹ Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger:

⁵ Listen, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?

¹⁴ What does it profit, my brethren, if a man say he has faith, but has not works? can that faith save him? ¹⁵ If a brother or sister is without clothing, and destitute of daily food, ¹⁶ And one of you says to him, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled; yet you do not give him the things which are necessary for the body; of what benefit is that? ¹⁷ Even so faith, if it does not have works, is dead, being alone. ¹⁸ But a man may say, You have faith, and I have works: show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

¹ What causes strife and quarrels among you? do they not come from your passions, which are at war in your members? ² You covet, and do not have, so you kill; and envy, and cannot obtain, so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.

⁵ Do you think that the scripture speaks in vain when it says, The spirit he made to dwell in us tends toward envious desires? ⁶ But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

¹ Come now, you rich men, weep and howl for the miseries that shall come upon you. ² Your riches have rotted, and your garments are moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver is corroded; and their rust shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as if it were fire. You have heaped treasure together in the last days. ⁴ Behold, the wages of the labourers who have reaped your fields, which you withheld, cry out against you: and the cries of those who reaped have been heard by the ears of the Lord of hosts.

¹⁹ Brethren, if any of you strays from the truth, and someone brings him back;

⁴ To an imperishable and undefiled inheritance, that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,

⁷ That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold, which perishes, though it is tested by fire, might be found to result in praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

¹⁹ But with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

¹ Therefore, laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisy, and envy, and all kinds of slander, ² As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow by it in your salvation:

¹² Conduct yourselves righteously among the Gentiles: that, though they speak against you as evildoers, they may behold your good works and glorify God on the day of visitation.

¹⁷ Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king. ¹⁸ Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the perverse. ¹⁹ For this is commendable, if for the sake of conscience toward God, a man endures sorrow while suffering wrongfully. ²⁰ For what credit is there, if, when you are beaten for your wrongs, you endure it patiently? but if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you endure it patiently, this is commendable before God.

⁹ Do not return evil for evil, or insult for insult: but instead with blessing; knowing that you were called to this, that you should inherit a blessing.

¹¹ Let him turn from evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and pursue it.

¹⁶ Keeping a good conscience, so that when you are falsely accused, those who revile your good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed.

¹ I exhort the elders who are among you, as a fellow elder, and as a witness of the sufferings of Christ and as a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

¹⁰ But the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

³ Whose divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who has called us by his own glory and virtue: ⁴ By which he has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. ⁵ For this very reason, give all diligence to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; ⁶ And to knowledge self-control; and to self-control perseverance; and to perseverance godliness; ⁷ And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness love.

³ And in greed they shall exploit you with false words: the judgment against them from of old does not linger, and their condemnation does not slumber.

⁷ And delivered righteous Lot, who was vexed by the licentious lives of the wicked: ⁸ (For that righteous man dwelt among them, seeing and hearing, and his righteous soul was vexed from day to day by their unlawful deeds;)

¹⁰ And particularly those who walk after the flesh in its unclean lusts, and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of the glorious ones.

¹² But these, like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of things they do not understand; and shall utterly perish with them in the same destruction;

¹⁵ Who have forsaken the right way, and have gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

¹⁸ For they speak great swelling words of vanity, and allure through the lusts of the flesh, through sensuality, those who are just escaping from the ones who live in error.

¹⁴ Therefore, beloved, seeing that you look for these things, be diligent that you may be found at peace with him, without spot, and blameless.

⁵ This then is the message which we have heard from him, and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. ¹⁶ For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. ¹⁷ And the world passes away, along with its lusts: but he who does the will of God abides forever.

²⁵ And this is the promise which he himself has given us: eternal life.

⁸ Look to yourselves, that you do not lose those things which we have worked for, but that you may receive a full reward. ⁹ Whoever runs too far ahead, and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God. He who abides in the teaching of Christ has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰ If anyone comes to you, and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, or give him any encouragement: ¹¹ Beloved, do not follow that which is evil, but that which is good. He who does good is of God: but he who does evil has not seen God.

⁸ Likewise, these dreamers defile the flesh, despise authority, and speak evil of the glorious ones.

¹⁰ But these men speak evil of things which they do not understand: but what they know by instinct, like brute beasts, by these things they corrupt themselves. ¹¹ Woe to them! for they have gone the way of Cain, and for profit have plunged into the error of Balaam, and have perished in the rebellion of Korah.

¹⁶ These are grumblers, complainers, following after their own lusts; and their mouths speak great swelling words, flattering people to gain an advantage.

²⁴ Now to him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless in the presence of his glory with exceedingly great joy, ²⁵ To the only God our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory and majesty, dominion and authority, before all time, and now, and forevermore. Amen.

Even so, Amen. ⁸ I am Alpha and Omega, says the Lord, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword: and his face was like the sun shining at full strength. ¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as if dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying to me, Do not fear; I am the first and the last, ¹⁸ The one who lives; I was dead, and, behold, I am alive forevermore, and possess the keys of death and of Hades.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, that they might eat things sacrificed to idols, and commit sexual immorality. ¹⁵ In the same way you also have those who hold to the teachings of the Nicolaitans.

³ Therefore, remember what you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If you will not awaken, I will come like a thief, and you shall not know at what hour I will come upon you.

¹⁴ And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

¹⁷ For you say, I am rich, and have grown wealthy, and have need of nothing; but you do not know that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.

¹¹ You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for you have created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.

¹² Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.

¹⁴ They shall make war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and those who are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

³ For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her adulteries, and the kings of the earth have committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich with her excessive luxuries.

⁶ Repay her as she has paid, and double, according to her works: in the cup which she has mixed for others, mix for her a double portion. ⁷ As she glorified herself and lived in luxury, give to her that measure of torment and grief: for she says in her heart, I sit as a queen, and am no widow, and shall never see sorrow.

¹³ And cinnamon, and spice, and incense, and myrrh, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and the souls of men.

¹⁶ And he has on his robe and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

³ And I heard a great voice from the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall live among them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

⁶ And he said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him who is thirsty, without cost, from the spring of the water of life.

¹ And he showed me the river of the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

⁵ And there shall be no night there; and they shall need no lamp, nor light from the sun; for the Lord God shall give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
