¹ There were some present at that time who told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. ² And Jesus answered, saying to them, Do you suppose these Galilaeans were greater sinners than all the other Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? ³ I tell you, No: but, unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish. ⁴ Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were more guilty than all the men who lived in Jerusalem? ⁵ I tell you, No: but, unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish. ⁶ Then he spoke this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit on it, and found none. ⁷ Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and have found none: cut it down; why should it use up the ground? ⁸ And he answered and said to him, Lord, let it alone this year also, until I shall dig about it, and put manure on it: ⁹ And if it bears fruit, fine: and if not, then you can cut it down. ¹⁰ And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. ¹¹ And, behold, there was a woman who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years, and was bowed over, and could not straighten up at all. ¹² And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said to her, Woman, you are freed from your sickness. ¹³ And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she straightened up, and glorified God. ¹⁴ And the ruler of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, said to the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: therefore come during them and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. ¹⁵ The Lord then answered him, and said, You hypocrite, does not each one of you on the sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall, and lead him away to water? ¹⁶ And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? ¹⁷ And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced over all the glorious things he was doing. ¹⁸ Then he said, What is the kingdom of God like? and to what shall I compare it? ¹⁹ It is like a mustard seed, which a man took, and planted in his garden; and it grew, and became a great tree; and the birds of the air lodged in its branches. ²⁰ And again he said, To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? ²¹ It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened. ²² And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and traveling toward Jerusalem. ²³ Then someone said to him, Lord, will only a few be saved? And he said to them, ²⁴ Strive to enter in at the narrow gate: for many, I say to you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. ²⁵ When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open up to us; then he shall answer and say to you, I do not know where you are from: ²⁶ Then you shall begin to say, We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets. ²⁷ But he shall say, I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity. ²⁸ There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out. ²⁹ And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall recline at table in the kingdom of God. ³⁰ And, behold, there are some who are last who shall be first, and there are some who are first who shall be last. ³¹ That same hour some of the Pharisees came, saying to him, Get away, and depart from here: for Herod wants to kill you. ³² And he said to them, Go tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall complete my course. ³³ Nevertheless, I must journey on today, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem. ³⁴ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to you; how often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not allow it! ³⁵ Behold, your house is left to you desolate: and truly I say to you, You shall not see me, until the time comes when you shall say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

² And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pilate, the governor.

³⁷ After this man, Judas of Galilee rose up in the days of the census, and drew away many people after him: he also perished; and all those who followed him were dispersed.

¹⁷ For the time has come for judgment, which must begin with the household of God: and if it begins with us, what shall the end be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? ¹⁸ And if it is with difficulty that the righteous are saved, what shall become of the ungodly and the sinner?

⁴ Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were more guilty than all the men who lived in Jerusalem?

² And his disciples asked him, Rabbi, who sinned, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

⁴ And when the natives saw the creature hanging on his hand, they said to themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, and though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow him to live.

² And saying, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

¹⁰ And now the axe is laid to the root of the trees: therefore every tree which does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire. ¹¹ I baptize you with water for repentance: but he who comes after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry: he shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit, and with fire. ¹² His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly clean his threshing floor, and gather his wheat into the barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

⁴⁵ Then it goes, and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they enter in and live there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.

⁷ The king was angry, and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berachiah, whom you killed between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Truly I say to you, All these things shall come upon this generation. ³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets, and stone those who are sent to you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not let me! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

²¹ For then there shall be great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. ²² And unless those days had been cut short, no flesh would be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days shall be cut short. ²³ Then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is the Christ, or there; do not believe it. ²⁴ For false Christs shall arise, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; so as to deceive, if it were possible, even the very elect. ²⁵ Behold, I have told you beforehand. ²⁶ Therefore if they shall say to you, Behold, he is in the desert; do not go forth: behold, he is in the inner rooms; do not believe it. ²⁷ For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. ²⁸ For wherever the body is, there will the vultures be gathered together. ²⁹ Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

⁵ I tell you, No: but, unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish.

⁴² Saying, If you, even you, had only known on this day, the things which make for peace! but now they are hidden from your eyes. ⁴³ For the days shall come upon you, when your enemies shall build an embankment about you, and surround you, and keep you in on every side, ⁴⁴ And shall level you to the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave in you one stone upon another; because you did not know the time of your visitation.

²² For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. ²³ But woe to those who are with child, and to those who nurse infants, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

²⁸ But Jesus, turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. ²⁹ For, behold, the days are coming when they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts which never nursed. ³⁰ Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall upon us; and to the hills, Cover us.

⁴⁷ And that repentance for forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

³⁸ Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ³⁹ For the promise is for you, and for your children, and for all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. ⁴⁰ And with many other words did he testify and exhort them, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.

¹⁹ Therefore repent, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;

²¹ And I gave her time to repent; but she refuses to repent of her immorality. ²² Behold, I will cast her upon a bed of anguish, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.

¹² And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

²⁴ And when he had begun the settlement, one was brought to him, who owed him ten thousand talents.

⁴¹ There was a certain creditor who had two debtors: the one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. ⁴² And when they were unable to repay, he freely forgave them both. Now, which of them will love him most?

⁴ And forgive our sins; for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.

⁷ And said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which means, Sent.) He went his way, and washed, and came back seeing.

¹¹ He answered and said, A man who is called Jesus made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, Go to Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received my sight.

³ I tell you, No: but, unless you repent, you shall all likewise perish.

¹⁹ And when he saw a fig tree by the way, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves, and he said to it, Let no fruit grow on you ever again. And at once the fig tree withered away. ²⁰ And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How did the fig tree so quickly wither away?

³⁴ And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the tenants, that they might collect his fruit. ³⁵ And the tenants took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. ³⁶ Again, he sent other servants, more than the first: and they did the same to them. ³⁷ But last of all he sent to them his son, saying, They will respect my son. ³⁸ But when the tenants saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize his inheritance. ³⁹ And they took him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. ⁴⁰ Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?

¹² On the next day, when they came from Bethany, he was hungry: ¹³ And seeing a fig tree far off with leaves, he went to it, to see if he might find something on it: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for it was not the season for figs. ¹⁴ And Jesus said to it, May no man ever eat fruit from you again. And his disciples heard it.

¹⁰ And at harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants, that they should give him some of the fruit of the vineyard: but the tenants beat him, and sent him away empty-handed. ¹¹ He sent another servant: and they beat him also, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. ¹² And he sent a third: and they wounded him, and cast him out. ¹³ Then the lord of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will respect him when they see him. ¹⁴ But when the tenants saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

¹⁶ You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and appointed you to go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: so that whatever you shall ask from the Father in my name, he may give it to you.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

¹⁷ Not because I desire a gift: but I desire the fruit that increases to your credit.

¹ Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for them is that they might be saved.

¹⁴ That I might provoke to envy my own people, and might save some of them.

⁹ The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some men count slowness; but is patient toward you, not wanting that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

¹⁵ Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us. They do not please God, and oppose all men,

⁸ But that which bears thorns and thistles is worthless, and is near to being cursed; its end is to be burned.

³ And they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, O King of the ages. ⁴ Who shall not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name? for you alone are holy: all nations shall come and worship before you; for your righteous acts have been revealed.

⁵ And I heard the angel of the waters say, You are righteous, you who are, and were, O Holy One, because you have judged thus. ⁶ For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have given them blood to drink; for such is their due. ⁷ And I heard the altar say, Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.

²³ And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of infirmity among the people.

¹⁵ And he taught in their synagogues, and was praised by all. ¹⁶ And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as was his custom, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read.

⁴⁴ And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

³² As they were going away, behold, a dumb man possessed by a devil was brought to him. ³³ And when the devil was cast out, the dumb man spoke: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.

²¹ And he asked his father, How long has this been happening to him? And he said, Since he was a child.

² Along with certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary of Magdala, out of whom seven devils had gone out,

²⁷ And when he stepped onto the land, he was met by a man from the city, who had devils, and for a long time had worn no clothes, nor did he live in a house, but in the tombs.

⁴³ And a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone,

¹⁶ And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

⁵ And a certain man was there, who had an infirmity for thirty-eight years. ⁶ When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been a long time in that condition, he said to him, Do you want to be made well?

¹⁹ And they asked them, Is this your son, who you say was born blind? how then does he now see? ²⁰ His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind: ²¹ But by what means he now sees, we do not know; or who has opened his eyes, we do not know: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.

² And a certain man, lame from his mother's womb, was being carried to the temple gate which is called Beautiful, where they laid him daily to ask for alms from those who entered into the temple;

²² For the man was more than forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was performed.

⁸ Now there sat a certain man at Lystra without strength in his feet; he was a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked. ⁹ He heard Paul speak: and Paul, who steadfastly beheld him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, ¹⁰ Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on your feet. And he leaped up and walked.

¹⁶ When evening had come, they brought to him many who were possessed by devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all who were sick:

⁸ But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man with the withered hand, Rise up, and stand here. And he arose and stood there. ⁹ Then Jesus said to them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it? ¹⁰ And looking around at them all, he said to the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored.

²³ And begged him greatly, saying, My little daughter lies at the point of death: I beg you, come and lay your hands on her, that she may be healed and live.

⁵ And he could do no miracles there, except to lay his hands upon a few sick people, and heal them.

²⁵ After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw everything clearly.

¹⁸ They shall pick up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

⁴⁰ Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any sick with various diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

¹⁴ And when he saw them, he said to them, Go show yourselves to the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. ¹⁵ And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, ¹⁶ And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. ¹⁷ And Jesus answered, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.

¹⁷ And Ananias went his way, and entered the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me, that you might regain your sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

² But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, Behold, your disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

¹⁰ And, behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath? that they might accuse him. ¹¹ And he said to them, What man is there among you, if he has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the sabbath day, will not lay hold of it, and lift it out? ¹² How much more valuable then is a man than a sheep? Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the sabbath.

² And they watched him, to see whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him. ³ And he said to the man who had the withered hand, Stand and come here. ⁴ And he said to them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace. ⁵ And when he had looked around on them with anger, grieved at the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man, Stretch forth your hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored. ⁶ And the Pharisees went forth, and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.

²² And, behold, there came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

⁷ And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, to see if he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find a reason to accuse him.

¹¹ And they were filled with rage; and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.

⁴¹ And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and begged him to come to his house:

³ And Jesus spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, asking, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? ⁴ But they held their peace. And he took hold of him, and healed him, and let him go; ⁵ And answered them, saying, If one of you has a son or an ox fall into a pit on the sabbath day, which of you will not immediately pull him out? ⁶ And they could not answer these things.

¹⁵ The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well. ¹⁶ And therefore the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he had done these things on the sabbath day.

¹⁴ And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes. ¹⁵ Then again the Pharisees asked him how he had received his sight. He said to them, He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see. ¹⁶ Therefore, some of the Pharisees said, This man is not of God, because he does not keep the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man who is a sinner do such miraculous signs? And there was a division among them.

¹⁵ And after the reading of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent to them, saying, Brethren, if you have any word of exhortation for the people, say on.

⁸ And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his household; and many of the Corinthians heard and believed, and were baptized.

¹⁷ Then they all took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio was not concerned about any of these things.

² For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.

⁵ You hypocrite, first remove the beam from your own eye; and then you shall see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

⁷ You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying,

¹⁴ Let them alone: they are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for you do not go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

²⁸ Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

⁴² Or how can you say to your brother, Brother, let me pull out the speck that is in your eye, when you do not even see the beam that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the beam out of your own eye, and then you shall see clearly to pull out the speck that is in your brother's eye.

¹ In the meantime, when a great crowd of people had gathered, so that they trod upon each other, he began to say first to his disciples, Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

⁵ And answered them, saying, If one of you has a son or an ox fall into a pit on the sabbath day, which of you will not immediately pull him out?

²¹ Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and you all marvel. ²² Moses gave you circumcision; (though it is not from Moses, but from the fathers;) and on the sabbath day you circumcise a man. ²³ If a man may receive circumcision on the sabbath day, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are you angry at me, because I have made an entire man well on the sabbath day? ²⁴ Do not judge according to appearance, but judge righteously.

²⁰ But Peter said to him, Your silver perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. ²¹ You have no part or portion in this matter: for your heart is not right in the sight of God. ²² Therefore, repent of this wickedness, and pray to God, that perhaps the intent of your heart may be forgiven you. ²³ For I perceive that you are full of bitterness, and in the bondage of iniquity.

⁹ Then Saul, (who is also called Paul,) filled with the Holy Spirit, set his eyes upon him, ¹⁰ And said, You who are full of all deceit and all villainy, you child of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to him, Begone, Satan: for it is written, You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.

²⁷ And he said to them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

⁸ Bring forth fruit worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, We have Abraham as our father: for I say to you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones.

⁹ And Jesus said to him, This day salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.

⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature: for he is a liar, and the father of lies.

²⁶ Brethren, sons of the stock of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to us has been sent the word of this salvation.

¹² And the father of the circumcised who are not merely circumcised, but who also walk in the steps of the faith that our father Abraham had while he was yet uncircumcised. ¹³ For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not given to Abraham, or to his descendants, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. ¹⁴ For if those who are of the law are heirs, then faith is made void, and the promise is made invalid: ¹⁵ Because the law brings wrath: but where there is no law, there is no transgression. ¹⁶ Therefore it is by faith, that it might be by grace; so that the promise might be certain to all his descendants; not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

²⁶ And that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.

⁶ And they could not answer these things.

³⁷ And as he was coming near, at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; ³⁸ Saying, Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. ³⁹ And some of the Pharisees in the multitude said to him, Teacher, rebuke your disciples. ⁴⁰ And he answered and said to them, I tell you that if they should hold their peace, the very stones would cry out.

⁴⁸ But could not find what they might do: for all the people hung upon his words.

⁴⁰ And after that they dared not ask him any more questions.

¹⁷ Now the people who were with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, kept bearing witness. ¹⁸ For this cause also the people went out to meet him, because they heard that he had done this miraculous sign.

⁹ And all the people saw him walking and praising God: ¹⁰ And they knew that it was the one who sat begging for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened to him. ¹¹ And as he clung to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly amazed.

²¹ So when they had threatened them further, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people: for everyone glorified God for what had been done.

⁹ But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be made clear to all, as was that of those two.

¹⁶ Keeping a good conscience, so that when you are falsely accused, those who revile your good behaviour in Christ may be ashamed.

²⁴ He put forth another parable to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field:

³¹ He put forth another parable to them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: ³² It is the smallest of all seeds: but when it is fully grown, it is the largest of the garden plants, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.

²⁶ And he said, The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the ground;

³⁰ And he said, To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? or what parable shall we use for it? ³¹ It is like a grain of mustard seed, which is the smallest seed planted in the ground: ³² But when it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all garden herbs, and shoots out great branches; so that the birds of the air may nest under the shadow of it. ³³ And with many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it. ³⁴ And he did not speak to them without a parable: and when they were alone, he explained all things to his disciples.

³¹ And the Lord said, To what shall I compare the men of this generation? and what are they like?

²⁰ And again he said, To what shall I compare the kingdom of God?

²¹ Nor shall they say, Look, here it is! or, look there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

²⁰ And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief: for truly I say to you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Move from here to there; and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible for you.

³¹ It is like a grain of mustard seed, which is the smallest seed planted in the ground: ³² But when it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all garden herbs, and shoots out great branches; so that the birds of the air may nest under the shadow of it.

⁶ And the Lord said, If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, Be plucked up by the root, and be planted in the sea; and it would obey you.

⁴¹ Then those who received his word were baptized: and that same day there were added to their number about three thousand souls.

⁴ Yet many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

¹⁴ Simeon has declared how God first visited the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. ¹⁵ And with this the words of the prophets agree; as it is written, ¹⁶ After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will build again the ruins, and I will set it up: ¹⁷ That the rest of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, who are called by my name, ¹⁸ Says the Lord, who makes these things known from of old.

²⁰ And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said to him, You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are who believe; and they are all zealous for the law:

¹⁹ Through the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign forever and ever.

³³ He spoke another parable to them; The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.

¹⁴ But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into eternal life.

⁶ Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

⁶ Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Jesus Christ.

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all discernment; ¹⁰ That you may approve things that are excellent; that you may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ; ¹¹ Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are from Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

²³ Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. ²⁴ Faithful is he who calls you, who also will do it.

²¹ Therefore, lay aside all filthiness and the wickedness that is so abundant, and receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

³⁵ And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease.

⁶ And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went among the villages, teaching.

³² And they were on the way up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And again he took the twelve aside, and began to tell them the things that would happen to him, ³³ Saying, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: ³⁴ And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

⁴³ But he said to them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for I was sent for that purpose. ⁴⁴ And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.

⁵¹ And it came to pass, when the time had come for him to be taken up, he resolutely set his face to go to Jerusalem,

³⁸ How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power: how he went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him.

¹⁴ But small is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there are who find it.

²⁵ When his disciples heard this, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?

¹⁶ So the last shall be first, and the first last.

¹⁴ For many are called, but few are chosen.

³ And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, Tell us when these things shall be? and what shall be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age? ⁴ And Jesus answered them, Take heed that no man deceive you. ⁵ For many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and shall deceive many.

⁴ Tell us, when shall these things be? and what will be the sign that all these things are about to be fulfilled? ⁵ And Jesus said to them, Take heed lest any man deceive you:

¹³ And one of the company said to him, Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me. ¹⁴ And he said to him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? ¹⁵ And he said to them, Take heed, and beware of every form of greed: for a man's life does not consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.

⁷ And they asked him, saying, Teacher, when shall these things happen? and what sign will there be that these things are about to take place? ⁸ And he said, Take heed that you are not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am the Christ; and, the time draws near: do not go after them.

²¹ Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, Lord, what about this man? ²² Jesus said to him, If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? you follow me.

⁷ And he said to them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has fixed by his own authority. ⁸ But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you: and you shall be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the remotest part of the earth.

¹³ Enter in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there are who enter in by it: ¹⁴ But small is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads to life, and few there are who find it.

¹² And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

¹⁸ For John had said to Herod, It is not lawful for you to have your brother's wife. ¹⁹ Therefore Herodias had a grudge against him, and would have killed him; but she could not: ²⁰ For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just and holy man, and kept him safe; and when he heard him, he was perplexed, but he enjoyed listening to him.

³⁶ Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be strong and accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

²⁷ Do not labour for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of man shall give to you: for on him has God the Father set his seal.

³⁴ You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, there you cannot come.

²¹ Then Jesus said again to them, I go my way, and you shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: where I go, you cannot come.

³³ Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You shall seek me: and as I said to the Jews, so now I say to you: Where I go, you cannot come.

³¹ But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, has not fulfilled that law. ³² Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the stumbling stone; ³³ As it is written, Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone, a rock that will make them fall: but whoever believes in him shall never be put to shame.

³ For being ignorant of God's righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they have not submitted themselves to the righteousness of God.

²⁴ Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. ²⁵ And every man who competes is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown; but we an imperishable. ²⁶ Therefore, I do not run aimlessly; and I do not fight as one who beats the air: ²⁷ But I beat my body, and bring it into subjection: lest by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.

¹² Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence, but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. ¹³ For it is God who works in you both to will and to do his good pleasure.

²⁹ For this I labour, striving according to his power, which works mightily within me.

¹¹ Therefore, let us labour to enter that rest, lest any man fall by following their example of disobedience.

¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never fall:

²¹ Not every one who says to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. ²² Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name cast out devils? and in your name done many miracles? ²³ And then I will declare to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you who work iniquity.

¹⁰ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut. ¹¹ Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. ¹² But he answered and said, Truly I say to you, I do not know you.

⁴¹ Then he shall say to those on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

⁴⁶ And why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not do the things which I say?

²⁷ But he shall say, I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.

² (For he says, I have heard you at the acceptable time, and on the day of salvation I have helped you: behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

⁷ Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, Today if you hear his voice, ⁸ Do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness:

¹⁷ For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it with tears.

⁵ Holding to a form of godliness, but denying its power. From such men turn away.

¹⁶ They profess that they know God; but by their works they deny him; being detestable, and disobedient, and unfit for any good work.

¹² But he answered and said, Truly I say to you, I do not know you.

²⁵ When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open up to us; then he shall answer and say to you, I do not know where you are from:

³ But if any man loves God, he is known by him.

⁹ But now that you have come to know God, or rather, to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to those weak and beggarly principles, to which you again desire to be in bondage?

¹⁹ Nevertheless, the foundation of God stands firm, having this seal, The Lord knows those who are his. And, Let every one who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.

¹¹ And I say to you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall recline at table with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. ¹² But the sons of the kingdom shall be cast into the outer darkness: where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

⁴² And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

⁵⁰ And shall cast them into the furnace of fire, where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

⁵¹ And shall cut him apart, and assign him a place with the hypocrites: where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

³⁰ And cast the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

¹⁵ And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven; you shall be thrust down to Hades.

¹⁵ And when one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

²³ And in Hades he lift up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

⁴² And he said to Jesus, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom. ⁴³ And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, Today you shall be with me in paradise.

⁵ Which is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you suffer.

¹¹ For in this way an entrance shall be abundantly provided for you into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

⁸ But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and the vile, and murderers, and the sexually immoral, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and sulphur: which is the second death.

¹⁵ Outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and the sexually immoral, and murderers, and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

¹¹ And I say to you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall recline at table with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.

²⁷ And then he shall send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the remotest part of the earth to the remotest part of heaven.

²⁸ Therefore let it be known to you, that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it.

⁶ That is, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and sharers together of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel: ⁷ Of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given to me by the working of his power. ⁸ To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, was this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

⁶ Which has come to you. In all the world it brings forth fruit and grows, as it does also in you, since the day you heard of it, and understood the grace of God in truth:

²³ If you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you have heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven; and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

⁹ After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, from all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands; ¹⁰ And cried out with a loud voice, saying, Salvation belongs to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb.

³⁰ But many who are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.

²⁸ But what do you think? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work today in the vineyard. ²⁹ He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went. ³⁰ And he came to the second, and said the same. And he answered and said, I will, sir: but did not go. ³¹ Which of the two did the will of his father? They said to him, The first. Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, That the tax gatherers and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you.

³¹ But many who are first shall be last; and the last first.

¹ At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,

¹ Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, when Pontius Pilate was governor of Judaea, Herod tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,

¹⁴ And King Herod heard of it; (for his name was spread abroad). And some said that John the Baptist had risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works showed themselves forth in him.

²⁶ The king was exceedingly sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for the sake of those who sat with him, he would not refuse her. ²⁷ So immediately the king sent an executioner with orders that his head be brought. He went and beheaded him in the prison, ²⁸ And brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the girl: and she gave it to her mother.

¹⁹ But Herod the tetrarch, having been reproved by him because of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife, and because of all the evils which Herod had done, ²⁰ Added this to them all: he shut John up in prison.

⁷ Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was happening: and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had been raised from the dead; ⁸ And by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets had risen again. ⁹ And Herod said, I beheaded John: but who is this of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.

⁸ And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceedingly glad: for he had long wanted to see him, because he had heard many things about him; and he hoped to see a miracle done by him. ⁹ Then he questioned him at length; but he made no answer. ¹⁰ The chief priests and scribes stood and vehemently accused him. ¹¹ And Herod with his men of war treated him with contempt, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.

³² Jesus answered them, I have shown you many good works from my Father; for which of those works do you stone me?

⁸ His disciples said to him, Rabbi, the Jews were just recently seeking to stone you; and would you go there again? ⁹ Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. ¹⁰ But if a man walks in the night, he stumbles, because there is no light in him.

⁴ I have glorified you on the earth: I have finished the work which you gave me to do. ⁵ And now, O Father, glorify me together with you; with the glory which I had with you before the world was.

³⁰ When Jesus received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit.

¹⁰ For it was fitting that he, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.

⁹ And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation for all those who obey him;

²⁸ For the law appoints men, who are frail, to be high priests; but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son, who has been made perfect forever.

¹⁸ Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,

¹¹ And the multitudes said, This is Jesus, the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

⁵³ But they did not receive him, because his face was set to go to Jerusalem.

³⁴ Jesus said to them, My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to finish his work.

⁴ We must work the works of him who sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work.

⁹ Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

⁵⁴ Therefore Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews; but went away from there to a region near the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there he stayed with his disciples.

³⁵ Then Jesus said to them, Yet for a little while is the light with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you: for he who walks in darkness does not know where he goes.

²⁷ For those who live in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not recognize him nor understand the words of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, have fulfilled these by condemning him.

³⁵ And the tenants took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another. ³⁶ Again, he sent other servants, more than the first: and they did the same to them.

³ And sent forth his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast: but they would not come.

⁶ And the rest took his servants, and treated them spitefully, and killed them.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets, and stone those who are sent to you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not let me! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate. ³⁹ For I say to you, You shall not see me again, until you shall say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

²⁸ And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore his father came out, and pleaded with him.

⁴¹ And when he had come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, ⁴² Saying, If you, even you, had only known on this day, the things which make for peace! but now they are hidden from your eyes.

⁴⁴ And shall level you to the ground, and your children within you; and they shall not leave in you one stone upon another; because you did not know the time of your visitation.

²⁸ But Jesus, turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Just One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you; ¹⁵ And killed the Prince of life, whom God has raised from the dead. Of this we are witnesses.

⁵² Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? and they killed those who told beforehand of the coming of the Righteous One; whom you have now betrayed and murdered:

⁵⁹ And as they stoned Stephen he called upon God, saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.

¹ And Saul was consenting to his death. And on that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

²⁵ For this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, which is in bondage with her children. ²⁶ But the Jerusalem which is above is free, and she is our mother.

⁸ And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which figuratively is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

⁹ And the multitudes that went before, and that followed after, cried out, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

⁹ And those who went ahead, and those who followed, cried out, Hosanna; Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord: ¹⁰ Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David: Hosanna in the highest.

⁵ And as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and gifts, he said, ⁶ As for these things which you behold, the days will come, in which there shall not be one stone left upon another; every one of them shall be thrown down.

²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

³⁴ You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, there you cannot come. ³⁵ Then the Jews said among themselves, Where will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go to those dispersed among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? ³⁶ What manner of saying is this, You shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, there you cannot come?

²² Then the Jews said, Will he kill himself? because he said, Where I go, you cannot come. ²³ And he said to them, You are from below; I am from above: you are of this world; I am not of this world. ²⁴ Therefore I said to you, that you shall die in your sins: for if you do not believe that I am he, you shall die in your sins.

¹³ Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried out, Hosanna: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel.

³⁵ Then Jesus said to them, Yet for a little while is the light with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you: for he who walks in darkness does not know where he goes. ³⁶ While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be sons of light. These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and hid himself from them.

¹⁹ Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you shall see me: because I live, you also shall live. ²⁰ On that day you shall know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. ²¹ He who has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is who loves me: and he who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas, not Iscariot, said to him, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loves me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

¹³ And they set up false witnesses, who said, This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: ¹⁴ For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered to us.

⁹ That if you shall confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart man believes and is made righteous; and with the mouth confesses and is saved. ¹¹ For the scripture says, Whoever believes in him shall not be put to shame. ¹² For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord is Lord over all, bestowing his riches on all who call upon him. ¹³ For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. ¹⁴ But how shall they call upon him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? ¹⁵ And how shall they preach, unless they are sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things!

¹⁵ But even to this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their hearts. ¹⁶ But whenever a man shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. ¹⁷ Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. ¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled faces beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into that same image, from glory to glory, and this is from the Lord, the Spirit.
