1 And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
2 And, behold, there was a certain man in front of him who had dropsy.
3 And Jesus spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, asking, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
4 But they held their peace. And he took hold of him, and healed him, and let him go;
5 And answered them, saying, If one of you has a son or an ox fall into a pit on the sabbath day, which of you will not immediately pull him out?
6 And they could not answer these things.
7 And he told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honour; saying to them,
8 When you are invited by someone to a wedding, do not sit down at the place of honour; for one more distinguished than you may have been invited;
9 And he who invited both of you will come and say to you, Give this man your place; and with shame you will begin to take the lowest place.
10 But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place; that when he who invited you comes, he may say to you, Friend, go up higher: then you shall have honour in the presence of those who are at the table with you.
11 For whoever exalts himself shall be abased; and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.
12 Then he said to his host, When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers, your kinsmen, or your rich neighbours; lest they invite you in return, and you are repaid.
13 But when you have a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
14 And you shall be blessed; for they cannot repay you: but you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.
15 And when one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
16 Then he said to him, A certain man made a great banquet, and invited many:
17 And at the banquet time he sent his servant to say to those who were invited, Come; for everything is now ready.
18 And they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of land, and I must go and see it: Please excuse me.
19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out: Please excuse me.
20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
21 So the servant returned, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor, and the crippled, and the blind, and the lame.
22 And the servant said, Lord, it has been done as you have commanded, and yet there is still room.
23 And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and along the hedgerows, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 For I say to you, That none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.
25 And great multitudes went with him: and he turned, and said to them,
26 If anyone comes to me, and does not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yea, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
27 And whoever does not carry his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has sufficient money to finish it?
29 Lest perhaps, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all who behold it will begin to mock him,
30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, does not sit down first, and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
32 Or else, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation, and asks terms of peace.
33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has, cannot be my disciple.
34 Salt is good: but if it has lost its taste, how shall it be made salty again?
35 It is fit for neither the land or the manure pile; it is cast out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

31 On that day, let him who is upon the housetop, and his goods in the house, not come down to take them away: and likewise let not him who is in the field turn back.

14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one who exalts himself shall be abased; and he who humbles himself shall be exalted.

22 Now when Jesus heard this, he said to him, You still lack one thing: sell all that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.
24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!
Luke 18:28-30
28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed you.
29 And he said to them, Truly I say to you, There is no man who has left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,
30 Who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the world to come, life everlasting.

39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in him because of the words of the woman's testimony, He told me all that I ever did.
40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they begged him to stay with them: and he stayed there two days.
41 And many more believed because of his own word;
42 And they said to the woman, Now we believe, no longer because of your words: for now we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
John 5:29
29 And shall come forth; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgment.
John 5:40
40 Yet you will not come to me, that you might have life.
John 6:24-27
24 When the people saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they got into the small boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, when did you come here?
26 Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, You seek me, not because you saw the miraculous signs, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled.
27 Do not labour for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of man shall give to you: for on him has God the Father set his seal.
John 6:27-27
27 Do not labour for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of man shall give to you: for on him has God the Father set his seal.
28 Then they said to him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
29 Jesus answered and said to them, This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.
30 Therefore they said to him, What sign do you show then, that we may see, and believe you? what work do you perform?
31 Our fathers ate manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32 Then Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven; but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world.
34 Then they said to him, Lord, give us this bread always.
35 And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life: he who comes to me shall never hunger; and he who believes in me shall never thirst.
36 But I said to you, That you have seen me, and do not believe.
37 All those whom the Father gives me shall come to me; and he who comes to me I will by no means cast out.
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that of all he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up on the last day.
40 And this is the will of my Father, that every one who sees the Son, and believes in him, may have eternal life: and I will raise him up on the last day.
41 Then the Jews murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
42 And they said, Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he now says, I came down from heaven?
43 Jesus answered and said to them, Do not murmur among yourselves.
44 No man can come to me, unless the Father who sent me draws him: and I will raise him up on the last day.
45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore, every man who has heard, and has learned from the Father, comes to me.
46 Not that any man has seen the Father, except he who is from God; he has seen the Father.
47 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who believes has eternal life.
48 I am the bread of life.
49 Your fathers ate manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, that a man may eat of it and not die.
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
52 The Jews then argued among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?
53 Then Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you.
54 Whoever eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day.
55 For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He who eats my flesh, and drinks my blood, dwells in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father sent me, and I live by the Father: so he who eats me shall live because of me.
58 This is the bread which came down from heaven: not as the fathers ate manna, and died: he who eats this bread shall live forever.
59 These things he said in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

23 If a man may receive circumcision on the sabbath day, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are you angry at me, because I have made an entire man well on the sabbath day?

Acts 1:1-9
1 In my former treatise, O Theophilus, I wrote of all that Jesus began to do and teach,
2 Until the day he was taken up, after he had, through the Holy Spirit, given commands to the apostles whom he had chosen.
3 To them he showed himself alive after his suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them over forty days, and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God:
4 And, while eating with them, commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, of which, he said, you have heard me speak.
5 For John baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.
6 When they had come together, they asked him, saying, Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said to them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father has fixed by his own authority.
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you: and you shall be witnesses to me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and to the remotest part of the earth.
9 And when he had spoken these things, while they watched, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Acts 2:38-39
38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 For the promise is for you, and for your children, and for all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Acts 2:44-45
Acts 3:24-26
24 Yea, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who followed after, as many as have spoken, have foretold these days.
25 You are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, And in your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
26 God, having raised up his servant, sent him first to bless you, by turning every one of you away from your iniquities.

1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a piece of property,
2 And, with his wife's knowledge, kept back part of the price, and brought a certain part of it, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 While it was unsold, was it not your own? and even after it was sold, was not the money in your own power? why have you conceived this deed in your heart? you have not lied to men, but to God.
5 On hearing these words Ananias fell down and died: and great fear came on all those who heard these things.
Acts 5:34
34 But then there stood up in the council a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, who had a good reputation among all the people, and he commanded that the apostles be put outside for a while;

19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.
20 But Peter said to him, Your silver perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
21 You have no part or portion in this matter: for your heart is not right in the sight of God.
22 Therefore, repent of this wickedness, and pray to God, that perhaps the intent of your heart may be forgiven you.

Acts 10:44-48
44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word.
45 And those of the circumcision who believed, as many as came with Peter, were astonished because the gift of the Holy Spirit was also poured out upon the Gentiles.
46 For they heard them speaking with tongues, and magnifying God. Then Peter said,
47 Can anyone forbid water for these to be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to remain for a few days.

47 For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, I have set you to be a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the ends of the earth.
48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were appointed for eternal life believed.

26 Saying, Go to this people, and say, You shall keep hearing, and shall not understand; and keep seeing, but not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people has grown calloused, and with their ears they barely hear, and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn, that I should heal them.
28 Therefore let it be known to you, that the salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it.

12 Now if any man builds upon this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw;
13 Each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall test the quality of every man's work.
14 If any man's work remains, which he has built upon it, he shall receive a reward.
1 Corinthians 7:29-31
29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: from now on let those who have wives be as though they had none;
30 And those who weep, as though they did not weep; and those who rejoice, as though they did not rejoice; and those who buy, as though they did not possess;
31 And those who use this world, as though not engrossed in it: for the form of this world passes away.

20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win the Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law;
21 To those who are without the law, as without the law, (though I am not without the law of God, but am under the law of Christ,) that I might win those who are without the law.

11 Therefore remember, that in times past you Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by those who are called the Circumcision, (that which is performed in the flesh by hands;)
12 That at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the wall of hostility between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, the law of commandments and ordinances; to create in himself one new man in place of two, thus making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both to God, in one body, through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off, and to those who were near.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
19 Now then, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and members of the household of God;
20 Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the cornerstone;
21 In whom the whole building is joined together and grows to become a holy temple in the Lord:

4 God also bearing witness, both with signs and wonders, and with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will.
5 For he did not put in subjection to the angels the world to come, of which we speak.
6 But in a certain place someone testified, saying, What is man, that you are mindful of him? or the son of man, that you care for him?
7 You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honour, and did set him over the works of your hands:
8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet. For in putting all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.
Hebrews 6:4-8
4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to be brought back again to repentance; for they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and hold him up to public disgrace.
7 For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes often upon it, and brings forth vegetation useful for those by whom it is farmed, receives a blessing from God:

17 Obey those who lead you, and submit to them: for they watch over your souls as those who must give account. Let it be a joyful task for them, not a sad one: for that would be unprofitable for you.
James 2:1-6
1 My brethren, do not hold your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.
2 For if there comes into your assembly a man with a gold ring, in fine apparel, and there also comes in a poor man in shabby clothing,
3 And you pay special attention to him who wears the fine clothing, and say to him, Sit here in a good place; and say to the poor man, Stand there, or sit here beside my footstool:
4 Have you not then discriminated among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
5 Listen, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?
James 2:5

James 4:6-10
6 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
7 Therefore, submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 Be miserable, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
James 4:10-10
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
1 Peter 5:5
5 Likewise, you who are younger, submit yourselves to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another: for God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
2 Peter 1:13-14
2 Peter 2:19-22
19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the slaves of depravity: for by that which a man is overcome, to that he is enslaved.
20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled by them, and overcome, they are worse off in the end than at the beginning.
21 For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.
22 But it has happened to them according to the true proverb, The dog returns to its own vomit; and the sow that is washed returns to wallowing in the mire.
1 John 2:2
2 And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will eat with him, and he with me.
Revelation 7:4-9
4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed: and there were sealed a hundred and forty-four thousand from all the tribes of the sons of Israel.

Revelation 15:1-8
1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for with them the wrath of God is completed.
2 And I saw, as it were, a sea of glass mingled with fire: and those who had won the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, standing on the sea of glass, holding the harps of God.
3 And they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, O King of the ages.
4 Who shall not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name? for you alone are holy: all nations shall come and worship before you; for your righteous acts have been revealed.
5 And after that I looked, and the temple of the tabernacle of testimony in heaven was opened:
6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.
7 And one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God, who lives forever and ever.
8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter the temple, until the seven plagues of the seven angels were ended.

5 But the rest of the dead did not come to life again until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him who hears say, Come. And let him who is thirsty come. And whoever will, let him take the water of life without cost.
