¹ Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

⁵⁵ And many women were there, beholding from afar. They had followed Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him. ⁵⁶ Among them was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

¹ At the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. ² And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. ³ His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow: ⁴ And for fear of him the guards shook, and became as dead men. ⁵ And the angel said to the women, Fear not: for I know that you seek Jesus, who was crucified. ⁶ He is not here: for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. ⁷ And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead; and, behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there you shall see him: lo, I have told you. ⁸ And they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy; and ran to bring his disciples word.

⁴⁰ There were also women looking on from afar: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

¹ And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought sweet spices, that they might go and anoint him. ² And very early in the morning of the first day of the week, they came to the tomb at the rising of the sun. ³ And they said to one another, Who shall roll the stone away from the door of the tomb for us? ⁴ And when they looked, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled away. ⁵ And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were amazed. ⁶ And he said to them, Do not be afraid: You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he has risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him. ⁷ But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goes before you into Galilee: there you shall see him, as he told you. ⁸ And they went out quickly, and fled from the tomb; for they were trembling and amazed: and they said nothing to anyone; for they were afraid. ² Along with certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary of Magdala, out of whom seven devils had gone out, ³ And Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who helped support them out of their own means.

⁵⁵ Now the women who came with him from Galilee, followed behind, and beheld the tomb, and how his body was laid. ⁵⁶ Then they returned, and prepared spices and ointments; and rested on the sabbath day according to the commandment.

¹⁰ They were Mary of Magdala, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women with them, who told these things to the apostles.

¹ The first day of the week Mary Magdalene came early, when it was yet dark, to the tomb, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb. ² Then she ran, and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.
