⁶ He is not here, but has risen: remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee,

⁴⁰ For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

²¹ From that time forth Jesus began to show to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised on the third day.

²² And when they came together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: ²³ And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceedingly sorry.

¹⁸ Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, ¹⁹ And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and on the third day he shall be raised up.

⁶³ Saying, Sir, we remember that while he was yet alive that deceiver said, After three days I will rise again.

⁶ He is not here: for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.

³¹ And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, and by the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

⁹ And as they came down from the mountain, he commanded them that they should tell no man the things they had seen, until the Son of man should have risen from the dead. ¹⁰ And they kept that saying to themselves, questioning one with another what rising from the dead might mean.

³⁰ And they departed from there, and passed through Galilee; and he would not have any man know about it, ³¹ For he taught his disciples, and said to them, The Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after he is killed, he shall rise on the third day. ³² But they did not understood that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

³³ Saying, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered to the chief priests, and to the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles: ³⁴ And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

²² Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised on the third day.

⁴⁴ Let these words sink down into your ears: the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.

³¹ Then he took the twelve aside, and said to them, Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. ³² For he shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully treated, and spit upon: ³³ And they shall flog him, and put him to death: and on the third day he shall rise again.

⁴⁴ He said to them, These are the words which I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled which are written about me in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms. ⁴⁵ Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the scriptures, ⁴⁶ And said to them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day:
