¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

¹⁹ When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes, and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is the seed that was sown by the wayside.

²⁵ Therefore, putting away lying, let every man speak the truth with his neighbour: for we are members of one another.

⁹ Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds;

⁶ Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.

³ But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil.

¹² But above all things, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven, or by the earth, or with any other oath: but let your yes be yes; and your no, no; lest you fall into condemnation.

¹³ I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father.

¹² Do not be like Cain, who was of the wicked one, and killed his brother. And why did he kill him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's were righteous.

¹⁸ We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who was begotten of God keeps him, and the wicked one does not touch him.
