If you will not awaken, I will come like a thief, and you shall not know at what hour I will come upon you. ⁴ Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. ⁵ He who overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white garments; and I will not blot his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. ⁶ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. ⁷ And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These are the words of he who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens, and no man shuts; and shuts, and no man opens; ⁸ I know your works: behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it: I know you have but little strength, yet you have kept my word, and have not denied my name. ⁹ Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, and are not, but lie; behold, I will make them to come and bow down before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. ¹⁰ Because you have kept my word to patiently endure, I will keep you from the hour of trial, which shall come upon all the world, to test those who live upon the earth. ¹¹ Behold, I come quickly: hold fast to that which you have, that no man may take your crown. ¹² He who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall never go out of it: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God: and I will also write upon him my new name. ¹³ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. ¹⁴ And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; ¹⁵ I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot: I wish that you were either cold or hot. ¹⁶ So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth. ¹⁷ For you say, I am rich, and have grown wealthy, and have need of nothing; but you do not know that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. ¹⁸ I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white clothing, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness may not appear; and salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see. ¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: therefore be zealous, and repent. ²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will eat with him, and he with me. ²¹ To him who overcomes I will grant the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame, and sat down with my Father on his throne. ²² He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

²⁴ For this son of mine was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

³² But we had to make merry, and be glad: for this brother of yours was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

¹⁶ And of his fulness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

³³ And I did not know him: but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me, He upon whom you see the Spirit descend and remain, this is he who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.

³⁴ For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives the Spirit without measure.

³⁷ On the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, If any man thirst, let him come to me, and drink. ³⁸ He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his innermost being shall flow rivers of living water. ³⁹ (But this he spoke of the Spirit, which those who believe in him were to receive: for the Holy Spirit had not yet been given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

²⁶ But when the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me: ²⁷ And you also shall bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.

²² And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit:

³³ Therefore, being exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured forth this, which you now see and hear.

¹ And you were dead in trespasses and sins;

⁵ Even when we were dead in transgressions, has made us alive together with Christ, (by grace you are saved;)

¹³ And you, being dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, he has made alive together with him, having forgiven us all transgressions;

⁶ But she who lives in self-indulgence is dead while she lives.

²⁶ For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead.

¹¹ Seeking to find to whom and when the Spirit of Christ within them was pointing, when he testified beforehand of the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow. ¹² These men are blemishes at your feasts of love, when they eat with you without fear: clouds without water, carried about by the winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

⁴ John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be to you, and peace, from him who is, and who was, and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne;

¹¹ Saying, What you see, write in a book, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamum, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.

¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword: and his face was like the sun shining at full strength.

²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands, is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

⁹ I know your tribulation and your poverty, (but you are rich) and the slander of those who say they are Jews, and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

¹³ I know where you dwell, where Satan's throne is: and that you hold fast to my name, and have not denied my faith, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was slain among you, where Satan dwells.

¹⁹ I know your works, and your love, and faith, and service, and perseverance, and that your recent works are greater than those you did at first.

⁵ And out of the throne came flashes of lightning and peals of thunder: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.

⁶ And then I beheld between the throne and the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing as if it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

² Therefore, when you give alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have praise from men. Truly I say to you, They have received their reward. ³ But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing: ⁴ That your alms may be in secret: and your Father who sees in secret shall reward you.

⁵ But all their works they do to be seen by men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

²⁸ Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. ²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you build the tombs of the prophets, and adorn the sepulchres of the righteous, ³⁰ And say, If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. ³¹ Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves, that you are the sons of those who killed the prophets. ³² Fill up, then, the measure of the sins of your fathers. ³³ You serpents, you generation of vipers, how can you escape being condemned to hell? ³⁴ Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them you shall kill and crucify; and some of them you shall scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city: ³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berachiah, whom you killed between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Truly I say to you, All these things shall come upon this generation. ³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets, and stone those who are sent to you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not let me! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

⁴² Therefore watch: for you do not know on what day your Lord will come. ⁴³ But know this, that if the owner of the house had known at what time the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. ⁴⁴ Therefore you must also be ready: for the Son of man will come at an hour you do not expect. ⁴⁵ Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? ⁴⁶ Blessed is that servant, whom his lord shall find so doing when he comes. ⁴⁷ Truly I say to you, That he shall put him in charge of all his goods. ⁴⁸ But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delays his coming; ⁴⁹ And shall begin to strike his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; ⁵⁰ The lord of that servant shall come on a day when he does not expect him, and at a hour that he is not aware of, ⁵¹ And shall cut him apart, and assign him a place with the hypocrites: where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

¹³ Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

³³ Take heed, watch and pray: for you do not know when the time will come. ³⁴ It is like a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to each man his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. ³⁵ Watch therefore: for you do not know when the master of the house comes, at evening, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: ³⁶ Lest he come suddenly and find you sleeping. ³⁷ And what I say to you I say to all, Watch.

³¹ And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to have you, that he might sift you as wheat: ³² But I have prayed for you, that your faith will not fail: and when you have turned back, strengthen your brethren.

²³ And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went throughout the region of Galatia and on through Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples.

²⁸ Take heed for yourselves, and for all the flock, over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood. ²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. ³⁰ And from among your own selves men shall arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. ³¹ Therefore watch, and remember, that for three years I did not cease to warn every one night and day with tears.

¹ I solemnly charge you before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom; ² Preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all patience and instruction. ³ For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having itching ears, they shall gather up teachers for themselves to suit their own desires; ⁴ And they shall turn their ears away from the truth, and shall turn aside to myths.

⁷ But the end of all things is at hand: therefore be of sound mind and sober judgement for prayer.

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, like a roaring lion, walks about, seeking someone he may devour.

⁴ Yet I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

¹⁵ Behold, I come like a thief. Blessed is he who stays awake, and keeps his garments with him, lest he walk naked and ashamed for all to see.

² For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night.

⁴ But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that this day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ You are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as others do; but let us watch and be sober.

²⁰ O Timothy, guard that which has been entrusted to you. Avoid godless chatter and the contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge:

¹³ Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

¹ Therefore, we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should slip away.

¹³ Yea, I think it right, as long as I am in this tent of my body, to stir you up way of reminder;

¹ This is now the second letter, beloved, that I have written to you, in which I stir up your sincere minds by way of remembrance:

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief; in which the heavens shall pass away with a roar, and the elements shall be destroyed with fervent heat, the earth and the works that are upon it shall be burned up.

⁵ Remember the height from which you have fallen, and repent, and do the works you did at first; or else I will come to you, and will remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.

²¹ And I gave her time to repent; but she refuses to repent of her immorality. ²² Behold, I will cast her upon a bed of anguish, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.

²⁵ Only that you hold fast to what you have, until I come.

¹¹ Behold, I come quickly: hold fast to that which you have, that no man may take your crown.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: therefore be zealous, and repent.

¹¹ And into whatever city or village you shall enter, inquire who in it is worthy; and abide there until you depart.

⁵ And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were amazed.

³⁵ But those who shall be accounted worthy to obtain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

³⁶ Watch therefore, and pray always, that you may be strong and accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

¹⁵ In those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (together they were about a hundred and twenty,)

⁴ But what is the answer God gives to him? I have kept for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal. ⁵ Even so, at this present time, there is a remnant, chosen by grace. ⁶ And if by grace, then it is no longer by works: otherwise grace is no longer grace.

⁵ Which is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you suffer.

²³ Save others, pulling them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.

⁵ He who overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white garments; and I will not blot his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

¹⁸ I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white clothing, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness may not appear; and salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.

⁴ And surrounding the throne were twenty-four thrones: and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments; and upon their heads they had crowns of gold.

¹¹ And white robes were given to every one of them; and it was said to them, that they should rest yet for a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, should be completed.

⁹ After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, from all nations, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands;

¹³ And one of the elders addressed me, saying, Who are these who are arrayed in white robes? and from where did they come? ¹⁴ And I said to him, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹³ And that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain seven thousand men: and the remnant were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

⁸ And it was granted to her to be clothed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

¹⁴ And the armies of heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

³² Whoever shall confess me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.

⁸ And I say to you, Whoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

³ And I ask you also, true yokefellow, help these women, for they have laboured with me in the gospel, together with Clement, and the rest of my fellow labourers, whose names are in the book of life.

²⁴ Now to him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless in the presence of his glory with exceedingly great joy,

⁷ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; To him who overcomes I will give the right to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

⁴ Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

⁸ And all who live upon the earth shall worship him, every one whose name is not written in the book of life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.

⁸ The beast that you saw was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go to perdition: and those who live on the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, shall marvel when they behold the beast, because he was, and is not, and is to come.

¹² And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged by those things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.

¹⁵ And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

²⁷ But nothing impure shall enter into it, nor shall any man who commits shameful acts, or who lies: but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

¹⁹ And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part in the tree of life, and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

¹⁹ And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

²⁴ Saying, What have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.

³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High: and the Lord God shall give to him the throne of his father David:

³⁴ Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are; the Holy One of God.

⁶ Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Just One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you;

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding, that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

⁵ And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, and the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and freed us from our sins by his own blood,

¹⁸ The one who lives; I was dead, and, behold, I am alive forevermore, and possess the keys of death and of Hades.

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying, You are worthy to take the scroll, and to break its seals: for you were slain, and by your blood have purchased men for God out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation;

¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, must it be before you judge those who live on the earth, and avenge our blood?

³ And they sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, O King of the ages.

⁷ And I heard the altar say, Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments.

² For true and righteous are his judgments: for he has judged the great harlot, who corrupted the earth with her adulteries, and has avenged on her the blood of his servants.

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse; and he who sat upon it was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war.

⁵ And he who sits upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said to me, Write: for these words are faithful and true.

⁷⁰ But he denied it before them all, saying, I know not what your are saying. ⁷¹ And when he went out to the porch, another maid saw him, and said to those who were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth. ⁷² And again he denied it with an oath, I do not know the man.

⁹ But he who denies me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

²¹ He who has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is who loves me: and he who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas, not Iscariot, said to him, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loves me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him. ²⁴ He who does not love me does not keep my words: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also.

⁶ I have manifested your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world: yours they were, and you gave them to me; and they have kept your word.

¹³ The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to let him go. ¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Just One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you;

²⁷ And when they had come, and had gathered the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

⁹ For a wide door for effectual work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

¹² Now, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, a door was opened for me by the Lord,

⁸ I begged the Lord thrice, that this might depart from me. ⁹ And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, most gladly will I boast in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore, for Christ's sake, I take pleasure in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in distresses: for when I am weak, then I am strong.

¹³ I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

³ And pray also for us, that God would open for us a door for the word, that we may speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in prison:

⁸ But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

⁷ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

²² Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son. ²³ Whoever denies the Son, does not have the Father: he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

⁴ For certain men have crept in secretly, who were long ago ordained for this condemnation; ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into licentiousness, and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

² I know your works, and your labour, and your patience, and how you cannot bear those who are evil, and how you have tested those who say they are apostles, and are not, and have found them to be liars;

³⁷ But Paul said to them, They have beaten us openly, uncondemned, men who are Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they send us away secretly? no indeed; let them come themselves and fetch us out. ³⁸ And the officers told these words to the magistrates: and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans. ³⁹ And they came to appease them, and brought them out, and asked them to depart from the city.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

¹⁴ And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations; and then the end shall come.

⁴¹ Watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation: the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

⁹ Truly I say to you, Wherever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, what she has done shall be spoken of in remembrance of her.

¹ And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

¹³ No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to endure; but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

¹³ Therefore, take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand on the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

¹² Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olives? or a vine bear figs? Neither can a salt spring yield fresh water.

¹² Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial which comes upon you to test you, as though some strange thing was happened to you:

⁹ Then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust under punishment until the day of judgment:

⁹ I, John, your brother and companion in the tribulation, and kingdom, and endurance which are ours in Jesus, was on the island that is called Patmos, because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

¹⁰ Do not fear any of those things which you shall suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tested; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be faithful to death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹³ And I beheld, and heard an eagle flying through mid-heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the blasts of the trumpets by the other three angels, which are about to sound!

¹⁰ And those who live upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts to one another; because these two prophets tormented those who dwell upon the earth.

¹⁰ He who is to go into captivity shall go into captivity: he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

¹⁴ And deceives those who live on the earth by the miracles which he had the power to do in the sight of the beast; bidding those who live on the earth to make an image in honour of the beast, who was wounded by the sword, and yet lived.

¹² Here is the endurance of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.

²⁵ And every man who competes is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown; but we an imperishable.

⁵ Let your forbearing spirit be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

⁵ And if anyone competes as an athlete, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

⁸ Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day: and not only to me, but also to all those who have longed for his appearing.

¹² Blessed is the man who endures trial: for when he has stood the test, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.

⁹ Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door.

³ Not being lords over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that does not fade away.

³ Blessed is he who reads, and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and heed those things which are written in it: for the time is at hand.

³ Therefore, remember what you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If you will not awaken, I will come like a thief, and you shall not know at what hour I will come upon you.

¹⁰ The twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,

¹² Behold, I am coming quickly; and my reward is with me, to give to every man according to what he has done.

²⁰ He who testifies to these things says, Surely I am coming quickly. Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.

⁹ And when James, Cephas, and John, who were reputed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship; that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised.

²⁶ But the Jerusalem which is above is free, and she is our mother. ²⁷ For it is written, Rejoice, you who are barren and bear no children; break forth and shout, you who are not in the pangs of birth: for the desolate woman has many more children than she who has a husband.

¹⁵ From whom every family in heaven and earth is named,

²² But you have come to mount Zion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,

¹³ I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, because you have known the Father. ¹⁴ I have written to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.

⁴ You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he who is in you, than he who is in the world.

¹⁷ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches; To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written, which no man knows except him who receives it.

¹ And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand, who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.

¹⁴ They shall make war against the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and those who are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

² And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, ¹¹ Having the glory of God: and her radiance was like a stone most precious, like a jasper, clear as crystal. ¹² It had a great and high wall, and twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and on the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel. ¹³ On the east were three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. ¹⁵ And he who spoke to me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, and its gates, and its wall. ¹⁶ And the city was laid out in a square, its length equal to its breadth: and he measured the city with the rod, twelve thousand stadia. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal. ¹⁷ And he measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits, according to man's measurement, which the angel was using. ¹⁸ And the wall was made of jasper: and the city of pure gold, like clear glass. ¹⁹ And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald; ²⁰ The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst. ²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each gate made of a single pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. ²² And I saw no temple in it: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. ²³ And the city had no need of the sun, or the moon, to shine upon it: for the glory of God is its light, and the Lamb its lamp. ²⁴ And the nations shall walk by its light: and the kings of the earth shall bring their glory into it. ²⁵ And its gates shall never be shut by day: and there shall be no night there. ²⁶ And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. ²⁷ But nothing impure shall enter into it, nor shall any man who commits shameful acts, or who lies: but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

⁴ And they shall see his face; and his name shall be upon their foreheads.

²⁰ For as many as are the promises of God, in him they are yes. And so our Amen is through him, to the glory of God.

¹⁵ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation:

¹⁸ He is also the head of the body, the church: he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have preeminence.

¹ For I want you to know what a great struggle I have for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

¹⁶ And when this letter is read among you, have it also read to the church of the Laodiceans; and you, likewise, read the letter from Laodicea.

⁶ And he said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him who is thirsty, without cost, from the spring of the water of life.

⁶ And he said to me, These words are faithful and true: and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show to his servants the things which must shortly come to pass.

¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.

²⁴ No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

³⁷ He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

¹² And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall grow cold.

²⁷ And whoever does not carry his own cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. ²⁸ For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has sufficient money to finish it?

¹¹ Not lacking in zeal; aglow with the spirit; serving the Lord;

²² If any man does not love the Lord, let him be accursed. Our Lord, come.

²⁰ For I fear that when I come, I shall not find you as I wish, and you shall not find me to be as you wish; lest perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of wrath, rivalries, slander, gossip, conceit, disorder:

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and in all discernment;

³ We ought always to thank God for you, brethren, as is fitting, because your faith grows abundantly, and the love of every one of you for each other grows greater;

⁸ For a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

²² Since you have purified your souls by obeying the truth, so you have a sincere love of the brethren; love one another fervently from the heart.

³ Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

¹² But when Jesus heard that, he said to them, Those who are whole do not need a physician, but those who are sick.

⁵³ He has filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he has sent away empty.

²⁴ But woe to you who are rich! for you have received your comfort.

¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank you that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax gatherer. ¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

⁴⁰ And some of the Pharisees who were with him heard these words, and said to him, Are we blind also? ⁴¹ Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin: but now you say, We see; therefore your sin remains.

¹⁷ Behold, if you call yourself a Jew, and rely upon the law, and boast of your relationship with God, ¹⁸ And know his will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of the law; ¹⁹ And are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light for those who are in darkness, ²⁰ An instructor for the foolish, a teacher of infants, having the embodiment of knowledge and truth in the law: ²¹ You, therefore, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? you who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? ²² You who say a man should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? you who abhor idols, do you rob temples? ²³ You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonour God by breaking the law?

²⁴ O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from this body of death?

²⁰ That is true; because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand only by faith. Do not be conceited, but fear:

²⁵ Brethren, I would not have you be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits; that a hardening in part has happened to Israel, until the full number of Gentiles has come in.

³ For through the grace given to me, I say to every man among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according to the measure of faith God has given him.

⁸ Already you are full, already you are rich, you have become as kings without us: and I would that you had become kings, that we might also reign with you. ⁹ For I think that God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as if we were condemned to death: for we have become a spectacle to the world, to angels and to men. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honoured, but we are despised.

⁹ But he who lacks these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid again, then for joy went and sold all that he had, and bought that field.

⁹ But the wise answered, saying, No; lest there not be enough for us and you: but rather go to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.

²¹ So it is with him who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

⁶ When he had said this, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, ⁷ And said to him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which means, Sent.) He went his way, and washed, and came back seeing. ⁸ The neighbours, and those who had seen him before as a beggar, said, Is this not the one who sat and begged? ⁹ Some said, This is he: others said, No, but he is like him: but he said, I am the one. ¹⁰ Therefore they said to him, How were your eyes opened? ¹¹ He answered and said, A man who is called Jesus made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, Go to Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received my sight.

¹² Now if any man builds upon this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw; ¹³ Each man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall test the quality of every man's work.

³ So that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that through his poverty you might become rich.

¹⁸ They are to do good, that they may be rich in good works, generous and willing to share;

⁵ Listen, my beloved brethren, Has not God chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him?

⁷ That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold, which perishes, though it is tested by fire, might be found to result in praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

²⁰ But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know the truth. ²¹ I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth. ²² Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is the antichrist, who denies the Father and the Son. ²³ Whoever denies the Son, does not have the Father: he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. ²⁴ As for you, let that abide in you which you have heard from the beginning. If that which you have heard from the beginning shall abide in you, you shall also abide in the Son, and in the Father. ²⁵ And this is the promise which he himself has given us: eternal life. ²⁶ These things I have written to you concerning those who would deceive you. ²⁷ But the anointing which you have received from him abides in you, and you do not need any man to teach you: but his anointing teaches you all things, and is true, and is no lie, and just as it has taught you, abide in him.

⁴ Yet you have a few people in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. ⁵ He who overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white garments; and I will not blot his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

¹⁷ For you say, I am rich, and have grown wealthy, and have need of nothing; but you do not know that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.

¹³ And one of the elders addressed me, saying, Who are these who are arrayed in white robes? and from where did they come?

¹⁷ And his disciples remembered that it was written, Zeal for your house will consume me.

³² But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

⁹ As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, yet, behold, we live; as chastened, and yet not killed;

¹¹ For behold what earnestness this godly sorrow has produced in you, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what readiness to punish wrongdoing! In all things you have shown yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

¹⁸ But it is always good to be zealously sought after in a good way, and not only when I am present with you.

¹⁴ Who gave himself up for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people of his own, zealous for good works.

⁵ And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as sons, My son, do not think lightly of the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked by him: ⁶ For whom the Lord loves, he disciplines, and scourges every son whom he receives. ⁷ You must endure for discipline. God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? ⁸ But if you are left without discipline, of which all are partakers, then are you are illegitimate children, and not sons. ⁹ Furthermore, we have had earthly fathers who corrected us, and we gave them respect: shall we not much more be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live? ¹⁰ For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them; but he disciplines us for our good, that we might be partakers of his holiness. ¹¹ At the time, no discipline seems to be joyful, but painful: nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness for those who have been trained by it.

³³ So likewise, when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

³⁶ And be like men who wait for their lord to return from the wedding feast; that when he comes and knocks, they may open the door for him immediately. ³⁷ Blessed are those servants, whom the lord shall find watching when he comes: truly I say to you, that he shall dress himself to serve, and make them sit down at the table, and will come forth and serve them.

⁸ Will he not rather say to him, Make something for my supper, and gird yourself, and serve me until I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink?

²¹ He who has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is who loves me: and he who loves me shall be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas, not Iscariot, said to him, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, If a man loves me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

⁹ And he said to me, Write, Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he said to me, These are the true words of God.

²⁸ And Jesus said to them, Truly I say to you, At the renewal of all things, when the Son of man shall sit upon the throne of his glory, you who have followed me shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power has been given to me in heaven and on earth.

³⁰ That you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

²² For the Father judges no man, but has committed all judgment to the Son: ²³ That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He who does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who has sent him.

³³ These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

² Do you not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? ³ Do you not know that we shall judge angels? how much more, things that pertain to this life?

²⁰ Which he exerted in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, ²¹ Far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. ²² And he has put all things under his feet, and has appointed him to be the head over all things for the church, ²³ Which is his body, the fulness of him who fills all things everywhere.

⁹ Therefore, God has highly exalted him, and given him the name which is above every name: ¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth; ¹¹ And every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. ¹² Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only in my presence, but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. ¹³ For it is God who works in you both to will and to do his good pleasure. ¹⁴ Do all things without grumbling and disputing: ¹⁵ That you may be blameless and innocent, the children of God, without blemish, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world; ¹⁶ Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, nor laboured in vain. ¹⁷ Even if I am poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad, and rejoice with you all. ¹⁸ In the same way, you also should be glad, and rejoice with me. ¹⁹ But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I may also be of good cheer, when I receive news from you. ²⁰ For I have no man like him, of so kindred a spirit, who will genuinely care for your welfare. ²¹ For all seek after their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ's.

¹² If we endure, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he will deny us:

⁴ For everyone who is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. ⁵ Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

⁶ And has made us a kingdom, and priests to his God and Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

²⁶ And he who overcomes, and does my will to the end, to him I will give authority over the nations; ²⁷ And he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as when the vessels of a potter are broken to pieces: just as I received authority from my Father.

⁵ Then one of the elders said to me, Do not weep: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so he can open the scroll and its seven seals. ⁶ And then I beheld between the throne and the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing as if it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. ⁷ And he came and took the scroll out of the right hand of him who sat upon the throne. ⁸ And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb; each one had a harp, and they had golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

² And I saw, and behold, a white horse: and he who sat upon it had a bow; and a crown was given to him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

¹⁷ For the Lamb who is at the center of the throne shall be their shepherd, and shall lead them to the springs of the waters of life: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

¹¹ And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives to death.

⁴ And I saw thrones, on which were seated those to whom judgment had been given: and I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness for Jesus, and for the word of God, and who had not worshipped the beast, nor his image, nor had they received his mark upon their foreheads, or on their hands; and they lived again and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
