¹ SINCE, then, Christ suffered in the flesh, you also must arm yourselves with the same mind. For he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin,

² Never. How shall we who died to sin still live in it?

⁷ For one who has died has been pronounced righteous and free from sin.

¹¹ So you must think yourselves dead to sin, but living to God in Christ Jesus.

¹² The night is far spent, the day draws near. Let us put away the deeds of darkness, let us put on the weapons of light. ¹³ Let us live becomingly as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in sensuality and licentiousness, not in quarrelling and jealousy. ¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for gratifying physical passions.

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ. I am living, yet no longer I, but Christ is living in me. The life that I am now living in flesh I am living by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

¹³ Therefore take the complete armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and, after going through everything, to stand.
