²⁸ saying, We charged you strictly not to teach in this name, and behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and wish to bring this man's blood on us.

⁵² Which of the prophets did not your fathers persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, of whom you now have become betrayers and murderers,

¹⁵ who also killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and persecuted us, and who please not God and are hostile to all men, ¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the gentiles that they may be saved, that they may fill up their sins always; and the wrath has come on them to the utmost.

²⁸ Any one who despised the law of Moses died without mercy by two or three witnesses; ²⁹ of how much greater punishment do you suppose he will be thought worthy, who has trodden down the Son of God, and accounted defiled the blood of the covenant with which he was purified, and treated injuriously the Spirit of grace. ³⁰ For we know him that said, Judgment belongs to me, I will repay. And again, The Lord will judge his people.
