⁷ And it shall be, when they say to you, 'Why do you sigh?' That you shall answer, 'For the tidings; because it comes: And every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak like water': Behold, it comes, and shall be brought to pass", said the Lord GOD.

¹⁵ Then the dukes of Edom shall be amazed; the mighty men of Moab, trembling shall take hold upon them; all the inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away.

³⁶ And on them that are left alive of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursues.

⁸ And the officers shall speak further to the people, and they shall say, "What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go and return to his house, lest his brethren's heart faint as well as his heart.

⁹ and she said to the men, I know that the LORD has given you the land, and that your terror is fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you. ¹⁰ For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when you came out of Egypt; and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. ¹¹ And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: For the LORD your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.

¹ And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.

¹⁰ And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: For all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.

¹² Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears shall tingle.

³ Behold, you have instructed many, and you have strengthened the weak hands. ⁴ Your words have upheld him that was falling, and you have strengthened the feeble knees.

² And it was told to the house of David, saying, "Syria is allied with Ephraim." And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.

⁷ Therefore all hands shall be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:

¹⁹ From the time that it goes forth it shall take you: For morning by morning it shall pass over, by day and by night: And it shall be a terror only to understand the report.

³ Strengthen the weak hands, and confirm the feeble knees.

²² Thus says the LORD, "Behold, a people comes from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth. ²³ They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roars like the sea; and they ride on horses, as men of war set in array against you, O daughter of Zion. ²⁴ We have heard the fame of it: Our hands wax feeble: Anguish has taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

¹⁸ When I would comfort myself against sorrow, my heart is faint in me.

²³ Concerning Damascus. Hamath is confounded, and Arpad: For they have heard evil tidings: They are fainthearted; there is sorrow on the sea; it cannot be quiet.

⁴³ The king of Babylon has heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: Anguish took hold of him, and pangs as of a woman in travail.

¹⁷ For this our heart is faint; for these things our eyes are dim.

² "Also you, son of man, thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel; 'An end! The end has come on the four corners of the land. ³ Now the end has come on you, and I will send My anger on you, and will judge you according to your ways, and will recompense upon you all your abominations. ⁴ And My eye shall not spare you, neither will I have pity: But I will recompense your ways upon you, and your abominations shall be in the midst of you: And you shall know that I am the LORD.' ⁵ Thus says the Lord GOD; 'Behold, an evil, a one of a kind evil, has come. ⁶ An end has come, the end has come: It watches for you; behold, it has come. ⁷ The morning has come to you, O you who dwell in the land: The time has come, the day of trouble is near, and not the joyful sounds of the mountains again. ⁸ Shortly now I will pour out My fury on you, and accomplish My anger upon you: And I will judge you according to your ways, and will recompense you for all your abominations. ⁹ And My eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: I will recompense you according to your ways and your abominations that are in the midst of you; and you shall know that I am the LORD who smites. ¹⁰ Behold the day, behold, it has come: The morning has gone forth; the rod has blossomed, pride has budded. ¹¹ Violence has risen up into a rod of wickedness: None of them shall remain, nor of their multitude, nor any of their abundance: Neither shall there be wailing for them. ¹² The time has come, the day draws near: Let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn: For wrath is upon all their multitude.

¹⁷ All hands shall be feeble, and all knees shall be weak like water.

²⁶ Mischief shall come upon mischief, and rumor shall be upon rumor; then they shall seek a vision of the prophet; but the law shall perish from the priest, and counsel from the elders.

⁹ "Son of man, has not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said to you, 'What are you doing?' ¹⁰ Say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel who are among them." ' ¹¹ Say, 'I am your sign: Like I have done, so shall it be done to them: They shall remove and go into captivity.'

²² "Son of man, what is that proverb that you have in the land of Israel, saying, 'The days are prolonged, and every vision fails?' ²³ Tell them therefore, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no longer use it as a proverb in Israel"; but say to them, "The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision. ²⁴ For there shall be no longer any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel. ²⁵ For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall not be prolonged any longer: For in your days, O rebellious house, I will say the word, and will perform it", said the Lord GOD. ²⁶ Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying. ²⁷ "Son of man, behold, those of the house of Israel say, 'The vision that he sees is for many days to come, and he prophesies of the times that are far off.' ²⁸ Therefore say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD; 'My words shall not be prolonged any longer, but the word which I have spoken shall be done", said the Lord GOD.' "

⁴⁹ Then I said, "Ah Lord GOD! They say of me, 'Does he not speak parables?' "

¹⁹ And the people said to me, "Will you not tell us what these things mean to us, that you do so?"

¹⁰ She is empty, and void, and wasted: And the heart melts, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.

²⁶ men's hearts failing them from fear, and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth: For the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

¹² Therefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

⁷ But the end of all things is at hand: Therefore be sober, and watchful with prayer.
