¹ Now these are the names of the tribes. From the north end to the border of the throughway of Hethlon, as one goes to Hamath, Hazarenan, the border of Damascus northward, to the border of Hamath; for these are his sides east and west; a portion for Dan. ² And by the border of Dan, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Asher. ³ And by the border of Asher, from the east side even to the west side, a portion for Naphtali. ⁴ And by the border of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Manasseh. ⁵ And by the border of Manasseh, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Ephraim. ⁶ And by the border of Ephraim, from the east side even to the west side, a portion for Reuben. ⁷ And by the border of Reuben, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Judah. ⁸ And by the border of Judah, from the east side to the west side, shall be the offering which you shall offer of twenty-five thousand reeds in width, and in length as one of the other parts, from the east side to the west side: And the sanctuary shall be in the middle of it. ⁹ The oblation that you shall offer to the LORD shall be of twenty-five thousand in length, and of ten thousand in width. ¹⁰ And for these, even for the priests, shall be this holy oblation; toward the north twenty-five thousand in length, and toward the west ten thousand in width, and toward the east ten thousand in width, and toward the south twenty-five thousand in length: And the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in the middle of it. ¹¹ It shall be for the priests that are sanctified of the sons of Zadok; which have kept My ordinances, which did not go astray when the children of Israel went astray, as the Levites went astray. ¹² And this oblation of the land that is offered shall be to them a most holy place by the border of the Levites. ¹³ And alongside the border of the priests the Levites shall have twenty-five thousand in length, and ten thousand in width: All the length shall be twenty-five thousand, and the breadth ten thousand. ¹⁴ And they shall not sell any of it, neither exchange, nor alienate the firstfruits of the land: For it is holy to the LORD. ¹⁵ And the five thousand, that are left in the breadth in front of the twenty-five thousand, shall be a profane place for the city, for dwelling, and for suburbs: And the city shall be in the middle of it. ¹⁶ And these shall be its measures; the north side four thousand and five hundred, and the south side four thousand and five hundred, and on the east side four thousand and five hundred, and the west side four thousand and five hundred. ¹⁷ And the suburbs of the city shall be toward the north two hundred and fifty, and toward the south two hundred and fifty, and toward the east two hundred and fifty, and toward the west two hundred and fifty. ¹⁸ And the residue in length adjacent to the oblation of the holy parcel shall be ten thousand eastward, and ten thousand westward: And it shall be adjacent to the oblation of the holy parcel; and its increase shall be for food to those that serve the city. ¹⁹ And those that serve the city shall serve it out of all the tribes of Israel. ²⁰ All the oblation shall be twenty-five thousand by twenty-five thousand: You shall offer the holy oblation foursquare, with the possession of the city. ²¹ And the residue shall be for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy oblation, and of the possession of the city, in front of the twenty-five thousand of the oblation toward the east border, and westward in front of the twenty-five thousand toward the west border, alongside the portions for the prince: And it shall be the holy oblation; and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the middle of it. ²² Moreover, from the possession of the Levites, and from the possession of the city, being in the midst of that which is the prince's, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin, shall be for the prince. ²³ As for the rest of the tribes, from the east side to the west side, Benjamin shall have a portion. ²⁴ And by the border of Benjamin, from the east side to the west side, Simeon shall have a portion. ²⁵ And by the border of Simeon, from the east side to the west side, Issachar a portion. ²⁶ And by the border of Issachar, from the east side to the west side, Zebulun a portion. ²⁷ And by the border of Zebulun, from the east side to the west side, Gad a portion. ²⁸ And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar to the waters of strife in Kadesh, and to the river toward the great sea. ²⁹ This is the land which you shall divide by lot to the tribes of Israel for inheritance, and these are their portions", says the Lord GOD. ³⁰ And these are the goings out of the city on the north side, four thousand and five hundred measures. ³¹ And the gates of the city shall be named after the tribes of Israel: Three gates northward; one gate of Reuben, one gate of Judah, one gate of Levi. ³² And at the east side four thousand and five hundred: And three gates; and one gate of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of Dan. ³³ And at the south side four thousand and five hundred measures: And three gates; one gate of Simeon, one gate of Issachar, one gate of Zebulun. ³⁴ At the west side four thousand and five hundred, with their three gates; one gate of Gad, one gate of Asher, one gate of Naphtali. ³⁵ It was eighteen thousand measures all around: And the name of the city from that day forward shall be, The LORD is there."The LORD is there; ⁴ And these were their names: Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur. ⁵ Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori. ⁶ Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. ⁷ Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph. ⁸ Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun. ⁹ Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu. ¹⁰ Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi. ¹¹ Of the tribe of Joseph, namely, of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi. ¹² Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli. ¹³ Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael. ¹⁴ Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi. ¹⁵ Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.

⁷ And this shall be your north border: From the great sea you shall point out for you Mount Hor: ⁸ From Mount Hor you shall point out your border to the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad: ⁹ And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: This shall be your north border.

⁴⁰ And the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families. ⁴¹ And the border of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Irshemesh, ⁴² and Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah, ⁴³ and Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron, ⁴⁴ and Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath, ⁴⁵ and Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gathrimmon, ⁴⁶ and Mejarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho. ⁴⁷ And the border of the children of Dan went out too little for them: Therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelled in it, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

²⁶ And the children of Dan went their way: And when Micah saw that they were too strong for him, he turned and went back to his house. ²⁷ And they took the things which Micah had made, and the priest which he had, and came to Laish, to a people that were at quiet and secure: And they smote them with the edge of the sword, and burned the city with fire. ²⁸ And there was no deliverer, because it was far from Zidon, and they had no business with any man; and it was in the valley that lies by Bethrehob. And they built a city, and dwelled in it. ²⁹ And they called the name of the city Dan, after the name of Dan their father, who was born to Israel: However, the name of the city was Laish at the first.

² For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which was with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and number you the people, that I may know the number of the people.

²⁸ Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold, and said to them, "It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: Behold your gods, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt. ²⁹ And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan.

¹⁵ And this shall be the border of the land toward the north side, from the great sea, the throughway of Hethlon, as men go to Zedad; ¹⁶ hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazarhatticon, which is by the border of Hauran. ¹⁷ And the border from the sea shall be Hazarenan, the border of Damascus, and the north northward, and the border of Hamath. And this is the north side.

²⁰ The west side shall also be the great sea from the border, until a man comes in front of Hamath. This is the west side.

¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? Is your eye evil because I am good?' ¹⁶ So the last shall be first, and the first last: For many are called, but few chosen.

⁴ And I heard the number of those which were sealed: And there were sealed one hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. ⁵ Of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed. Of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand were sealed. Of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed. ⁶ Of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed. Of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand were sealed. Of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand were sealed. ⁷ Of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand were sealed. Of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand were sealed. Of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand were sealed. ⁸ Of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand were sealed. Of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand were sealed. Of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed.

¹² And Zilpah Leah's maid bore Jacob a second son. ¹³ And Leah said, "I am happy, for the daughters will call me blessed": And she called his name Asher.Asher; that is, Happy

²⁴ And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families. ²⁵ And their border was Helkath, and Hali, and Beten, and Achshaph, ²⁶ and Alammelech, and Amad, and Misheal; and reaches to Carmel westward, and to Shihorlibnath; ²⁷ and turns toward the sun rise to Bethdagon, and reaches to Zebulun, and to the valley of Jiphthahel toward the north side of Bethemek, and Neiel, and goes out to Cabul on the left hand side, ²⁸ and Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even to great Zidon; ²⁹ and then the coast turns to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turns to Hosah; and its outgoings are at the sea from the coast to Achzib: ³⁰ Ummah also, and Aphek, and Rehob: Twenty and two cities with their villages. ³¹ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families, these cities with their villages.

⁷ And Bilhah Rachel's maid conceived again, and bore Jacob a second son. ⁸ And Rachel said, "With great wrestlings I have wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed": And she called his name Naphtali.Naphtali; that is, My wrestling

³² The sixth lot came out to the children of Naphtali, even for the children of Naphtali according to their families. ³³ And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, to Lakum; and its outgoings were at Jordan: ³⁴ And then the coast turns westward to Aznothtabor, and goes out from there to Hukkok, and reaches to Zebulun on the south side, and reaches to Asher on the west side, and to Judah on Jordan toward the sun rise. ³⁵ And the fenced cities are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth, ³⁶ and Adamah, and Ramah, and Hazor, ³⁷ and Kedesh, and Edrei, and Enhazor, ³⁸ and Iron, and Migdalel, Horem, and Bethanath, and Bethshemesh; nineteen cities with their villages. ³⁹ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Naphtali according to their families, the cities and their villages.

²² And God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her, and opened her womb. ²³ And she conceived, and bore a son; and said, "God has taken away my reproach": ²⁴ And she called his name Joseph; and said, "The LORD shall add to me another son."Joseph; that is, Adding

⁵¹ And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: "For God," he said, "has made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house."Manasseh; that is, Forgetting

⁵ And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came into Egypt to you, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.

¹⁴ And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn. ¹⁵ And he blessed Joseph, and said, "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God which fed me all my life long to this day, ¹⁶ the Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth." ¹⁷ And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: And he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head. ¹⁸ And Joseph said to his father, "Not so, my father: For this is the firstborn; put your right hand upon his head." ¹⁹ And his father refused, and said, "I know it, my son, I know it: He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: But truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations." ²⁰ And he blessed them that day, saying, "In you shall Israel bless, saying, 'God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh' ": And he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

²⁹ And Moses gave inheritance to the half tribe of Manasseh: And this was the possession of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families. ³⁰ And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, three score cities: ³¹ And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were pertaining to the children of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.

¹ There was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for he was the firstborn of Joseph; to wit, for Machir the firstborn of Manasseh, the father of Gilead: Because he was a man of war, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan. ² There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Helek, and for the children of Asriel, and for the children of Shechem, and for the children of Hepher, and for the children of Shemida: These were the male children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families. ³ But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters: And these are the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. ⁴ And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, "The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers. Therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brothers of their father. ⁵ And there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side of the Jordan; ⁶ because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: And the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead. ⁷ And the border of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lies before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand to the inhabitants of Entappuah. ⁸ Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: But Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim; ⁹ and the coast descended to the river Kanah, southward of the river: These cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: The border of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea: ¹⁰ Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east. ¹¹ And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Bethshean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.

¹ And the lot of the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, to the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goes up from Jericho throughout Mount Bethel, ² and goes out from Bethel to Luz, and passes along to the borders of Archi to Ataroth, ³ and goes down westward to the border of Japhleti, to the border of Bethhoron the nether, and to Gezer; and the goings out of it are at the sea. ⁴ So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance. ⁵ And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus: Even the border of their inheritance on the east side was Atarothaddar, to Bethhoron the upper; ⁶ and the border went out toward the sea to Michmethah on the north side; and the border went about eastward to Taanathshiloh, and passed by it on the east to Janohah; ⁷ and it went down from Janohah to Ataroth, and to Naarath, and came to Jericho, and went out at Jordan. ⁸ The border went out from Tappuah westward to the river Kanah; and the goings out of it were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families. ⁹ And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages. ¹⁰ And they drove not out the Canaanites that dwelled in Gezer: But the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day, and serve under tribute.

⁸ Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: But Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim; ⁹ and the coast descended to the river Kanah, southward of the river: These cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: The border of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea: ¹⁰ Southward it was Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met together in Asher on the north, and in Issachar on the east.

¹⁴ And the children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, "Why have you given me but one lot and one portion to inherit, seeing I am a great people, for as much as the LORD has blessed me till now? ¹⁵ And Joshua answered them, If you be a great people, then get you up to the wood country, and cut down for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if Mount Ephraim be too narrow for you. ¹⁶ And the children of Joseph said, "The hill is not enough for us: And all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel. ¹⁷ And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, "You are a great people, and have great power: You shall not have one lot only: ¹⁸ But the mountain shall be yours; for it is a wood, and you shall cut it down: And the outgoings of it shall be yours: For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.

³² And Leah conceived, and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben: For she said, "Surely the LORD has looked upon my affliction; therefore now my husband will love me."Reuben; that is, See a son

³ Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: ⁴ Unstable as water, you shall not excel; because you went up to your father's bed; then you defiled it: He went up to my couch.

¹⁵ And Moses gave to the tribe of the children of Reuben inheritance according to their families. ¹⁶ And their coast was from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the river, and all the plain by Medeba; ¹⁷ heshbon, and all her cities that are in the plain; Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and Bethbaalmeon, ¹⁸ and Jahaza, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath, ¹⁹ and Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zarethshahar in the mount of the valley, ²⁰ and Bethpeor, and Ashdothpisgah, and Bethjeshimoth, ²¹ and all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, which were dukes of Sihon, dwelling in the country.

³⁵ And she conceived again, and bore a son: And she said, "Now I will praise the LORD": Therefore she called his name Judah; and ceased bearing.Judah; that is, Praise

¹ This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast. ² And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looks southward: ³ And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side to Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa: ⁴ From there it passed toward Azmon, and went out to the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: This shall be your south coast. ⁵ And the east border was the salt sea, even to the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan: ⁶ And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben: ⁷ And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: And the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the goings out of it were at Enrogel: ⁸ And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: And the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward: ⁹ And the border was drawn from the top of the hill to the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of Mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim: ¹⁰ And the border compassed from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, and passed along to the side of Mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah: ¹¹ And the border went out to the side of Ekron northward: And the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to Mount Baalah, and went out to Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea. ¹² And the west border was to the great sea, and its coast. This is the border of the children of Judah all around according to their families. ¹³ And to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron. ¹⁴ And Caleb drove there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak. ¹⁵ And he went up there to the inhabitants of Debir: And the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher. ¹⁶ And Caleb said, "He that smites Kirjathsepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife. ¹⁷ And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: And he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife. ¹⁸ And it came to pass, as she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: And she lighted off her donkey; and Caleb said to her, "What would you? ¹⁹ Who answered, Give me a blessing; for you have given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs. ²⁰ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families. ²¹ And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur, ²² and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah, ²³ and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan, ²⁴ ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth, ²⁵ and Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor, ²⁶ amam, and Shema, and Moladah, ²⁷ and Hazargaddah, and Heshmon, and Bethpalet, ²⁸ and Hazarshual, and Beersheba, and Bizjothjah, ²⁹ baalah, and Iim, and Azem, ³⁰ and Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah, ³¹ and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah, ³² and Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: All the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages: ³³ And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah, ³⁴ and Zanoah, and Engannim, Tappuah, and Enam, ³⁵ jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah, ³⁶ and Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages: ³⁷ Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad, ³⁸ and Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel, ³⁹ lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon, ⁴⁰ and Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish, ⁴¹ and Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages: ⁴² Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan, ⁴³ and Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib, ⁴⁴ and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages: ⁴⁵ Ekron, with her towns and her villages: ⁴⁶ From Ekron even to the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages: ⁴⁷ Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, to the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and its border: ⁴⁸ And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh, ⁴⁹ and Dannah, and Kirjathsannah, which is Debir, ⁵⁰ and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim, ⁵¹ and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages: ⁵² Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean, ⁵³ and Janum, and Bethtappuah, and Aphekah, ⁵⁴ and Humtah, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages: ⁵⁵ Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah, ⁵⁶ and Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah, ⁵⁷ cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages: ⁵⁸ Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor, ⁵⁹ and Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages: ⁶⁰ Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages: ⁶¹ In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah, ⁶² and Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages. ⁶³ As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.

⁹ Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: For the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: Therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

⁶ Cry out and shout, you inhabitant of Zion: For great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of you.

²⁰ Look on Zion, the city of our solemnities: Your eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes of it shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords of it be broken. ²¹ But there the glorious LORD will be to us a place of broad rivers and streams; in which no galley with oars shall go, neither shall a gallant ship pass through it. ²² For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our Lawgiver, the LORD is our King; He will save us.

¹ Moreover, when you shall divide the land by lot for inheritance, you shall offer an oblation to the LORD, a holy portion of the land: The length shall be twenty-five thousand reeds, and the width shall be ten thousand. This shall be holy in all its borders all around. ² Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred in length, with five hundred in width, square all around; and fifty cubits all around for its suburbs. ³ And of this measure you shall measure the length of twenty-five thousand, and the width of ten thousand: And in it shall be the sanctuary and the most holy place. ⁴ The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister to the LORD: And it shall be a place for their houses, and a holy place for the sanctuary. ⁵ And the twenty-five thousand of length, and the ten thousand of width, the Levites, the ministers of the house, shall also have for themselves, for a possession of twenty chambers. ⁶ And you shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand wide, and twenty-five thousand long, adjacent to the oblation of the holy parcel: It shall be for the whole house of Israel.

²¹ And the residue shall be for the prince, on the one side and on the other of the holy oblation, and of the possession of the city, in front of the twenty-five thousand of the oblation toward the east border, and westward in front of the twenty-five thousand toward the west border, alongside the portions for the prince: And it shall be the holy oblation; and the sanctuary of the house shall be in the middle of it.

³⁵ It was eighteen thousand measures all around: And the name of the city from that day forward shall be, The LORD is there."The LORD is there; or in the Hebrew, Jehovahshammah

¹¹ "And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be My people: And I will dwell in the midst of you, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. ¹² And the LORD shall inherit Judah, His portion, in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.

¹⁶ And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God; as God has said: "I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."

²⁰ and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone; ²¹ in whom all the building, being fitly framed together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord: ²² In whom you also are built together as a habitation of God through the Spirit.

⁹ For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.

³ And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God.

²² And I saw no temple in it: For the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

³ And there shall be no more curse: But the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him:

¹ And the LORD spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying, ² command the children of Israel, that they give to the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and you shall give also to the Levites suburbs for the cities all around them. ³ And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their domestic beasts, and for their goods, and for all their beasts. ⁴ And the suburbs of the cities, which you shall give to the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits all around. ⁵ And you shall measure from outside the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the middle: This shall be to them the suburbs of the cities. ⁶ And among the cities which you shall give to the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which you shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: And to them you shall add forty and two cities. ⁷ So all the cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: Them shall you give with their suburbs. ⁸ And the cities which you shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: From those that have many you shall give many; but from those that have few you shall give few: Every one shall give of his cities to the Levites according to his inheritance which he inherits. ⁹ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

¹ Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel; ² and they spoke to them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, "The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with its suburbs for our domestic beasts. ³ And the children of Israel gave to the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs. ⁴ And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: And the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities. ⁵ And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities. ⁶ And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities. ⁷ The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities. ⁸ And the children of Israel gave by lot to the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses. ⁹ And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name. ¹⁰ Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: For theirs was the first lot. ¹¹ And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with its suburbs all around it. ¹² But the fields of the city, and its villages, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession. ¹³ Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs, ¹⁴ and Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs, ¹⁵ and Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs, ¹⁶ and Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Bethshemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes. ¹⁷ And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs, ¹⁸ anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities. ¹⁹ All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs. ²⁰ And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim. ²¹ For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in Mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs, ²² and Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbs; four cities. ²³ And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs, ²⁴ aijalon with her suburbs, Gathrimmon with her suburbs; four cities. ²⁵ And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gathrimmon with her suburbs; two cities. ²⁶ All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained. ²⁷ And to the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beeshterah with her suburbs; two cities. ²⁸ And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs, ²⁹ jarmuth with her suburbs, Engannim with her suburbs; four cities. ³⁰ And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs, ³¹ helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities. ³² And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammothdor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities. ³³ All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs. ³⁴ And to the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs, ³⁵ dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities. ³⁶ And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs, ³⁷ kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities. ³⁸ And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs, ³⁹ heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all. ⁴⁰ So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities. ⁴¹ All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs. ⁴² These cities were every one with their suburbs all around them: Thus were all these cities. ⁴³ And the LORD gave to Israel all the land which he swore to give to their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelled in it. ⁴⁴ And the LORD gave them rest all around, according to all that he swore to their fathers: And there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. ⁴⁵ There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel; all came to pass.

²⁸ "And it shall be to them for an inheritance: I am their inheritance: And you shall give them no possession in Israel: I am their possession.

⁴ The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary, which shall come near to minister to the LORD: And it shall be a place for their houses, and a holy place for the sanctuary.

¹⁰ nor bag for your journey, nor two coats, neither shoes, nor even walking staffs: For the workman is worthy of his food.

¹³ Do you not know that those who minister around holy things live from the things of the temple? And those who wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? ¹⁴ Even so the Lord has ordained that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel.

⁴⁶ And the chamber whose view is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: These are the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near the LORD to minister to Him."

¹⁹ And you shall give a young bull for a sin offering to the Levite priests that are of the seed of Zadok, which approach Me, to minister to Me', says the Lord GOD.

¹⁰ And the Levites that have gone far away from Me, when Israel went astray, which went astray away from Me following after their idols; they shall even bear their iniquity.

¹⁵ But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the ordinances of My sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near to Me to minister to Me, and they shall stand before Me to offer to Me the fat and the blood", says the Lord GOD: ¹⁶ "They shall enter into My sanctuary, and they shall come near My table, to minister to Me, and they shall keep My ordinances.

⁴⁵ Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? ⁴⁶ Blessed is that servant, whom his lord shall find so doing when he comes.

⁷ I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: ⁸ Furthermore, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me in that day: And not to me only, but also to all those that love His appearing.

⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a crown of glory that does not fade away.

¹⁰ Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: Behold, the devil shall throw some of you into prison, that you may be proven; and you shall have tribulation ten days: Be faithful to death, and I will give you a crown of life.

²¹ But the field, when it goes out in the jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a field devoted; its possession shall be the priest's.

¹⁹ Take heed to yourself that you forsake not the Levite as long as you live on the earth.

³ And of this measure you shall measure the length of twenty-five thousand, and the width of ten thousand: And in it shall be the sanctuary and the most holy place.

⁵ And the twenty-five thousand of length, and the ten thousand of width, the Levites, the ministers of the house, shall also have for themselves, for a possession of twenty chambers.

⁷ And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give: For the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house.

²⁹ You shall not delay to offer the first of your ripe fruits, and of your liquors: You shall give the firstborn of your sons to Me.liquors: In Hebrew, tears

²⁰ And the priest shall wave them with the bread of the firstfruits for a wave offering before the LORD, with the two lambs: They shall be holy to the LORD for the priest.

³⁴ But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold; for it is their perpetual possession.

⁹ And if it be a beast, whereof men bring an offering to the LORD, all that any man gives of such to the LORD shall be holy. ¹⁰ He shall not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good: And if he shall at all change beast for beast, then it and its exchange shall be holy.

²⁸ Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote to the LORD of all that he has, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: Every devoted thing is most holy to the LORD.

³² And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth shall be holy to the LORD. ³³ He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: And if he change it at all, then both it and its change shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

¹² And this oblation of the land that is offered shall be to them a most holy place by the border of the Levites.

⁸ Will a man rob God? Yet you all have robbed Me. But you all say, 'In what have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings. ⁹ You all are cursed with a curse: For you all have robbed Me, even this whole nation. ¹⁰ Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, all of you, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now with this", says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open to you the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing upon you, such that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

²⁶ Her priests have violated My law, and have profaned My holy things: They have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from My Sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

²⁰ He measured it by the four sides: It had a wall all around, five hundred reeds long, and five hundred wide, to make a separation between the sanctuary and the profane place.

²³ And they shall teach My people the difference between the holy and profane, and cause them to discern between the unclean and the clean.

⁶ And you shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand wide, and twenty-five thousand long, adjacent to the oblation of the holy parcel: It shall be for the whole house of Israel.

¹⁵ But if I tarry long, I write that you may know how you yourselves ought to behave in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

¹⁶ And the city lies four-square, and the length is as large as the breadth: And he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length, breadth, and height of it are equal.12000 furlongs is approximately 1500 miles or 2414 kilometers.

²⁷ And Joshua made those that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the congregation, and for the altar of the LORD, even to this day, in the place which he should choose.

⁴³ The Nethinims: The children of Ziha, the children of Hasupha, the children of Tabbaoth, ⁴⁴ the children of Keros, the children of Siaha, the children of Padon, ⁴⁵ the children of Lebanah, the children of Hagabah, the children of Akkub, ⁴⁶ the children of Hagab, the children of Shalmai, the children of Hanan, ⁴⁷ the children of Giddel, the children of Gahar, the children of Reaiah, ⁴⁸ the children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda, the children of Gazzam, ⁴⁹ the children of Uzza, the children of Paseah, the children of Besai, ⁵⁰ the children of Asnah, the children of Mehunim, the children of Nephusim, ⁵¹ the children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur, ⁵² the children of Bazluth, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha, ⁵³ the children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Thamah, ⁵⁴ the children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha. ⁵⁵ The children of Solomon's servants: The children of Sotai, the children of Sophereth, the children of Peruda, ⁵⁶ the children of Jaalah, the children of Darkon, the children of Giddel, ⁵⁷ the children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Ami. ⁵⁸ All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon's servants, were three hundred ninety and two.

⁷ And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, which provided food for the king and his household: Each man his month in a year made provision. ⁸ And these are their names: The son of Hur, in Mount Ephraim: ⁹ The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Bethshemesh, and Elonbethhanan: ¹⁰ The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher: ¹¹ The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; which had Taphath the daughter of Solomon to wife: ¹² Baana the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo, and all Bethshean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah, even to the place that is beyond Jokneam: ¹³ The son of Geber, in Ramothgilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, three score great cities with walls and brazen bars: ¹⁴ Ahinadab the son of Iddo had Mahanaim: ¹⁵ Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon to wife: ¹⁶ Baanah the son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth: ¹⁷ Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar: ¹⁸ Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin: ¹⁹ Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer which was in the land. ²⁰ Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry. ²¹ And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt: They brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life. ²² And Solomon's provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and three score measures of meal, ²³ ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and a hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallow deer, and fatted fowl.

¹ And the rulers of the people dwelled at Jerusalem: The rest of the people also cast lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts to dwell in other cities. ² And the people blessed all the men, that willingly offered themselves to dwell at Jerusalem. ³ Now these are the chief of the province that dwelled in Jerusalem: But in the cities of Judah dwelled every one in his possession in their cities, to wit, Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon's servants. ⁴ And at Jerusalem dwelled certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah; Athaiah the son of Uzziah, the son of Zechariah, the son of Amariah, the son of Shephatiah, the son of Mahalaleel, of the children of Perez; ⁵ and Maaseiah the son of Baruch, the son of Colhozeh, the son of Hazaiah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Joiarib, the son of Zechariah, the son of Shiloni. ⁶ All the sons of Perez that dwelled at Jerusalem were four hundred three score and eight valiant men. ⁷ And these are the sons of Benjamin; Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Joed, the son of Pedaiah, the son of Kolaiah, the son of Maaseiah, the son of Ithiel, the son of Jesaiah. ⁸ And after him Gabbai, Sallai, nine hundred twenty and eight. ⁹ And Joel the son of Zichri was their overseer: And Judah the son of Senuah was second over the city. ¹⁰ Of the priests: Jedaiah the son of Joiarib, Jachin. ¹¹ Seraiah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, was the ruler of the house of God. ¹² And their brothers that did the work of the house were eight hundred twenty and two: And Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pelaliah, the son of Amzi, the son of Zechariah, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchiah. ¹³ And his brothers, chief of the fathers, two hundred forty and two: And Amashai the son of Azareel, the son of Ahasai, the son of Meshillemoth, the son of Immer, ¹⁴ and their brothers, mighty men of valor, a hundred twenty and eight: And their overseer was Zabdiel, the son of one of the great men. ¹⁵ Also of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hashub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Bunni; ¹⁶ and Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chief of the Levites, had the oversight of the outward business of the house of God. ¹⁷ And Mattaniah the son of Micha, the son of Zabdi, the son of Asaph, was the principal to begin the thanksgiving in prayer: And Bakbukiah the second among his brothers, and Abda the son of Shammua, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun. ¹⁸ All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred eighty and four. ¹⁹ Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their brothers that kept the gates, were a hundred seventy and two. ²⁰ And the residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance. ²¹ But the Nethinims dwelled in Ophel: And Ziha and Gispa were over the Nethinims. ²² The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the son of Bani, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Mattaniah, the son of Micha. Of the sons of Asaph, the singers were over the business of the house of God. ²³ For it was the king's commandment concerning them, that a certain portion should be for the singers, due for every day. ²⁴ And Pethahiah the son of Meshezabeel, of the children of Zerah the son of Judah, was at the king's hand in all matters concerning the people. ²⁵ And for the villages, with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelled at Kirjatharba, and in its villages, and at Dibon, and in its villages, and at Jekabzeel, and in its villages, ²⁶ and at Jeshua, and at Moladah, and at Bethphelet, ²⁷ and at Hazarshual, and at Beersheba, and in its villages, ²⁸ and at Ziklag, and at Mekonah, and in its villages, ²⁹ and at Enrimmon, and at Zareah, and at Jarmuth, ³⁰ zanoah, Adullam, and in their villages, at Lachish, and its fields, at Azekah, and in its villages. And they dwelled from Beersheba to the valley of Hinnom. ³¹ The children also of Benjamin from Geba dwelled at Michmash, and Aija, and Bethel, and in their villages. ³² And at Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah, ³³ hazor, Ramah, Gittaim, ³⁴ hadid, Zeboim, Neballat, ³⁵ lod, and Ono, the valley of craftsmen. ³⁶ And of the Levites were divisions in Judah, and in Benjamin.

¹⁷ For you know how afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: For he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

²³ And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even My servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. ²⁴ And I the LORD will be their God, and My servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.

²⁴ And David My servant shall be king over them; and they shall all have one shepherd: They shall also walk in My judgments, and observe My statutes, and do them.

⁷ And a portion shall be for the prince on the one side and on the other side of the oblation of the holy parcel, and of the possession of the city, before the oblation of the holy parcel, and before the possession of the city, from the west side westward, and from the east side eastward: And the length shall be adjacent to one of the parcels, from the west border to the east border. ⁸ His possession shall be in the land of Israel: And My princes shall no longer oppress My people; and they shall give the rest of the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes."

⁸ And by the border of Judah, from the east side to the west side, shall be the offering which you shall offer of twenty-five thousand reeds in width, and in length as one of the other parts, from the east side to the west side: And the sanctuary shall be in the middle of it.

¹⁰ And for these, even for the priests, shall be this holy oblation; toward the north twenty-five thousand in length, and toward the west ten thousand in width, and toward the east ten thousand in width, and toward the south twenty-five thousand in length: And the sanctuary of the LORD shall be in the middle of it.

²² Moreover, from the possession of the Levites, and from the possession of the city, being in the midst of that which is the prince's, between the border of Judah and the border of Benjamin, shall be for the prince.

¹¹ Then the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: For great shall be the day of Jezreel."

¹⁶ And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was only a little more way to go to Ephrath: And Rachel travailed, and she had hard labor. ¹⁷ And it came to pass, when she was in hard labor, that the midwife said to her, "Fear not; you shall have this son also." ¹⁸ And it came to pass, as her soul was in a state of departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: But his father called him Benjamin.Benoni; that is, The son of my sorrowBenjamin; that is, The son of the right hand ¹⁹ And Rachel died, and was buried on the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.

²¹ Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Bethhoglah, and the valley of Keziz, ²² and Betharabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel, ²³ and Avim, and Pharah, and Ophrah, ²⁴ and Chepharhaammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities with their villages: ²⁵ Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth, ²⁶ and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah, ²⁷ and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah, ²⁸ and Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem, Gibeath, and Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.

¹ Now these are the names of the tribes. From the north end to the border of the throughway of Hethlon, as one goes to Hamath, Hazarenan, the border of Damascus northward, to the border of Hamath; for these are his sides east and west; a portion for Dan. ² And by the border of Dan, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Asher. ³ And by the border of Asher, from the east side even to the west side, a portion for Naphtali. ⁴ And by the border of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Manasseh. ⁵ And by the border of Manasseh, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Ephraim. ⁶ And by the border of Ephraim, from the east side even to the west side, a portion for Reuben. ⁷ And by the border of Reuben, from the east side to the west side, a portion for Judah.

³³ And she conceived again, and bore a son; and said, "Because the LORD has heard that I was hated, He has therefore given me this son also": And she called his name Simeon.Simeon; that is, Hearing

⁵ Simeon and Levi are brothers; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. ⁶ O my soul, do not come into their secret counsel; to their assembly, my honor, do not be united with them: For in their anger they slew a man, and in their self-will they dug beneath and undermined a wall. ⁷ Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.

¹ And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: And their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah. ² And they had in their inheritance Beersheba, and Sheba, and Moladah, ³ and Hazarshual, and Balah, and Azem, ⁴ and Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah, ⁵ and Ziklag, and Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusah, ⁶ and Bethlebaoth, and Sharuhen; thirteen cities and their villages: ⁷ Ain, Remmon, and Ether, and Ashan; four cities and their villages: ⁸ And all the villages that were all around these cities to Baalathbeer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families. ⁹ Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon: For the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: Therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them.

¹⁴ And Reuben went out during the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them to his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, "I implore you, give me of your son's mandrakes." ¹⁵ And she said to her, "Is it a small matter that you have taken my husband? And would you also take away my son's mandrakes?" And Rachel said, "He shall therefore lie with you tonight for your son's mandrakes." ¹⁶ And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, "You must come in to me; for surely I have hired you with my son's mandrakes." And he lay with her that night. ¹⁷ And God hearkened to Leah, and she conceived, and bore Jacob the fifth son. ¹⁸ And Leah said, "God has given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband": And she called his name Issachar.Issachar, that is, A hire

¹⁷ And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for the children of Issachar according to their families. ¹⁸ And their border was toward Jezreel, and Chesulloth, and Shunem, ¹⁹ and Haphraim, and Shihon, and Anaharath, ²⁰ and Rabbith, and Kishion, and Abez, ²¹ and Remeth, and Engannim, and Enhaddah, and Bethpazzez; ²² and the coast reaches to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Bethshemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: Sixteen cities with their villages. ²³ This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families, the cities and their villages.

¹⁹ And Leah conceived again, and bore Jacob the sixth son. ²⁰ And Leah said, "God has endued me with a good dowry; now my husband will dwell with me, because I have borne him six sons": And she called his name Zebulun.Zebulun; that is, Dwelling

¹⁰ And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families: And the border of their inheritance was to Sarid: ¹¹ And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam; ¹² and turned from Sarid eastward toward the sun rise to the border of Chislothtabor, and then goes out to Daberath, and goes up to Japhia, ¹³ and from there passes on along on the east to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goes out to Remmonmethoar to Neah; ¹⁴ and the border compasses it on the north side to Hannathon: And its outgoings are in the valley of Jiphthahel: ¹⁵ And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: Twelve cities with their villages. ¹⁶ This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families, these cities with their villages.

¹⁰ And Zilpah Leah's maid bore Jacob a son. ¹¹ And Leah said, "A troop comes: And she called his name Gad.Gad; that is, A troop, or, A company

²⁴ And Moses gave inheritance to the tribe of Gad, even to the children of Gad according to their families. ²⁵ And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, to Aroer that is before Rabbah; ²⁶ and from Heshbon to Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim to the border of Debir; ²⁷ and in the valley, Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and his border, even to the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side of the Jordan eastward. ²⁸ This is the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.

⁷ And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelled in Hazezontamar.

¹⁸ On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates:

¹ Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: And the people stayed in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

¹³ This is the water of Meribah; because the children of Israel strove with the LORD, and he was sanctified in them.

⁵ And the border shall fetch a compass from Azmon to the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.

³ from Sihor, which is before Egypt, even to the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: Five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites:

² Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, "There comes a great multitude against you from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.

³² They also angered Him at the waters of strife, so that it went badly with Moses for their sakes:

¹² And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat thresh from the channel of the river to the stream of Egypt, and you shall be gathered one by one, O you children of Israel.

¹⁰ And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even to Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many.

¹⁵ And this shall be the border of the land toward the north side, from the great sea, the throughway of Hethlon, as men go to Zedad;

¹⁹ And the south side southward, from Tamar even to the waters of strife in Kadesh, the river to the great sea. And this is the south side southward. ²⁰ The west side shall also be the great sea from the border, until a man comes in front of Hamath. This is the west side.

² command the children of Israel, and say to them, When you come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with its coasts):

¹³ And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, "This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half tribe:

¹ Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the LORD said to him, "You are old and stricken in years, and there remains yet very much land to be possessed. ² This is the land that yet remains: All the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri, ³ from Sihor, which is before Egypt, even to the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: Five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites: ⁴ From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians to Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites: ⁵ And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sun rise, from Baalgad under Mount Hermon to the entering into Hamath. ⁶ All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: Only divide you it by lot to the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded you. ⁷ Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh, ⁸ with whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond the Jordan eastward, even as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them; ⁹ from Aroer, that is on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that is in the middle of the river, and all the plain of Medeba to Dibon; ¹⁰ and all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, to the border of the children of Ammon; ¹¹ and Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salcah; ¹² all the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: For these did Moses smite, and cast them out. ¹³ Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: But the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day. ¹⁴ Only to the tribes of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as he said to them.

¹³ Thus says the Lord GOD; "This shall be the border, by which you shall inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel: Joseph shall have two portions. ¹⁴ And you shall inherit it, one as well as another: Concerning that which I have lifted up My hand to give to your fathers: And this land shall fall to you for inheritance. ¹⁵ And this shall be the border of the land toward the north side, from the great sea, the throughway of Hethlon, as men go to Zedad; ¹⁶ hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazarhatticon, which is by the border of Hauran. ¹⁷ And the border from the sea shall be Hazarenan, the border of Damascus, and the north northward, and the border of Hamath. And this is the north side. ¹⁸ And the east side you shall measure from Hauran, and from Damascus, and from Gilead, and from the land of Israel by Jordan, from the border to the east sea. And this is the east side. ¹⁹ And the south side southward, from Tamar even to the waters of strife in Kadesh, the river to the great sea. And this is the south side southward. ²⁰ The west side shall also be the great sea from the border, until a man comes in front of Hamath. This is the west side. ²¹ So shall you divide this land to yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. ²² And it shall come to pass, that you shall divide it by lot as an inheritance to yourselves, and to the strangers that sojourn among you, which shall beget children among you: And they shall be to you as born in the country among the children of Israel; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.

¹⁶ And these shall be its measures; the north side four thousand and five hundred, and the south side four thousand and five hundred, and on the east side four thousand and five hundred, and the west side four thousand and five hundred.

³² And at the east side four thousand and five hundred: And three gates; and one gate of Joseph, one gate of Benjamin, one gate of Dan. ³³ And at the south side four thousand and five hundred measures: And three gates; one gate of Simeon, one gate of Issachar, one gate of Zebulun. ³⁴ At the west side four thousand and five hundred, with their three gates; one gate of Gad, one gate of Asher, one gate of Naphtali. ³⁵ It was eighteen thousand measures all around: And the name of the city from that day forward shall be, The LORD is there."The LORD is there; or in the Hebrew, Jehovahshammah

¹ In that day this song shall be sung in the land of Judah; "We have a strong city; God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks. ² Open the gates, that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in.

¹² And I will make your windows of agates, and your gates of carbuncles, and all your borders of pleasant stones.

¹¹ Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring to you the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

¹² and had a large and high wall, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: ¹³ On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

²¹ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every distinct gate was of one pearl: And the street of the city was pure gold, even like transparent glass.

²⁵ And its gates shall not be shut at all daily: For there shall be no night there.

¹⁴ And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: As it is said to this day, "In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen."Jehovahjireh; that is, The LORD will see, or, The LORD will provide

²⁶ and said, "If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD your God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and will give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: For I am the LORD that heals you."

¹⁵ And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:Jehovahnissi; that is, The LORD my banner

²⁴ Then Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it Jehovahshalom: To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.Jehovahshalom; that is, The LORD send peace

⁵ God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and right early at that.

³ God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

¹⁴ For this God is our God forever and ever: He will be our guide even to death.

¹⁸ You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive: You have received gifts for men; yes, for the rebellious also, that the LORD God might dwell among them.

¹³ Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary: Who is so great a God as our God?

¹⁴ "This is My rest forever: Here I will dwell; for I have desired it.

³² What then shall one answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD has founded Zion, and the poor of His people shall take refuge in it.

²³ Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in Mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his elders gloriously.

¹⁷ At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: Neither shall they walk after the imagination of their evil heart any more.

⁹ Why should You be like an astonished man, like a mighty man that cannot save? Yet You, O LORD, are in the midst of us, and we are called by Your name; do not leave us.

⁶ In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: And this is His name by which he shall be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

¹⁶ In those days Judah shall be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: And this is the name with which she shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.'

¹⁰ Because you have said, 'These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it'; although the LORD was there:

²¹ For I will cleanse their blood which I have not cleansed: For the LORD dwells in Zion."

¹⁰ Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: For lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you", says the LORD.

²¹ Yes, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness to the LORD of hosts: And all those that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and boil in them: And in that day there shall no longer be the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
