⁷ And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

¹⁹ in the sweat of your face you shall eat bread, until you return to the ground; for out of it you were taken: For dust you are, and to dust you shall return."

²³ Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from where he was taken.

²² All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that were on the dry land, died.

²² And they fell upon their faces, and said, "O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be wroth with all the congregation?

¹⁶ let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation,

¹⁹ How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?

³ all the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

⁴ The spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life.

⁶ Behold, I am according to your wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.

³ Know that the LORD, He is God: It is He that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.

¹⁴ For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.

¹⁴ I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvelous are Your works; and that my soul knows truly well. ¹⁵ My substance was not hid from You, when I was made in secret, and curiously formed in the lowest parts of the earth.

²⁷ The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.

⁷ A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

²⁰ All go to one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. ²¹ Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast that goes downward to the earth?

⁷ Then the dust shall return to the earth as it was: And the spirit shall return to God who gave it.

²² Cease all of you from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: For in what is he to be accounted of?

⁸ But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and we all are the work of Your hand.

¹ The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, says the LORD, which stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.

²² And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit:

²⁵ neither is worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, seeing He gives to all life, breath, and all things;

²⁰ No rather, O man, who are you that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, "Why have you made me like this?"

⁴⁵ And so it is written, "The first man Adam became a living soul"; the last Adam was made a life giving spirit.

⁴⁷ The first man is of the earth, earthy: The second Man is the Lord from heaven.

⁷ But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

¹ For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

⁹ Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: Should we not much rather be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and live?
