²¹ And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart, "I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

¹⁷ And to Adam He said, "Because you have hearkened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it': Cursed is the ground for your sake; in sorrow you shall eat of it all the days of your life;

¹² when you till the ground, it shall not yield her strength to you from now on; a fugitive and a vagabond you shall be in the earth."

²⁹ And he called his name Noah, saying, "This one shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD has cursed."

⁵ And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

¹⁷ And behold, I, even I, am bringing a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

¹¹ And I will establish My covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any longer by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth." ¹² And God said, "This is the token sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: ¹³ I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. ¹⁴ And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: ¹⁵ And I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

¹⁸ And you shall burn the whole ram upon the altar: It is a burnt offering to the LORD: It is a sweet savor, an offering made by fire to the LORD.

²⁵ And you shall receive them from their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt offering, for a sweet savor before the LORD: It is an offering made by fire to the LORD.

⁹ But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: And the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet smell to the LORD.

¹³ But he shall wash the inwards and the legs with water: And the priest shall bring it all, and burn it on the altar: It is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet smell to the LORD.

¹⁷ And he shall split it with its wings, but shall not divide it asunder: And the priest shall burn it on the altar, on the wood that is on the fire: It is a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet smell to the LORD.

³¹ And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the smell of your sweet odors.

⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? And he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ Behold, he puts no trust in his saints; yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight. ¹⁶ How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinks iniquity like water?

⁵ Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin my mother conceived me.

³ The wicked are estranged from the womb: They go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.

⁹ Who can say, "I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin"?

²⁰ For there is not a just man on earth, that does good, and does not sin.

¹⁰ How fair is your love, my sister, my spouse! How much better is your love than wine! And the smell of your perfumes than all spices! ¹¹ Your lips, O my spouse, drop as the honeycomb: Honey and milk are under your tongue; and the smell of your garments is like the smell of Lebanon.

¹² Stand now with your enchantments, and with the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have labored from your youth; if so perhaps you shall be able to profit, if so perhaps you may prevail.

¹⁵ Thus they shall be to you with whom you have labored, even your merchants, from your youth: Everyone shall wander to his quarter; none shall save you.

⁸ Yes, you heard not; yes, you knew not; yes, from that time your ear was not opened: For I knew that you would deal very treacherously, and were called a transgressor from the womb.

⁶ All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

⁹ "For this is like the waters of Noah to Me: For as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so I have sworn that I would not be wroth with you, nor rebuke you. ¹⁰ For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed", said the LORD who has mercy on you.

⁶ Behold, it is written before Me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,

⁶ I listened and heard, but they did not speak aright: No man repented of his wickedness, saying, 'What have I done?' Everyone turned to his course, as the horse rushes into the battle.

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: Who can know it?

¹² And they said, "There is no hope: But we will walk after our own devices, and we will, everyone, do the imagination of his evil heart."

⁴¹ I will accept you with your sweet smell, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you before the heathen.

²¹ I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell scents in your solemn assemblies.solemn assemblies; or, holy days ²² Though you offer me burnt offerings and your food offerings, I will not accept them: Neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat domestic beasts.peace offerings; or, thank offerings

¹⁹ For out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

⁶ That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

²¹ Because although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

²³ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: For it is not subject to the law of God, indeed neither can be. ⁸ So then, those that are in the flesh cannot please God.

¹⁵ For we are to God a sweet savor of Christ, in those that are saved, and in those that perish:

¹ And you He has vivified, who were dead in trespasses and sins; ² in which you walked in time past according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience: ³ Among whom we all also had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

² and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given Himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor.

¹⁸ But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, a sweet smelling savor, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.

¹⁴ But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. ¹⁵ Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin: And sin, when it is finished, brings forth death.

¹ From what source do wars and fighting come from among you? Do they not come from this, even out of your lusts that war in your members? ² You lust, and have not: You kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: You fight and war, yet you do not have, because you do not ask.

⁶ By which the world that existed back then, being overflowed with water, perished: ⁷ But the heavens and the earth, which are now kept in store by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

¹⁹ And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lies in wickedness.
