³⁰ Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by wishing a curse to his soul.

⁴ If you meet your enemy's ox or his donkey going astray, you shall surely bring it back to him again. ⁵ If you see the donkey of him who hates you lying under his burden, and would forbear to help him, you shall surely help him.

² Do not be rash with your mouth, and do not let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God: For God is in heaven, and you on earth: Therefore let your words be few.

⁶ Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin; neither shall you say before the angel, that it was an error: Why should God be angry at your voice, and destroy the work of your hands?

²² But I say to you, That whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: And whoever shall say to his brother, 'You vain fellow' shall be in danger of the council: But whoever says, 'You fool', shall be in danger of hell fire.

⁴³ You have heard that it has been said, 'You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy.' ⁴⁴ But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those that curse you, do good to those that hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you, and persecute you;

³⁶ But I say to you that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account of it in the day of judgment.

¹⁴ Bless those who persecute you: Bless, and do not curse.

⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: Thus is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

⁹ With it we bless God, even the Father; and with it we curse men, who are made in the similitude of God. ¹⁰ Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.

²² "Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth": ²³ Who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten; but committed Himself to Him that judges righteously:

⁹ Not rendering evil for evil, or returning reproach for reproach: But on the contrary blessing; knowing that you are called to this, that you should inherit a blessing.
