And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people. ⁷ And the LORD said to Joshua, "This day will I begin to magnify you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. ⁸ And you shall command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, "When you have come to the brink of the water of Jordan, you shall stand still in Jordan. ⁹ And Joshua said to the children of Israel, Come here, and hear the words of the LORD your God. ¹⁰ And Joshua said, "Hereby you shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites. ¹¹ Behold, the ark of the covenant of the LORD of all the earth passes over before you into Jordan. ¹² Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man. ¹³ And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the LORD of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand on a heap. ¹⁴ And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over the Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people; ¹⁵ and as those that bore the ark were come to Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bore the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overflows all his banks all the time of harvest), ¹⁶ That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up on a heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: And those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: And the people passed over right against Jericho. ¹⁷ And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over the Jordan.

³ And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and split the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went to the place of which God had told him.

¹ And Israel stayed in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

¹ And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, "Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into a harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.

⁶⁰ I made haste, and did not delay to keep Your commandments.

¹³ And now, because you have done all these works", said the LORD, "and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear; and I called you, but you did not answer;

³ "From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even to this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking; but you have not listened.

⁵ to listen to the words of My servants the prophets, whom I sent to you, both rising up early, and sending them, but you have not listened;

⁵ O My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal; that all of you may know the righteousness of the LORD."

³⁵ Then in the morning, rising up a long while before daylight, He went out, and departed into a solitary place, and prayed there.

¹⁰ Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, ¹¹ pass through the host, and command the people, saying, "Prepare you food; for within three days you shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God gives you to possess it.

²¹ And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead the way for them; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: ²² He did not take away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

¹⁵ And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear it: But they shall not touch any holy thing, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.

³³ And they departed from the mount of the LORD three days' journey: And the ark of the covenant of the LORD went before them in the three days' journey, to search out a resting place for them.

⁹ And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it to the priests the sons of Levi, which bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and to all the elders of Israel.

²⁵ that Moses commanded the Levites, which bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,

¹⁰ For the priests which bore the ark stood in the middle of Jordan, until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua: And the people hurried and passed over.

⁶ And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the LORD."

³ And they set the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: And Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drove the new cart.

¹³ And it was so, that when those that bore the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatted calves.

¹¹ And David called for Zadok and Abiathar the priests, and for the Levites, for Uriel, Asaiah, and Joel, Shemaiah, and Eliel, and Amminadab, ¹² and said to them, "You are the chief of the fathers of the Levites: Sanctify yourselves, both you and your brothers, that you may bring up the ark of the LORD God of Israel to the place that I have prepared for it.

¹⁹ Then a certain scribe came, and said to him, "Master, I will follow You wherever You go."

²⁴ Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

⁴ These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.

² And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and behold, it was not toward him as before.

⁵ And he said, "Do not draw near here: Put off your shoes from your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground."

¹⁰ And Moses said to the LORD, "O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither before, nor since You have spoken to Your servant: But I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue."

¹² And you shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, 'Take heed to yourselves, that you do not go up into the mount, or touch the border of it: Whoever touches the mount shall surely be put to death:

² And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, you were he that led out and brought in Israel: And the LORD your God said to you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be ruler over my people Israel.

⁷ God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be held in reverence by all those that are around Him.

³³ For Tophet is ordained of old; yes, it is prepared for the king; He has made it deep and large: Its pile is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, kindles it.Tophet; or, Hell

²⁸ Therefore, we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: ²⁹ For our God is a consuming fire.

¹⁰ And the LORD said to Moses, "Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes, ¹¹ and be ready against the third day: For the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai. ¹² And you shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, 'Take heed to yourselves, that you do not go up into the mount, or touch the border of it: Whoever touches the mount shall surely be put to death: ¹³ A hand shall not touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it is beast or man, it shall not live': When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mount." ¹⁴ And Moses went down from the mount to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes. ¹⁵ And he said to the people, "Be ready against the third day: Do not come at your wives."

³ Then Moses said to Aaron, "This is it that the LORD spoke, saying, "I will be sanctified in them that come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

⁷ Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be you holy: For I am the LORD your God.

⁸ And the people went about, and gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in a mortar, and baked it in pans, and made cakes of it: And the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.

¹³ And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the LORD of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand on a heap.

¹⁵ and as those that bore the ark were come to Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bore the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overflows all his banks all the time of harvest),

¹³ Up, sanctify the people, and say, "Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow: For thus says the LORD God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of you, O Israel: You cannot stand before your enemies, until you take away the accursed thing from among you.

⁵ And he said, "Peaceably: I have come to sacrifice to the LORD: Sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice." And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.

⁵ And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: For Job said, "It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

¹⁰ For You are great, and do wondrous things: You are God alone.

¹ When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; ² judah was His sanctuary, and Israel His dominion. ³ The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. ⁴ The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. ⁵ What ailed you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you were driven back? ⁶ You mountains, that you skipped like rams; and you little hills, like lambs? ⁷ Tremble, you earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;

¹⁶ Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: Let the bridegroom go forth from his chamber, and the bride out of her room.

¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they might also be sanctified through the truth.

¹⁵ Now if you shall kill all this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying,

³ and they commanded the people, saying, "When you see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then you shall remove from your place, and go after it.

¹³ The breaker has come up before them: They have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and have gone out by it: And their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them."

² In My Father's house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. ³ And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

²⁰ where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, made a High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

⁵ There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: As I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.

¹⁷ According as we listened to Moses in all things, so will we listen to you: Only the LORD your God be with you, as he was with Moses.

¹⁴ On that day the LORD magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

²⁵ And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed on him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

¹ And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.

¹⁷ What is man, that you should magnify him? And that you should set your heart on him?

³⁵ You have also given me the shield of Your salvation: And Your right hand has held me up, and Your gentleness has made me great.

¹ Jesus spoke these words, and lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You:

²⁰ according to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing shall I be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

⁹ Therefore God has also highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: ¹⁰ That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things on earth, and things under the earth; ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹³ And Moses said to the people, "Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will show to you today: For the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall not see them again anymore forever.

¹⁷ And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the middle of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over the Jordan.

⁸ And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests. ⁹ And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.

⁴ And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street, ⁵ and said to them, "Hear me, you Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place. ⁶ For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs. ⁷ Also they have shut up the doors of the porch, and put out the lamps, and have not burned incense nor offered burnt offerings in the holy place to the God of Israel. ⁸ Why the wrath of the LORD was on Judah and Jerusalem, and he has delivered them to trouble, to astonishment, and to hissing, as you see with your eyes. ⁹ For lo, our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons and our daughters and our wives are in captivity for this. ¹⁰ Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with the LORD God of Israel, that his fierce wrath may turn away from us. ¹¹ My sons, be not now negligent: For the LORD has chosen you to stand before him, to serve him, and that you should minister to him, and burn incense.

¹⁵ And they gathered their brothers, and sanctified themselves, and came, according to the commandment of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse the house of the LORD.

²⁷ And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt offering on the altar. And when the burnt offering began, the song of the LORD began also with the trumpets, and with the instruments ordained by David king of Israel.

³⁰ Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes commanded the Levites to sing praise to the LORD with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.

¹² Also in Judah the hand of God was to give them one heart to do the commandment of the king and of the princes, by the word of the LORD.

⁹ Then Hezekiah questioned with the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps. ¹⁰ And Azariah the chief priest of the house of Zadok answered him, and said, "Since the people began to bring the offerings into the house of the LORD, we have had enough to eat, and have left plenty: For the LORD has blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.

² And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD, ³ and said to the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy to the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build; it shall not be a burden on your shoulders: Serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel, ⁴ and prepare yourselves by the houses of your fathers, after your courses, according to the writing of David king of Israel, and according to the writing of Solomon his son. ⁵ And stand in the holy place according to the divisions of the families of the fathers of your brothers the people, and after the division of the families of the Levites. ⁶ So kill the Passover, and sanctify yourselves, and prepare your brothers, that they may do according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Moses.

²⁴ And the chief of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmiel, with their brothers in front of them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, ward in front of ward. ²⁵ Mattaniah, and Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, Akkub, were porters keeping the ward at the thresholds of the gates. ²⁶ These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of Ezra the priest, the scribe. ²⁷ And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, psalteries, and with harps. ²⁸ And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain country all around Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophathi;

²² And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the Sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of your mercy.

²⁸ And one of the sons of Joiada, the son of Eliashib the high priest, was son-in-law to Sanballat the Horonite: Therefore I chased him from me.

²⁶ It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

¹ Now therefore listen, O Israel, to the statutes and to the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that you may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers gives you.

⁸ You shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatever is right in his own eyes.

¹⁵ And you shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age. ¹⁶ But in the fourth generation they shall come here again: For the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full." ¹⁷ And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. ¹⁸ On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your seed I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates:

⁸ and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land to a good and a large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

⁷ And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, "Is the LORD among us, or not?"

²⁷ I will send My fear before you, and will destroy all the people to whom you shall come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you. ²⁸ And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite, from before you. ²⁹ I will not drive them out from before you in one year; lest the land become desolate, and the wild beast of the field multiply against you. ³⁰ Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you are increased, and inherit the land.

² And I will send an angel before you; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:

²⁸ And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sins ignorantly, when he sins by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him. ²⁹ You shall have one law for him that sins through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourns among them. ³⁰ But the soul that does ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproaches the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

²⁶ For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as we have, and lived?

¹ When the LORD your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you;

¹⁷ Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come on us, because our God is not among us?

⁴⁵ There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel; all came to pass.

³¹ And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that the LORD is among us, because you have not committed this trespass against the LORD: Now you have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the LORD.

¹² And the angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, "The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor. ¹³ And Gideon said to him, "Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? And where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, "Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? But now the LORD has forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

²⁶ And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, "What shall be done to the man that kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?"

³⁶ And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, "LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that you are God in Israel, and that I am your servant, and that I have done all these things at your word. ³⁷ Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that you are the LORD God, and that you have turned their heart back again.

²⁸ And Micaiah said, "If you return at all in peace, the LORD has not spoken by me. And he said, "Listen, O people, every one of you.

⁴ It may be the LORD your God will hear all the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the LORD your God has heard: Why lift up your prayer for the remnant that are left.

¹⁶ The LORD is known by the judgment which He executes: The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

² How you drove out the heathen with Your hand, and planted them; how You afflicted the people, and cast them out. ³ For they did not get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: But Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You brought to pass a favor to them.

¹⁴ Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

¹⁰ But the LORD is the true God, He is the living God, and an everlasting King: At His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide His indignation.

¹⁰ Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not My people', there it shall be said to them, 'You are the sons of the living God.'

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

⁶⁹ And we believe and are sure that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

⁹ For they themselves bring word to us regarding what manner of entering in we had used among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

¹² As for My people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.

⁵ For your Maker is your husband; the LORD of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; He shall be called the God of the whole earth.

⁷ Who would not fear you, O King of nations? For to you it does appertain: For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like to You.

¹³ "Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: For I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hoofs brass: And you shall beat in pieces many people: And I will consecrate their gain to the LORD, and their substance to the Lord of the whole earth."

¹¹ The LORD will be terrible to them: For He will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship Him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.

¹⁴ Then he said, "These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth."

⁵ And the angel answered and said to me, "These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.

⁹ And the LORD shall be King over all the earth: In that day there shall be one LORD, and His name one.

² take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

⁴ Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:

⁹ And Joshua set up twelve stones in the middle of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bore the ark of the covenant stood: And they are there to this day.

¹⁹ And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them: ²⁰ And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them behind, but it gave light by night to these in front: So that the one did not come near the other all through the night. ²¹ And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. ²² And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground: And the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

⁸ And with the blast of Your nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as a heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.

¹¹ Behold, the ark of the covenant of the LORD of all the earth passes over before you into Jordan.

¹⁵ and as those that bore the ark were come to Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bore the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overflows all his banks all the time of harvest), ¹⁶ That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up on a heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: And those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: And the people passed over right against Jericho.

⁷ He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap: He lays up the depth in storehouses.

¹³ He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and He made the waters to stand as a heap.

³ The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. ⁴ The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. ⁵ What ailed you, O sea, that you fled? O Jordan, that you were driven back?

¹⁵ You walked through the sea with Your horses, through the heap of great waters.

²⁶ take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against you.

⁸ Arise, O LORD, into Your rest; You, and the ark of Your strength.

¹⁶ And it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days', said the LORD, 'they shall say no more, "The ark of the covenant of the LORD": Neither shall it come to mind: Neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.

⁴⁴ "Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He had appointed, speaking to Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen. ⁴⁵ Which also our fathers that came afterwards, brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers, even until the days of David;

²⁴ but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. ²⁵ For the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

⁴ which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on every side with gold, within which was the golden pot that had manna, Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;

¹⁰ speak to the children of Israel, and say to them, When you be come into the land which I give to you, and shall reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest to the priest: ¹¹ And he shall wave the sheaf before the LORD, to be accepted for you: On the next day after the Sabbath the priest shall wave it. ¹² And you shall offer that day when you wave the sheaf a he lamb without blemish of the first year for a burnt offering to the LORD. ¹³ And the food offering of it shall be two tenth deals of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire to the LORD for a sweet smell: And the drink offering of it shall be of wine, the fourth part of a hin. ¹⁴ And you shall eat neither bread, nor parched grain kernels, nor green ears, until the same day that you have brought an offering to your God: It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. ¹⁵ And you shall count to you from the next day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven Sabbaths shall be complete: ¹⁶ Even to the next day after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new food offering to the LORD.

¹ Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover to the LORD your God: For in the month of Abib the LORD your God brought you forth out of Egypt by night. ² You shall therefore sacrifice the Passover to the LORD your God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name there. ³ You shall eat no leavened bread with it; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread therewith, even the bread of affliction; for you came forth out of the land of Egypt in haste: That you may remember the day when you came forth out of the land of Egypt all the days of your life. ⁴ And there shall be no leavened bread seen with you in all your coast seven days; neither shall there anything of the flesh, which you sacrificed the first day at sunset, remain all night until the morning. ⁵ You may not sacrifice the Passover within any of your gates, which the LORD your God gives you: ⁶ But at the place which the LORD your God shall choose to place his name in, there you shall sacrifice the Passover at sunset, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came forth out of Egypt. ⁷ And you shall roast and eat it in the place which the LORD your God shall choose: And you shall turn in the morning, and go to your tents. ⁸ Six days you shall eat unleavened bread: And on the seventh day shall be a solemn assembly to the LORD your God: You shall do no work in it. ⁹ Seven weeks shall you number to you: Begin to number the seven weeks from such time as you begin to put the sickle to the grain.

¹⁸ And it came to pass, when the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD were come up out of the middle of Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet were lifted up to the dry land, that the waters of Jordan returned to their place, and flowed over all his banks, as they did before.

¹⁰ And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at sunset in the plains of Jericho. ¹¹ And they ate of the old grain of the land on the next day after the Passover, unleavened cakes, and parched grain kernels in the same day. ¹² And the manna ceased on the next day after they had eaten of the old grain of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.

¹⁵ These are those that went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all his banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.

⁶ The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy."

⁵ If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace, in which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the swelling of the Jordan?

¹⁹ Behold, he shall come up from the swelling of Jordan like a lion against the habitation of the strong: But I will suddenly make him run away from her: And who is a chosen man, whom I may appoint over her? For who is like me? And who will appoint Me the time? And who is that shepherd who will stand before Me?

³ All these were joined together in the valley of Siddim, which is the salt sea.

³ Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the border of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost border of the salt sea eastward:

¹ These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain in front of the Red sea, between Paran, and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

¹⁷ the plain also, and Jordan, and its coast, from Chinnereth even to the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ashdothpisgah eastward.

² And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looks southward:

¹² Baana the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo, and all Bethshean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah, even to the place that is beyond Jokneam:

⁴⁶ In the plain of the Jordan river did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan.

¹⁰ The LORD sits upon the flood; yes, the LORD sits King forever.

⁶ He turned the sea into dry land: They went through the flood on foot: There we rejoiced in Him.

¹⁵ You divided the fountain and the flood: You dried up mighty rivers.

¹⁹ Your way is in the sea, and Your path in the great waters, and Your footsteps are not known.

³ The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back.

²⁶ But He said to them, "Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?" Then He arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. ²⁷ So the men marveled, saying, "What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?"

²⁴ But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed by the waves: For the wind was contrary. ²⁵ And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. ²⁶ And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a spirit"; and they cried out for fear. ²⁷ But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer; it is I; do not be afraid." ²⁸ And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." ²⁹ And He said, "Come." And when Peter had come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. ³⁰ But when he saw the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me." ³¹ And immediately Jesus stretched forth His hand, and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" ³² And when they came into the ship, the wind ceased. ³³ Then those who were in the ship came and worshiped Him, saying, "Truly You are the Son of God."

²² And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground: And the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

²⁹ But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand, and on their left.

³ and command you them, saying, "Take you hence out of the middle of Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood firm, twelve stones, and you shall carry them over with you, and leave them in the lodging place, where you shall lodge this night.

⁸ And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided here and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground.

⁸ He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and He shall take away the rebuke of His people from off all the earth: For the LORD has spoken it.

²⁹ By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land: Which the Egyptians attempting to do were drowned.
