¹ Then the Pharisees and certain ones of the scribes came together to Him, having come from Jerusalem. ² And when they saw some of His disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashed hands, they found fault. ³ For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands often, holding the tradition of the elders. ⁴ And when they come from the market, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other things which they have received to keep, like the washing of cups, pots, brazen vessels, and of tables. ⁵ Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, "Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?" ⁶ He answered and said to them, "Isaiah has prophesied well of you hypocrites, as it is written, 'This people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. ⁷ Moreover they worship Me in vain, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' ⁸ For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, like with the washing of pots and cups; and many other such things you do." ⁹ And He said to them, "Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition. ¹⁰ For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'Whoever curses father or mother, let him die the death': ¹¹ But you say, 'If a man says to his father or mother, "Whatever you might be profited through me is Corban" ', that is to say, a gift; he shall be free of obligation. ¹² And you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or his mother; ¹³ making the Word of God of no effect through your tradition, which you have passed down: And many such similar things you do." ¹⁴ And when He had called all the people to Himself, He said to them, "Hearken to Me, everyone of you, and understand: ¹⁵ There is nothing from outside a man, which entering into him can defile him: But the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile the man. ¹⁶ If any man has ears to hear, let him hear." ¹⁷ And when He had entered into the house away from the people, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable. ¹⁸ And He said to them, "Are you likewise without understanding also? Do you not perceive, that whatever thing from outside which enters into the man, it cannot defile him; ¹⁹ because it does not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and goes out into the drain, purging all foods?" ²⁰ And He said, "That which comes out of the man, that defiles the man. ²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: ²³ All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." ²⁴ And from there He arose, and went inside the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into a house, and would have had no man know it; but He could not be hid. ²⁵ For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of Him, and came and fell at His feet: ²⁶ The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nationality; and she implored Him that He would cast the devil out of her daughter. ²⁷ But Jesus said to her, "Let the children first be filled: For it is not proper to take the children's bread, and to cast it to the dogs." ²⁸ And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord: Yet the dogs under the table eat from the children's crumbs." ²⁹ Then He said to her, "Because of this saying go your way; the devil has gone out of your daughter." ³⁰ And when she had come to her house, she found the devil gone out, and her daughter lying upon the bed. ³¹ And again, departing out of the borders of Tyre and Sidon, He came to the Sea of Galilee, through the midst of the Decapolis. ³² Then they brought to Him one who was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they implored Him to put His hand upon him. ³³ And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers into his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue; ³⁴ And looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, "Ephphatha", that is, "Be opened." ³⁵ And immediately his ears were opened, and the muscle string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. ³⁶ Then He charged them that they should tell no one: But the more He charged them, so much a great deal more they proclaimed it; ³⁷ and they were astonished beyond measure, saying, "He has done all things well: He makes both the deaf to hear, and the mute to speak."

¹ Then the scribes and Pharisees came to Jesus, which were of Jerusalem, saying, ² "Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread." ³ And He answered and said to them, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? ⁴ For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and mother': And, 'He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.' ⁵ But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or his mother, "Whatever you might be profited by me, it is a gift"; ⁶ and does not honor his father or his mother, thinking he shall be exempt.' Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. ⁷ You hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well concerning you, saying: ⁸ 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. ⁹ But in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' " ¹⁰ Then He called the multitude, and said to them, "Hear and understand: ¹¹ That which goes into the mouth does not defile a man; but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." ¹² Then His disciples came, and said to Him, "Do you know that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?" ¹³ But He answered and said, "Every plant, which My heavenly Father has not planted, shall be plucked up by the root. ¹⁴ Leave them alone: They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." ¹⁵ Then Peter answered and said to Him, "Declare this parable plainly to us." ¹⁶ And Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding? ¹⁷ Do you not yet understand that whatever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly, and is cast out into the drain? ¹⁸ But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: ²⁰ These are the things which defile a man: But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man."

²² And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, "He has Beelzebub", and "By the prince of the devils He casts out devils."

¹⁷ And it came to pass on a certain day, as He was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who had come out of every town of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem: And the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

⁵³ And as He said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to quarrel against Him vehemently, and to provoke Him to speak of many things: ⁵⁴ Lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch something out of His mouth, that they might accuse Him.

⁴ Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault; because he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. ⁵ Then these men said, "We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except if we find it against him concerning the law of his God."

³ And why do you behold the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank that is in your own eye? ⁴ Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye'; and behold, a plank is in your own eye? ⁵ You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye; and then you shall see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

²³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law; judgment, mercy, and faith: These you ought to have done, and not leave the others undone. ²⁴ You blind guides, who strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. ²⁵ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the platter, but inside they are full of extortion and excess.

¹⁴ But Peter said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean." ¹⁵ And the voice spoke to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed, do not call that common."

²⁸ Then he said to them, "You know how it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come to one of another nation; but God has showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

⁸ But I said, 'Not so, Lord: For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered into my mouth.'

¹⁴ I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: But to him that esteems anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

¹³ making the Word of God of no effect through your tradition, which you have passed down: And many such similar things you do."

¹⁴ And I profited in the Jews' religion beyond many of my equals in my own nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

⁸ Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the first principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

²¹ ("Do not touch; do not taste; do not handle"; ²² which all concern things that perish with their use); according to the commandments and doctrines of men? ²³ Which things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in willful worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to resist the satisfying of the flesh.

¹⁸ Consider that as you know you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

³⁰ If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean; ³¹ yet shall you plunge me in the ditch, and my own clothes shall abhor me.

⁶ I will wash my hands in innocence: In such a manner I will compass Your altar, O LORD:

¹⁶ Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes; cease to do evil;

¹⁴ O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your vain thoughts lodge within you?

²⁵ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the platter, but inside they are full of extortion and excess.

²⁴ When Pilate saw that he could prevail in nothing, but rather that a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person: You see to it."

³⁸ And when the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before dinner. ³⁹ And the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.

⁶ Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the the manner of purifying of the Jews, containing one half or three-quarters of a barrel each.one half or three-quarters of a barrel: In KJV, two or three firkins; each of which was equivalent to 8 [UK] gallons. Hence all 6 waterpots totaled approximately 115 or 173 [US] gallons; 436 or 655 liters; or, 96 or 144 [UK] gallons.

²⁵ Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

¹⁰ which stood only in foods and drinks, diverse washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

⁸ Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

⁷ But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

¹⁶ And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eat with publicans and sinners, they said to His disciples, "Why is it that He eats and drinks with publicans and sinners?" ¹⁷ When Jesus heard it, He said to them, "Those that are whole have no need of the physician, but those that are sick: I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." ¹⁸ And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: And they came and said to Him, "Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?"

²¹ And they are informed about you, that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, nor to walk according to the customs.

²⁴ take them, and purify yourself with them, and pay their expenses, that they may shave their heads: And all may know that those things, of which they were informed concerning you, are nothing; but that you yourself also walk orderly, and keep the law.

¹² And the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had while still uncircumcised.

⁶ Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves from every brother who walks disorderly, and not according to the tradition which he received from us.

¹¹ For we hear that there are some who walk among you disorderly, not working at all, but are busybodies.

¹³ Therefore the Lord said, "For as much as these people draw near Me with their mouths, and honor Me with their lips, but have removed their hearts far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the precept of men:

³¹ And they come to you according to the coming of the people, and they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they will not do them: For with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their covetousness.

² Israel shall cry out to Me, 'My God, we know You.' ³ Israel has cast off the thing that is good: The enemy shall pursue him.

⁷ You hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well concerning you, saying: ⁸ 'These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips; but their heart is far from Me. ⁹ But in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' "

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: For you neither go in yourselves, nor do you permit those who are entering to go in. ¹⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: Therefore you shall receive the greater damnation. ¹⁵ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

³⁹ And the Lord said to him, "Now you Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness. ⁴⁰ You fools, did not He that made that which is outside make that which is inside also? ⁴¹ But rather give alms of such things as you have; and behold, all things are clean to you. ⁴² But woe to you, Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: These you ought to have done, and not left the others undone. ⁴³ Woe to you, Pharisees! For you love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. ⁴⁴ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are as graves which are not visible, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them."

⁴² But I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you.

⁴¹ You do the deeds of your father." Then they said to Him, "We are not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God." ⁴² Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me: For I proceeded forth and came from God; neither have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

⁵⁴ Jesus answered, "If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing: It is My Father that honors Me; of whom you say that He is your God. ⁵⁵ Yet you have not known Him; but I know Him: And if I should say, 'I do not know Him', I would be a liar like you: But I know Him, and keep His sayings.

²⁴ If I had not done among them the works which no other man did, they would not have had sin: But now they have both seen and hated both Me and My Father.

²⁵ Now when they did not agree among themselves, they departed, after that Paul spoke one word, "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,

⁵ having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it: From such turn away.

¹⁶ They profess that they know God; but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and reprobate to every good work.

¹⁴ What does it profit, my brethren, though a man says he has faith, and does not have works? Can faith save him? ¹⁵ If a brother or sister is naked, and destitute of daily food, ¹⁶ and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled"; but you do not give them those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit? ¹⁷ Even so faith, if it does not have works, is dead, being alone.

³² What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: You shall not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

²¹ and do not turn aside: For then should you go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

¹⁴ You all have said, 'It is vain to serve God: And what profit is it that we have kept His ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

⁷ But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do: For they think that they shall be heard because of their many words.

⁹ But in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.' "

¹⁴ And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is vain, and your faith is also vain.

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, seeing you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

²² which all concern things that perish with their use); according to the commandments and doctrines of men?

¹ Now the Spirit expressly speaks, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; ² speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; ³ forbidding to marry; and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

⁹ But avoid foolish questions, genealogies, contentions, and strivings about the law; because they are unprofitable and vain.

²⁶ If any man among you seems to be religious, and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

²⁰ But are you willing to know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

¹¹ And the smoke of their torment ascends up forever and ever: And they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." ¹² Here is the patience of the saints: Here are those that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

¹⁸ For I testify to every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add to these things, God shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book:

¹² When you come to appear before Me, who has required this at your hand, to tread My courts?

¹⁰ And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus: And king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all its workmanship. ¹¹ And Urijah the priest built an altar according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus: So Urijah the priest made it against king Ahaz came from Damascus. ¹² And when the king was come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: And the king approached to the altar, and offered on it. ¹³ And he burnt his burnt offering and his food offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, on the altar. ¹⁴ And he brought also the brazen altar, which was before the LORD, from the forefront of the house, from between the altar and the house of the LORD, and put it on the north side of the altar. ¹⁵ And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, "On the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening food offering, and the king's burnt sacrifice, and his food offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their food offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: And the brazen altar shall be for me to inquire by. ¹⁶ Thus did Urijah the priest, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.

¹²⁶ It is time for You, LORD, to work: For they have made void Your law.

⁵ The earth is also defiled under its inhabitants; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

¹⁶ "As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you. ¹⁷ But we will certainly do whatever thing goes forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: For then we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.

²⁵ And he shall speak great words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and think to change times and laws; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

³⁶ And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper until the indignation is accomplished: For that which is determined shall be done.

³ For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands often, holding the tradition of the elders.

³¹ Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: Indeed, we establish the law.

²¹ I do not frustrate the grace of God: For if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ died in vain."

⁴ who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself as though he is God.

¹² Honor your father and your mother: That your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God gives you.

¹⁷ And he that curses his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.curses; or, reviles

⁹ For everyone that curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: He has cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be on him.

¹⁶ Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

¹⁶ Cursed be he that sets light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, "Amen.

²⁰ Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

¹⁷ The eye that mocks at his father, and despises to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

⁴ For God commanded, saying, 'Honor your father and mother': And, 'He that curses father or mother, let him die the death.'

¹⁹ You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery', 'Do not kill', 'Do not steal', 'Do not bear false witness', 'Do not defraud', 'Honor your father and your mother.' "

⁵ But you say, 'Whoever says to his father or his mother, "Whatever you might be profited by me, it is a gift";

¹⁸ And, 'Whoever swears by the altar, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gift that is upon it, he is bound.'

⁴ But if any widow has children or nephews, let them first learn to show piety at home, and to repay their parents: For this is good and acceptable before God. ⁵ Now she who is indeed a widow, and desolate, trusts in God, and continues in supplications and prayers night and day. ⁶ But she that lives in pleasure is dead while she lives. ⁷ And these things give as instructions, that they may be blameless. ⁸ But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

²⁰ To the law and to the testimony: If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

⁸ How do you say, 'We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us?' See, certainly in vain he made it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. ⁹ The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: Lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?

¹⁴ Now, lo, if he beget a son, who sees all his father's sins which he has done, and considers, and does not such like,

¹² I have written to him the great things of My law, but they were counted as a strange thing.

¹⁷ Do not think that I have come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I did not come to destroy, but to fulfill. ¹⁸ For truly I say to you, Until heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall by no means pass from the law, until all is fulfilled. ¹⁹ Whoever therefore breaks one of these least commandments, and teaches men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: But whoever does and teaches them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. ²⁰ For I say to you, That unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

⁶ and does not honor his father or his mother, thinking he shall be exempt.' Thus you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

⁹ And He said to them, "Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition.

²¹ envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, as I have also told you in time past, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁴ not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.

²¹ And Elijah came to all the people, and said, "How long halt you between two opinions? If the LORD be God, follow him: But if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

²⁸ And Micaiah said, "If you return at all in peace, the LORD has not spoken by me. And he said, "Listen, O people, every one of you.

¹ To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah. Hear this, all you people; give ear, you inhabitants of the world: ² Both low and high, rich and poor, together.

⁸ Understand, you brutish among the people: And you fools, when will you be wise?

⁵ O you simple, understand wisdom: And, you fools, be of an understanding heart.

⁹ And He said, "Go, and tell this people, 'You indeed hear, but do not understand; and you see indeed, but do not perceive.'

¹⁰ Then He called the multitude, and said to them, "Hear and understand:

¹ In the meantime, when there was an innumerable multitude of people gathered together, so that they trod upon one another, He began to say first of all to His disciples, "Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

⁵⁴ Moreover He also said to the people, "When you see a cloud rise out of the west, immediately you say, 'There comes a shower'; and so it is. ⁵⁵ And when you see the south wind blow, you say, 'There will be heat'; and it comes to pass. ⁵⁶ You hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that you do not discern this time? ⁵⁷ Yes, and why do you not judge what is right, even of yourselves?

⁴⁵ Then, in the audience of all the people He said to His disciples, ⁴⁶ "Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts; ⁴⁷ which devour widows' houses, and for a show make long prayers: The same shall receive greater damnation."

³⁰ And Philip ran over to him, and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said, "Do you understand what you read?"

⁴² Whatever goes on the belly, and whatever goes on all four, or whatever has more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them you shall not eat; for they are an abomination. ⁴³ You shall not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps, neither shall you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled thereby. ⁴⁴ For I am the LORD your God: You shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy: Neither shall you defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. ⁴⁵ For I am the LORD that brings you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. ⁴⁶ This is the law of the beasts, and of the fowl, and of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps upon the earth: ⁴⁷ To make a difference between the unclean and the clean, and between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten.

²³ Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

³⁴ O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

¹⁶ And Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding?

¹⁸ And He said to them, "Are you likewise without understanding also? Do you not perceive, that whatever thing from outside which enters into the man, it cannot defile him; ¹⁹ because it does not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and goes out into the drain, purging all foods?" ²⁰ And He said, "That which comes out of the man, that defiles the man. ²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: ²³ All these evil things come from within, and defile the man."

¹⁴ But Peter said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean." ¹⁵ And the voice spoke to him again the second time, "What God has cleansed, do not call that common." ¹⁶ This was done three times: And the vessel was received again into heaven.

⁸ But I said, 'Not so, Lord: For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered into my mouth.' ⁹ But the voice answered me again from heaven, 'What God has cleansed, do not call that common.' ¹⁰ Moreover this was done three times: And all were drawn up again into heaven.

²⁰ But that we write to them that they abstain from pollutions of idols, from fornication, from things strangled, and from blood. ²¹ For since old times there is in every city those who preach Moses, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day."

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not food and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.

²⁵ Eat whatever is sold in the meat market, asking no questions for conscience' sake:

³ forbidding to marry; and commanding to abstain from meats, which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ⁴ For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused, if it is received with thanksgiving: ⁵ For it is sanctified by the Word of God and prayer.

¹⁵ To the pure all things are pure: But to those that are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.

⁹ Do not be carried about with diverse and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with foods, which have not profited those who have been occupied with that.

¹⁰ And the disciples came, and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?"

³⁶ Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: And His disciples came to Him, saying, "Declare to us plainly the parable of the tares of the field."

¹⁵ Then Peter answered and said to Him, "Declare this parable plainly to us."

¹⁰ And when He was alone, those who were around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable.

³⁴ But He did not speak to them without a parable: And when they were alone, He expounded all things to His disciples.

²⁸ And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, "Why couldn't we cast it out?"

⁹ Whom shall He teach knowledge? And whom shall He make to understand doctrine? Those who are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. ¹⁰ For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

⁴ Therefore I said, "Surely these are poor; they are foolish: For they do not know the way of the LORD, nor the judgment of their God. ⁵ I will go myself to the great men, and will speak to them; for they have known the way of the LORD, and the judgment of their God: But these have altogether broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

¹⁶ And Jesus said, "Are you also still without understanding? ¹⁷ Do you not yet understand that whatever enters in at the mouth goes into the belly, and is cast out into the drain?

¹¹ How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread, rather that you should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?"

¹³ And He said to them, "Do you not know this parable? And how then will you know all parables?

²⁵ Then He said to them, "O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you a master of Israel, and do not know these things?

² I have fed you with milk, and not with food: For until now you were not able to bear it, even now you still are not able.

¹¹ Of whom we have many things to say, yet they are hard to utter, seeing you are dull of hearing.

Let every man be fully pursuaded in his own mind. ⁶ He who regards the day, regards it to the Lord; and he that does not regard the day, to the Lord he does not regard it. He that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. ⁷ For none of us lives to himself, and no man dies to himself. ⁸ For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord: Whether we therefore live, or die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ Because, for this purpose Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. ¹⁰ But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you disregard your brother as nothing? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. ¹¹ For it is written, "As I live, says the LORD, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God." ¹² So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

¹³ Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods: But God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

¹⁶ Therefore let no man judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect to a holy-day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath days:

²¹ ("Do not touch; do not taste; do not handle"; ²² which all concern things that perish with their use); according to the commandments and doctrines of men?

⁶ And if he comes to see me, he speaks vanity: His heart gathers iniquity to itself; when he goes abroad, he tells it.

¹ Woe to those that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! When the morning is light, they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

¹ From what source do wars and fighting come from among you? Do they not come from this, even out of your lusts that war in your members?

⁵ And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

²¹ And the LORD smelled a sweet savor; and the LORD said in his heart, "I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

⁴ Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

¹⁴ What is man, that he should be clean? And he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous? ¹⁵ Behold, he puts no trust in his saints; yes, the heavens are not clean in his sight. ¹⁶ How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinks iniquity like water?

⁴ How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?

⁹ The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: Who can know it?

¹⁰ Thus says the Lord GOD; "It shall also come to pass, that at the same time things shall come into your mind, and you shall think an evil thought:

⁴ But Jesus knowing their thoughts said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?

¹⁹ For out of the heart proceeds evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

²⁵ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the platter, but inside they are full of extortion and excess. ²⁶ You blind Pharisee, first cleanse that which is inside the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. ²⁷ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are similar to whitened sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. ²⁸ Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

⁴ While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own power? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God."

²² Therefore repent of this, your wickedness, and beseech God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

⁵ For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit to death.

⁸ But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, worked in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.

⁷ Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: For it is not subject to the law of God, indeed neither can be. ⁸ So then, those that are in the flesh cannot please God.

³ For we ourselves were also sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving diverse lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

⁴ Are you then not partial within yourselves, and have become judges of evil thoughts?

¹ From what source do wars and fighting come from among you? Do they not come from this, even out of your lusts that war in your members? ² You lust, and have not: You kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: You fight and war, yet you do not have, because you do not ask. ³ You ask, and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may consume it upon your lusts.

² that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. ³ For the years past of our life may suffice for us to have worked the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revelries, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:

⁹ Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, "The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing; and he cry to the LORD against you, and it be sin to you.

⁵⁶ The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

⁸ And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, "They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: And what more can he have but the kingdom?" ⁹ And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.

³¹ However, in the business of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent to him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.

⁴ The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

²³ A prudent man conceals knowledge: But the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.

²³ But if your eye is evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

¹⁵ Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? Is your eye evil because I am good?'

⁵ casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;

¹⁵ For thus is the will of God, that with well doing you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

⁵ Likewise you younger ones, submit yourselves to the elder. Yes, all of you be subject to one another, and be clothed with humility: For "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

¹⁸ And He said to them, "Are you likewise without understanding also? Do you not perceive, that whatever thing from outside which enters into the man, it cannot defile him;

²⁸ and Hebron, and Rehob, and Hammon, and Kanah, even to great Zidon; ²⁹ and then the coast turns to Ramah, and to the strong city Tyre; and the coast turns to Hosah; and its outgoings are at the sea from the coast to Achzib:

¹ The burden of Tyre. Howl, you ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: It is revealed to them from the land of Chittim. ² Be still, you inhabitants of the isle; you whom the merchants of Zidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished. ³ And by great waters the seed of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her revenue; and she is a mart of nations. ⁴ You should be ashamed, O Zidon: For the sea has spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, "I do not travail, nor bring forth children, neither do I nourish up young men, nor bring up virgins.

¹² And He said, "You shall rejoice no more, O you oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon: Arise, pass over to Chittim; there also you shall have no rest."

²¹ "Son of man, set your face against Zidon, and prophesy against it, ²² and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD; "Behold, I am against you, O Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of you: And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be sanctified in her.

²⁸ And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him: And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."

²¹ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

²¹ Then Jesus went from that place, and departed into the borders of Tyre and Sidon. ²² And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same borders, and cried to Him, saying, "Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil." ²³ But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, "Send her away; for she cries out after us." ²⁴ But He answered and said, "I am not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." ²⁵ Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, help me." ²⁶ But He answered and said, "It is not proper to take the children's bread, and throw it to dogs." ²⁷ And she said, "True, Lord: Yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." ²⁸ Then Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith: Be it to you even as you intend." And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

¹ And after some days He entered again into Capernaum; and it was spread by report that He was in the house.

⁷ But Jesus withdrew Himself with His disciples to the sea: And a large multitude from Galilee followed Him, and from Judea, ⁸ also from Jerusalem, and Idumea, and from beyond the Jordan; and those around Tyre and Sidon, when they had heard what great things He did, a large multitude came to Him.

³¹ And He said to them, "Come out by yourselves into a deserted place, and rest a while": For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure time even so much as to eat. ³² Therefore they departed into a deserted place by ship privately.

²² And behold, there came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw Him, he fell at His feet, ²³ and implored Him greatly, saying, "My little daughter lies at the point of death: I beseech you, come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live."

³³ But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before Him, and told Him all the truth.

¹⁷ Then one of the multitude answered and said, "Master, I brought my son to You, who has a mute spirit; ¹⁸ and wherever it takes him, it dashes him: And he foams, gnashes with his teeth, and withers away: Therefore I spoke to Your disciples, that they should cast it out; but they could not." ¹⁹ He answered him, and said, "O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me." ²⁰ Then they brought him to Him: And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit dashed him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. ²¹ So He asked his father, "How long ago was it since this came to him?" And he said, "From childhood. ²² And oftentimes it has cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: But if You can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us." ²³ Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believes."

¹⁶ and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks: And he was a Samaritan.

²⁵ And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him, and fell down at his feet, and worshiped him. ²⁶ But Peter lifted him up, saying, "Stand up; I myself also am a man."

And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things. ⁹ Then he said to me, "See that you do not do it: For I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: Worship God."

¹² Behold, these shall come from afar: And lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim."

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond-servant nor free, there is neither male nor female: For you are all one in Christ Jesus.

⁶ Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and tear you to pieces.

⁵ These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, "Do not go onto the highway of the Gentiles, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans:

²¹ Then He said to me, 'Depart: For I will send you far from this place to the Gentiles.' "

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers:

¹² because at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

¹⁶ You open Your hand, and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

²² Look to Me, and you will be saved, all the ends of the earth: For I am God, and there is none other.

⁶ And He said, 'It is a light thing that You should be My servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give You for a light to the Gentiles, that You may be My salvation to the end of the earth.' "

⁴⁵ that you may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

⁶ Then Jesus went with them. And when He was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself: For I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof: ⁷ Therefore I neither did I count myself worthy to come to You: But say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. ⁸ For I also am a man set under authority, having soldiers under me, and I say to one, 'Go', and he goes; and to another, 'Come', and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this', and he does it."

³⁰ But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your estate with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.' ³¹ And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours. ³² It was proper that we should make merry, and be glad: For your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.' "

¹⁷ Seeing then that God gave them the same gift as He did to us, who believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ; who was I, that I could withstand God?" ¹⁸ When they heard these things, they held their peace; and glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life."

²⁹ Is He the God of the Jews only? Is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

¹² For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: For the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

⁸ Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers: ⁹ And that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy; as it is written, "For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, and sing to Your name."

¹² because at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who sometimes were far off are brought near by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For He is our peace, who has made both [Jew and Gentile] one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation between us;

⁸ To me, who am less than the least of all saints, this grace is given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

¹⁵ For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. ¹⁶ For I will not contend forever, neither will I always be wroth: For the spirit would fail before Me, and the souls which I have made.

² For all those things My hand has made, and all those things have been in existence", said the LORD: "but to this man I will look, even to him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at My word.

³ "Blessed are the poor in spirit: For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

⁹ For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: And I say to this man, 'Go', and he goes; and to another, 'Come', and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this', and he does it." ¹⁰ When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, "Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel. ¹¹ And I say to you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. ¹² But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." ¹³ And Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so be it done to you." And his servant was healed that same hour.

⁸ He that commits sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

⁵⁰ Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your son lives." And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken to him, and he went his way. ⁵¹ And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, "Your son lives." ⁵² Then he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. And they said to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him."

¹⁸ And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: For they were fishermen.

²⁵ And large multitudes of people followed Him from Galilee, from Decapolis, from Jerusalem, from Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.

²⁹ Then Jesus departed from that place, and came near to the sea of Galilee; and went up into a mountain, and sat down there. ³⁰ And large multitudes came to Him, having with them those that were lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others, and cast them down at Jesus' feet; and He healed them: ³¹ So that the multitude wondered, when they saw the mute to speak, the maimed be made whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: And they glorified the God of Israel.

²⁰ And he departed, and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him: And all men marveled.

²⁴ And from there He arose, and went inside the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into a house, and would have had no man know it; but He could not be hid.

³² As they went out, behold, they brought to Him a mute man possessed with a devil. ³³ And when the devil was cast out, the mute spoke: And the multitudes marveled, saying, "It was never so seen in Israel."

²³ and implored Him greatly, saying, "My little daughter lies at the point of death: I beseech you, come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live."

¹⁴ And He was casting out a devil, and it was mute. And it came to pass, when the devil had gone out, the mute spoke; and the people wondered.

¹⁹ And he said to her, "Give me your son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he stayed, and laid him on his own bed. ²⁰ And he cried out to the LORD, and said, "O LORD my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son? ²¹ And he stretched himself on the child three times, and cried out to the LORD, and said, "O LORD my God, I implore you, let this child's soul come into him again. ²² And the LORD heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

⁴ And when you have come in, you shall shut the door on you and on your sons, and shall pour out into all those vessels, and you shall set aside that which is full. ⁵ So she went from him, and shut the door on her and on her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. ⁶ And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said to her, "There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

³³ He went in therefore, and shut the door on them two, and prayed to the LORD. ³⁴ And he went up, and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands on his hands: And stretched himself on the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.

⁴⁰ And they laughed Him to scorn. But when He had put them all out, He took the father and the mother of the damsel, and those who were with Him, and entered in where the damsel was lying.

²³ And He took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when He had spat on his eyes, and put His hands upon him, He asked him if he saw anything.

⁶ When He had spoken in this manner, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay; ⁷ and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which by interpretation is, Sent). Therefore he went his way, washed, and came back seeing.

³ He is despised and rejected by men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid our faces from Him as it were; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.

⁶ Sigh therefore, you son of man, with the breaking of your loins; and sigh before their eyes with bitterness. ⁷ And it shall be, when they say to you, 'Why do you sigh?' That you shall answer, 'For the tidings; because it comes: And every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak like water': Behold, it comes, and shall be brought to pass", said the Lord GOD.

⁴¹ Now Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth His hand, and touched him, and said to him, "I will: You, be clean."

⁴¹ Then He took the damsel by the hand, and said to her, "Talitha cumi"; which being interpreted is, "Damsel, I say to you, Arise."

⁴¹ And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all.

¹² Then He sighed deeply in His spirit, and said, "Why does this generation seek after a sign? Truly I say to you, There shall be no sign given to this generation."

³⁴ Then at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which being interpreted is, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"

¹⁴ Then He came and touched the coffin: And those who bore him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, Arise."

⁴² Then Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight: Your faith has saved you."

⁴¹ And when He drew near, He beheld the city, and wept over it,

³³ Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her also weeping, He groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,

³⁵ Jesus wept.

³⁸ Therefore Jesus again groaning in Himself came to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

⁴¹ Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up His eyes, and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.

⁴³ And when He had spoken in this manner, He cried out with a loud voice, "Lazarus, come forth!"

¹ Jesus spoke these words, and lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You:

³⁴ And Peter said to him, "Aeneas, Jesus Christ makes you whole: Arise, and make your bed." Then he arose immediately.

⁴⁰ But Peter put them all out, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning himself toward the body said, "Tabitha, arise." And she opened her eyes: And when she saw Peter, she sat up.

¹⁵ For we do not have a High Priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.

⁹ For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

³ And the eyes of those who see shall not be dim, and the ears of those who hear shall listen. ⁴ The heart of the rash shall also understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.

⁵ Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. ⁶ Then the lame man shall leap as a stag, and the tongue of the mute sing: For in the wilderness waters shall break out, and streams in the desert.

⁵ The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

¹² And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; so that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, "We never saw anything done in this fashion."

⁴ And Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no man; but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."

⁴⁴ and said to him, "See that you say nothing to any man: But go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing those things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them." ⁴⁵ But he went out, and began to proclaim it often, and to spread the matter abroad, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter into the city, but was outside in deserted places: And they came to Him from every quarter.

¹² Therefore He strictly charged them that they should not make Him known.

⁴³ And He charged them strictly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

²⁶ Then He sent him away to his house, saying, "Neither go into the town, nor tell it to anyone in the town."

³¹ And God saw every thing that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

¹⁰ And Moses said to the LORD, "O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither before, nor since You have spoken to Your servant: But I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue." ¹¹ And the LORD said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? Have not I the LORD?

¹⁴ I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: Marvelous are Your works; and that my soul knows truly well.

²⁷ Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, "What thing is this? What new doctrine is this? For with authority He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him."

⁴¹ And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, "What sort of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?"

⁴² And immediately the damsel arose, and walked; for she was twelve years of age. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

⁵¹ Then He went up to them into the ship; and the wind ceased: And they were exceedingly amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

⁴¹ And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: But this Man has done nothing amiss."

⁷ And they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, "Behold, are not all these who speak Galileans? ⁸ And how come we hear every man in our own tongue, in which we were born? ⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, ¹⁰ Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya around Cyrene, strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretes and Arabians, we hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God." ¹² And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying to one another, "What could this mean?"

¹⁰ And they knew it was he that sat begging for charitable alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple: Therefore they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. ¹¹ Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. ¹² Now when Peter saw it, he answered to the people, "You men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why do you look so earnestly upon us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man walk? ¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus; whom you delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.

¹¹ Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, "The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men."
