¹⁴ Do not enter into the path of the wicked, and do not go in the way of evil men. ¹⁵ Avoid it, do not pass by it, turn from it, and pass away.

³² But whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding: He that does it destroys his own soul.

⁷ and beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

⁶ Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

¹³ A foolish woman is clamorous: She is simple, and knows nothing.

¹⁶ "Whoever is simple, let him turn in here": And as for him that wants understanding, she says to him,

²⁰ He that walks with wise men shall be wise: But a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

²³ Much food is in the tilled land of the poor: But there is that which is destroyed for absence of judgment.

⁴ Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: But much increase is by the strength of the ox.

²³ In all labor there is profit: But the talk of the lips tends only to penury.

²⁷ And you shall have enough goats' milk for your food, for the food of your household, and for the sustenance of your maidens.

¹⁹ He that tills his land shall have plenty of bread: But he that follows after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

⁸ Those that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.

²⁸ Let him that stole steal no more: But rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needs.

¹¹ and that you study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; ¹² that you may walk honestly toward those who are outside, and that you may lack nothing.

⁸ neither did we eat any man's bread for nothing: But worked with labor and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable with a fault to any of you:

¹⁰ For there are many unruly and vain talkers, and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision: ¹¹ Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not to, for the sake of filthy profit.
