¹² The wicked desires the net of evil men: But the root of the righteous yields fruit.

³ And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

¹⁵ The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: Their own foot is caught in the net which they hid.

⁹ He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den: He lies in wait to catch the poor: He does catch the poor, when he draws him into his net.

¹⁷ Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. ¹⁸ And they lay in wait for their own blood; they lurk privately for their own lives. ¹⁹ So are the ways of everyone that is greedy of gain; which takes away the life of its owners.

¹⁵ The rich man's wealth is his strong city: The destruction of the poor is their poverty.

⁵ A man that flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet. ⁶ In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: But the righteous does sing and rejoice.

⁶ He shall cause those that come of Jacob to take root: Israel shall blossom and bud, and fill the face of the world with fruit.

³¹ And the remnant of the house of Judah who have escaped shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:

²⁶ 'For among My people are found wicked men: They lay wait, as he who sets snares; they set a trap, they catch men. ²⁷ As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: Therefore they have become great, and waxen rich. ²⁸ They are waxen fat, they shine: Yes, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: They do not judge the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy they do not judge.

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. ⁸ For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, and which spreads out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but her leaves shall be green; and shall not be anxious in the year of drought, nor shall cease from yielding fruit.

² The good man has perished out of the earth: And there is none upright among men: They all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man, his brother, with a net.good; or, godly, or, merciful

¹⁵ They take all of them up with the hook, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their dragnet: Therefore they rejoice and are glad. ¹⁶ Therefore they sacrifice to their net, and burn incense to their dragnet; because by them their portion is fat, and their meat plenteous. ¹⁷ Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare to continually slay the nations?

¹³ Those upon the rock are they which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. ¹⁴ And that which fell among thorns are they which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. ¹⁵ But that on the good ground are those, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

⁵ I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: For without Me you can do nothing.

¹⁶ You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bear forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: That whatever you shall ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you.

²² But now being made free from sin, and having become servants to God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end everlasting life.
