They were thirty seven in all.

Kill him, and bury him, and take away this day, the blood which he shed without cause, from me and my father's house. ³² The Lord indeed hath turned the blood of his iniquity on his head. Because he fell upon two men more righteous, and better than himself, and slew them with the sword, and my father David knew not of their blood, namely Abenner, son of Ner, the captain general of Israel, and Amessai, son of Jether, the captain general of Juda; ³³ therefore their blood is returned on his own head, and on the head of his seed forever. But on David, and his seed, and on his house, and his throne, let there be peace from the Lord forever. ³⁴ So Banaias, son of Jodae, went up, and fell upon Joab; and when he had slain him, he buried him, at his house in the wilderness; ³⁵ and the king set Banaias, son of Jodae, over the army in his stead.

³⁸ All these warriors were arrayed for battle, with a peaceable intention. They came to Chebron to make David king over all Israel. ⁵ whenever you shall hear the sound of the trumpet and syrinx and of the kithara and sanibuk and of the psaltery, and all kinds of musical instruments, prostrate yourselves and worship the golden image which Nabuchodonosar the king hath set up.

⁹ "king, live forever! thou, king,

³⁴ And at the end of the days I Nabuchodonosar lifted up mine eyes to heaven, and mine understanding was restored to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and glorified him who liveth forever; for his dominion is an everlasting dominion and his kingdom is to endless generations,

⁴ And having drunk wine they praised the gods of gold and silver and brass and wood and stone. ⁵ At that very hour there came forth fingers of a man's hand and wrote over against the lamp, on the plaistering of the wall of the king's palace. And the king beheld with astonishment the joint of the hand that was writing. ⁶ Whereupon the king's countenance changed and his thoughts troubled him and the joints of his loins were loosened and his knees smote one against another.

¹⁰ Then the queen came to the banquet house and said, king, live forever! Let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor thy countenance change.

²⁶ The interpretation of the decree is this. Mane; God hath measured thy kingdom and brought it to a conclusion. ²⁷ Thekel; It hath been weighed in a balance and found wanting. ²⁸ Phares; Thy kingdom is taken away and given to Medes and Persians.

⁶ Then the ministers and the governors waited on the king, and said to him, King Darius live forever!

²¹ Thereupon Daniel said to the king, king live forever!

¹⁴ And to him was given the government and the honour and the kingdom; and all the peoples, tribes and languages are to serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall never pass away, and his kingdom shall not be destroyed.

²⁰ Now whilst I was still speaking and praying and confessing mine own sins and the sins of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the mount of the sanctuary;

⁵ Trust not in friends, nor confide in rulers, against the wife of thy bosom be on thy guard; to trust nothing to her:

⁵ [J] Alas for them who inhabit the sea coast; the emigrants from Crete! a word of the Lord is against you in Chanaan, the land of the Philistines, and I will destroy you from your habitations.

²² and I will overthrow the thrones of kings and destroy the power of the kings of the nations: and I will overthrow the chariots and the charioteers; and horses and their riders shall come down every one with a sword against his brother.

⁹ since with regard to that stone which I have set before Jesus, upon that one stone there are seven eyes; behold I am digging a pit saith the Lord Almighty, and I will feel all the iniquity of this land in one day.

⁹ Rejoice exceedingly, O daughter of Sion! Make proclamation, daughter of Jerusalem! Behold thy king is coming for thee. He is righteous and a saviour. He is meek and mounted on an ass, even a young colt.

¹³ the family of the house of Levi by itself and their women by themselves; the family of Symeon by itself and their women by themselves;

²³ "The virgin shall conceive and bear a son and thou shalt call his name Emmanuel," the meaning of which is, God with us:

²⁵ but knew her not until she brought forth this her son, The First BORN and he called his name Jesus.

¹³ and bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil [for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory for the ages, amen.

³⁰ Nay, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

²¹ Whereupon he said to her, What is thy desire? She said to him, Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on thy right hand and the other on thy left in thy kingdom.

³² Whereupon, Jesus, stopping, called them and said, What do you desire me to do for you?

¹⁵ When the chief priests and the Scribes saw the wonders which he did, and the children shouting in the temple, and saying, Hosannah to the son of David, they were filled with indignation,

³⁷ At last he sent to them his son, saying, They will reverence my son. ³⁸ But when the tenants saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir. Come let us kill him and keep possession of his inheritance.

³⁸ For as in those days, before the deluge, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, till Noe entered the ark; ³⁹ and they did not know till the flood came and swept them all away; so will this coming of the son of man be.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all that I commanded you. And lo! I am with you all the days to the conclusion of this age. Amen.

⁹ And they who went before, and they who followed, cried, saying, Hosanna! Blessed he who is coming in the name of the Lord! ¹⁰ Blessed the approaching reign of our father David! that coming in the name of the Lord, Hosanna, in the highest!

⁷ Now they had no child, as Elizabeth was barren. And they were both advanced in years.

³² He will be great and will be called the son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. ³³ And he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. And of his kingdom there shall be no end.

⁴⁶ Then Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord: ⁴⁷ and my spirit exulteth in God, my Saviour:

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; because he hath visited and delivered his people. ⁶⁹ He indeed hath raised up for us a horn of salvation in the house of his servant David

¹¹ For whoever exalteth himself, shall be humbled, and he who humbleth. himself, shall be exalted.

²⁶ And as it was in the days of Noe, so will it be in the days of the son of man. ²⁷ They ate; they drank; they married, and were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered the ark; and the flood came and destroyed them all. ²⁸ Just so it was also in the days of Lot. They ate; they drank; they bought; they sold; they planted; they built: ²⁹ but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.

¹⁴ I tell you, this man went down to his house acquitted, and not the other. For whosoever exalteth himself shall be humbled, but he who humbleth himself shall be exalted.

³⁷ And as he was drawing near, just at the descent of the mount of olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to express their joy in loud acclamations, praising God for all the miracles which they had seen, ³⁸ saying, Blessed be the king who is coming in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!

¹⁸ But not a hair of your head shall be lost.

¹⁵ I no longer call you servants; because the servant doth not know what his master doth. But I have called you friends, because I have made known to you all that I heard from my Father.

¹⁷ And now brethren, I know that it was through ignorance that both' you and your rulers acted thus;

³⁸ how God anointed him with a holy spirit and power. Him who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with him,

³¹ And while they were seeking to kill him, a report came to the commander of the cohort that all Jerusalem Was in commotion.

³¹ Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, Unless those continue in the ship, you cannot be saved.

³⁴ Therefore I intreat you to take refreshment, for this is conducive to your safety: for not a hair shall fall from the head of any of you.

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

⁷ Render therefore to all their dues; tribute to whom tribute; custom to whom custom; reverence to whom reverence; honour to whom honour is due.

¹⁶ Otherwise if thou bless with the spirit, how can he who occupieth the place of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving thanks, when he knoweth not what thou sayest?

²¹ Now, he who keepeth us together with you firm for Christ, and anointed us, is God, ²² who hath sealed us, and given us the earnest of the spirit in our hearts;

¹ This is the third time I am coming to you. By the mouth of two or three witnesses every thing is to' be established.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing; with the heavenly things in Christ;

³³ However with regard to you individually, let every one love his wife as himself, and let the wife reverence her husband.

² for you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord cometh as a thief at night. ³ For whilst they are saying, there is peace and safety, sudden destruction is then upon them, like the pangs of a woman in travail, and they cannot escape.

²¹ By faith Jacob, when a dying, blessed each of Joseph's sons and worshipped, bowing upon the head of his staff.

⁵ And have you forgotten this exhortation which speaketh to us as to children, "My son slight not the correction of the Lord, Nor faint when reproved by him; ⁶ For whom the Lord loveth he reproveth, And chastiseth every son whom he receiveth.

⁹ Well then: we have had fathers of our flesh who have corrected us, and we have reverenced them; shall we not much more submit ourselves to the father of our spirits, and live?

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his abundant mercy, hath regenerated us to a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

¹⁷ honour all men, love the brotherhood; fear God; honour the king.

⁶ [as Sarah, whose daughters you are, obeyed Abraham, calling him lord] doing what was right, and alarmed by no terror.

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdoms of the world are become [the kingdom] of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign for the ages of the ages. ¹⁶ And the four and twenty elders who were seated on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshipped God, ¹⁷ saying, "We thank thee O Lord, the God, the Almighty who is and who was and who is to come, because thou hast assumed thy great power and commenced thy reign. ¹⁸ The nations indeed were enraged and thy wrath came and the time for the dead to be avenged and for giving the reward to thy servants the teachers and to the saints and to them who fear thy name, small and great, and for destroying them who destroy the earth.
