¹ I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

¹³ I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. ¹⁴ Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

¹⁵ The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

⁷ Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.

² Because he has inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

² Lord, hear my voice: let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

¹⁸ O my God, incline your ear, and hear; open your eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by your name: for we do not present our supplications before you for our righteousnesses, but for your great mercies.

⁷ Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, and has long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. ⁸ Be all of you also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws nigh. ⁹ Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest all of you be condemned: behold, the judge stands before the door. ¹⁰ Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. ¹¹ Behold, we count them happy which endure. All of you have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
