¹ O God, why have you cast us off for ever? why does your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture?

²⁰ The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

¹ Why stand you far off, O LORD? why hide you yourself in times of trouble?

⁸ There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

⁹ I will say unto God my rock, Why have you forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

¹¹ Why are you cast down, O my soul? and why are you disquieted within me? hope you in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

⁹ But you have cast off, and put us to shame; and go not forth with our armies.

¹ O God, you have cast us off, you have scattered us, you have been displeased; O turn yourself to us again.

¹⁰ Will not you, O God, which had cast us off? and you, O God, which did not go out with our armies?

⁷ Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?

¹ Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

⁵ How long, LORD? will you be angry for ever? shall your jealousy burn like fire?

¹³ So we your people and sheep of your pasture will give you thanks for ever: we will show forth your praise to all generations.

⁷ For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if all of you will hear his voice,

³ Know all of you that the LORD he is God: it is he that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

¹ Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! says the LORD.

³⁷ Thus says the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says the LORD.

²⁴ Consider you not what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the LORD has chosen, he has even cast them off? thus they have despised my people, that they should be no more a nation before them. ²⁵ Thus says the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth; ²⁶ Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob and David my servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.

⁸ As I live, says the Lord GOD, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became food to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;

³¹ And all of you my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, says the Lord GOD.

³² Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

²⁶ But all of you believe not, because all of you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. ²⁷ My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: ²⁸ And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. ²⁹ My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. ³⁰ I and my Father are one.

¹ I say then, Has God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. ² God has not cast away his people which he foreknew. Know all of you not what the scripture says of Elijah? how he makes intercession to God against Israel saying,
